    hey there oh chatty bunch,

Sounds like things are going well.

Fires are in the next state, so sad to see so many houses are gone and lives lost. we pray for no fires this year here!

Ive been reading but so busy with everything...its great! Im feeling normal again ready for summer! My hair has hit past my neck line...off for another color next week!!

Must go to bed. Work in the morning.

    Hugs to all x

That Irish yoga class seems just right for me this morning - see you there, Dakota! Lol! I'm just sooo lazy! Decided to skip my yogalates class, and take the dog for a long walk later instead. Movie, I will sorely miss you on that walk! DH also just gave me a job outside carrying all his precious small potted plants to the greenhouse before we get an unexpected frost - will be enough exercise.

Traii, you sound wonderful, and back to normal. And your hair is growing so fast too. Before you know it you will be making a ponytail again!

Momof2, how is that sewing coming along? Last night I realized with a shock that I have one more baby blanket to sew before I leave for S.A. in a few weeks. A young friend of mine will be having her first baby while we are gone. Have bought the fabric for that blankie, and must get busy on that. For me the hardest job is cutting the fabric, and getting the lines straight - lol. I also have to hem my dress for the wedding. It is slightly too long, just an inch or so. With my sewing skills that will be really interesting!

Edi, that's my kind of yoga class! ROFL!!

Liefie, did you get those plants in? I can relate a bit as I am going to great lengths here to keep my geraniums alive. I went to Wal-mart and bought these ridiculous tents to put over top. Keeps the frost off but they're still turning purple :(

Ugh, started the Tamoxifen today. I don't know if it's psychosomatic or what but I was just da-ragging myself around today, despite some sleep last night and proper nutrition. Rode Princess Di, good grief she is a real piece of work, but I managed to get in a good hour long ride around the grounds.  Did not do my chores as was just too weak and tired? And indigestion! Yikes! Does it help reduce cancer risk from all body parts or just the other breast?

Nihahi, hope you survived election day. I have to pick up a load of beet pulp tomorrow for the giant plush toys but should still be at Timmies on time. You can have your pumpkin muffins!

Websister, how was the MUGA scan?

Mom of 2 - sending you wishes for a relaxing day tomorrow, do something nice for yourself like a pedicure or massage or both.

Traii - so good to hear from you and that you are feeling like you are getting back to normal. Your hair sounds wonderful! Glad to hear you are safe from fires, it does sound awful for those impacted.

Dakota - I think you should join the get together - absolutely!

Edi - your DH sounds like he is starting to enjoy his retirement! Glad to her your hip is doing better

Nihahi - thinking of you, by my time you have five minutes left and you can go home - very long day for you

Liefie - I think you are probably a better sewer than you are giving yourself credit for, hope all goes well with it. I think you were wise to stay home from yogalates! Sounds like lots of work with those plants

Benny/Morwenna/Nihahi - I will try to get to the meet up, I am back to work and have a big meeting on Thursday morning that I have to prepare some documents for. I have set tomorrow apart in my schedule to prepare the documentation. If it goes well tomorrow a.m., I might be able to get it all done and then come over and meet with you. Benny - do you still have the same cell phone number? I could text you about noon and give you an update on how it is looking for me.

I had the MUGA this a.m., thanks for the pocket party, you are quite the rowdy crowd, I wasn't told any results but I'm sure the MO will have them soon and no news will be good news. Went to work afterwards and I am getting a little discouraged. Four hours in and I was really fatigued and trying to push through. Went to Costco after work, started supper and DH finished it, I was done! I am going to try to walk for 30 minutes now as it is supposed to help but so far, it doesn't seem to be having the desired effect. I know, be patient - right - but I am so tired of being tired

    Take care everyone

    Hello ladies,

I tried to get caught up with all of the post but man that will teach me not to stay away to long.

I have been so busy went back to work 4 days a week bartending last week. Boy was I tired by Friday. Between that and Real Estate there is not enough hours in the day. I'm feeling like the old me and it feels good.

I'm going on a 5 day vacation with my best friend to Vegas Wednesday and can't wait to spend time just me and her. I start radiation the day after I get back

Benny I'm so sorry you are dealing with this again, I am hoping for the best of news for you.

