100 Days of Gratitude
Comments
-
I'm grateful for a beautiful sunny day to sit outside and visit with my mom. Looking at her today in the bright sunshine, she has aged so much since my dad passed away last July. That makes me sad.
-
Grateful for the wonderful lunch my DH made for us today. He has learned to cook really well since we married 9 years ago. I am a fortunate woman to have this precious man as my husband.
-
Today I am grateful for canned food. I am getting over a cold and didn't feel like cooking lunch. I have the second half of a can of baked beans to eat for dinner, too.
-
Curve, baked beans on toast is one of my favourite can't be bothered cooking meals.
Grateful for lunch with the wonderful San Diego ladies today, always fun to get together with BCO ladies IRL
-
never heard of baked beans on toast. Are the beans warmed or straight from the can? I have no appetite, couldn't think of anything appetizing forget that DD and DH were expecting a big dinner. When I asked for suggestions they just scowled at me. So, fooled them both and just made grilled cheese and tomato soup for myself. Thinking they could have cereal because I'm not cooking.
Day 54: grateful I slept thru the night and most of the day. No energy to go pick up my Rx's, so grateful did it for me. Maybe the anti-b's will kick this sinus infection and return some energy to me. Popsicles have been wonderful too
-
Maddy Heinz English baked beans hot, you get them at Fresh and Easy. Sorry you're feeling yuk, get better soon.
-
thanks, Cheryl! Will also have to check them out
-
I've never had beans on toast either. What memories are prompted by "grilled cheese and tomato soup". That's some real comfort food there, but it has to be American "cheese" (or Pasteurized Process Cheese Food, as I think the law now requires it to be labeled), bacon & tomato for the sandwich, and Campbell's Tomato Soup made with half milk/half water instead of just water. My mom used to make that for us for lunch sometimes when I was a kid.
I hope you feel better soon 2TA. I had sinusitis once and it really laid me low. Take your antibiotics and sleep a lot, that will drive away those pesky germs infesting your sinuses.
-
Grateful for living 8 minutes from the hospital ......on my way to get my zoladex shot this morning .
-
Grateful for the sun here this Am and for enjoying the day yesterday with my bff, dinner and a great show
-
Maddy, hope you get better soon. My DD added you.
I've never heard of baked beans on toast either. Beefaroni on toast, yes bit not beans. Hmm. I'll try it.
Day #55
Today I am grateful to have the life that I do. Ups and downs, sure, but on the whole it is a happy life.
-
RED ...Life is definately full of ups and downs ........
-
I think today I am grateful my cold is just an ordinary cold and doesn't appear to be turning into a major illness like last month. I think I am on the mend.
-
I am grateful that I live in a small town
-
I'm grateful for leftover chicken.
-
grateful for the most helpful Tekkie I encountered today, new update on my work program that confused the heck out of me but after waiting on the phone for 30 minutes he walked me through the changes, explained everything in plain English and didn't make me feel like a fool
-
Day 55: grateful I had ingredients in the pantry and house to make a meal without having to go to the store
Thanks, Red!
-
today I'm grateful that my brother is an excellent cook and made a wonderful dinner.........I am now replete and ready for sleep!
-
Day 56 ( I think )
Grateful for my garage ....and that I don't have to scape the snow and frost off the windows in the morning .
-
Day #56
Today I am grateful that I don't have to attend CD7 - a week long conference at work that decides what we are doing for the next 3 months. Just tell me please, and I'll do my best. :-)
-
RedReading - I hear ya! Having just finished a day long retreat for the organization I work for. One day is plenty, 3 days save!
Grateful for this thread, even when I am tending toward a funk - this reminds me I have so much to be grateful for and perks me up.
-
I'm grateful for music.
-
Me too Ruth
-
So grateful for the wonderful novelists out there. Now I am reading all of the books of John Grisham.
-
I'm grateful for the love of my family.
-
Today I'm grateful that I could visit my nieces school for their presentation assembly........so lovely to see the little ones!
-
Oh I am so far behind;
I am grateful for all the info that you all gave me on taking care of the drain hole - so far so good, no infection or sloshing.
I am grateful that I get to go somewhere warm coming up here soon - it will be a short trip but hopefully will be able to swim.
I am grateful that there are little bits of the green shoots of snowdrops and crocuses poking their way through the still frozen ground - sure sign that Spring is in fact coming this year.
I am grateful that I have a piece of cheesecake in the refrigerator because it is going to make the perfect pre-midnight snack.
I think that catches me up - also, I was reading the posts about baked beans on toast. When I was a kid and a lot of the cousins were together (which meant 30 or so hungry children) one of my aunts would brown some ground beef along with some chopped onions and green pepper, mix it with baked beans and some ketchup and a little brown sugar and stick a big vat of it in the oven for a few hours - it was great on white bread with a little butter. Everybody from the youngest kids to the adults liked it. Could be made in a crock pot too, I'm sure.Curveball - I can't believe that you've been having to do your dishes in the garage - that is so much extra work when you are feeling fatigued anyway. Hope that you're back to a simpler set-up soon.
-
grateful that I got to spend some time tonight with a friends baby boy, he's 3 months old and I got lovely smiles and goggly gook chatter that made me smile
-
I'm grateful that today the plumbers came and hooked up my kitchen sink. No more washing the dishes in an unheated garage!!
-
Grateful for my sister and 2 brothers. Just Love em
