Day #57
Today I am grateful that I am not alone. I have good friends, a super family and all my friends at BCO to keep me company when I'm feeling a bit down or hurting. Thanks
-
Curveball YEAH - you must be dancing in the streets!
Grateful that my appointment with onc and Herceptin infusion were all "routine"
-
grateful for the wonderful brunch I had with friends this morning.
-
I'm grateful for the ability to do things ourselves. We grew up poor, so probably out of necessity we learned to do a lot of our own work.
-
@Nel, I was in the street, but not dancing. I'm too stiff! I am grateful that the melatonin suggested by naturopathic oncologist seems to be helping me sleep more soundly. I have been waking up 2-3 times a night before I started taking it.
-
ah, time to catch up yet again
Day 56: grateful for sleep and lots of it. Seemed like I couldn't stay awake much all day
Day 57: grateful for my parents who set such a loving example of being married. Also, grateful for my the few friends I have left who still are there for me when I feel so very alone. Thank you to my BCO friends too
-
DAY 58
Grateful for that my chickadees are back and eating from my bird feeder ......they make me smile !
Have a great day ladies
-
Grateful that the sun is out. 21 degrees, but sun. Just going to ignore the info about a "titan" of a storm on Monday, going to cover my ears and keep moving forward
-
Day 58
Today I am grateful for my Jacuzzi. I took 2 baths last night just so the jets could pound on my aching back. I am sooo clean today. Lol
-
I am grateful that the wind isn't blowing today (it was gusting at 50mph yesterday, with accompanying ground blizzard & wind chill warnings).
-
I'm grateful for my little dog spunky laying beside me on the couch. She's just a little bucket of love.
-
I have two days to catch up.
Yesterday I was grateful to be able to see the Inca Gold exhibition at the National Gallery........it was amazing!!!
Today I am grateful to be catching up with another BC sister for lunch.......can't wait!!!
-
I have been depressed and in pain the last few days. It's been a struggle for me to come up with something I'm grateful for. I've not been responding to your posts either so...
Ziggy - green shoots, where do you live? My backyard is still full of snow. Have fun in you're trip to warm weather. Hope it's good enough for swimming.
Hbcheryl - Baby giggles are the best!
Curve - Yay for the sink done and no more garage dish washing. What a pain!
Pooh - I wish I had a sister and 2 brothers but I'm a homely child. I love chickadees. They make me giggle with their fast paced antics.
Nel - Routine test are good! Ostrich!!! The snow and wind are coming, believe it!
Ruth - I smiled at your comment about brunch with friends . No wind is good. But did you have to send it here?? We are frigid! Weather-wise. Lol
Susie - doing our own work is important. Spunky sounds cute.
Maddy - Yay Maddy got some quality sleep! I'd like to say that about my parents. Yours sound nice. Friends are important that's true, and you've got us! Love you.
Chrissy - Inca Gold - cool wanted to see it when it was here but family said... boring. Who you meeting up with for lunch? (((hugs)))
-
Day 58: grateful for rain last night. Beautifully sunny today, the ground gets to dry out before a new storm comes in tomorrow. I can see snow-topped mountains from my kitchen window.

Red ...Sorry you are feeling so crappy ......Hope you feel better soon ......You doing ok with the rads?
-
Onco - ice skating? Eww. Lol just kidding.
Pooh - nope I'm doing terribly with rads. But I can live thru it. 40 mins yesterday and 31 today. Long time to hold a pose. Passed out coming from the tub tonight. My dog got my DH who helped me down the stairs then sliced his thumb open on the loose bannister. I went into full panic mode, but eventually fixed him up with Smurffette bandaids.
I need some time off. This is kicking my butt. To those of you who went through rads easy peasy, I salute you. This girl is waving the white flag!
-
Red, when is your last rads? We can count down with you & have a party at the end!
-
Red - I did not have an easy time either. I got dizzy sometimes; my voice had a hoarseness; I tired easily. and my skin burned a bit the last week. But you will bounce back quickly! This too will pass : )
Today I am grateful for my kind hearted husband of 22 years. He looked a little drained and exhausted today (after taking a call from his feuding siblings over estate matters). I think I need to learn to appreciate him a bit more!
