Tang I wish there were some words that would make it better. Wish I was there to give you a big hug, make you some iced tea and your favorite food, wrap you in a blanket and let you find some peace. Just one step at a time. Get well from the infection. You have an infectious disease doc, I think, right. Heal and start with him. What needs to happen for this not to happen again. BUT not right now. Direct all your energy - physical, mental, psychic, spiritual into getting well. Try some mental imagery of kicking those bugs out. Maybe get some pics of them and literally XX them out. Sleep well tonight. I will be praying for your healing and peace for your decisions.

I'm new to this thread but not the forums.  Hoping to sleep tonight.  I'm feeling very anxious and depressed, mainly over relationship problems.  I feel like I have very little left after a lot of time invested in certain friendships and activities.  I'm away from home on business travel and feeling tired and lonely as well.  Thought it might help to write to people who understand.

welcome Mary....sorry you are in a bad place right now. I hope you can get a very peaceful night sleep. At the top of this thread, a gal named sas started it...she told me to look at the animals all hugging each other.  And that is what we do for everyone here on this thread. Feel us hugging you, and maybe that will give you a little peace for right now.....

My husband first introduced me to the word tchotchkes.

It sounds like several people are working on landscaping/gardens.  The landscapers just finished ours today.  It took a month.  I'm sitting outside enjoying it right now.  It's 91 degrees at 9:25 pm and we just had the fire pit on testing it out.  Surely, we are insane.

Susan - scary about your friend, glad you were there to help her. You post the best pics! It was funny this afternoon at my MRI... all the techs were having hot flashes and I asked for a blanket...

Chevy - luvmygoats is right.... in my case, "tchotchkes" are garden ornaments. I think it originally comes from Yiddish, or even Polish, but you have to be careful, as another in another context you might be saying "Bimbo"....

luvmygoats - Nooo! I hate those falls... take care of your poor knee! Thanks for translating for Chevy. I think I will still stay off the Femara until we get the thyroid figured out. My PCP was out today, so she hasn't seen the test results. I did email her, though, asking if it were time to increase my Synthroid dosage. If life gets fabulous after that, then maybe I'd reconsider the Femara. (But probably not...)

Teka - LOVE that kitten and puppy pic!!! So cute!!! Hate the song, though; my obnoxious cousins sang it over and over and over whenever we had a family gathering and I just wanted to shove a giant meatball in their mouths to stop them!

Cami - just went through a series of new thyroid tests. I've been on Synthroid for over ten years, apparently at the same dosage they give newborns.... (??????) And you? Gloom and doom? Never!!!

Tang - so sorry about that bad bug. And the "helpful" relatives. All we'll do here is love you and support you. In fact, here's a few of us checking in on you:

Mary, I remember traveling for business and often feeling out-of-sorts, especially if I was traveling alone.  I had a lot of weird moments in hotels - feeling lonely and displaced.  I hope everything feels better in the morning and/or when you get back home.

My first husband and I had a pet raccoon (baby) for a few weeks during our first year of marriage.  Ziggy.  He wasn't a practical pet but he sure was cute!

tang, I'm skipping around posts and just saw yours.  I'm sorry you ended up in the hospital!  In the long run it's probably for the best, meaning: getting the pocket cleaned out - but it's another annoying roadblock to being finished with chemo.  Wishing you speedy healing!

AARGHHH! Just finished the second half of my post and lost it!!!

2TA – I loved today’s message. It calmed me down when I was
in the MRI machine. How was your day today?

Nettie – Pool, kitties, and fish-feeding – sounds like my
kinda day! Hope you get some good sleep tonight.

Spookiesmom – looks like corn to me!!!

Welcome, mary625. Oh, yes, we do understand here. It may
seem crazy at times, but what you see is what you get, and we just love
everyone for it. May you have sweet dreams tonight.

LeeA – of course you are insane, as are all of us who live
in hot climates and put heart, soul, and gazillions of dollars into
landscaping. I have been known to go out and hose everything off at 11 pm when
it is still 90 degrees… just so we can sit outside and listen to our waterfall
for a few minutes. What kind of landscaping did you do?

