Sorry for how late it is, but I just noticed this and it is so, so true.

It's going to be much more difficult registering or turning out voters for congressional elections than it is for a presidential election. Voter rolls have been dropping for decades not climbing. Our populace is asleep at the wheel. The percentage of eligible voters who actually vote or give a damn is on life support. Especially in the primaries where the candidates get chosen. Gerrymandering adds to the mess.

Hence the nut bags getting elected.

    Ladies of the Great Northland,

What would it take for you to reclaim Carnival Cruz as your favorite. I don't personally have a lot of money, but I have worked in fundraising for over 25 years. Can I start a campaign to relocate him to his birthland? Would you take him and lock him up for the rest of his life? Can I get some help here?

Sorry - we have a Conservative Prime Minister and most of us really don't want to encourage him with friends like that.

Calgary, where Cruz was born is the bedrock of Conservatives here. Maybe it is in the water.

Well, Lassie, you know we do have pretty strong hate crime laws up here, and from all I've read about CarnivalCruz, his ideas certainly verge on hatred toward those much less fortunate.  Maybe we could work something out that essentially leaves him statelessTongue Out.  Would that work for you, Cherryl?

Hi all.  Will probably not be on much for the next two and a half weeks.  Might check in breifly here, in between running around and having to wrestle the computer away from DD. DD's wedding is coming up on September 3 in Vermont, and I'm the wedding coordinator.  (Oy)  Nice to have a joyous occasion making you crazy, but it's still crazy making.  No writing.  No work.  Just all wedding all the time, next two weeks.

Would Cuba take him? Nice beaches, sunshine, minimum wage job? After all the Carnival ships run right by there all the time. He could hop a ship in Galveston.

HAPPY HAPPY WEDDING, Alexandria....hope you have a wonderful time, even with all the "doings" you have to do.

Suzie - everyone in the USA feels the same way about the HIDEOUS murder of that young man.  Send whatever the article says to the NRA, and all those trying to fight any sensible laws to control guns.  Such an extreme example of what's happening to the SOCIAL FABRIC of this country, so tragic for all when individuals see no value, purpose or opportunity in their own lives, and take the lives of others - is it immoral, I don't know, it sure as heck is EVIL - have no idea, suggestion, whatever, of what can be done at this last date to change the situation.  Tragic, tragic, tragic...heartbreaking for all, senseless and happening so often, almost feels as if only way to survive it is to be numb.  Still makes me cry...

    What Sunny said!!!

I just want to get rid of Cruz and his buddies. I'd like to send them all to an isolated island somewhere and dump them. There are not words to express my dislike of them!

The linked story was about the gunman in the school - not the Aussie that was shot (that was horrific). When you clicked the link the article had it's normal title re the school, but the newspaper had added it's own heading on the main page - thought you might be interested. As we say over here - "Önly in the US of A"

President Obama proves he hates white people by getting yet ANOTHER black dog. Oh and he named it after an Islamic religious faction as well. The Horror!

    Cute dog right?

Wrong! Not if you are a crazed Right Wing racist it's not.

    This from the Daily Caller:

“A Portuguese Water Dog can range in cost wildly. On average, one will pay between $1,400 and $2,000. President Barack Obama has this breed of animal,” according to an answer on Ask.com.

With the addition of Sunny, the Obamas now have two black Portuguese water dogs.

The Obamas do not have any white dogs.

Can't argue with that. Clearly the new dog Sunny, is black. Completely black.

Unlike Bo who had a little white on his paws this new dog is clearly a member in good standing of the Black Panthers.

And as if THAT were not enough (And seriously how could it not be?) the dog's name is also clearly an homage to the President's secret handlers, the Muslim Brotherhood.

This courtesy of the Atlantic Wire:

Sunny? That sounds sort of close to Sunni, as in the branch of Islam, the religion some conspiracy theorists think President Obama adheres to.

I think I shall call him Raphael now.  That, after all, is his REAL name.  Not that there is anything wrong with Raphael.  It is, after all, his REAL name.  Innocent

Raphael Cruz has a certain ring to it.  When he runs for President (and he will), bet he'll use it.

c4c - natcherly - selection had nuttin to do with compatibility with Bo, who was a gift from well known Portie lover Sen Ted Kennedy, or that there are HIGHLY ALLERGIC people in his family, or the gentle, fun nature of Porties, or, or, or....thanks for the giggle

Blue - do NOT bang they head, really, try yelling, not when Dear Ray is about, but a good yell is often cleansing.

Better yet, yell IDJUTS. of course funded by gub'mint

I so miss our Lionness...every time I get on our thread....and it's FASHION SEASON...prada will never look as good....or McQueen, or anything come to that...

Ahh heck I've known lots of guys who didnt use their first name. Usually because their parents gave them one they got teased for, like my friend named Elmer.

Raphael is rather melodious though. I do like that one. He should use it. Probably got harassed out of it on them Texas playgrounds.

Chickadee - I too have known a number of people who use their middle name - often because they are named after another family member and it became too confusing to have two people with the same name in the same house at the same time.  Laughing  Or because the parents picked a first name for family reasons and never intended to actually call the kid by that terrible name.  Innocent
