Boehner is crawling out of the rabbit hole, it seems. About time.

alexandria - I've been wondering about the motivation for his behavior? Weakening of his opposition within his party?

Sunny, IMO - no. Not weakening opposition in his own party. MIDTERMS. 2014. The entire House is up for re-election in 2014. It is a feint toward reasonableness before making a break back for the batshit fascist crazy thicket. He is tarred with the brush of "least productive Congress EVER" and it is all his fault. He thinks he can look statesman-like for a couple of minutes before he goes back to being the mendacious, obstructionist, spineless doormat he always was. Ugh.

RL and all,  I too was wondering about the sudden change of heart and it does seem likely that their is an attempt to garner points from the proper places.  Do sort of wonder though........if this will be viewed by the BIG 3 rt. wing suppliers of funds as very serious and just serious breach.

Still as far as I'm concerned...Boehner and others deserve to be sent packing not for how they may be behaving now, but for how they behaved up to this point.  One of the first ones who needs to fade into the sunset of time is Ted Cruz.  The money he wiped out with his stunt  to me is un-forgivable.   I am a harsh critic when it comes to such destruction.

As far as Boehner though, I am surprised at his clearly shoving everyone that took place onto to the BIG 3 who fund the total losing idiotic strategies.

Oh well....will be interesting to see how much of this plays out......along with the big rise in people signing in for their Insurance.

EDITED --- I should have used the word everything....instead of everyone  in the little third paragraph.

Don't give Boehner any points. For sure he's following the 2014 GOP playbook. Shutting the government down was not a good move poll wise, except for the batshit crazy Reps and the batshit crazy constituents who put them there. They also are betting the farm on campaigning against Obamacare - good luck!!

They certainly can't campaign on getting things done.

The same gal who got the night off last night for her Santa is "really" white, always, kids.

Too funny ... I read an article about Ms. Kelly this morning. She adamantly explained to her guest that Santa is and must always be white ... Jesus too. There are no words to describe Fox's latest breaking news.

Chris Hayes had the original author/blogger of the Santa Claus story (Salon) on last night. What a poised intelligent woman she was.

On the other hand, does Faux News even have a minimum Intelligence Quotient for their hosts? Is it like being a California Highway Patrolman where they don't want people who will overanalyze a situation too much, so they go for mediocre IQs for these jobs? Though, not to diminish Highway Patrol personnel, I don't think Sarah Palin would make the cut for a CHP.

C4C - I was wondering when those left out by their state Republican lawmakers would start speaking up. Hardly seemed fair.

Something else that people need to get upset about enough  to hopefully get some changes for the better.  http://act.prospect.org/page/m/1093c80f/182e93d8/20104e43/44115f51/2020515637/VEsD/  It is about the changes in voting laws and the changes Supreme Court ( shame on them ) made.

This is a story that is just now un-folding.

By M. Alex Johnson, Staff Writer, NBC News

Hospital personnel were told to prepare for a "mass injury incident" after two people were reported injured in a shooting Friday at a high school in Colorado.

A nursing supervisor at the Medical Center of Aurora told NBC News that the hospital was on standby for ambulances coming Arapahoe High School in Centennial.

NBC station KUSA of Denver reported that two people were injured in what police described as an "active shooter situation." No one was in custody, the station reported.

The school is part of the Littleton public school systems, based in Arapahoe County — the same county where James Eagan Holmes is accused of having killed 12 people in a movie theater in the town of Aurora.

I had quit saying anything about the shootings that keep taking place, as obviously nothing is going  to happen in regard to guns -- thanks NRA.  I do still wonder all the time though.......will anyone who has been brainwashed by the NRA ( it's my second amendment right ) and others ever going to see that everyone who has or will get shot has a right as well.  Also, the misinterpretation of the amendment sets my teeth on edge every time.  It is the right of everyone to not have to worry that they are going to be shot when they are going about their normal everyday business.  I wish people would wise up before it is too late because eventually these same shooters will get around to THEM.....then what people.  Will you listen then.

RL, Kam, thanks - I forgot about 2014. Of course, he's gotta try to appear sane, while their numbers are so low.

SNOW. COLD. Snow wasn't supposed to start until late tomorrow, really wonder what would happen if weather people didn't get paid for wrong forecasts - jeeeez, what's all that equipment for?

Sunflowers - Been out most of the day - anyway agree that Boehner is trying to look sane for 2014. I think the whole party was getting scared.

I have no idea what's happening with the snow tomorrow.

Well, I assume all have heard how the GOP is teaching their candidates, opposing women, how to speak to women (as opposed to fixing their policies toward women). They are also moving up their Convention date so they have more time to recover from things like empty chairs, etc.. Not to mention putting up roadblocks for students, the elderly, the poor, etc. to vote. They're picking away at the margins because demographics aren't good for them.

Nothing they do is apolitical. Certainly they do nothing that is good for people - just corporations.

The only reason the GOP controls the House is gerrymandered districts. If Dems can get control of that somehow, preferably by changing enough minds in the gerrymandered areas, we take back the House. I think it could happen.

    Hi Gals,

Sunnyflowers ... we have snow forecast for tomorrow too. It was cold, sunny and windy today. I'm already sick of winter.

    yorkiemom,

Gerrymandering happens every 10 years after the Census.  The governor of the individual State controls the process.  A lot of governorships whet to Republicans in 2010 giving the GOP a golden opportunity to suppress the vote.  Democrats have done the same in the past. It is an old and wicked practice.

About Ms. Kelly over at Faux News....  http://rawstory.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=80b42ecc21f29763320aceb90&id=d4d4dbb604&e=a1ad5110fa  as far as I'm concerned.....she hasn't changed a thing for me....maybe made it worse.....trying to cover up and say she spoke about a WHITE Santa for commercialism's sake........oh yeah.  That fixes it right up.  Just proves what some dipazoids will do for a paycheck. One stupid chick.
