Good Morning Friends,
It's cold and sleet is coming down. Had a million things to do today, but I guess they'll have to wait until Monday.
I don't understand why Ms. Kelly is so concerned about the color of Santa and Jesus. Did she think no one would notice what she said? She forgot to mention that the Easter Bunny is also white. My rightwing, Tea Party lovin' Mr. Tim brought it to my attention about the bunny.
It's really interesting when Tim comes home as then I get to watch Fox News. I prefer it when he watches the weather channel.
I hope everyone is having a good day and is safe and warm inside!
hugs,
Bren
PS ... I did some reading at another website this morning ... what a hoot. I love that gal and her obsession with twitter. She posts the funniest stuff! -
Our first winter storm of the season has started here in Niagara. The thermometer is sitting at 20F, it's windy, snow is falling, and it's our Annual Santa Claus Parade....brrrrr. I really feel for all the band players and the float sitters and the walking clowns handing out candy canes, and most of all for the folks watching! Supposed to continue snowing until early tomorrow morning. Something tells me we'll be having a "white" Christmas...you know....to go along with white Santa and white Jesus.
Speaking of Ms Kelly (and our cable does not carry Fox, so I'm depending on what I've read), why would she even mention a tongue-in-cheek article in Slate by an AA writer and then INSIST that Santa and Jesus were both WHITE? Unless........ Frankly, Santa is whatever colour your father or mother is, right? And Jesus, born in the middle east, is quite unlikely to have had fair skin, blond hair and blue eyes. -
Hee hee - I recorded Ms Kelly's program last night to see her excuse (cough - hope that didn't help her ratings) for saying Santa is white. It was even more huh? It was fairly convoluted and I THINK she was trying to say (still not sure, which is a sure sign she was trying to fit a square peg into a round hole - ie CYA time) is that "society accepts Santa as white [though we now know Kelly is sure of his race - lol]." So she doubly exposed her stupidity, as that is not at all true in an African-American household, or an Asian household, etc.. Which was the point of the original article she was commenting on (did she read it?). (Reminding Ms Kelly, Santa is a fictional character and there are no absolutes.)
Frankly, I'm still not sure what she was saying to CYA , but that is my best guess. There was not a hint of contrition there, either. In fact, she blamed all of her naysayers as simply wanting to attack Fox - as usual. -
Hmmmm, I ran over to that other place far away from here to see what was up. As I suspected, mainly NOTHING. I just can't be bothered "chatting" about people I don't know. I see I do exist because I LOVE.LOVE,LOVE what comes through FACEBOOK -- and you know if it is mentioned, you've struck a nerve. Still, I don't care to get my 'kicks' from taking apart individuals who have a different viewpoint from mine. I may mess with the viewpoint -- that is all over out there and up for grabs. Individuals well that is for people who can't do anything else.
Hey....I love that the Easter Bunny is white but then ask any kid............no one cares as long as this fantastic animal shows up with the goods. Probably just like all the other "whites" for the most part. I do agree though that it is whatever your race is that would best portray these characters for you. Ms. Kelly remains for me 'out to lunch' an likely not coming back. Faux News being mainly a place to go to for the absurdities rather than anything else, is a perfect venue for her. God forbid she should be allowed around real thinking individuals.

Jackie - as long as you mentioned "over there," you reminded me of their latest misreprensation of the facts. No, not the selfie Obama was taking while Michelle supposedly looked on disapprovingly (already debunked above), but their claim that 7 in 10 physicians in California are boycotting Obamacare. (Another Fox news scary Obama story of the day.)
The LA Times looked into this story:
It's not true. In fact, according to Covered California, the only source with verifiable numbers, some 58,000 doctors, or more than 80% of the state's practicing physicians, will be available to enrollees in the exchange's health plans.
Everyday a scare story is told by Fox news, it is debunked elsewhere. I guess sheep will follow to the slaughter. And it's amazing that they want it to fail, Obamacare, so badly, that they are forced to make up stories. If it were so bad, you would think the truth would suffice. Apparently it is not failing. -

People who feel compelled to go around saying that mythical figures are white are racists. No doubt about it. And Yeshua ben Joseph was most certainly brown-skinned, black-haired, brown-eyed and Semitic. But what does that have to do with his message, anyway?
They want to put the "Christ" back in Christmas? How about putting the "Christ" back in Christian? -
I heard the program where Rachel Maddow talked about these groups people with big money like the Koch Bros. use: http://wp.me/p2CO2t-1P2 Interesting that they network it all so as to fly below the radar.....but eventually rotten fruit starts to have an odor.

Bren - LOVE IT re: the Easter Bunny. Wonder about The Great Pumpkin, though.
RL - LIKE, LIKE, LIKE, LIKE, LIKE, dark skinned, and Jewish, you forgot that part
Ok, I confess. I LOVE snow. Yup, I really do. Esp. living here where it stays so white ( no pun intended) on all the open land, and you can see the prints of the animals who have been about. Not as happy about the COLD, below 0 on the thermometer in the am, windy, and well, cold, only up in the teens during the day. Will be interesting to see what it looks like tomorrow morning, if the stone walls are covered, we consider it a "good" snow! Still giggle with the Federal gubmint closing down for a few inches, but then our roads are plowed here immediately, could be weeks in the DC area! While the town does the regular plowing, so many have snow plows on their trucks, it all gets done fast. -
Does anyone remember this episode when Archie gets stuck in his basement and gets drunk. He thinks God has come to save him..... -
Bren, they are hilarious....always give me so much material to work with. hahahahahhaahaa! I don't know why they don't change the name of that forum to "Gossip & Get Everything Wrong Network"!
For instance just because it's called Global WARMING, doesn't mean it's always hot! For my learned friends.....