    ~ ~ ~

Well, today was the MRI, and the first question they asked
me when I came out of the tube was “Are you dizzy?”

    Well, I wasn’t, but I was a
little unsteady. And I was kind of wobbly as DH insisted on driving to Vons to
return the moldy strawberries we bought yesterday. I wanted to wait in the car,
    but it was hot.

Now I just read an article that MRIs CAN make you dizzy, as the magnetic field disrupts the
fluid in the inner ear, causing motion sickness. Oh, great. I have four
different vestibular disorders. Had I read that prior to my appointment, I
might have chickened out completely. Now I think I’ll take a Valium and head off to bed!

    Nighty night, Owlettes!!!

Lee, cute name for a raccoon. Friends of ours have raccoons that come on there deck every night and eat cat food. We can watch them through the huge glass windows. Fun to observe them.

Mary625, welcome ! If you hang out long enough, our resident shrink, "Chevster" will have you fixed up in NO time. She is fond of chocolate cokes & pole dancing.

Tang......I was looking forward to Thursday, you & final chemo, me & my surgery for power port removal.  We were reaching a milestone on the same day....I am so sorry this chit is never ending for you. I am confident that you will turn the corner soon and your treatments will continue, and you will be where I am, getting the port removed in 3-4 months. It seems that some ladies that are getting recon, sometimes get the ports yanked sooner. I did not want to do this in the summer, but, it was offered and I am thrilled to having it removed. It is such a reminder of this past year...

    Night all...

Blessings, yes - lots of money spent on landscaping in both California and Arizona.  This was new construction (house) so all the landscaping had to go in - soup to nuts - irrigation to plant material.

Re: MRIs - I've only had one (a few days after diagnosis) but I thought it was one of the most stressful parts of the diagnosis period.  It was so loud.  The sound alone made my head spin.  OTOH, I was given a prescription for one Lorazepam prior to the procedure (I guess the breast surgeon was afraid I'd get addicted).

And don't you just hate it when fruit turns moldy so soon?  We had that happen several times last summer.

Holeinone, we lived in an apartment when we had this raccoon.  Young and stupid we were.  We let it sleep with us.  Good grief.  It's a wonder we didn't end up with rabies.  No wonder my mother thought I was too young to get married.  Maybe she should have substituted "too young" for "too stupid."  :-)  Nowadays, I'd much rather watch them through glass, be it windows or the "glass" on a television screen.

I just hope you are all well and things are going as you want them right now!

Sending happy thoughts to all!  I miss you all and hopefully things will settle down and I can ketchup soon!

Hi 44444444's nice to see you again. Hope you'll be jumping in again soon.....and hugs back to you. Annie Mae and Snuggs are asleep. OMGosh Snuggs snores so loud I had to turn on the fan just to have white noise to drown out her snoring. Annie Mae still bumps into everything. It's like demolition derby in this house. I was reading thru some of the posts here regarding gardens and landscapes. Its so hot here where I live and the soil has a lot of rock in it so it's really hard to dig in the dirt and plant things. Plus, we  have to conserve water do to drought conditions. I was looking at some pics from Susan and Chevy's yards and thinking of using planting pots that I can easily move around, that way I can put good soil in them and maybe grow some vegetables and herbs. Just need to get more iron infusions in me so I'll have some energy. I think I'm in zone 9 when I look at those gardening maps. Hugs to everyone, and I hope you are all sleeping well tonight. Miss you SAS, hope to hear from you soon.

Okay, beginning here at the end....  I see our "normal" one, Alyson!  With her Gbabies!  That is such a special time!

And then there is Littlepaws, with her 2 sleeping nuggets!  So glad Annie Mae is doing well!!!!!

Yes... plant things in pots.... BIG pots... and then you can always replace or add to the dirt.....  By the way, don't ever walk into a garden center and ask "Where is your dirt?"....  They just look all disgusted at you and then say "WE DON'T HAVE DIRT, WE HAVE SOIL!!!!"