-
Red - this line taken out of context is precious -
"Pooh - I wish I had a sister and 2 brothers but I'm a homely child. I love chickadees. They make me giggle with their fast paced antics."
I'm in Ohio - we had one warm day when I could see shoots & then it has snowed, and snowed, and snowed...
OKAY - Yesterday I was grateful that I was able to be with my mom on her 86th birthday (I'm with her everyday, but birthdays are special).
And today, I am grateful that I didn't have to spend the whole entire day with my mom (God forgive me please, I do love her).
-
I'm grateful I was able to go for a walk again today.
-
grateful for the much needed rain but not so grateful for the whiney cat who woke me up at 4am cause he didn't like the rain, he wanted to go out but didn't want to get his very delicate feet wet!!
Ziggy I'm so envious, hug your Mom for all of us that don't have ours, I miss mine so much, in August she'll be gone 30 years and there isn't a day that's gone by that I haven't thought about her or missed her.
-
Red I met up with one of the Aussie girls, Trish. She lives about a half hour away from my brother so it was a good opportunity to say hi before I leave tomorrow.
This is us.
Today I am doubly grateful for wonderful friendships made on BCO.
-
Today grateful for friends coming to visit tonight...and yes I made ANOTHER cheesecake .........
Crissyb ...nice picture ...great smiles !!! are you on left or right ?
Red..... why do you have to hold the pose that long ...that's terrible ????? Mine were only about 2 to 3 minutes total each time ? hope it gets better for you .....sending positive vibes from the east coast. ( You might want to have your Iron levels checked ...mine went way down during rads and was prescribed iron pills).
Have a good weekend
-
cheryl - Thanks for the reminder, my dad passed away last year and I am living with my mom, she has dementia so it can be hard to be patient sometimes (the same questions asked over and over again). But she is also a treasure - very happy most of the time and works on having a really good attitude and demands very little. I'm very lucky to be able to spend this time with her.
Pooh - that cheesecake you made is beautiful. Yum.
Red - I am really sorry that you're having a rough time with the RADS. They went pretty easy for me, but it had noting to do with stoicism or not complaining - if I've learned one thing through this process it's that we all react differently to any treatment we get and the treatment aren't all the same. I have (my whole life) had some episodes of dizziness - they tend to happen when I change positions (go from crouching to standing) or getting out of a hot bath/Jacuzzi /shower. When I had chemo the worst SE that I had was that I just could not stand up for any length of time without getting horribly dizzy. This happened again just recently after my exchange surgery - heart racing, light headedness, etc. So I completely sympathize with you. Have they done a blood panel on you lately? Low red blood cell counts seem to be a big part of it. ((hugs))
Chrissy - That is a lovely picture. You can tell how very happy the two of you are to see each other.
Today I am grateful that the sun is shining, the icicles are dripping, and soon I think I'm going to be able to see those little green shoots again.
-
I am grateful that today is a beautiful early spring day. Maybe I'll go outside after lunch.
-
Red, I'm so sorry you're feeling poorly. That can get us down, just keep remembering that this to shall pass. Get your mind set that you will get through it and do whatever is needed to come out the other side of treatment and return to a normal life. ((Hugs))
Today I'm grateful to have seen an old friend.
-
Red - thinking about you. Let us know how many more days and as said before we will count down with you!
I continue to struggle with a bit of a funk - but trying to be grateful to be here and well enough to be coordinating a great weekend for girls with disabilities. 2 years ago I had just finished chemo and had surgery.
-
Day #59
Today I am grateful that I had only 1 pic and adjust before rads. They think they finally got it right. Apparently, my breast has shrunk enough that I was no longer getting full coverage. This is why I had to be still for all that time. it killed my back though.
Anyway, I feel much better today, thanks for all the support. O and my last day is March 18th, which is also my very special birthday. I was born in '57 and I will turn 57 that day. It's cool to me at least, but I'm a nerd so I like number things.
-
Red-Hang in there!
I am grateful watching the 4 year old grandson dancing!
