INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

Good Morning, I haven't moved one--the time just flew by and I've been stupidly busy with my little job and being with Joey, and he's out of school on the 10th (his BD) so we're just having a smll family thing for him. Just Martys family--that's all. But it's this Sat. and my DD is a bitch cuz she has all this stuff she thinks is a demand that she has to do, (Oh I was kind of like that when I was younger having company) So I stay out of the way, plus I've been feeling like chit.
Susan u look wonderful and u have a beautiful family.
Teka I love those nails, I used to do things like that when I got my nails done regularly--I would go seasonal.
FBB not many people would scroll so fast as to see penis in any form, but u. hahaha
Aly I hope u got u allergy meds and RA meds--
I'm way behind and I don't like when I do that.
Chevy u'r a little quiet, well for u anyway. Hope u'r fine. Usually u go on and on about nothing--oops I mean the most important things anyone could say.
OK I'll close for no and glad to hear Sas is OK.
-
Good morning everyone, just wanted to jump in, so I kinda sorta skimmed thru the posts here. I'm so sorry Nettie that you fell off your mower...ouch. I'm glad SAS is okay and just taking a break. And Chevy, how did I miss it about you breaking your hip? I saw you had your daughter go to your computer address book to get SAS phone number so you can tell someone you broke your 'stupid' hip. I hope you are resting. Thanks for the beautiful birds Susan, I will hug someone today. I hope everyone has a nice day today.
-
Good Morning sunshine.....
Cami, sorry you are feeling crummy. Hopefully by the weekend you will feel better for Joeys big day. I also go postal when I have lots of people coming to the house, trying to do too much.
Nettie, I think my worst falls were shoe related, or not paying attention. It hurts to go down, hope you are not too sore.
GardenGumby, looks so relaxing. I also love Puget Sound & area. San Juan Islands, so beautiful.
Teka, summer is here ! I feel like I am going to blink & it will be the 4th of July.
Have a good one....BBL....
-
Well, thanks everyone for the well wishes! I didn't sleep at all last night, but I'm up and at it today, got a busy day at work! I'm thinking I'll probably be more sore tomorrow, but maybe not! I don't fall often, but when I do, I usually do a good job! Still don't know how the heck I did it, just felt like the flip flop got caught on something, not real sure! Anyway, no one saw, I got up and got back on like a big girl!! Since I didn't sleep last night, I actually spent some time in the pool, then when I got a little chill I went in and continued to soak in the tub! I've heard the alternating cold and heat can help, so maybe I waved off some of the soreness!
Sorry, I'm self absorbed again, not much time to keep up on commenting on everything, but I did read!
Sorry for those feeling yucky and yay for those moving forward! Loved the nails, but I would never be brave enough to wear them!
-
this seemed appropriate for some of the past posts!!
-
Nettie, Stop copying me. I look like an assault victim right now. First I banged into a pipe stairway at the library leaving a huge bruise on my left knee. Then I fell getting into GS's tub to rinse off after a hot tub. That left a huge bruise on the left forearm and a smaller one on the right elbow. There's a tiny bruise on my rear, but I'm much better padded there. I think I need to take some kind of balance class. In your case, please don't wear flip flops to mow. At least wear sneakers. Hope the soaking helps reduce the aches.
Hope everyone has a great week.
-
I have also been extremely clumsy in the last 3-4 months. I was running into everything, bruising like never before. I was taking aspirin, but stopped doing that 2 weeks ago. I am having port removed and was bleeding more than usual.
I blame everything on chemo brain....?....getting older...?
-
Okay! Here ya go gals!
And maybe around the yard, AND the alley.... Ha, ha! Man, when I fell on my hip, my whole butt was black, AND my leg! They gave me IV's so I wouldn't get in trouble with something.... but I'm all better now! I'm just really careful in the yard, with all the un-even flagstone.
You know, my Daughter's friend's Sister fell off the top of a ladder! She is NOW in a 1/2 body cast, with a broken arm, pelvic bones, and the bones punctured something inside her, and she was in surgery for 4 hours! Good LORD now THAT is a Fall! She was still in intensive care the last I heard..... So don't go climbing up on any ladders! I mean I can fall over a pebble, or off that pole, so no tellin' what I would do whilst climbing a ladder!
