it is my considered opinion that this discussion board is diminished when Narsty People are permitted to posted their scurrilous diatribes, attacking a person's character rather than by answering the contentions made by that person.  If RetiredLibby violated any rule of BCO that does not have an equal and compelling rule preventing these ad hominem attacks, then perhaps BCO should cease to host discussion groups.  

RetiredLibby is not bashful about showing herself to be erudite.  To lose her and her ilk as a contributor to the website, while permitting  a few posters from that other political, and social point of view,  to continue is to give them credence.  When she answered their attack on an esteemed member of this discussion group she was only doing what was in fact the Moderators job.  Turning the other cheek only works if the persons involved in a discussion/dispute actually RESPECT each other. Thank you mods.  I know you have a difficult job......because I know I couldn't do it...not for a day.  We all so appreciate that you were able to see how much RL means to us, and to also understand that it happened to have been her, but we all want to enjoy our thread here in peace and any one of us could have been the one to demand we not be invaded by someone we didn't know who certainly was not invited.  We did not derserve that nor a suspension for one of us standing up for all of us.