Malakies, welcome to you so sorry you have to join us, but glad to have you here.

Momof2, Make room for me in your pockets I will be there with you.

    Edi, dancing this week?

Dakota, busy as usual try and get some time for you to.

Movie, Liefie, Nihahi and all the reat of you great ladies thinking of you all

Benny, I seem to remember geraniums not surviving even the English winter! Mum used to take them out the ground and store them in the glasshouse or the garage, wrapped in newspapers!

As for tamoxifen, I really have no idea, but the advantages as well as the disadvantages of being triple negative is that we TNs have no ongoing treatments to endure! From what I hear people saying about Herceptin, Tamoxifen etc, side effects, I'm not completely sorry I don't get to take it!

Woo-hoo! I'm excited for tomorrow; I get to meet you AND Nihahi, ooh, and maybe Websister as well, and then have my show to look forward to in the evening! :D

oh my lord, I'm tired....even worse, my voice is almost gone!!! ? Voting stopped at 8, then we had to stay in the room until all the counts added up to what they were supposed to. Thankfully, Okotoks tabulates votes electronically, so we didn't have to hand count the ballots that had been cast. It was actually kind of fun, so I'll likely sign up for the next election too. You sluggards in Calgary didn't start voting until 10 am!!!! What the heck is up with that!!!!

websister, I'm pm'ing you re: tomorrow and phone contact. Hope you can make it....I might not have a voice!!!!!

Hoping everyone else had a great day...it "apparently" was absolutely gorgeous here!

It was a beautiful day. The sun was really warm.

I had my last drumming circle this afternoon. The end of a course of six. There will be another course at Wellspring in February, but if all goes according to plan I'll be all back at work by then, so Monday afternoons will be out for me. I feel quite sad. I'll miss it! :(

I'm thinking of trying the Friday evening drum circle at Inglewood though! :)

Websister, hoping for good MUGA results! All I can say about that pesky fatique is that it will take time to go away. Don't know with Herceptin, but it took about 6 - 8 weeks after last chemo for me to feel somewhat energetic again. My leg muscles were like rubber, and I often felt breathless. It sucks to feel so exhausted all the time, but be kind to yourself, and rest whenever you can. Your strength will return eventually.

Maria, enjoy Vegas with your friend! You are doing really well, and rads will fly by.

You Calgary girls enjoy your meet-up tomorrow! Nihahi, maybe bring a little blackboard and chalk in case your voice disappears. That way you can also participate in the conversation - lol.

Edi, thanks for skyping earlier today!

Morwenna, hope you find another drum circle.

Morwenna, I've done the Friday evening drum circle at Inglewood. It is very good, you'll like it. Some really good facilitators there and they do the drumming cradle thing, which is so incredibly good. Not long enough tho'. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Websister, I do still have the same cell number. I think I ran out of minutes tho' so will re-stock tomorrow. Do you think you are putting in too many hours at work? I wonder if you should talk with them about cutting back hours? I'm really surprised you are back already. They called me today and I won't be returning for a few months yet, and if the biopsy is bad, who knows when I'll return. But anyway, if you're tired from work, that says it all, to me.

Nihahi, yes, Calgarians are slackers I think. I was still drinking coffee at 10:00 a.m. in my jammies. Re the voice, drink lots of water tonight. And honey is supposed to help too, if you could get a tsp of that down. As for the weather..... nah, who told you that? It was cold and rainy and..... okay, sorry, yeah it was gorgeous. But tomorrow and all this week will be the same!

Maria, good to hear you're feeling good! Enjoy Vegas and don't worry about radiation. It is a walk in the park compared to chemo and you'll be fine.

Edi, I love that blue water picture you posted awhile back. I keep going back to it. I think I will have to steal it for my desktop.

