    Morning all.

Saw that programme Chrissy, it was great and for us brought memories of our trip in September. We really love Colorado.

Being lazy this morning because DH is away but must move soon as I am on cat feeding duties for friends. I do have a fat ginger boy sleeping of the bed - he refused his breakfast but looked very well satisfied. I wonder where he had breakfast this morning???

DD1 wants me to go around and help her sort out her clothes as she cannot fit them into the wardrobes!!!!

    Big hugs to all.

I've been away several days due to no internet, also had no phone, and was almost certifiably insane!  Time Warner Cable finally got everything going again today and with  a new router we're back on line.

Chrissy, like all the others,my thoughts and prayers are with you for your scans.  I'm so hoping for good results and know that whatever it is, you'll come through it on top as you have before.  Please keep us posted!  I know worrying does no good, but it's hard not to.

Barbe, so good to see you.  I'm delighted you're back!!

Really really cold here tonight.  Weather warnings all over, and already a two-hour school delay in effect.  It's supposed to be 9F or lower, and we're simply not equipped to deal with such temperatures here.  At least the weather is clear and we have no snow or ice!

Kathy, with no snow or ice, what would cause a 2-hour delay? I'm picturing people walking outside and becoming "frozen" in your, what, mid-40's temperature....hehehehehhe We were -40 yesterday....

LOL, Barbe!  But no mid-40's here in sight.  We got to 7F last night.  I think the delays (and they were everywhere surrounding us) were due to the fact that the school buses here are not equipped to travel in such unusual cold and the fact that most children who ride them have to stand outside and wait for the bus.  We're about 25 miles from Charlotte.  Oh well, my DD, who teaches, was happy about it.

Well girls you can all breathe a sigh of relief as I will be hanging with you all for a lot longer yet.   All tests have come back neg for BC progression but positive for arthritis progression.........yay for arthritis!.......lol.  chest CT shows chronic inflammatory disease in my middle lobe left side and this would explain why I keep loosing my breath.........Neck CT shows some nodes up and they are suggesting an MRI to get a better view but have reported no mets that can be seen on CT.  CT cervical spine shows lots of degeneration due to arthritis but no disc misalignments so that's a good thing.   Guess I will have to wait until Friday when I see the doc to hear what his thoughts on the matter are.

    Take care and stay warm!

    Love n hugs.    Chrissy

Been thinking about you today Chrissy, but then I get confused if my tuesday is your tuesday or wednesday or monday? I agree with the ladies that you have a wonderful attitude and spirit about you.

thanks for the warm hug, Alyson we need it here. But today I took a short walk on the beach with the dog. The sun was shining and the wind was not too strong, it felt good to get out in the fresh air. The snow is gone and it is much easier to walk without the ice chunks.

The painters are back at my house. They have taken over my office now. But they should be done tomorrow or the latest Thursday morning. The work in the shop has slowed down too, because the guy has to shop for a new car. So it feels like my life is in disarray with both areas being in process of remodeling. I keep telling myself it is just a little bit longer.

heard from my DD today, right after the news said that some people had been caught in an avalanche at the mountain she works at in Colorado. Whew!!!  She called to let me know that one of the top orthopedic docs is going to do surgery on her hip in the spring. So looks like I'll be traveling west in May. Better than in the snow and ice, I think.

just saw the good news, Chrissy, good for you!!!!

Isn't it great that we love arthritis? Actually I hate it but would rather have that than mets.

Have sewn all day except going for a walk.

Mac we are ahead of you - it is just after 6.05pm here and  4.35 where Chrissy is, on Wednesday. You have just made it to Wednesday.

    Big hugs

I imagine you can hear the collective sigh of relief all the way in Australia, Chrissy!  Sorry about the arthritis progression, of course, but happy that's what it was rather than bc.  I hope your doctor is helpful on Friday.

Nancy, sorry you're in disarray at home but I'm so glad your daughter's safe.  Good that she called right after you heard about it, too, because I can just imagine how you felt.  And at least you don't have to go to Colorado now, too!  Not a good time, I'd say, but know you'd go if you had to.

Ladies, I know you folks from Canada, the midwest, New England, etc will laugh, but I know I wasn't meant for such cold as we're having here now.  This is the South, for goodness sake.  We drink iced tea all winter and now the news talks about how to avoid frostbite.  We don't have clothes for this weather!

