Ducky, your precious Grayson is such a beauty!  Really getting into the song, too, isn't she?  Obviously she's made remarkable progress in a short time and who knows where she'll go.  Thanks for sharing that with us.

Wow, Ziggy, a doctorate!  What will it be in?  And quitting smoking too.  You go, girl!!

Chrissy, I love the afghan and it would look great with the ice blue background as Barbe said, but I so love the red.  Red is my favorite color, and and the picture  makes me want to wrap up in it!  Hope you have a wonderful and fun visit with your niece and grandnephews.

Nancy, glad the painting's done but sorry you're losing your "helpers"!  And I'm sorry about your hand issues.  I imagine the extreme cold you're having doesn't help any with that.  We've warmed up a good bit here, but are now looking at what the forecasters call a "deluge".

Does anyone else have allergy issues this time of year?  For the past week it seems that all I do is sneeze and I'm getting tired of it.  I know it's not a cold because I don't feel the same way with this. I feel fine, except for the sneezing.  Hope I haven't suddenly become allergic to the dog, because he stays!

Friday tomorrow--and even though I've retired, I still like Fridays!

oh ducky, that little girl is so cute. singing along! loved it!

kathy, thanks for the kind words about my hands. I sit with a heating pad at night which helps a great deal. I really can't tell if the weather impacts them, though. they always hurt. Hope your sneezing eases off, soon. Maybe the "deluge" will knock the allergen triggers down. Is it just me or can we not have just a regular storm anymore? They are always "storm of the decade" or "deluge" or they give them names. No wonder we have trouble sleeping at night, the news and weather people have us in a tizzy most of the time.

Macattack you are spot on! The news bureaus and weather reporters are relentless in promoting fear so that we will listen to them more often for the cure, I suppose. For many years I didn't listen to the news unless there was a major event. My work gave me plenty concerns and I didn't need any additional. Now I listen again part of the time, sadly.

Ducky what a beautiful child, I agree who knows how far she will come. She certainly enjoys music and was singing right along.

Chrissy I like the blue with the white myself but it is a different look than the red which is festive and both are beautiful.

I get allergies this time of year if I am in an antique shop where there is likely mold. I haven't been in one for years now but remember it well. My allergies otherwise relent from late fall until early spring.

I seem to have been ill with the flu for several days but mildly, now my husband has it and our daughter did at the beginning of the week. We have all had our flu shots so this is highly unusual. Many years ago, 25 years, I got the flu full and was very ill, this is much milder but the same. Achy all over. My husband came in from work today and went right to bed.  I have heard this can happen but had no experience with it.

    Have a good day

    Hey there everyone,

Chrissy - glad to hear your good news from you scan results.  Hope the doctor has more good news for you.

I have had a rough couple of months (6) since the Femara stopped working and I was switched to Tamoxifin which did not work at all.  So not I am being switch to Xeloda which kind of scares me a little.  I plan on calling the onc after a while and see why he is not switching me to Arimidex or Aromyasin.  I had an appointment with him last Wed. but had a panic attack while I was there and was not thinking to clearly when he told me about the change.  My port decided that it would not give blood so I had to go to the lab and get stuck and that is what triggered the panic attack.  It took them 30 minutes and 3 sticks to finally get the blood needed for the blood workup!  Needless to say I was a mess by the time I got to see my onco.

I have developed a lot of new issues that have sent my to see more new doctors.  I think last count there were 9 that I see regularly.  I have started having hand tremmors, my legs fall asleep if I sit for more than about 20 minutes, my balance is off and I get dizzy for no apparent reason, my hips and lower back are in constant pain now and in addition to the pain patch I stll have to take additional pain meds everyday.  I am going to see a physical therapist 2-3 times a week and at least he has gotten that awful headache I had from Jan - Nov of 2013 to go away.  And the exercises he has me doing are helping my balance a little and ease some of the pain in my hips and back.

I took a bad fall the other night, scared DH since I fell into the fireplace!  At least there was no fire in it that night.  We had thought about putting on in but we did not want to stay up late until is was burned out so thankfully we did not have one that night.  Nothing was broken, except a small statue we have at the corner of the hearth.  But I am pretty well bruised up and very sore all over. If I had not fallen with my arm between my head and the grate I would have cracked my skull on the grate instead of just getting a nasty bruise on my arm.  DH though for sure I had broken my leg because it was twisted backwards at 2 different angles.  Just have a twisted knee and ankle which makes walking a little more painful.  Oh well all will heal eventually from that.

