Chevy that's so me. Good Morning Miss Sunshine--I hope u have a good day and may just try stying off u'r feel--I know u can do plenty off u'r feet--we all know.
-
Went and had a meter read yesterday. Experimented. Took, laptop, toothbrush(third brush, first two had been pitched), peri bottle, glove box, remote to bed, remote to TV , telephone base disconnected from phone, kindle, purse, med box that was setup for first three days with intent of pitching it, standard med box, mouse separate. All were bagged separately. I read a book in the first 24hrs , a paperback. Wish I had had that, but i pitched it as soon as I was done reading it.
The TV remote was the only thing higher then the others. Since it was used last and covered with a baggy. We think it must be a component in the unit. So, may follow up on that.
Was going to have doc do each body part. But he said he couldn't b/c it still would pick up from my neck. He did relent and do my bladder and butt. Neck a 10, Bladder an eight.
Only figured out how to separate things this morning. I could have asked for a thyroid shield from the xray department. He's never had anyone do this before. Would have loved to be able to each body part. Particularly, hands. second to the bladder. Hands b/c of initial contamination before I started to use gloves. Bladder b/c it's the primary route for getting rid of the radioactive material. It's the most concentrated area secondary to the neck.
In regard to the bladder, it indicates that continued water drinking to get it to flush frequently is indicated---peeing. So bathroom ritual will continue. And drinking fluids.
Almost fired him though. Nurse didn't document initial weight, then lied, then documented the lie. Called her on it. Monday will talk with RO. My error was talking to her direct, I should have talked with RO as her supervisor, and let him handle it. To threatening to have me talk direct. It's a standard supervision thing. I let my being pissed get in the way.

Chevy aw thanks
Cami, absolutely right RE; Being a member of the TOP DOGs team.. The coolest thing, was when an OR member was having surgery on themselves or a family member, and they asked for particular people to be assigned. That was considered a great honor.
-
Cami, there were 5 PS's that worked in the OR where I worked. They all thought they were TOP DOGs. I did get thrown out by one PS. He brought his nephew to work one day. He wasn't a medical student of anything. I was assigned to set up a second room for the PS, so, he could move from last to next case faster. This nephew walks into the room and I find out who he was. He'd been with his Uncle PS all day. I objected to him being in the room, refused to have him there b/c he was not an employee, had no medical reason to be there, it was a breach of patient privacy. This was almost three decades before Hippa
Patients were informed by the written consent that students may be in the room. But these were medical and nursing students. They never held instruments, or were at the table. They were allowed to scrub and glove, but that was really only done to keep them clean, and immobile. They were put on a standing stool so they could see what was happening.
There was a trouble on this one b/c PS was allowing Nephew to hold retractors and whatelse, I don't know b/c I hadn't been in the other room. BUT NOT IN MY ROOM. The circulator RAN the room. We even told the docs what to do to a point. OR manager, then director were called, PS was pitching a fit. The Director disallowed the nephew from being there. The PS asked( yelled more like it) for a new circulator. I was relieved by another nurse.. He refused to have me circulate for him for almost a year. LOL.
They rewrote the policy to assure this didn't happen again.
-
Retrospectively, I missed the OR the most over four decades. The teamwork of that area is the highest. No other area could compare. I did try to developed those concepts in the paramedics.
-
Okay, but what if they get somebody like Chevy who wears those little thong things that could only fit a pinkie. Or what if the person's going commando or their elastic's all stretched out? Then what? And really I still don't see how underwear is strong enough to hold your hands in place.