Okay, I am going to put new holes in my reins (they're too short when Di drops her head; so far she hasn't bucked!), finish supper dishes, then try and find something to do til 3 a.m. The new I-Can-Sleep program wants us to stay awake til 3 a.m. and develop a 'sleep hunger drive'. I am a natural night owl but when I'm so tired it's hard to stay awake that

benny...you are too funny! Thanks for the voice tips...it does seem to be coming back this morning, though at the moment I sound a bit like a heavy smoker!!!! I sent my cell number to websister, also, so if you don't get around to buying "minutes" she has my number if she wants to contact us today. Looking forward to the group rendezvous!

maria....awesome sounding!!!!! What a trouper you are....hope maybe things are looking up a wee bit for hubby???

As predicted....still in my jammies and drinking a coffee.....but it looks soooooo beautiful outside....gotta get out there!

    Have great days everyone!

Benny, what is the "I Can Sleep" program?  I've had insomnia all my life and even with various techniques and sleep hygiene, it's still difficult sometimes.

AHHHHH! This silly board keeps logging me out! Anyway....

Sbelizabeth, the ICanSleep program was developed by researchers and reportedly has a 75% success rate in helping people with insomnia. They initially developed it for basic insomnia then tested it with the cancer-affected population and found that it works just as well there. It uses education and a variety of techniques like sleep hunger/restriction to improve your sleeping. I'm only on my second week so too soon to tell if it will help me. You can read about it here >>> http://icansleep.ca/index.html

There's a booklet that goes along with the program that explains the techniques. Do you want me to ask if I can get you a booklet? Or even just contact them and see if they'll mail one out.

Had my first mammogram since surgery - it wasn't too bad at the time, but it sure did hurt afterwards and today - I guess it is the scar tissue being manipulated - ouch!!! Will hear in a week if all is well.

Morwenna - I am also grateful that I don't have to take the tamoxifem or any thing like that, since I am also triple negative!

I think it is great that all you Calgary ladies can meet up today - have fun. The BC girls are getting together this coming Saturday, and I am so looking forward to meeting my online friends in person!

I hope you Calgary-area gals are meeting even as I type......it is so nice to make the in-person connection.....(well, it sure helps me!) I hope you all have a wonderful time!

Adagio, Liefie mentioned that she was coming to Vancouver to meet you.....that get-together should be wonderful, as well. There is something so liberating about being around others who have an idea what it is like to have BC......you don't even have to discuss it, but there IS that bond, and I believe it is meaningful.....enjoy your time together!

Maria, good to hear you are plugging along.....getting back to work.....as Nihahi asked....is DH's search bringing up any good leads? I have my fingers crossed for you! Enjoy your time in Vegas with your friend....:)

Edi...I hope life is treating you well......your DH prolly thinks I'm a nutjob for driving so much....but I really DO enjoy it, and if you ever get over here.....the trip from Liefie's to Calgary is simply breathtaking.....even if it IS a distance! :) Tell DH when in America, I drive.....In England, I'll walk! Nihahi, Liefie....want to join me in a walk across England? It really and truly is on my bucket list! :)

Traii, Dakota.....hope you are both doing well......and enjoying your kids! :)

    Love you all! XO

Momof2 -- I'll be thinking about you tomorrow - hope everything goes well and you feel a sense of calm when you awake.

To all the Calgary women -- have a great meet-up at Timmies -- I'm sitting in one now in the airport in Toronto -- just had a pumpkin spice muffin -- had forgotten all about them until someone mentioned them on this thread.  Good thing they are only around for a month or so!   On my way to Ottawa where there is already a windchill in the air -- love Ottawa, but hate how cold it can get there.

Edi -- I started back a yoga a couple of weeks ago -- I end up like those women in the picture and don't need any alcohol to get there.

Movie -- if you walk across England and want one more to join, I'll do it.  Might go to Spain next year, but England is definitely on my list as well.

Not much movement on my front -- no surgery date yet -- met my new breast surgeon last week, who wants to do another MRI and ultrasound on the "good side" before surgery.  Then a CT scan to check for abdominal vessels.  Then my two surgeons are away for a few weeks working internationally to set up a cancer centre (was thinking of offering to go with them and and they use me as a demo!)  So, I expect it will be December or January.  Going to start on Tamox when I'm back from Ottawa since surgery won't be for at least a month or so.

