Dear Pam,
I am so sorry about your loss. I also lost my son to suicide Oct 2000, Chris was 17. It's even hard to type his name. His younger brother Michael, father (ex) and I are healing. Please know that this hurtful pain does get easier with each day. Finding out I had BC was nothing compared to this. I was dx in 2004. I wish you and your family many happy days and wonderful loving memories. Lianne -

Ladies... I have either totally flipped over into the deep end or perhaps my healing process has begun. I work at a full service garage and towing company. Yesterday we had a car in the shop that just happened to belong to the coroner who signed off on my son's death certificate as a suicide. When he came in to pay the bill, he asked what happened to the battery and I said "I am sorry to have to tell you this, but your battery committed suicide. I wish there was something else I could tell you, believe me I wish it were anything but that. It just seems that it boiled inside and cooked itself." Yes, I really did. Then I burst out laughing and he looked as if I really needed to be hospitalized. I told him you might as well laugh as cry. The shock is fading fast and reality settling in. Miles will be leaving in 2 weeks to go back to college. Please help me pray for a quick buyer for my house so that we can get us a "home." I miss Craig so very much, and Miles does too. And now Miles will be gone again, only temporarily. Time is so short. Hug your babies ladies. Love them while you have them. Tonight I am thanking God I was able to do that when I had time, but wishing I had done it more. Funny thing, when I got cancer, I put so much on hold or away. Just wanted to be with my family and love them and have fun. Now what do I do? God bless you all my sisters. Fondly, Pam

Another Herceptin treatment yesterday and that leaves 2 to go. Miles drove me yesterday and we were able to have a nice lunch together with some of his friends as well. The social worker came down to infusion and we talked and she gave her contact info to Miles as well. It is so hard for Miles and I to talk about Craig, but the gap is slowly closing. We are heading to the mountains this weekend for a birthday party for Miles, who will be 21. Craig's birthday, Sept. 14, will, ironically, be the date of my last treatment. Please continue praying for us, dear sisters. Each day holds its own rewards and sorrows. Miles will be leaving to go back to college next week. The aloneness will be somewhat welcome, but the loneliness is haunting. God bless you all. Pam