See, this is what Cammi means when she says I go on about nothing.... but what if I don't have anything else to talk about? I'm making a Broccoli, potato, onion cheddar cheese soup.... Is that exciting?
And so you know what else? You know what the BEST salad is? Chop up Broccoli, add dried Blueberries, or cranberries, chopped onions, a little celery and chopped walnuts.... And when you serve it add your favorite dressing.... like Ranch Dressing.... !!! I just love this!
Nettie, we don't even know what self-absorbed IS! Do we?
Hi Little Paws.... How is our girl? BBL gals! xoxoxoxo

A Chicken Teka? I'm going to chicken-sit again from Thursday until Tuesday.... I know you guys will all be jealous because they reward me with their eggs! And I'm NOT sharing!

Good morning, Owlettes!!!
So sorry to read about trips, falls , and other boo-boos. When my balance disorders were really bad a few years ago, I could fall over suddenly just by standing up straight. More than one person suggested bubble wrap...
Well - tomorrow will be one week off Letrozole. Can't say it's made any difference so far; it takes at least six days to clear the chemicals from your system.
I did find out one huge clue to my fatigue and sluggishly lost days... Stupid thyroid is begging for more drugs! Just finishing up testing. Hopeful that a higher dose will help.
Right now it's almost 90 outside, but I am in bed wearing a fleece robe, socks, and the electric blanket on. Too bad I can't get one of those dirty phone calls with heavy breathing and "What are you wearing?"
Big plans for this afternoon! Get to squeeze my fat butt into an MRI to find out why my back pain isn't getting better. The PCP thinks more is going on - but NOT mets! Sadly I had to cancel the Monterey meet up with the California Dreaming Tour gals... Not sure I could make the three hour drive with the big honkin' back brace on.
Dang! Call the WAAAAMBULANCE! All I have done is complain about my various and sundry ailments! What a wuss!!!!!
Other than that, life is good. Should be 102 this weekend, whoopee. Will REALLY appreciate the beach when we get there next week!
DH and I are slowly rearranging the garden in anticipation of the big water shortage this summer.. More rocks and tchotchkes than water-guzzling plants. I'll post some pics one of these days.
Big hugs to all - promise individual replies when I'm off this iPad.
xoxoxo

Chevy...you can snake sit anytime you want....I think it's you who think they are nice animals too. Although I don't think the chickens would like them.
On the bc walk, my friend went down when we got into the tent area. She was doing real bad the last 7 miles but she was determined to finish, we tried to get her to take a ride in but she wouldn't. I am telling you, it is real hard to hold someone up,that is going down. Wowwww. I was sinking with her. If it wasn't so scary, it had to be funny to watch. She is ok...but didn't know her name or where she was before she went out completely. Not a bruise on her. I nicely cushioned her fall, the when we tried to move her to the stretcher, the nurses kindly caught her and again, another nice slow fall to the ground.
Her hubby picked her up after the stabilized her and she wasn't able to finish. I was so scared. I have blacked out a few times but I have never seen it happen. Now I feel, terrible for those who have witnessed me....my daughter and hubby. Claire said it is forever etched in her mind when I went down. But for me, I had just got out of bed, and crashed. She heard it and came running. The etched into the brain part is cause I was naked....ha ha...not a pretty sight...poor thing.. Oh well, I told her you have to experience a lot in life I order to be a nice wonderful complete person......lol. And I'm am sticking to my theory.
I will stop blabbing now....see we do go on about nothing !!!!!!!!
-
Okay now Blessings.... stay with me here.... YOU said you are "More rocks and tchotchkes than water-guzzling plants. I'll post some pics one of these days."
Am I the only one that thinks you have heat stroke? You had better go out for air little lady! The heat is hurting your ability to talk to me straight!
WTH are "tchotchkes?" God, you sound more like Cammi every day!
I first thought you meant Artichokes? But they take water.... Okay, get out of bed and stand in front of the air conditioner!
So I don't think you need an MRI.... It is my conclusion, that all that HEAT you are bombarding your little body with is screwing up everything else UP! Your back is probably yelling out "HELP!" Go get an ice bag..... lay on that for awhile....
Okay now, who else can I fix?
