Thinking Out Loud.....

Happy Birthday to DS!
So true - where HAVE the years gone? Was just saying that with a girl I went to college with who I just made contact with after all these years. Her oldest is even older than mine and she is a year younger than I am. I was trying to get her to go to homecoming to march with the alumni band this weekend - but she has plans...bummer. Would have been nice to see her and the other friend I contacted. Hate to go and not know anyone. Maybe next year. Still working on one who said she was interested earlier in the year. Hope she gets back to me soon and says she can go. Otherwise it will be just me and DH not knowing anyone and he can't march - he wasn't in band in college. Been practicing - trying to build up some chops at the last minute.
Linda - how're things? You've been quiet. -
Very quiet here...
Meece, my youngest son is 29 and having a BD next month. It is quite amazing but I don't like to think about me being older too.
Chris, nice that you found an old friend. I hope you can find time together soon.
I hope you march! I hate doing things alone but am learning.
I just reconnected with an old friend (our daughters are good friends)
My friend just had lumpectomy and rads and we have had dinner a few times and talked the whole time...nice to talk to someone my own age :-D -
DS called yesterday to tell me his upper management has strongly suggested that he apply for a different job within his company as there are changes coming in March. It would mean that they would need to move even further away. It makes me sad to be so far from the little ones. -
Aww Meece - that is a bummer. I know just how you feel. -
Meece, I see it from the kids point of view. When I was almost 7 we moved from North Dakota to Washinton State. Brother and I were constantly adopting neighbors and friends of our parents as grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Her avatar is LuvRVing, I have met her and a lot of other sisters from BCO on the topic, So, what's for dinner. -
((((TOL))))) -
Deb---what happened to luVring?
Tried to check around but found nuthin -
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! -
She is loosing her battle with this beast. -
Three days till I see my GD's. Can hardly stand it! We are going to a fancy, schmancy wedding tomorrow night. All I can think about is how I will get through six hours in heels and spanx.
Sorry to hear of your friend's battle, Deb. It just sucks.
Copying Linda and wishing you all a wonderful weekend. Now wish me luck with my DIL. Forgot to request prescription for anxiety pills which I only use there. -
Oh Deb...Im soo sorry to hear that.
I looked her up and she hasnt posted in a while.
this damn rotten beast...
is thre a special thread for her?
im sad. -
I was on a thread with LuvRVing awhile back...lost track of her...so sorry to hear she may be in trouble...
Meece, it is difficult. These times are tough and choices are limited.
Diane, wishing you a great visit with the kids...do you want me to overnight you something for anxiety? LOL...will DiL be away or there the whole time? Just focus on your dear little ones and make some memories. Make a tent...do something messy...
Have fun at the wedding...your feet will get numb after an hour or so and you won't feel a thing.
Sheila, hope your trip leaves you with the best memories ever. Are you apartment shopping?
Hi FireKracker :-) -
Joan - yes, pleaseYou all know how anxious I get before visits. DS will be gone all but the last day. DIL will be ever present on her perch instructing me on how to do what I already know how to do (like emptying the dishwasher). How is it going for DD who recently moved? When will you see them again?
-

Welcome back!
-
Hope she is better for this visit, Diane.
Welcome back, Sheila!
Hi Chabba!
Sandy, I hope the new procedure works! Sorry the other one didn't.
(((((LuvRVing))))))
Went to homecoming. Had fun. Band people are so much fun. I have a pic of DD and me after halftime, but I am a wind-blown mess so I don't like the picTied my hair back so it wouldn't blow in my face during the performance - bangs were a mess - not a good look for me. Oh well. If that's the way I look...
Luckily the one move we had to do was easy for me - only had to march forward 16 small steps, not sideways and back like I would have if I had had the same spot as rehearsal the day before. Next rehearsal, I went to go to my spot and there were clarinets in it, so I wandered over to an empty spot between the saxes and a trumpet. I could have had some slammers after all! ( didn't because I wanted to keep my faculties intact- didn't want to be staggering around the field at halftime.) But I was glad to see slammers are still the breakfast of saxophones - lol.

Ahhhh Sheila sista/friend...glad u r back
welcome home. -
Welcome home, Sheila. Missed you very much! ♥
-
Welcome home, Sheila. I would love to hear about your trip.
((Sandy)) I hope you get relief soon.
Chris, it sounds like you had a good time. I worry about how I look in photographs, but I should be more worried about the hundreds of people who saw me in person looking like I do. I have bad hair days 9 out of 10 days. -
(((Sheila))) Aloha - welcome back. Did you slip off your shoes before you went in your home?
(((Diane))) Enjoy your precious grandaughters.
(((Sandy))) So sad that they cannot easily make you more comfortable. I hope you have better news soon. Chemo sux...here's to your next week off.
Chris, congratulations on your spectacular alumni performance!
:-D Sounds like fun!