ChrissyB, great news on your test results.  Funny you should mention congestion in your lungs.  I caught a virus over 3 months ago, and the first symptom was that I couldn't breathe, then I had the normal high temp, aches & pains, and runny nose.  All of the symptoms cleared up except for the cough and congestion which I still have very bad, and finding it hard to breathe still.  Feels like I have congestion on my chest still.

I  have to wonder, I have found taking Femara for the last 6 years that it seems to home in on a body part that is weak and causes pain and symptoms for many months before moving on to another body part.  I am considering stopping the Femara for a few weeks to see if the chest problem clears up, as I feel the Femara is contributing to the symptoms not clearing up.

Let us know how you get on with your next appointment re lungs.  Go and have a good night, and enjoy the wonderful feeling of escaping bad news.

I agree that arthritis can be pretty horrid, too. I have it pretty bad and when the bones on my spine were actively growing up and around the nerves, I asked an orthopedic surgeon if they could radiate my spine to stop the growth. He said it's not done for my kind of arthritis, but is done for other kinds (rheumatic). Duh! Just do it!!! ANYthing to stop the bone growth!!! They just let me suffer....sigh. I told him I was willing to be a guinea pig while the bone was actively growing to see if it would stop. He wouldn't/couldn't do it. I thought it was a good plan. The more that grows over the years the more chance of total paralysis, but they can't operate until my legs go numb as there is more chance paralyzing me than helping me!! I asked if they would do it while I was young and "healthier" but the surgeon said it would just keep growing around my spine anyway. Right now it's like I'm in a "break" as I am mobile and back to work. I have no idea when the next growth pattern will start. It's like waiting for the other shoe to drop! I lose mobility every time and just kind of adapt. There are so many things I can't do, but I'm grateful for the things I CAN do.

Cheers to the news, Chrissy, though it doesn't change the pain and mobility issues. Arthritis is an unfair slap in the face as we age. None of my other siblings have it, but I have aunts who had to get hip replacements in their 40's (I'm 55). It ages me terribly...

Chrissy, wonderful news!  I'm so relieved.

Tomorrow night this time (9:43 pm) I should be on an airplane headed to Los Angeles.  And from there to Brisbane.  I hope to check in once we're in Australia!  Some of the hotels will have internet.  I just hope I survive the long air travel.

Ginger it is our government pension that everyone gets at 65. I retired five years ago without  a pension because DH earned too much but soon I will get a little bit of my own again. Sorry I should have explained.

It's cooler here tonight so might sleep better.

Good morning all, it has been cold, cold, cold here in Ohio and today is a little warmer and what's even better is that it's sunny! Ohio has many grey days especially in January and February and it can begin to feel a bit oppressive. It's amazing how different I feel waking up to a blue sky. I registered for my last year of work on my PhD the day before yesterday - it's going to be tough to finish up the dissertation in a year, but it needs to be done. And I have over a week now of not smoking under my belt, so am feeling like this year is off to a good start and hope that it is for all of you as well.

Carol, it sounds like a wonderful trip you are about to take, how exciting.

Chrissy - I love the afghan, I am imagining it in an old cozy farmhouse. (don't know if you live in one, but for some reason that's how I'm picturing it).

ducky - it's supposed to get warm in Ohio this weekend too - hope you can get out and enjoy the 50 degree heat wave.

Barbe I'll do that for you.  Watch this space........lol.

Zig, yes I do live in an old stone cottage.......lol.  I'll post a pic when I get back home as I'm on my iPad and don't have access to the file I need.  It's not a farm house but it is in the country.

Well better get moving as I need to shower and clean up my room at DDs house before leaving to see the doc and then hopefully heading home.

Love n hugs all and please stay warm!     Chrissy

It's funny that we are so freezing and you guys over there are so hot.

Chrissy, I am amazed by your activity. I love the snowflakes. I hope you are heading home.

I polished 2 pair of boots for someone leaving for France over the weekend and then took a nap. Wore myself out. lol

I am still having real trouble with my right hand, the thumb and the middle finger trigger and ache almost all the time. I can't blame the arimidex anymore. I am waiting for my insurance to approve a different medication to go along with the tamaxofin. The effexor makes me feel really strange.

Ginger, I can always leave it to you to ask the question I need to ask. A super what?

The painting is done, now I get to hang all the pictures back up. The shop is coming together. We started working on getting the machines back working. I had the painters help me move some big heavy things around today. They were very handy to have around. Now that they are gone I might miss them. lol

    Carole, have a great trip!!!!!

ziggy, you impress me, too. A dissertation and quiting smoking!!!! You go, girl!