Teka..... "All covered with snow?" Is that it? No-one else knows what we are talking about, because WE don't.
Yes Susan.... I like your snake....These gals just don't know what "cool" is.... especially Blessings.... That is one hot mama!
That sounds awful about your friend...! But wait.... YOU were nekked? Ha, ha! I don't want anyone to see me nekked! Unless it's that WHO was it someone talking about a nice looking call person, whilst in bed? Yes..... okay with that one.
You mean WE go on about nothing? You mean US??? You're California dreamin' girl!

I did nearly give myself heat stroke. Carried 3 bucket of water to my fig "tree" I say tree cause this thing dies to the ground every year. Pulled out Johnson grass and yucky old weeds and then promptly said Whoa Nellie that's enough. Got about 1/5 way around it. DH came home and we managed to give smelly dog a bath. It is way too humid for 1st of June.
I took the tumble too, fell over vacuum hose. PTL bruised knee only and carpet burn. Coulda been lots worse. I'm the bump into things person, like who put that door frame there.
Chevy tchotchkes are garden ornaments, actually anything decorative. Too long to put here but look up the Urban Dictionary def. Wacky.
Glad Sassy is just taking a break.
Congrats Susan on your "walk".
Well Blessings if they get your thyroid meds straightened out does that change your perspective on Femara? I've been on it a little over 2 years. Do the 90 year old walk, but chol. and bones seem to be holding up well. Taint got no Mojo. Not so sure about my general attitude. That could sure use a makeover. But then I never was a cup o cheer at least at home.
Can't go back a page. Can't remember who was mowing and fell? Nettie?
Tang - how are you doing these days?

The words
On top of spaghetti
All covered with cheese
I lost my poor meatball
When somebody sneezed. It rolled off the table
And onto the floor
And then my poor meatball
Rolled out of the door.It rolled in the garden
And under a bush
And then my poor meatball
Was nothing but mush. The mush was as tasty
As tasty could be
And early next summer
It grew into a tree. The tree was all covered
With beautiful moss
It grew great big meatballs
And tomato sauce. So if you eat spaghetti
All covered with cheese
Hold on to to your meatballs
And don't ever sneeze. -
Susan: love the
colorful birds, they are so cute. That was some scary stuff about your friend.Nettie: hope you’re
feeling not so sore, be careful, girl friend! Thank you for the inspirational
Cherish quote with the cute cats, it’s just what I needed. And no, Nettie, you
are NOT self-absorbed, you are just leading an interesting life right now.Hi1: I blame
everything on stress or lack of sleep because I can’t use any other valid one.
I refuse to blame in on getting older!Chevy: the soup
sounds delish! Too bad the weather is way too hot for that here. Now, a cool
refreshing salad sounds like the way to go.Pawprint: how is
Annie Mae doing? Snuggs behaving herself? And are you getting rest?Teka: mmmm,
spaghetti!Blessings: hoping
you find something out so they can get you straightened out. Just way too hot
for you to feeling so cold. But then again, they may get you fixed up right and
you’ll be dealing with the outside heat and the internal wish and you’ll wish
you were cooler as you can always put on warmer clothes or a blanket. I
understand your comment about drought-resistant yards. We’re going to all be
hurting this summer.** And for the record, Blessings is wrong: she does NOT have
a fat butt…..Luv, what is Johnson
grass? Because you’re in TX, that’s related to LBJ? Hoping the dog doesn’t go
rolling in the dirt after the bath.Cami, you seem
really quiet lately. What’s happening in your world? Any big plans for when
Joey is out of school? To FBB, Tang, Jwoo and
whoever else I’m missing (it’s not intentional, just can’t keep up): hoping
your having a great day and post a line or two so I know who’s still active on
this thread. -
Okay, you guys are just making stuff up! And are in cahoots together!
I looked it up, and "tchotchkes" is barely even a word. THEY say something about it being little insignificant things, like "trinkets" or something ......
Man, I really have to use my brain around you people!
And then Littlegoats comes up with "Johnson grass"..... Hah! I think it is plain old grass.... like what we have here, and they call it "weed".... right? They don't care if you grow your own grass? I think you are allowed so many plants, but if you have too many, Phylli will call the cops.... because they are all her friends..... She is rather "close" with them all, you know.
