Bird Watching Club

I'm envious of the bird watching spots! Pools and lakeside cabins.
I'm sure I'll miss some of the pics, but here goes...
Northern mockingbird
western scrub jay
White throated sparrow (patch behind stripe differentiates from crowned)
great egret
black phoebe (flycatcher)
red tailed hawk
evening grosbeak female
mourning dove
yellow throated vireo

Fiercebluebird, I'm in awe of your identification skills. Have you been a bird watcher for a long time? Or worked in the field? DS and DIL can do that, but they worked in the field for some time. They met when she took his bird banding class.
-
That sounds like love at first sight Wren! They should have exchanged bird bands when they got married. LOL!
I've been birding for a long time. My eyesight is not that good anymore and even looking at the computer screen bothers me a bit. But getting better everyday.
-
Thanks for your birding skills. I take pictures and have no idea what they are.
-
There's also the *Any Hummingbird Watchers Out There?* thread!
-
I took these in Florida when I went to a BCO Chatters get-away
-
saw this last night instead of the birds..
-
Looks Cold!! Brrr
-
up there, not here
-
Today, 40*F in the North Country. Chilly!
-
I was back at the beach this morning
-
What great pictures! I am no photographer, but a HUGE bird lover (my family calls me the crazy bird lady
). Love all the pictures - glad I can creep here!!!
-
I'm lurking here, too, whenever a new pic is posted. I'd LOVE to get great shots like these! What kind of cameras do you all have? I've always been kind of a shutterbug, so I have photo-envy, but for now I'm satisfied with just enjoying all of yours!
-
I was a shutterbug with my 35mm and all the lenses but the cost of processing color negatives and photos kept my picture taking at a minimum. When digitals came out I swore that I would get rid of all my lenses and just have fun...no processing fees..
so I had one of the first few digital cameras which were horrid..but now I have a Canon powershot SX 50..that is a 50 times optical lens and I generally let the camera be smart for me..and no lenses to change...
-
I'll have to keep that one in mind - thanks, Lisa!
-
I have a Cannon powershot 1300. It's good but not super duper. I fear the real expertise is in the eye of the person holding the camera. My niece has a nikon digital with awesome lenses. Her photos are so good that we're urging her to have a show. She's also an artist.
-
Tell her to go for it!!!
-
I wish Tiny Fishy could teach us all.Mum, give him a hug for me.
-
this little bird has the sweetest song
-
Oooooo - nice pic. Would love to hear him.
Here's a fun pic for you bird lovers
It's still in the 30's here in Minnesota
-
bc101.... LOL!
-
AND it's snowing again. Oh well, what's one more snowstorm?
Poor Robins....
-
-
Wren, keep encouraging her. Sometimes it takes a little nudge to have confidence in yourself.
Lisa I can hear that sparrow from here! Don't you just love when a bird is singing its heart out? Unless of course it's a mockingbird at 3 am!

A bird's version of a chat room
