welcome Kate. They r fun here....been here a short time myself. Chevy keeps everyone's name straight and makes up things as she goes along.....she is funny. We all love reading her posts.
And sas is our "mother". She has all the info we need, and we trust her. And this thread is busy busy busy when she is here. It must be the safe family feeling she provides for us....so we must check in to our family, we just must, cause sas is watching............this thread got hoppin again with sas back !!
And well, then theres just the rest of us. There is a bunch of us, and we forget who is gettin what and when, we mess up names.....but no one cares. We know what we r talking about....you know like family. Don't have to say it correctly....we can fix and finish each other's sentences......when they r not being made up....lol
So welcome Kate....you don't need to lurk anymore....jump in, the water is warm.
-
good luck today cami.... But I can't watch,,,I just can't. Let us know when you are home and feeling well
. Hugs coming from in your pocket !!
-
Susan, you are soooo sweet.... And I love the picture...
I posted this on the other thread I am on...
"Okay, so get this..... I brought in about 6 of these huge plastic pots.... They were in the alley....... "Pots" is the key word here.... Just stay with me....
So I have already filled 2 of them, with my tomatoes....
And this morning I was cleaning out 2 more, just washing them off.... And one had this piece of "tape" on it that said "White Rhino" on it...
So I came in and looked it up.... IT WAS USED FOR GROWING MARIJUANA!! "A powerful kind"..... evidently! Ha, ha! I just cracked up laughing! I had just never heard of a "White Rhino" plant, or flower, and I was curious! Shows you what kind of neighbors we have around HERE!
http://search.aol.com/aol/imageDetails?s_it=imageD...
Maybe someone dropped them off... who knows? Just empty pots.... no soil, not a trace of NOTHING.... except the tape with the name on it.
Man, they are some big mo-fo pots to grow POT! That was my laugh for the day."
I was just imagining that White Rhino must look like those huge white Lillies I see in peoples yards.... but nope.... not this time!
-
Good Morning all--oh and Chevy too.
Welcome Kate we're ll here anytime u want to talk and everyone here IS caring and automatically feel for u for u'r Dgtr. (DD) It's a whole other story if something is wrong with our kids. Please keep us updated.
Chevy u can't grow anything else in there it is meant for POT use it correctly, it's legal there, u've been given a gift silly make good use of it. Like a normal person would. OK OK so no one is actually normal around here but I'd try it. bwahahahaha.
Oh and I don't swallow the camera BTW it goes into me and I've been rehearsing a nice song and dance number for their enjoyment.
-
well Cami, I don't think you can show them a pole dance but sure you'll think of something inventive!!
Welcome Kate and happy birthday. Sorry to here about DD, hope they figure out what's wrong. At her age did they already eliminate Mono?
Gardengumby, I decide to keep taking the hormone after reading about it. I didn't want to throw my body into any worse conniptions then I was already doing. Some doctors continue with hormones after dx if the symtums (sp) are severe. I talked to my gyn and he was ok with it. I think because the stage and not having to do any chemo or rads he was ok with it. He did contact me about stopping them now since I'm done with recon. So I only have 2 months left on them. Hope the anxiety and night sweats don't come back.
Everyone else, hello and have a good day. Tang, how you feeling? Hope not too bad.

Actually, I STOLE those posts out of the alley by the Dumpster! Ha, ha! So they had that White Rhino growing in at least one! I mean they were just there for the taking! Same with those 2 wooden chairs....! They were there in the alley last year!
So when you get home today, you can come over, and we will all go have a party in the alley! We can see what ELSE we can find!
I remember when our youngest was about 15.... The 2 girls had their room upstairs.... So one day I went up there, to get her little hobo bag, that she carred to school! I had noticed how dirty it was.... So while they were asleep, I crept up there, brought it downstairs, dumped it all out, and out came a little baggie of seeds, rolling papers, and this glass thing.... probably the correct term is a bong. So I was immediately ready to stomp upstairs and strangle her....
