June 18
I am grateful for so much today. It is my anniversary and I must say that I am truly grateful for my DH. Also grateful for a wonderful music filled gondola ride in Venice this morning and a lovely afternoon spent with new friends. Rome was lovely and awe inspiring. Venice was spectacular and beautiful. Tomorrow we are off to Tuscany to visit Verona, Florence and Assisi over the next few days. What a wonderful trip to celebrate our marriage.
Hugs'n'kisses,
Deb

Grateful I am starting to feel "normal" again that is, no nap needed today -
Red How wonderful
I am grateful today for beautiful weather, not having to run any fundraising events this weekend and to be returning to a more typical pace - not feeling like I have to run everywhere at double time. Headed off to the Cape. Daughter will be with her dad and son off with his friends. Oh happy day - time to rest and restore before the kids and I head to California next week, part vacation part work for me.
Be well

-
Grateful for another good nights sleep and that I managed to last through my dance class with just a few cough/water breaks

Day 170 (6/19): grateful that BCO got the problems fixed, very frustrating yesterday. Had a great post, but it just disappeared in cyber space.
Was very grateful that the man in charge of the city's public works dept (I forget his exact title) promptly cleared up a problem for me. My neighbors of more than 10 years moved last week and I think the new ones are in the process of moving in. I had noticed on Wednesday that there were orange markings on the sidewalk between us. Yesterday heard Jack hammering most of the day. Looked out my front window to see a couple men on OUR lawn with Jack hammers and other equipment. There's a concrete divider between our properties so they knew where they were. Went out to question what was happening, (like neighborhood watch), the man in charge basically told me it was none of my business. Really? You're on my property, if something happens they could sue me and none of my business?
Since there were 3 of them, didn't pursue but called public works dept. Rep wasn't happy, here 10 minutes later (could see him drive up from my kitchen) and was here for a while (at least 15 minutes). Called later to inform me, that they were here to put in some kind of cable for the new owners, he told them I did have a need to know (maybe not details, but that they were legit), I deserved a more courteous response, that they need to stay on the property they're working on AND, BTW they needed to get permits and needed an inspection to ensure it was up to code.

Ruth, I need a class like that!
Cheryl, glad you're feeling so much better!
-
Maddy one Monday or Wednesday morning you will have to come to my Sh'bam dance class with me, it is just so much fun and I know exactly how Ruth feels about her class cause I feel the same about Sh'bam. This weekend my dance teacher is in Las Vegas at a massive fitness convention and people are so excited to work out with her, there are hundred of FB posts about her, she's like their 'superstar' and I get to dance with her 3 sometimes 4 times a week, she is the sweetest, kindest girl and she just makes dance fun.

Gosh I'm glad I saw this post. I'm grateful today for the wonderful weather and that I'm here to enjoy it. The first day of summer is tomorrow!! I'm so happy (but already sad because it *always* goes so quickly). I just love this time of the year, with everything green and in bloom. It was the thought of days like today that got me through a somewhat difficult winter. Not only was it unusually cold and icy here in Ohio, I was also dealing with chemo. But I'm getting back to where I was slowly but surely and I like to think that I'm blooming along with everything else!!
-
I am so grateful my local farmer's market has opened and we are able to get local, seasonal produce. We buy our produce from one farm, Indigo, and one of the owners, Sara, is always there each summer selling her wares.
-
Cheryl, I'd take you up on that offer -- but I would probably embarrass you!
Day 171 (6/20): grateful for the 4 men who helped me last night at the drive-thru car wash. Let's just say I probably shouldn't have even attempted it at that late hour (10:30 pm) especially with DH's truck (which is raised, I call it the mini-monster). DD's car is having problems, she wanted to borrow mine today (the one DH uses), so DH needed the truck (and yep, I'm grounded at home all day with her sick car) which was filthy and needed gas. Somehow, I misjudged and got the truck "stuck" on the curb, couldn't go forward or backward without taking out a pole. Asked for help: 4 men came to the rescue (each with a different opinion how to correct). Took a bit of doing, but finally got straightened out. Hoping I didn't scratch the truck, will have to see in the daylight but I don't think I did major damage (at least DH hasn't called yelling)
Hoping for a better weekend!

Hm, I had edited a post to say that I got some wonderful photos in the mail yesterday from Ruth of our lunch in Long Beach. Ruth, you are truly an angel! That was the bright spot in my day yesterday!!!
-
We looked fabulous, if I do say so myself!
-
yes, Ruth, I agree!
-
I am grateful that my beloved DH will get his CPAP adjusted so that he sleeps better and and will have more energy because his oxygen levels will be appropriate.
-
Day 171 (6/21): grateful DH fixed all the problems with DD's car (replaced a couple engine belts, brake lights and head light)
-
Grateful that a good friend of mine got the job she applied for (and can now move back to town....whoo hoo!).
-
Grateful that through BCO I met Ruth, she is fun, kind and generous and I love hanging out with her, I wish we lived closer so that we could hang out more often and Ruth thank you so much for the package of photos I received in the mail today, reliving happy memories right now, in case you can't tell.
-
Cheryl, if we lived closer it would be dangerous...... we would be so very fat due to our mutual love of DESSERTS!!!!!!!!!!
-
I was going to say we could split desserts but if I remember, we both tended to order the same thing and eat it all, coconut cake mmmmmmmm

It has been a difficult week, I belong to a support group, 1 woman passed in the last week and two young mom's have experienced progression. And this AM the news about JillThut. We live in the moment, enjoy the small and big adventures of our lives, move forward and I think overall we do really well. And then the realtiy hits and we remember this could all turn on a dime.
So I am grateful for a relaxed weekend and to be going off to Califormia with my kids on Thursday
Hope everyone is able to enjoy a beautiful first weekend of summer

(((Nel)))
Today I'm grateful for my beautiful roses, I have totally neglected them over the past month but I have been rewarded with gorgeous blooms that I have in vases all over my living room.
-
Nel, I am so sorry that you are experiencing such sorrow in your support group.
I am grateful for my beautiful red mandevilla thriving in a large flowerpot beside my front door and for my hydrangea also in a flowerpot flourishing on my patio. I live in a condo, so gardening options are very limited. We are allowed to plant nothing in the ground nor to alter the landscape in any way.
-
Grateful for a fun family reunion picnic with DHs family.
I am so sorry for your hard, sad week, Nel.

Grateful for a safe flight home from Italy. It was a wonderful trip. So very happy we went. I will read back tomorrow and also fill you in a bit on the trip.
-
Hi ladies- I am back from my jazz festival and it was WONDERFUL. Stellar performances from Trombone Shorty, Steve Winwood and my favorite, Diana Krall! Good to be away, also good to come home!
Grateful for good time away, great music, time in the mountains, soaking and treatments at the hot springs, and safe trip up and back.
Wishing you all a good week!
-
Welcome home Red & Jazzy!
Grateful to be sitting on my deck, drinking a cup of coffee, hanging out with my cats.
-
Day 171:(6/22): grateful DD was appreciative when she came home to exchange cars, was in a good mood and here long enough to enjoy breakfast with us
Red and Jazzy, glad you both had a great time!