    Take care all.

Ridley, good to hear from you, and that things are moving forward with your surgery. Also wishing you zero SE's on Tamox.

Momof2, you are in my thoughts as you prepare for tomorrow. You are sitting in the middle of the raft now, remember?

As far as walking across England, you guys will have to give me ample notice so I can train for it - don't know if I will be able to keep up with you energizer bunny types - LOL. How far will we walk every day? Edi, will you be cheering us on?

How was the get-together in Calgary?

Ridley...glad to see your post, thank you for the well wishes

Liefie...Thank you for putting me in the middle of the raft :) I have cleaned the house, ironed all of DH shirts and sheets, packed my bags, and closed down the sewing room :( I have to report at 8 am and go to the dreaded nuclear medicine for the SN tracer...hoping for tiny needles. At least this is the last time anyone is going to sick a needle in that sensitive area :( Certainly will miss my wonderful coffee in the morning...with froth and toppings. But DH is going to bring me some as soon as I am able to have liquids.

So I have been on Arimidex(generic) for almost a year. No real SE except it did not protect me from this new cancer, and my memory is not what it used to be. Then all of a sudden for the last 2 nights, I have been woken from sleep with joint pain in my fingers. Then this AM it was in my feet and ankles. The pain went away as I moved around...but I certainly hope that this is not another SE that will get worse. I have to be able to use my hands without that type of pain. argh!!

Okay...back on the raft... I will check in tomorrow as soon as I am able to. Crossing fingers for negative nodes!!!

    ((HUGS)) to all

I will let the others report more on the Calgary get together - I was very glad to make it for half an hour. They are all beautiful ladies in every way. Wonderful how none of us really knew each other one and a half years ago and yet we meet and it is like seeing and getting together with good friends :)

When I got home I got my date for my port removal - Nov. 8th with pre bloodwork on the 5th. Morwenna made me feel better about the experience as she had hers out this summer. Progress!

Momof2 - In your pockets, just rest and float on that raft - and my fingers crossed also for negative nodes

Ridley - that pumpkin spice muffin sounds good. Glad things are moving, albeit slowly. Smile at the thought of you traveling with the team so you could have it sooner :)

    Take care everyone

Great get together today in Calgary....Benny, Morwenna, Websister and me. If not for some other commitments, we all might still be there! Good lord, we were a table full of 4 gorgeous ladies!!!!! Lots of good talk, smiles, sharing and a few tears. Movie...your "snow show" came through just as we were there, but I didn't think to respond to you right away. (smack.....slapping head as I type...crap, we should have snapped a photo of the 4 of us!!!!). And yes...I did have a pumpkin spice muffing....yum yum

Benny...as per my parting question....so....what did you have for supper tonight!!!!

    websister...what irony...re: the port appointment!!!

morwenna.....hope you share the poem info.

momof2....getting things ready for tomorrow's pocket party on the raft!!!! hugs going out to you.

Momof2.......have you in my thoughts and prayers.....get back on that raft and stay put.....we are here for you, gently holding you in place, and will be waiting anxiously for word......just remember, you don't have to be brave....you just have to show up......think happy thoughts of your beach home in Yachats......the wind in your hair. and the warm (well...SOMETIMES warm) sand between your toes........

Ridley......you would be most welcome......I would prefer to walk with a group.....and what group better than BC survivors???? :)

Liefie......average walk can be adjusted, but remember you have all day to walk the miles (or klicks)...so anywhere from 8-14 miles/day......no backback....just a daypack....they move your bags from inn to inn.....

Websister, so glad you got to meet up with everyone, even for a half an hour....funny how you just seem to "know" each other, isn't it? Yay for port removal......progress! :)

Doxiemom I am also in your pockets tomorrow. You've been in my mind all day today. It will be great to get this behind you. Fingers, toes, arms and legs crossed for no nodes!

Nihahi, I had spaghetti squash (good) with organic spaghetti sauce (also good) and a small cube of aged cheddar cheese (protein). And then something went horribly wrong. It was a blur, suddenly I was eating frozen yogurt and cookies. Ah well.