Instead, I waited until I got home from work, then told her "Don't even tell me if wasn't yours!" And "Here, watch this!" So I took that little baggie with the seeds in the bathroom, and flushed it all down the toilet... took 5 flushings to get it all down.... they kept "floating"..... Ha!
Now, when we laugh about it, she said she wanted to cry!....
So she is my little one who always comes over, and we watch Shirley Temple together, and have picnics in the front-room, and I would be LOST without her being close to me....
Then there was the time, DH went upstairs for something.... found this HUGE pot, with this little plant in it, with a light on over it! Now we are really not that stupid!
So he brought it down, threw the whole thing over in the ditch! I must have blocked out the conversation we had over that one.....
Amazing how "perfect" they turn out, isn't it?
-
I sure hope they eventually come around. We're going through some awful chit around here now. I'm having more lung issues and things are stressful with all the medical appointments and hubby has hit his stress limit. Daughter has been in a pissy mood and starting giving my DH chit and being disrespectful of me and he threw her out of the house. Told her to pack her stuff and get out. That was over a week ago and haven't heard from her. She's 20, but acts 14. She won't answer texts or phone calls. She's couch surfing with her boyfriends family, but it just sucks all around.
Have another CT scan tomorrow. Chest xray shows more suspicious activity. Ugh. I'm in need of some serious medication about now. How much stress can a person take?
Thinking of Philladink and cami. Hope all goes well with their tests and positive thoughts for Kate's daughter too.
-
Good morning everyone,
In your pocket Cami....I'd love to see a video of your song and dance you got planned for the docs today. Hope all goes well and pain free.
Loving all the pics of animals and yards. Those White Rhino pots were a great find Chevy. You telling us the truth that the pot was empty when you got it from the alley?
)
Well, my blood tests showed after 3 iron infusions that my iron levels are still dropping
Will continue with same treatment plan, but oncologist is adding extra vitamin C to help absorb iron. Retesting somewhere between 5-8 infusions. If still dropping, will go to daily infusions for one week, followed by weekly infusions and retest. Just really tired of being tired.
Heading out the door for work now. Oh, welcome to you Kate, and happy birthday. I hope all goes well with your daughter. Keep us posted.
Hugs to all you gals....
-
Cami - Is this how your team is going to view the pics of your peectomy? Hoping all is going well and soonest over for you. Busy thread this am. Catching up. Posting for Cami.
-
Ah, BlueBird......so, so sorry you are going through all this crapola. Taking care of yourself right now, should be your first priority. You have weathered some rough storms and you truly deserve a break.
DD will eventually come around, maybe on her time schedule. I guess it's comforting knowing she has a place to stay.
Hang in there, FIERCEST....big hugs...in your pockets tomorrow & always...
-
Oh, why to watch on TV... The Kardashians, or Cami's HooHa? Decisions, decisions... Love ya, Girlfriend!
JWoo - hope the days are getting easier for you... Big hugs..
Welcome, Kate, and happy birthday! Prayers for your daughter...
Chevy - let us know if you need us to send bail money... "Tomatoes", my @$$..
Sassafras - just seeing you post means that all is well with the world again!
Susan! Did you put hair extensions on that little colt?
Smaarty - cute coffee!
FierceBB - prayers for peace in the family, and normal scans. Meds are good during chit tsunami times; counseling can be even better. Sending major huggage.
Hi Pawprint, and all our other Owlettes who haven't checked in yet!
Hope everyone finds peace in their day today!
xoxoxo
-
Welcome Kate......we love newbies, it's a wild ride here...
Pawprint, have they given you a reason why your iron is so low & not going up with these infusions? I was very anemic before my hysterectomy, but just took over the counter iron.
Cami.....I will be happy when this peectomy is over. Makes me cringe to think about it.
Ok, Chevster...... Is this sweet karma that YOU are using professional grade marijuana containers. You know those tomatoes will have some residual herb. Probably be the best thing to come out of your garden. You can have a little stand, selling your bounty. Those beanie wearing hipsters in the neighborhood will pay big bucks for your pot tomatoes...What will your daughters say.....you might be grounded...

