Repeat after me...I will heal, I will heal, I will heal! That is my prayer for you, a complete healing!
I'm thinking about you!
-
Amen! Praying for your healing. Rest, rest, rest.
-
Thanks all! Don't think its working based on how things look right now, but trying to remain optimistic, and I sure appreciate the prayers!
-
SpecialK - praying that it will heal & quickly so that you don't have to go through all this again.
-
nb - thanks - me too!
-

It's time for our driving odyssey from San Antonio to St. Petersburg. We'll be leaving next week on Wednesday, May 7th and hope to meet some BCO sisters during the trip. We're taking it slow, staying in a lovely old B&B in Louisiana, then with friends we haven't seen for 42 year who live south of Mobile. We'll continue on to Pensacola and down along the Panhandle, meandering through the old coast road. The next stop is in Crystal River to swim with the manatees. We should be in St. Petersburg on Saturday the 9th or Sunday the 10th, depending on what we stop to do along the way.
Except for my daughters' graduation ceremony on Tuesday the 13th, we are free to wander around for the next week. I grew up in St. Petersburg so will spend some time at my two favorite beaches, 60's teen hang out Pass-a-grille, and my adult preference, the end of Ft. De Soto. I'm planning a trip to a lovely tea shop in Dunedin, a visit to Sarasota to see the Ringling mansion (Jr. High field trip) the circus museum & gardens, then down to Ft. Meyers to Sanibel. There's an old friend in Avon Park that I'd like to see as well.
Would love to set up a get together somewhere during the week of May 11-17. Have car, will travel. Where? When?
-
I am in Dunedin, can't place the tea shop. Give me a PM, we can talk. This thread doesn't get active unless there is a meet up being planned
-
Sandra - hoping the damage in Pensacola won't affect your trip. I am uncertain of my schedule because I will most likely be back in the OR again within the next week or so. This group gets together on Saturdays - sometimes at someone's home, sometimes at the Cheesecake Factory at International Mall, or another spot. Although there is not a get-together currently planned it is possible that one can be arranged while you are here - or maybe some individual smaller ones - the OP is usually who spearheads - maybe send her a PM?
-
OP??
Yes, we are watching the news stories carefully. We hope the roads will be repaired by Thursday next week.
-
Sandra - OP - original post(er), or person who started the thread.
-
I saw King Ricky on TV, he mentioned something about I 10. Did it wash out?
Oh, gov Scott
-
The news yesterday said I-10 was closed down in places around Mobile/Pensacola due to water, but I haven't read that the road was washed out. Other roads were, however. We will be driving south from Mobile to Fair Hope, then on to Pensacola so we are concerned. The news said "the beach road" from Gulf Breeze was washed out in some places and that's just where we were planning to go.
-
Ah geeze. Lousy timing, huh? Well, US 19 runs from Tally to here, not a lot of congestion on it. Usually!
-
SpecialK, how are you doing? Please give us an update.
-
MondaysChild, we're gonna have to take her out & get her drunk.
-
Works for me!
-
OMG - you guys are making me laugh! The question is when do we get drunk? Before surgery, because we are sad about losing the implant, if so - we better hurry! Surgery is Fri morning at 9:00 a.m. Or, do we get drunk after surgery, because we are now sad that the implant is gone? Or, possibly, we should do both.
-
You should probably do both. We can join you for the after.
-
dll - ok, I will start now, lol!
-
hi ladies has anyone heard from SAMyoFL? She posted saying she was going into hospice and haven't seen her post. I'm worried. She and I went through chemo together in 2010 and Miss her posts
-
Maureen - I don't recall seeing her post on this thread, but it is concerning that she has not posted since. I went back and read the post from March that discussed entering hospice. Is she registered on the address book, and is there any way to contact her family?
-
That is concerning, Maureen. I do hope we learn something. SpecialK, Mondays Child, others - I was just thinking of a Ladies Night at Timpanos on Tuesday night. Some how I doubt you'd make it then K, but we can hoist one in your honor!
-
Hello ladies!
Special K...I will be praying that tomorrow's surgery goes well and you will heal up quickly once the implant is out. Sending hugs! And if you want I can send some gin too!
-
Lee7 - lol on the gin! I forgot about that. I am hopeful that once the implant is removed I will heal much more quickly than I have been. Actually any healing would be better than what I have been doing! PS says that the implant is holding the unhealed area open much like a pierced earring holds the hole in your ear open - if you stop wearing earrings the holes close. Hope he is right! We will soon find out.
-
SpecialK, I'm rooting for you this morning. You will do great. Just look at all of that experience!
Galsal, I am up for this Tuesday. Anyone else?
