And I'm going to be Green and buy a Vegas coffee mug right away. Just remember not to buy a cheap one that says 'do not put in dishwasher' on the bottom...the whole decoration just peeled off!.... I collect mugs from my vacations so really DO need another now :-)
-
Can't wait to get back to Mermaids!!!
-
What's Mermaids, Jancie?
-
Gambling place down on Freemont Street where you can actually use coins to pay the slots and hear them jingle when you cash out!! Besides you get free beads, cheap but great drinks! Freemont Street is a blast!
-
Take me with you! I'm a mermaid.
-
Estepp puts together a trip every year - on Sunday evening usually around 6 pm? and then we head straight to Rumbar Bar after that. Of course we will take you with us!
-
I'm in for Mermaids!
Oh, and I'm bringing at least one coffee pot.
I can bring mugs, too. Sugar, creamer, spoons, stirrers. I'll just set us up!!
I do have the Margaritaville....I was only half kidding on FB when I said I would bring it. If there is a request, and my roomies don't mind (yeah, like they'd mind), I would bring it, too.
I just don't want us in trouble with the Hotel.
I also know where the nearest Walmart is, for supplies. No need to fly them in. Since I'll have my car I can take anyone, anywhere, almost anytime.
-
Looking forward as a newbie to meeting everyone. I joined at the invitation of Claire Imel. I will be arriving one day early with Claire and will be needing a roommate or roommates. I don't mind more than two in a room rather I think it would
be more fun. Kind of like a good old fashioned slumber party. -
bacciboy - welcome! Get with Gbusse for room information.
-
Bacciboy. Do I have your information for name tag? Just checking.
And any others....if you haven't passed on name tag information to Journey (Gretchen).,, please let me know.
Thanks!! -
Bacciboy, it's my first year too. Looking forward to meeting you along witheveryone else:)
-

I am a late joiner for the trip. I think I still have my name tag from last year. I could just bring that with me instead of making more work for someone.
-

-
Westieluv.... .I've got you covered for name tag....looking forward to meeting you!
-
I was reading travel advisor reviews for the hotel Aria.
Just a warning. Ther mini-bar in the room is one of those automatic ones. If you so much as lift an item off the shelf it charges the room for it. Even if you put it back!! If you inadvertently lift something up, call room service/front desk and let them know immediately so it doesn't show up on your bill.
Also, the mini bar is in a refrigerator. If you put personal food items in the refrigerator they 'may' charge you $50 use fee!!!
Use caution!
All reviews seem to indicate check in lines up to 2 hrs to check in. Be ready to wait.
ALL reviews are wonderful and everyone seems to really like the place. The only real complaints were the check in wait times. Two or three people surprised by the minibar charges.
-
the slots can't be that far from the check in area so if we wait in line by groups of 2 - one can go gamble for 30 minutes - relieve the 2nd person while she goes and gambles for 30 min - oh yes.....we have to drink at the same time.
So a 2-3 hour wait time will be gone in a flash!
-
Zipline...I definitely want to do that. How ever do you all catch up with each other??? When I went with the chat group in 2007, we were only 27 and it was tough!
I was talking with a coworker last week who is prepping for a trip, and she was saying how she doesn't like to think about it too far in advance. I felt bad for her...for me, whenever I travel, a major part of my joy is in the planning stages. Reading the posts here, seeing the FB posts and pics gets me soooo psyched! -
Jancie, I like your thought process for check in. It will be over in no time, with no pain. LOL
-
Hi Ladies: I just noticed this and thought what a fantastic idea, I am currently going thru chemo and then have a B/M to look forward to.
I'm wondering, is this trip for those of you who started out here 5 years ago or can newbies join your trip.
If it's just for the original group, that's fine, I would love to do something like this for the women I've come to know going thru this awful journey.
You all sound like so much fun, what a great thing to do and to be able to meet the women who helped you go through this, would be wonderful.
Well, regardless, Have a fantastic time and have a cocktail for me and plunk a couple coins in a slot machine for me.
Love, Rayna
P.S. My husband and I got married in Las Vegas 16 years ago. -

-
Hope you can join us, Rayna!
Jancie - You're brilliant! Check-in will be a breeze!
Marlegal - I agree... I totally enjoy the planning and prepping (and even packing) for trips. It's a big part of the fun!
-
I would just like to say that I love reading your posts about this trip and I hope all of you have a great time! I have just completed chemo and am starting rads and then will be going back to work otherwise I would be very tempted to join you! I love Vegas and the ladies on these boards so hopefully next year! Have fun!
-
5 years ago.........in that year -two years of my treatment.... it was SO great to read here on BCO... read the threads where women were so close like we are ... it made me feel connected some how... like a was not alone at all.........
I hope MANY new sisters on BCO are reading all these VEGAS threads........ we have 5 threads girls ( over the past five years here...)......... you can look them all up here. If you are reading this now........ and are new to BC and all of it................ Hang in there.......... have faith.........Stalk all of us.." old timers" threads.......... read how we were JUST LIKE YOU ! Terrified and wanting of knowledge! You got this.....
Laura......
And Vegas Bound Beauties( Traceys super cute name for us).... AKA ... Tata Sisterhood..... LOVE YOU !
-
And the new lady Tata who asked............... we never get separated..... we have two events planned daily ... and this keeps us together... then... during our NON scheduled times, we just see what others are doing... and join who we want. Saturday afternoon...12-6 is open....... some pool....some shop.......... some whatever.... we hook up at the morning breakfast( all scheduled) and openly talk about who is doing what... and jump on a bandwagon.
PLUS............. I make CELL PHONE CARDS....... SOOOOOOOOOOO.... if anyone is ever alone... or did not connect........... JUST CALL one of the ladies on the card....( ANY OLD TIMER..lol) and let us know you are wanting to know who is where......... and we will get you to where you need to be. It really is that EASY. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many of us in this group are super micro-managers ... lol..........so it works great if you reach out to us... we WILL HAVE YOUR BACK and get you where you need/want to be...... JUST REACH OUT...... USE your phone cards..... if one does not answer... move to the next number...LOL........ I put on these cards the year that lady JOINED the TATA SISTERHOOD...... so when you see 2008/2009................ LOL......... You know you're dealing with a VET....