Teka, I LAUGHED when I read that song! And I remembered it! THAT'S what's so funny, Ha, ha!
I love Mush too.... I mean Polenta! It is made with the courser corn-meal! See how my mind wanders..... ??? And it's YOUR fault!
Hi 222222ndT! Yes.... Cammi must be caught up in something illegal..... maybe she is asleep, or playing with Joey.... or maybe out to lunch again....
-
our daughter says if daddy buys one more tchotchkes, she is putting hi in the home..ha ha. I think we should all use that word and dry Chevy nuts...lol
Great song teka...never knew the last 2 verses. A bit ADD..I must have had a wandering mind after half the song went on...cami is busy with Joey and phones I think
Hi 2nd
-
luvmygoats u need to rest now. That was a lot of work.
Blessings..hope they figure out thyroid and pain...and why r u under heat blankets and in a fleece robe...making me sweat just thinking about it......hugs your way
-
-
2nd time - Johnson grass is a pasture weed, a type of sorghum. Makes a nice seed head. Goats love it but I'm kinda afraid of it. It can build up prussic acid but I think that is mostly in frozen grass or droughty grass. I read it does grow in CA.
Thanks about thinking about dog. She is passed out on giant dog bed. With DH off today she spends more time sleeping since he spends more time napping. But I'm soon to get sad eyes "Where's my dinner?" from her. DH is having hot dogs/potato salad. Easy peasy night tonight. Thanks Susan been resting most of the afternoon. Have big plans for tomorrow - haircut day.
-
Oh it's me trying to catch up and realizing u guys are using goofy words again.
And everyone is falling, tripping or fainting WTF is going on and if u do what I do u'd be safe cuz I don't move.
Blessing how long has it been since u had u'r thyroid checked? Once it goes like bad do u always have to take meds for it? or when it gets better can u stop? I know I don't know nuthin, Honey but I get by with a little helps from my friends and I get high oh never mind--
And Teka I so remember tthat song we usrd to sing it all the time, like it was so funny. Well it was years ago.
I'm all mixed up lately, I'm not feeling very well and as u can see I'm a big crabby lump. OK I'll be back for more gloom and doom that I bring.
-
why is everyone falling?? be careful ya'll!I read the pages I was behind on and I saw susan doing a walk, chevy talking about noodleburger, nettie hurting her back, sas is taking a break, and ziggy posting again.
I was in the hospital the last 4 days. This stupid psedunomas infection!! My family persuaded me to go the ER Friday, my oldest DD said mama please you don't look good. Okay, so I went and had to stay too long. But, I know the drill at least 2 weeks of IV antibiotics. I will also have surgery early next week to "clean" out this area again that is infected.
Last chemo will not happen this week and not sure now when it will. trying to keep my spirits up, but it is hard. I have alot of family members putting their 2 cents in about switching doc's and that just adds to the stress. I also feel somewhat devestated by this because I don't know that I could ever risk another big surgery for my recon given aaaaaallllll this issues I've had.
Anyway, did ya'll see the video posted that BCO posted on Facebook of Vinnie doing tats?
-
Tang, so sorry you were in the hospital but it sounds like that was better than you being at home. I have to find that FB post of Vinnie.
Speaking of him, he hasn't been around in a while. Was afraid BCO got after him so happy that's apparently not the case.
-
Oh my blessings...fleece blanket AND a robe...hope they get it figured out soon. I have thyroid problems also, but I've never been THAT cold.
Teka, love the pic. And I loved that song when i was a kid.
Chevy...I don't know they word either, so I'll take your explanation. But I do know johnson grass, farmers nightmare.
And I did it, I finished mowing the grass without incident and yes I took the risk and wore flip flops again. Then I picked up GD and we spent an hour in the pool, then we played with the kitties and then went to pond to feed fish. I just took her home and now I'm resting. Been a good day for me. Now if I can sleep tonight....
-
Silly me! When we had a garden 30+ years ago up north, I saw this stuff coming up, and thought it was corn!!! My dad laughed at me, old farm boy. Said it was Johnson grass.
-
tanggggg...this is for you! A beautiful peaceful sunset to make you feel better. Hope you can relax tonight and sleep well. Sorry you are having so many problems. Got you in my pocket