FBB, sorry all the trouble going on. Please, consider family counseling. Maybe Blessings has a few words on this? Hopefully DD BF's family doesn't buy in to her story and just allowing a cooling off period. Consider contacting the Mom.I was a bc patient, plus caretaker for my DH who had terminal lymphoma.
The fatigue was grueling. 10 hospital admissions from late Feb 2010 till aug 2010. I would not have made it without the support of my counselor and PCP. They worked to keep us both appropriately medicated. It was a team effort.
Please, attempt to get DH in for a physical with PCP >>.goals: 1.referral for counseling---individual and group--family (you and kids), and other caretakers, 2. meds as they deem appropriate, 3. sleep is paramount. Is he sleeping? Does he need meds? 4. how's his work? 5. any way to send him away for a break and have another relative come?
Are you sleeping?
Will link a thread re: cancer and careers. Hmm either BCO is having trouble with something or I'm being blocked.
worked by typing it.
L&H&P's sassy
-
Well, on to another page.
Susan - the can't look horsey tail pic is adorable. Love your life philosophy. Hope you are having a good Wed.
Thanks Smaarty for the morning coffee. I dragged myself outta bed and helped DH with my goats this morning. Feeling very guilty.
Chevy - I thought surely "white rhino" could be a brand of plastic pot. No such luck. You got some strange alley neighbors. Is it legal to grow it there or just legal to buy?
Welcome Kate. Happy Birthday. This is a fun bunch but also supportive and serious when necessary. Jump right in. Prayers for your DD. When do you get the test results back?
Chevy - the best dumpster/trash diving is on move out day of the university dorms.
FierceOne - Put on that FierceAttitude for that CT tomorrow. Could the activity be nasty bits dying? Will be in your pocket. Sorry about chit with DD. Teens is hard but that establishing self independently is worse I think. I didn't have the "hormonal" DD so much so teens weren't that bad. Not a clue what she did while away at college for weeks at a time at about that age of your's. Is attitude her way of dealing with your BC? Sometimes getting angry is easier than expressing fears. Have you tried talking with social worker just to understand her? Not expecting she would go and wouldn't ask. Now if she made an overture to go, sure. Maybe the distance from your home will be good for her. I know your relied on her to be there I think. Sorry that is gone for now. Did you get "Cleaning for a Reason" help or even need that? Anything else the SW at your tx center can help you with? Or at the local ACS office? See SassyFrassy has posted a bunch of stuff. Read as you will - not dissing anyone. Know this is all overwhelming. Take Care of #1 YOU first. Love you bunches and bunches.
-
SweetSue, Thanks for the thought that I'm Mom. That should go to the wisest here. That certainly isn't me LOL. I'm just off being banned. Someone had asked why, I firmly believed we had freedom of speech ---not true here, or anywhere in cyberspace that has a Terms of Use. I was told by many, but just couldn't believe it. Bam a banner said "you are banned till"
Everyone here is wiser than me. We could say we are a bunch of wisers. Could play with that word for awhile.
Blessings, Thanks
, we cross posted. RE: FBB--Hope you see mine and weigh in re: counseling and approach?
Paws would you like me to do a search? Don't like to shoot from the hip, but is it related to the effect of chemo on your bone marrow? They should be able to tell you this, if they are related? Radiation can do it.
Paws The Question for doc who is likely a hematologist: "Even though your iron level is low, is there any accumulation of iron in the organs?" If the answer is yes. Ask them if they can do a baseline Ferri Scan of the liver and heart. Iron stores can accumulate in these and other organs, but they accumulate here first--liver then heart. I'll get the link. Ferri Scans are new. They may never have heard of it.

Okay, I suck...but what is going on with Cami??welcome kate!! Sorry to hear about your DD, please keep us posted about her.
FBB-I went thru some similar stuff with my oldest not too long ago. She is home now and attitude is better, but yes it does suck. She is 21 and acts 14 too. She finally has a job, but I honestly am not sure how or if she will keep it for long. I'm praying for maturity! This sickness stuff is hard on everyone around us.
