Nice win Pat, try to continue having a good time in Vegas.
Wow sorry to hear all of the other issues some of you are having. I think of all of you often and wish the best for everyone.
Has anyone tried to deal with the peach fuzz on the face that continues to grow? I don't want to shave it and have to do that for the rest of my life. I know laser won't work because it is very blonde but it is driving me crazy. \
Hair on my head is growing in all directions, not looking forward to training it but very happy it continues to get thicker. It is still about 1/2 inch, I think it has been concentrating on getting thicker than longer.
Hope you are all having a good Monday. -
I think I may have reached a turning point.....
Took the day off to sleep.... just sleep & sleep & sleep.... then went to my rads.... Im finally feeling like I can make it to the finish line.... I have 1 more whole boobie zap.. then 5 narrowed down boosts to the site where my nasty dweller took residence.
My oldest daughter told me today how proud she is of me (a switch since im always tellimg her that)!! Shes the only one who has said those words "proud of you"... and it meant a lot, cuz I guess im proud of myself too!
So, im proud of all of you ladies for getting as far as you have so far with each and every one of your hurdles & you should be proud of yourselves as well!! No matter how difficult, youre doing it! Im happyto have met you all, even under these circumstances.....
Lorrie
-
Lorrie...YEAH! -
Lori - yeah!!!!! I'm glad you are turning a corner
Patty - woohoo on the win. You so deserved that
Carla - how is hubby doing?
I feel like I'm just getting more and more down. I'm so beat up and burned out and it seems that everyone around me has forgotten I had cancer this year. Work is demanding more Saturdays, hubby is working late at least 3 nights a week and usually one weekend day, and with all this work, we are still struggling to make ends meet. I used to be such a positive person but now I have a hard time finding any positives.
-
Pat glad you r havg fun in Vegas AND WINNING. I would more than love to get together w u in N.Y.
) As the time gets closer we can figure it all out.
Teresa I have always had a hair problem on my face (except during chemo) Not fuzz alone. I use Nad wax strips. Really works great at removing hair.
Lorrie so happy for you.
Kate sounds like a brutal schedule for you. You need some me time. Somehow someway you just have to do it for yourself. You don't want to crash and burn. 10 minutes here and there. A quiet serene place maybe. Meditate. Take a few moments through the day, close your eyes and acknowledge the blessings you have. You've been through a lot. This too will pass. I don't know when. But it will. And you will not only get through this, you will get through this triumphantly. We all will.
My husband is doing close o.k. He still isn't sure if he is unblocked. Liquids are draining. He ate scrabbled eggs yesterday and felt that it wasn't going through his properly. He is going to stay on a liquied, pasta, ice cream diet for a while. It really is touch and go that I go to N.Y. but I am going to think positive. Maybe each of my daughters can come and stay with him for a bit.
Have a beautiful day. Carla
-
Carla thanks for the info on facial hair. I will have to check those strips out. Hopefully your husband will be fine and your daughters can take turns staying with your husband so you can go to New York.
I'm feeling the ups and downs of Anastrozole. I was really happy Sunday and into Monday. Then Monday afternoon I was in tears and I don't know why. Rather depressed last night. Now I am ok....not up or down. -
Drats! Met withe RO today & shes adding another dose... because of my questionabke margins.... so 6 more and nit 5.... ah well, whats one mire?
-
And I hooe no one is counting my spelling errors, or im doomed. Switched to a smaller tablet from the ipad... sorry
-
I couldnt hardly raise my arm today for treatment.. took an extra minute or two to get into place. It hit suddenly! I mean, it was tight, but today was hard to stretch it out....jeesh.... funny I didnt realize it....,
-
Lorrie,
Are they recommending you do some sort of stretching on a regular basis? Maybe more than once a day? I hope it is over soon...extra! I only want extra when it comes to ice cream...or most any dessert! Your RO can keep the "extra!"
Today's laugh. 4 of us girls are in Budget rent a car inquiring about renting a car for tomorrow. The "leader of the girls" asks if there is a discount...the man replies AARP is 10% off. The "leader" says "that's only $4...I'd like a better discount if you have one, there has to be other discounts". To which one of the girls in the peanut gallery shouts out ...."do you take BJ's". Well she MEANT The shoppers card for BJ's but her timing was perfect! Lol. We all busted out laughing, the man behind the counter couldn't speak and a man in the shop with his wife/girlfriend asked if he could join our group...
Pat -
Oh my God Pat.......I just spewed my coffee everywhere when I read your post! Best laugh I've had in a long time! -
Lorrie,
Same thing happened to me. No problems with the "stretch" until my last boost. As I laid there on the table I kept thinking...what the heck? My boob is SORE. It felt like the machine was touching and pushing down on it. It was only after - that I realized my poor girl was just fried on the inside and complaining. This morning, I'm still a little sore but overall not bad. Sorry you have to do one more boost...but just think of it as an extra whammy to keep away any bc cells.
Annie -
Patty - that's funny!!!!!'
I'm feeling a bit better today. I have a new job interview on Monday - guess I"m busting out the wig again!!!
