Onco, I'm sorry but I need to ask for more info from you. You seem very nice, but there is zero info on you and we have lately been inundated by spam. Plus after only 12 posts, you are using my friends byline.

CC - Yay girl. Yes you are indeed the friend I was referring to. OK, so Onco Warrior now eh? I will definately not call you On Cow! (although secretly I think that is very funny, but you don't know that cuz it's a secret) Can I get On Cow for my car? Will it give me directions? OK I'll stop now. ((((hugs friend))))

Grateful that DS, who was driving out on the very bad roads for business, made it back home safe and sound.

Onco = CC (On Cow), too funny!!

    Chrissy, let it rain!

Day 44: got an unexpected email from a long-time family friend (should have been my SIL but it didn't work out that way, boohoo). She has a Valentines birthday, so I've been thinking of her lately. Hallmark used to carry special cards but we don't any more Hallmark stores around here. She's one of kindest people, she always remembers my parents' birthdays, anniversary and holidays as well as my birthday and Christmas. One of the closest people I have to a sister.

HBC, DD was down in NB (at the hospital) and went to the beach, in February! What's happening to our weather?

    Day #45

I too am grateful for my DH on Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day or Happy Singles Awareness Day if you currently are mateless.

Pooh it's an upscale sex store, sexy sleepwear, toys, creams etc. I'm sure you have an equivalent down there.

Chrissy hooray for rain, hope it's a good soaking one to help those poor firemen and save the homes of those in the fire's path.

Yay Nel, Have fun in NYC!

Today I'm grateful things are back to normal here. Snow is almost gone and everybody's power is back on so DH doesn't have to put himself in harms way today.

Red the fire is out!!......yay!!!   all the fire fighters were released from duty only to be called back to handle flash flooding........it never rains but it pours ......literally!!!!  Don't worry, I did have a waterfall into and out of my courtyard area and I think half of my topsoil from the garden was washed away but the house and I are high and dry.......the only thing that got wet were my bare feet when I went to check that my animals were okay.

Oh, Chrissy, I am so happy that the fire is out. I've been worried about you and your friends who were in the path of the fire.

    Nel, have fun in NYC!

    red that's really sweet.

I was just in the grocery store and this big hefty country boy (40's) walked up with roses, candy, a huge balloon, and a big personalized heart shaped cookie, all in his arms, no buggy. It got very quiet, he very awkwardly said, what, did I do something wrong? Everybody's staring at me. All the women in the lines were looking at him, including me. Nobody responded, they just stared. I finally said, no I think you've done really well. He said everybody's still staring, I said we're all just jealous, and that broke the silence, everybody started laughing. I think we were all just stunned by this big man in boots who didn't look like the romantic kind buying everything the store sells for his wife.

I am grateful that found a kitchen faucet I like, and can probably order the faucet I want for my hot water dispenser, in time for installation of my countertop, scheduled next Friday.

Happy Valentine's day all. Red - that is precious.

Today I am grateful that I woke up to the sound of icicles crashing down from the sides of the house. Warmer tempatures are in the air and it's supposed to just keep getting warmer - I think we're at a turning point. Not quite time for the crocuses here, but soon.

    Day #46

Today I am grateful for my home that I have lived in for the last 20 years. Only 1 of my 11 gkids can remember us living anywhere else. I like the continuity of that. Nana and papa's place forever.

I'm grateful they're installing my kitchen countertop today.

Curve, it looks like you must be going through a kitchen remodel too. After today, the only thing I will need is a new light fixture to replace the 80's style one we currently have, and maybe some under cabinet lighting.

Red, I'm grateful we've lived in the same place for a very long time too. My niece daughter has been saying, no, you can't change that, it's all I remember being there, she's 30. We have an old seashell shaped sink in the bathroom that she isn't ready to let go yet. I don't like it, would love to change it, but for some reason it's really important to her that the sink stays forever, so it probably will.

@Susie123, yes, I had both my kitchen and bath remodeled. It has taken enormously longer than I expected it to and I am so ready for it to be finished. Like yesterday. Or last month.

But today I am grateful I got a kitchen faucet chosen that is in stock at local home improvement stores and can be picked up in time to install the counter next Friday. That is if the hot water dispenser will fit—it requires a minimum clearance between the hole and the backsplash. I am crossing my fingers that I don't have to go back and start that decision over again.

Susie I totally get that. I was moved around a lot as a kid. I want the continuity too, not just them. Ahhhhh, I'm getting old.