Good morning girls! One day of testing down, two more to go. It is hard to walk or sit with everyone crowded in my pockets, but that's the way I like it.
Cammi, you never ramble. Or if you do I don't mind at all or even notice. Now Chevy, that girl can go on and on talking about hands in edible underwear and such and embarrassing me. It's bad enough to see the al bundy picture and know I must have looked like that. And I also got a bruise on my nose, so I can only imagine what fun they had putting my face in god knows what places! Maybe balancing beer bottles on my nose while hands were in underwear.
Sas, I was a veterinary nurse in my former life and veterinary nurses have to do everything from surgery, radiology, anesthesia, etc. sometimes all at the same time! It can be an adrenaline rush. And I was just as protective and caring about my animal patients as if they were humans. Because my animals are family and I'd want the same care for them. What I didn't like was that money talks. Animals that were owned by rich clients or racehorses that came with dollar signs. When I worked at a famous large animal hospital, my own life was valued far less. If you got kicked by a multimillion dollar racehorse, they'd run over to make sure his hoof was ok! It was so stressful in the OR and anesthesia. I had to calculate anesthetic dosages for 1500 lb horses, (which was triple scrutinized) stand and hold a bazillion dollar horse and make sure he fell properly in a padded room while trying not to get crushed, strap him up and using a hoist move him to the OR, and then incubate and monitor anesthesia all while the owner, trainer, and insurance agent looked over your shoulder. Of course there was a whole team of people working together, but you just knew one false move or simple mistake would be your head.
Now this is rambling at its finest!
Thinking back on my scary racehorse days makes ledge dancing with the zigster a piece of cake!
-
Good Morning! I like it here. I scramble to read the ramble so please don't stop or apologize for it .
-
OK I'm putting my ugly pic. here cuz no one has really seen me and then u'll understand why--and remember I'm 69 with a lot of crazy hard years behind me. LO
-
-
Ahhh. Cami, you are beautiful ! Thanks...I will get DD to teach me how to take photos off DH laptop & transfer them to the IPAD...
-
Hole of course u'r going to say that but what is beautiful is the scarf I have on is made by Chevy, Love the color
-
Cami you are beautiful and exotic. The scarf is pretty too.
-
I do like the scarf and the beautiful lady wearing it. You look like just like your words ... gentle, kind, loving, and playful. Thank you for being you.
-
hi all, I'm hopelessly behind so just jumping in. LOVE the pic Cammi and Sassy glad you're OK. Here's a song for you by one of my favorite songwriters Steve Goodman, "Watching Joey Glow".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpfkDEBno1M
Love & Hugs & Prayers to all! ♥
-
OMG Cammi you are GORGEOUS. Hubba bubba, baby.
I had to come looking for you, Chevy and Sassy, again, miss you little critters.
-
Oh Shell u silly.nWe're here most of the day and at night when we can't sleep, which can be often on and off. How the hell are u.?
Badger I'm glad u stopped in hope everything is OK.
Sas how are u doing? Are u almost done? To me, doing all of that would take every ounce of mental strength out of me reading constantly all the things to do, and I'd still screw up. And on top of it u find better ways---it wouldn't even dawn on me.
Question, a simple one--what does it mean to have a HIGH white count.? Told u it was simple I think it means u'r body is fighting an infection, but then again I think a fever means that too. My answer to most things. LOL
-
cami, you are beautiful! And you have that special playful glint in your eye that means you know something we don't. I always wondered what your profile pic is of. Can't quite see it. One time I even asked my husband if he could see it better and he said "no. But I bet it's something illegal" ha ha... Cam-illegal
The scarf is really pretty. Nice job Chevy!
Badger, funny song!
-
Cami, you look exactly how I pictured you! A sweet kind lady! Love the scarf.
-
Badger aka I know again LOL, Funny song, way to funny since I'm studying the nuclear regulatory commission and the Code of Federal Regulations CFR.
All---- studying again LOL. I'm brilliant. LOL
Shellshine nice to see you sweetie hope all is well with DH and DS
DS closed on his house YESTERDAY AFTERNOON . Said thanks mom(gift money for closing) THEN LAYS ON ME HE'S BEEN SEEING A GIRL FOR A FEW WEEKS. We chat a little. Last two sweethearts were major big time maintenance. I said is she blondie-yes(last two were), has she got a sense of humor -yes(last two selective to group which means their inner circle), Last question is she HIGH MAINTENANCE--ANSWER -----TADA NO-------yay.
Cami, the more I study, the longer this is going to be LOL. Learning lots. Truly I think you have a very EXOTIC look . Throw that scarf over your shoulder , turn a shoulder, raise that hip, a come hither look
Look I found a pic Mata Hari. No joke, you did say you were retired from government work. No wonder you had all those husbands. How could they resist you.
-
I'm LOLin so hard--mysterious? it's old age and I asked my DD if she knew how to phtochop it and she laughed and said I barely know how to do the picture, Joey does that. Chit I really cudda looked better, but that's me so no more mysteries ladies I am what I am.
Oh my DD! wasn't feeling well so of course I didn't go cuz she was mostly in bed and I'm fine here, but Joey left (sob) cuz Cheyenne (her bonusD) was waiting for him--so they can just pick him up tomorrow and go straight to thir BD party Marty GM0who's 89 and his sister (a day apart) live near there so, they'll bring home some cake for me--well they usually do like I really need it---I was invited but if it's really warm it's not bad cuz u can sit outside--but they have the smallest house I have ever seen--having people in it is unreal--it's one bedroom that's the size of a big walk-in closet and a small gally kitchen and a small diningroom and living room. They did fix the basement into a bedroom and put a bedroom over the garage, cuz they had 3 kids--but it's like to many people and I feel so closed in, isn't that silly why I can't go--I used to years ago but now I can't and wtih only 1 bathroom I get really antsy too. I'm crazy I know, but there are some on here who are too, No names mentioned but the first 2 letters are Ch ending in y--but no names.
Oh Sas u'd better be absolutely fine after this, u'r the best nurse u could have, that's for sure. And u'r doing this all by yourself. U'r something else.
-
Hey CamI, finally getting caught up on this thread...I think

Tang, so sorry you're going thru tough times now. You can get thru tx, whine if you need to.
YearsMany, many years com now when you are very old, living in the retirement, after a very happy life, you will be glad you did.Sassy, your brilliance truly amazes me! Wish I understood most of it.
Chevy, that's my philosophy exactly about the pj's. Oh, I picked up a couple skeins of the scarf yarn, need to make a couple gifts. Thanks again for sharing the instructions!

Soory you missed the outing , but understand the tight quarters feeling.......did you say closet?
Pawprint and Maddy ---you're looking BEAUTIFUL and HAPPY YAY
Just a guess based on the salad bowl and china pattern --you were at Olive Garden? Trivial pursuit---did I get it right?
-
Jwooohoot flashback to the first TV episode of MASH. Me to DH "There's no way they'll make it, they can't make it better than the movie" Watched the last episode 20 years later? Edit checked IMDB 1972 to 1983---would have sworn it lasted longer than that --be back, can't be. Yup last episode Feb 28th 1983. We still get it nightly 41 years later. Some of my predictions do go wrong LOL. But my predictions did get better with age and seasoning
-
Love the pics!
-
Back to studying LOL. DBF couldn't take it--he went to find work LOL