DH needs to go to the doctor, I'm going to make him an appointment and force him to go. He has diabetes and is NOT taking good care of himself. I know he is overwhelmed, but now more than ever he needs to take care of himself.
Anyway, I'm just going on and on....love and hugs to everyone. Where is ziggy btw???
Oh yeah chevy...I really want to sit on your back porch and soak in your garden. It looks lovely...maybe we can bust out your dd's old bong too! LOL sorry couldn't resist!
-
Tang what a nice thought. Chevy's back porch with a picture of fresh tea and a bong. How nice.
-
Tang - Cami is having sometime today a cystoscopy - camera of urethra/bladder. Per her choice she will be awake maybe slightly drugged but certainly no gen. anesthesia or even the loverly Propofol. She calls it pe-ectomy.
Oo - good call. Missed Ziggy. O Ziggy where are you?
Hope you get DH to doc. Mine goes reluctantly yearly but just to keep his BP meds.
I'm in for Chevy's porch.
-
so it's Chevys porch for the tea party now?? Sounds good to me...Chevy now has the ingredients to make the brownies !!
Sas....you really r mom.....all the kids came back....but need to find ziggy I guess. There is always a lost sheep...but they find there way back...or someone will thread search and seek her out. Just like to know everyone is ok.
FBB, my heart goes out to you. Hope you world settles down and peace takes over. I. Sending prayers of comfort and peace your way
-
pawprint, sorry you r soooo tired. Must be so hard to feel that way all the time. Hope they can figure it out and get that iron to stay in....in your pocket
-

Ok, I’ve been reading for days about this Peectomy Cami is having and all I can say is
OUCH! Cami you are a brave lady! And I was wondering the same about Smaarty and Estrogen, but Gardengumby
beat to asking about it!Welcome and Happy Birthday to you, tressaliz! Also, prayers for
your daughter! That’s such a young age!And Susan you are
so correct with what you say about the rest of us, especially me, let’s see how
did you put it? “And well, then theres just
the rest of us. There is a bunch of us, and we forget who is gettin what
and when, we mess up names.....but no one cares. We know what we r talking
about....you know like family. Don't have to say it correctly....we can fix and
finish each other's sentences......when they r not being made up....lol”Chevy, my daughter would love you garden, she is def a garden person and since she no
longer lives with us, I have NO gardens! But she has her new place really coming together and she would love the pots, I’ll have to show her your pic!FBB—I agree with hubby throwing her out! You have done
your part and raised her, it’s time she step up to the plate and take a swing
for herself! You nor your DH need added stress at this time! Although, I know your illness is stressful
for her too, but at 20 she should know how to act! I know it’s tough, as mothers, we worry! Always have, always will, but at some point we have to draw a line! When each of my two graduated from high school, my DH gave them a choice, go to college or go to work and if you go to work you will be moving out! Both went to college! And as soon as they finished college they were on their own! I’m still sorry you have to endure this added stress!Well, I’m still behind! I’ll catch up more later!
But wanted to add, chiro put me on decompression table Monday…..it seems to have helped
although that in and of itself has added some soreness! Off to massage today, so hopefully by the
weekend, I’ll know if the table worked!! -
Just a quick check-in
Cami, hope you're doing well and home soon to rest. Brave lady you are, I would have required heavy meds for that little look-see. You'll have to tell us about it.
BBL!
-
Thanks everyone. Life just sucks right now, but all I needed was a group hug!
-
You got it FierceOne.
-
Fierce....! We're with you hon.... What is? Is....... that's what my Brother always says about his kids.... sometimes you just have to step back and take a breath, and know it will turn out alright...
Kids that age just know it all.... I remember that.... Glad I don't have to go through it now....I would go nuts.... If you call the "Mom".... all you can do is explain what happened... she will understand...
OR, you could just go over there, hog-tie her, and drag her home by the heels and lock her in her room, never to see the light of day AGAIN, unless she behaves...
Sorry.............