I am scheduled to have a PET/CT scan this next Tuesday to see where all the progression has been since the Tamoxifin did not work.  The last PET/CT was in July 2013 and there was slight progression then and that was when I was switched from Femara to Tamoxifin.  So we shall see where things stand then.

Hope everyone is haveing a good new year.

    Hugs to all, AJ

Oh AJ, what a HORRID start to the new year!! You must be very concerned as I can hear it in your post. Very frustrating for sure. You are in my prayers as you find out what the heck is going on.

Chrissy, that IS what I meant!! My brain doesn't have to fight the hot/cold concept of the red with snowflakes now....heheheheheeh. Of course, I could have thought of the first one as Christmas, though, I guess.

AmyJo I am so sorry to hear of your fall.Yes,  Thank God there was no fire. That must have been so darn scary!  I hope you heal up quickly. I have removed all the throw rugs from my house. I also stopped wearing my wonderful soft slippers because my foot would just come out of them. I also do not walk our dogs any longer, not even 10 feet since I got pulled over by them. Isn't it amazing the adjustments we have to make.

I go to physical therapy since the car accident in Sept. and they have helped my in a lot of ways. I need to keep going, bad balance and pain is just a big problem. The physical therapists help us all over don't they?

I have also been on Tamoxifen for about 8 months now. I have my full check up next Thursday. I thought it was yesterday and nearly went all the way to Seattle for no reason, so glad my husband dug out my paperwork. I hope your scan is uneventful and your balance and other issues level off soon.

    Love Ginger

Ginger and Barbe, thanks for the kind words and concern.  All you ladies are so wonderful.  My DH said it might be the shoes I was wearing since I fell again yesterday when I started up the stairs and was wearing the same shoes as the other night.  Same leg just would not respond to what my brain was telling it to do.  At least this fall was on carpet and I had hold of the railing so was not nearly so bad as the first one.  So those shoes are going to the back of the closet, (never never land) until I make sure they are or are not the cause.  What is so crazy about yesterday is that I had been walking around just fine before I headed up the stairs.  Have a call into my oncologist  and neurologist to hopefully find out what is going on.

    Love you all, AJ

Oh AJ my lovely!  I am so concerned that you are falling and so close to that fire place as well?  This is not good news and I sincerely hope that your onc and or neurologist have some answers for you. I do wish you had a better result with the AIs and Tamoxifen but I know a few girls on the Xeloda and it is reasonably easy on the SE side of things and seems to be doing good things on the cancer side of things.........sure hope you have a good success with it for yourself.

Chin up my lovely and do take the best care possible of yourself.........know that you are in my prayers.

    Love n hugs.    Chrissy

Oh my goodness, AJ.  This new year's certainly not being kind to you so far!  I'm so thankful you didn't break anything in the fall, and especially thankful that there was no fire in the fireplace!  And falling again?  Yep, those shoes are banished!  I am truly sorry so much has happened to you.  Have you started the Xeloda yet?  I hope your onco and neurologist have come up with a good plan for you, too.  You're always in my prayers.  I think of Kendall often and hope she's doing well.

Chrissy, love the snowflakes on the blue background!  I can't decide which I like better though, the red or the blue.

It will be interesting to see just how many inches of rain we've had today.  The forecasters said it would be a deluge, and for once they didn't exaggerate.  Hope it washed some allergens out of the air!

Must think about something for dinner.  DH had wanted to go out, but don't think we'll go in this rain.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

    Kathy

It is with great sadness that I must tell you of the passing of my father on Friday. I'll be flying to Los Angeles Sunday morning for the funeral and the Shiva (week of mourning). Karen1956 will have my phone number while I'm in the U.S.

May we know no further sorrow.

Leah, I am sorry for the sadness that has come into your life. I hope your trip is safe and uneventful.

elisimo, I hope things turn around for you. I am glad that the falls were no worse. Put those shoes somewhere that they can't be reached! Be thinking of you all day on Tuesday! I have a prayer group in the morning we will lift you up. (hope you don't mind)

Just wanted to let everyone know, the shop is reopening on Tuesday. The new cobbler has gotten the stitchers running so he feels we might as well get it going. I have some more clean up and organizing to do, but we might as well start bringing work in so we can make some cash.

I finally got insurance approval for my new med. I sure hope this helps me to feel better. After I took it yesterday afternoon, I slept until noon today. I think I can finally relax.