My little guy lost his soccer tournament last night so soccer is over. I would've liked to see him win but it'll be nice to have some time back again... -
Kate, good luck with the job interview. Sorry your son lost. I used to be "happy" when they lost...meant it didn't prolong me sitting in a gym or on a field...I've got 3 that were in sports ...I felt I never had a moment to me! Then again I used to take magazines and sewing (girl scout patches) to the field and "half watch"...I have a difficult time just sitting there and trying to pay attention!
This trip is wiping me out. Thankfully not financially! We walked 3 miles to the other end of the strip, then did walking there! I'm out of shape! Lol. Had a wonderful dinner with the girls , the steak place sent out a cake for the birthday girl...none of us had asked for one, so a very nice touch...maybe I should have taken credit! Ha! I really can't wait to go home. Gambling would be fun if someone could guarantee me a win or if someone handed me an endless envelope of money! Maybe I can find a "fake casino" that takes Monopoly money! I put a $20 in the slot machine and feel its a waste!

From another thread I found out about a Live Strong program through the YMCA. Looks like a great deal if a YMCA close to you does it. Here is the link that tells about it and on that page is where you can click to see the map of where participating YMCA's are. http://www.livestrong.org/What-We-Do/Our-Actions/Programs-Partnerships/LIVESTRONG-at-the-YMCA -
Kate.,, good kuck with the job interview! Will you have more regular hours?
BJs.... haha! Had to share that with a co-worker, Pat! Too funny...
First boost today... as I lay there... techs I havent met befire are setting up the machine & extra equipment.... and I started to tear up AGAIN ugh? It was just different, right when I finally got use to it... oh well.... only 5 more... (not like im counting, haha)
As a treat for myself, I went and bought the new galaxy gear watch phone! Its so cool.,, im such a gadget girl.... I feel like 007.... haha..
anyhoo... hope everyone is doing well...

Got a littke wors of encouragement yesterday from a FB pal
-
My grandson stoooed by to make my day....
Happy halloween!
-
too cute Lorrie! -
Heres the shitty part of tonight...
Im so excited I only have 4 more treatments left... right?
While my youngest was here with my grandson, I blurted out "only 4 more, Bradie!" & she looked away and said "yeah, I know. Linzee told me" and went through the rest of her mail we get here at the house... I just turned away and started playing with my grandson.... and that was that....
My hubby is upset about it now that hes seeing how she is being... but for some weird reason, I dont care anymore! Im almost done! & not gonna let it bother me!
Well, of course it does if im bitchin about it now... but... IM ALMOST DONE! She will grow up someday..... but TODAY im gonna be happy for ME!
-
Lorrie your grandson is adorable and you are beautiful. I'm sorry about your daughter but I'm happy that YOU ARE ALMOST DONE.
Kate glad u r feelg better. Good luck on your job interview.
Pat glad u r havg a great time. Hopefully some rest has been on your plate too. -
Lorrie,
Love the FB exchange....I think we are all examples of courage and strength to those around us, one of the silver linings of this difficult experience.
Your grandson is adorable - hope he had a great Halloween (it's so fun to see the younger kids in awe of all the candy!)
Yeh for being almost done! That light at the end of the tunnel is just around the corner.
Annie -
back home late last night.
Today I spent the day finishing out appointments I needed to make.
Monday, breast surgeon...as a follow up from primary surgery in March. Good thing as she can eyeball my current stitches from the New Orleans surgery and perhaps give some input.
Tuesday...off, kids no school.
Wednesday Transvaginal ultrasound ...baseline regarding side effects of tamoxifen
Thursday CT of lungs followed by MRI of liver
Friday..hubby's MRI of kidneys
I think I need a scorecard to keep track!
Gee, last time I went for an MRI I had a full head of hair and had to worry I wear non-metallic headbands. No problem with that this time. I still need to psych myself up to get into the machine...allegedly this machine is "newer" and has a bigger body opening. It's not my girth I'm worried about, it's my claustrophobia!
Pat -
Wow Pat you are a busy woman next week. Rest for the weekend!!! -
Gosh pat.... im with Teresa..,, rest up. Sounds like you're gonna need it!
I hooe they all go well!
-
Hi all,
I have a question for the May ladies. I'm reading on other threads that MO's are doing breast exams on their patients throughout chemo treatment. I was surprised as no one has laid a hand on my BC breast since my diagnosis! Am I missing out on "standard of care" ? Just would like to know if your doc is doing breast exams as you go along through treatment.
Thanks,
Annie -
Annie: My MO has not laid a hand on me either! He only talks to me. Only test has been Vit D level. My BS did my exam at the 6 month after surgery mark. -
Same for me.. no exam, but I don't think I'd let any one touch my boobie right now! Owee! -
oncologist did exam in Mid October...it was my first visit to her post chemo (finished in July). Einstein felt the need to squish my new breasts that were actually "transferred belly fat"..ok, I guess there could have been something in the original skin so I will be nice.
I see my breast surgeon on Monday, which is almost 7 months from my first surgery.. I'm hoping she decides to tell me her plan regarding mammos or MRI's. if she wants an MRI I would love if they could knock it out at the same time they are doing my abdomen. I'm claustrophobic. And they keep promising me drugs to calm me down but I don't see anyone whipping out a prescription pad!
So the shorter story is...no breast exams during treatment for me.
Pat -
Good to know - I was a little worried that my MO was remiss in his treatment. I really don't want anyone smushing my boob around either!