What a bunch of bitches they were!

And then I add coffee-grounds, crushed dried egg shells, Pearlite, dried crushed leaves, pine needles that we sweep up, and you can even add those "polymers" to hold the water in!

Now go figure THAT one out....  And I'm NOT tellin'!  You guys and your  "chachees" and whatever else you say in code....   And then I'm going on to try and understand how anyone thinks Johnson & Johnson is some kind of grass/weed/MJ or whatever!  Looks like corn to me.

My GRANDson works for Johnson&Johnson, with DePuy Spine, and he's never heard of their Johnson grass!

Oh SORRY Tang!  SOMEtimes you just can't get rid of stuff, even with the Doctors and all their know-it-all  ....  And you have to give it up and make an ER run....  HOPEfully they can figure it out, and get you home in a hurry.... I hope you are better!

I had looked up Vinnie a long time ago, because, well, YOU know.... and I did see his pages, with pictures, AND his family and WIFE!  Guess there goes another one!   Oh well......... sigh.....

22222nd.... If they got after him, they for sure would have gotten after me.... Ha!

Nettie, just go get some good shoes.... like Crocs....  You can't break your neck in them.... just don't go out of the house with them, or folk will laugh at you....  like me.... but I don't care...

    image

    image

    Spookie.... It IS grass/weed/corn..... whatever!

Hey, good morning Mary!  Good to see you here!  I think it's safe to say we ALL either have, or had relationship problems.... don't feel bad...  Just come here and blab.... like the rest of us....  WE'LL fix you up in no time...  maybe even for the better.... or maybe not...  just take care of yourself....

Yes, we understand.....  WHAT do we understand?  Are we supposed to be understanding something now?

Okay.... now wait till y'all see this....

    image

So this is what you all mean?  Chochees?  Yes, I have lots....  but then it's just me...  Ha, ha!  I am the Queen of Nochees!

I could post a picture of something normal, but, well, you know....

Good morning JWow and Lee and Blessings!

And 444444444!  Bout time you poked in here!

Where is the Cam?  I don't thinks she is feeling well... maybe we should haul her butt to the Doc's!  Come on Cammi..... talk to us!

I will never have my port removed.....which is ok.......but we need to name it.   Remember my cancer is Waldo....so help me think of a name for my port. ,!!

Morning ladies - I'm having my morning iced tea...

Today is a day for me (after I do a little house cleaning this morning). I've started a load of laundry, and will soon clean up the kitchen, vacuum and steam my floors. Then it's off to acupuncture, a pedicure and a haircut. If I can manage to squeeze in a massage I'm going to do that as well, but if not, I'll have one later this week.

I bought a few more plants for my yard yesterday and hope to get them in the ground today as well, but the probability is that they won't go in until tomorrow.  Once I get them planted I'll probably spend some time weeding, as the front beds surely need it!  Also I'm working on removal of a yucca.  Why our predecessors planted one RIGHT next to the house is beyond me - they must have had no concept of the size they can reach - not to mention the density of their roots.  This particular one has broken one of the underground sprinkler lines, and we must remove the rest of the roots before we can fix the sprinkling system in this area.

OK - time to get busy.  Have a great day ladies!!

Ok, I've been having trouble with this site. Sometimes it takes forever to load a page. Sometimes you lose a post, and now I lost a whole group of you! After I posted my picture of the tea party, I then see a whole bunch of posts that weren't there earlier!

Glad to see everyone is still around!

    Hope Tang is feeling better.

4sewhat, hope your new fin is swimming!

Chevy around here tchatches are knick knacks and things you collect. Usually little things you might get at a yard sale.  You my dear, have Yard Art!

I love your birdbath! It is a very interesting yard! Didn't see your outdoor stripper pole though.

In addition to being behind (and NOT a behind) yet again, something's messed up: when I read a thread, it doesn't bring me to after my last or one seen but it's random. You all start talking about things I've missed a half page ago. Give a girl a break, I'm already confused enough!

While I get caught up on reading, here's a little somthing:
