    Tina,

Will send you a PM. Maybe I can meet you for a morning coffee, or integrate a "fly-by" meetup into your schedule. Bring layers.... we are in that part of the year where it can feel warm in the sun, but the minute it goes away you realize just how cold it really feels. The MFA is a wonderful museum, of course, but if you are interested in something a little more intimate, the Isabella Gardner is very nice as well.

Tonight I am having dinner with a friend I met on this site. She will spend the night as well so that she can enjoy a cocktail or two. She too is just in town for a few days. The holiday weekends do bring people to our city.

I lost track of this thread. I've been busy for the past few weeks planning my DD's 7th birthday party. She wanted a Little House on the Prairie party. We had the party this past weekend and it went so well! I made bonnets for everyone and they had a picnic, made cornhusk dolls, washed clothes with a washboard and hung then on a clothesline (this was a favorite), and learned to sew by embroidering a simple felt monogram letter of their first initial and a felt flower onto some more felt. They turned out great! Here is a picture of DD:

This weekend we are going to a Denver Broncos game which should be fun and next weekend DH and I are going rock climbing at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. I've never been rock climbing before, but I'm excited :) Next month DH and I are going to Hawaii to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We went there for our honeymoon, so I'm so excited to be going back :)

Oh, Brandall, how wonderful! And how pretty and adorable your daughter is!

I was a Little House on the Prairie nut (books pre-TV show). My favorite was "The Long Winter," which I would read over and over again. If my mother had done what you had, I would have been over the moon. What a great Momma you are!

well belly dancing for the good news today! Caryn's news & mine as well.. MO decresaed the X dose to 1000mg during my week at Disney, will continue second week 2000md/ day. If TMs are fine still maybe I'll switch to this dosage. Maybe my facial rashes and severe fatigue will come to their senses this time! It's still a surprise to DS. Hope everything goes just fine!

brandall, what a creative birthday party. I was a big fan of Little House show and books and also read Laura Ingall's biography written by her only child, a daughter, all great books. Your daughter is beautiful, great photo.

Your daughter is SO precious! And what a great Mom you are! Little House was such a great show-my girls used to love it.

Let's see fun things........I try to get out of the house every day even if it's just going for a walk. It's amazing how many neighbors I run into and have a nice conversation with. I go to lunch with my old friends from work and of course my sister. I have been sewing small projects for my 4 adult kids also. I belong to two book clubs, which always are good for fun and laughs, since we get off topic a lot.

I try to stay busy-it keeps my mind off things I would prefer not to think about.

I am new here, and love the thread topic.

My husband and I are professional musicians so we play for a living. We had started this life before my diagnosis, and just kept going. Curently we have steady gigs three days each week. We are beginning work on our first CD and are starting to play more festivals. Our goal is to add house concerts and be on the road in an RV 2-3 months at a time. Even though I'm still in chemo my oncologist said it was okay to plan on travelling more next year. Eventually we'd like to do a European tour.

We put off doing this til our kids were grown and won't let cancer stop us from our dreams.

I live more in the now, since the stage IV news. Today we celebrated our middle son's 24th birthday at our home, yesterday we spent time with my brother's 2 young sons while Mom & Dad had an actual date, tomorrow I go to my nephew's 1st birthday with my sons (my husband will have to play a gig alone), we play shows Mon & Tues, then Wed is chemo day. Later this month we play a festival in Terlingua, 800 miles away in the West Texas desert. In Nov we play a festival in the Texas hill country. Dec 1 our daughter will get married.

The things that bring me the most joy are the people in my life. I did not really know how loved I am til cancer struck. Now it's impossible to deny.

JimmieBell - What do you play/sing? What genre do you perform? I have a performing degree in clarinet along with music education degrees. I primarily have taught, but still truly love to perform.

My husband plays guitar and we both sing. He is a songwriter, so we only do originals. it's Folk or Americana I guess, like Guy Clark or John Prine.

Clarinet is a wonderful instrument, I have only my voice.

It's Thanksgiving in Canada and I'm going to spend the day with my son and his family - my granddaughter Josephine is 18 months and, of course, the cutest little girl ever.

I'm going to eat pumpkin pie, blueberry pie, drink wine and forget about the elephant in the room. I'm here, I feel good, and it's going to be a good day.

Being a dual citizen, I will celebrate US Thanksgiving next month in NY with my extended family and other son.

Happy turkey day to all my Canadian sisters.

To Jill49 and all Canadian folks - happy Thanksgiving! It's a fabulous holiday whether celebrated in Oct. or Nov. (maybe both!) with family, food and friends!

And Brandall, your daughter is absolutely lovely!

I bought myself a new toy and now I have to convince my leg muscles to go along with the deal. I do live at the very top of a big hill, so will have to get into shape on flatter land.

Today I had "brunch" with two new, and good, friends on Newbury Street in Boston. Getting home all the roads were blocked for some race. I didn't hang around to see if there was pink involved.

This has been a very good holiday weekend indeed.

At Disneyland at last. DS is having the time of his life. We entered the park at noon, was over with Peter Pan, Big mountain Thunder, Pirates of the Caribbean & Space Mountain in just an hour, spending mire time looking around for them & DS rejected by Indiana Jones ride for his hight.... The Priority card is cool. Anyway I was already asleep at the lunch table, so gave them their fast passes and slept. They arrived back just now, DS saying "mom you are the turbo fast pass, we need you for buzz lightyears laser show ;)))) And they only waited like 5-7 minutes for the star tower...we have just 3 days here and Dh has been a bit regretful not having booked a full week... After today's performance, he is amazed. We've done a full days performance in just an hour.. Why the rush.. :)))) We'll go to Disney Studios tomorrow , or complete it all today he he he until dinner time. And we decided on one ride per activity / per half day, respecting the queues;)) i remember waiting 2 full hours in Orlando..for one ride yearrrss ago.

Brandall we can be in-laws! Your daughter is just my son's type he he he... But nooo! That would be too much cancer gene in the family ;((( friends is better.

    Hugs all

    Ebru,

How wonderful that your son and husband are having such a magnificent time! My sister did the lighting for Big Mountain, Pirates and the Pooh Ride [do they have that one in Paris?] She loved her time working for the Imagineering group at Disney.

Thanks for all of the lovely comments about my daughter :) I love her to pieces, she is super sweet too!

Ebru - have a wonderful time in Disney! We LOVE Disney! I'm actually jealous that you get to go to the one in Paris! We should have our kiddos be penpals or something ;)

Susan - LOVE the bike! I look forward to hearing about bike adventures :)

loubaker - I sew a bit (made all the bonnets) but hope to get better at it. I'd love to hear about what you have been sewing for your family!

Jill and all the Canadians - Happy Thanksgiving :)

JimmieBell - it sounds like you have a lot going on! Weddings and gigs, it can't get any better than that ;)

The hubs and I just signed up for a helicopter ride (with no doors!) over Waimea Canyon in Kauai...I'm feeling nervous, but excited!

Susan, the Pooh ride?? now I regret having missed that, cos we've been to both parks in the US with DH, years ago, maybe that's new?? I haven't seen it on the list here.. Neither the Splash Mountain which is my second most favorite.after Space Mountain of course hehe. dH & ds both felt bad after the ride, I was smiling as always.. Actually the fast stop-starts hurt my back.. Well it hurts anyway, no fuss unless a serious hurt which they try ti make sure to have me seat comfortably so far.

Brandall, good idea in fact.. I used to have many penpals from all over the world myself, when about 12, that's when I was able to read -write English.

We had dinner-show Buffalo Bill's Wild West, these guys are crazy.. They actually imported bisons froms the US.. What a show. Now both Ds & Dh asleep. Glad I am still around for them... Me, I don't really care about what's going on.. As ling as we are still a laughing family!

    Hugs

Beautiful photo of DD, Brandall. She is gorgeous! Good luck on the helicopter ride!

Love your bike, Susan. It's the only way to go. :)

Ebru, please post pics of Disneyland.

We were in Pompei and Rome for the fall School break. Am trying to post a Video of the changing of the Swiss Guard at the Vatican but it doesn't seem to work.

oh, everyone is doing such fun stuff!! I just came home from a week in Florida attending 45th high school reunion and visiting family. Lots of fun. Started second round of cmf yesterday. Doing okay with that but sure hate having to cut vacations short because of chemo? Ebru, so glad Disneyland was such a blast for all of you. Seeing the joy on our children's (or grandchildren's) faces IS the greatest joy.

I got home today from my trip to Niagara Falls. What a beautiful place! Plus, I got to see beautiful color in the leaves and had short lines due to the time of year. Thank you for the heads up on things to do. I stayed on the Canada side so I did Maid of the Mist, Journey behind the Falls, the Whirlpool AeroCar, and all of that fun, touristy stuff.

Lookie what I did over the weekend :) Terrifying, but pretty fun too. I had never rock climbed (not even in a gym) prior to yesterday!

I climbed the rock in the background of this picture and I'm about to climb my 2nd rock in this pic:

Here I am climbing 2 different routes of the same rock:
