So grateful for my wonderful friend, Suzanne, who is my movie companion every Tues afternoon.  She is a new friend but it seems we have known each other forever.

Oh I am so so so so grateful that tomorrow I get this drain taken out. YAY! It's actually still draining too much after 39 days, but has pulled out of my body about 3 inches and lost suction so I cut the bulb off. Now it's leaking all over me. I will be SO happy to have it gone. AND I'm getting catalogs for flowers that need to be planted in spring... life is good.

Lol.. I just 'accidentally' pulled the drain out. Oops.

Honeybair - It's lovely when a new friend feels like one you've had forever.

I am grateful for my mom, sister and BIL, they came and visited me yesterday and took me out to lunch. My sister had a job interview this afternoon.

oooh ziggypop, I remember drains. Mine was soooo irritating. I it was "only" in for 3 weeks unlike yours for more than a month, but it was a happy day when that thing went away.

Day 49: grateful I got some tasks done around the house I've been avoiding: cleaned the stovetop and raked a bunch of leaves

Curve, glad you got to spend time with your family and they took you to lunch. If your sister did well on the interview, does it mean she and BIL will be closer to you?

Red you will do just fine with your rads, the idea is way scarier than the reality.

Today I'm grateful the cooler weather has arrived and it looks like the beginning of Autumn!.....yay!!!

Oooo Zig, do take care to keep the area where your drain was super clean as that wound is deep!

@2TA, yes it does, which may or may not be a good thing! My sister and I are living proof that astrology is a bunch of hoooey—our birthdays are only five days apart and we are not quite a year different in age, but on totally different wavelengths as the saying goes. But my sister has been looking for a job for such a long time, I hope for her sake she gets it. Also, if my mom outlives me it will be a good thing if there is another child living nearby. My sister now lives in the San Diego area, and my brother lives in NY. It would not be so good if Mom had any kind of emergency and the nearest child was a thousand miles away instead of less than a hundred.

@ziggypop, also keep an eye out for a sloshing appearance under the skin, which could mean fluid is building up now that the drain is no longer removing it. I had that happen after my drain was pulled. The surgeon's nurse removed the fluid and it was quick and painless.

@chrissyb, happy fall. I am always eager to see autumn approaching after the hot summer weather, and our hot weather here in Washington state is nowhere near as hot as where you live.

@RedReading, I will get in your pocket today, and invite you to mine tomorrow for my next doxil infusion.

today I'm grateful that the rain held off long enough for me to go for my walk without getting soaked.

grateful that the slush has dried up enough so I dared take my poor, dirty car through the car wash.

Day 50: grateful for a very persistent friend. I thought I was responding to texts from her thoughout the day, but apparently the texts weren't being sent. She started worrying that I wasn't responding and several hours later I finally figured out what was happening. Then, it was easily fixed by turning off my cell and restarting.

    Hello mapgirl12!

    I think I missed yesterday, so I have 2.

I'm grateful for the meal planners that I sat down and put together. It makes dinner a no brainer, literally.

I'm grateful for kitchen dancing, you know it's been a good day when you find yourself singing and dancing around the kitchen as you prepare your families meals. Love my music.

I am grateful for crock pots, so I was able to do all the work of fixing dinner before going out for chemo and a class this afternoon. Tuckered out now. Nighty night.

yay for crock pots or slow cookers, they're the best

Congrats Red! When do you get to see the baby?

Day 51: grateful I got a bunch of chores done today: cleaned DH's filthy bathroom, washed cats' litter boxes and found enough items in the fridge and freezer to pull a dinner together without having to go to the store. There's been a hummingbird (or two) hanging around the feeder outside my kitchen window and saw an unusually bright blue bird sitting on the patio cover. Wished I had my cell handy to snap a photo.
