Thank-you! So do we!!

The Prince has arrived. It's an 8 lb. 6 oz. boy....must be a huge relief. I'm going back for more details.

What President Obama said:
Monday evening, President Obama released a statement saying "Michelle and I are so pleased to congratulate The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the joyous occasion of the birth of their first child. We wish them all the happiness and blessings parenthood brings. The child enters the world at a time of promise and opportunity for our two nations. Given the special relationship between us, the American people are pleased to join with the people of the United Kingdom as they celebrate the birth of the young prince."

The birth of a baby is always a joyous affair. I wish Kate, Will and baby all the best!

Niagara Falls is going to be coloured blue tonight!
I was hoping for a girl (and prepared to make bets on it too!). But a boy will do, too
.BTW, hope all works out well for you, GG. House looks lovely!

GG - HAPPY NEW HOME. That blue tile countertop in kitchen is fantastic! SO SO SO SO worth waiting for. Love the deck - hope you spend many happy hours, days, years enjoying the beauty of it all.
PICTURES - Bren, thank you - oh, the smiles, makes me smile to look at it. And the sweet ROARING smiles for our Lioness - so sad for her she couldn't be with you. Know she knows we're all pulling for her - prayers too.
Thrilled to hear about the soon to be in about 100 years King of England. Both the Duke & Duchess look SO happy together, which I think is also a great tribute to how his mother raised him.
Kinda hadda smile, when all the headlines read "The World waits for Kate" - don't know if you anglophiles know, that as Kate Middleton was considered "a commoner" ( not an aristocrat) - during the long time she was dating the future King, the news papers in Britain nastily called her "Waitie Katie" - mocking her, and the long dating time. She was SUCH SUCH SUCH an elegant "Lady" during all that, never put a foot wrong, or made a nasty face at a journalist following her - and now, they all have'ta curtsey to her - SMILE, SMILE, SMILE....or will in the near future.
-
GG, love the house ... Sure hope it works out!!

Sun...many thanks for the info on Kate. I likely heard that some time back as I did keep up on it all. I easily forget many things that have little bearing on my everyday life. Have no idea if it was the thyroid blow out after 7 long years of it going faster than a train, and the resulting transitory amnesia, the stroke bringing another round of transitory amnesia, or what??? Doesn't matter, I'm here and going to stay. Anyway Kate then was quite a lovely commoner and you are sooo right about Diana and how she raised her sons. I had great admiration for Diana seeing as how she had to separate herself from the Royals at the end. Some sad times, but she did seem to be getting her bearings. Her un-timely death and we don't know if it all would have come right.

Hi all have been reading posts. GG love the house. Will be keeping fingers crossed.
Enjoyful, great pictures, such fun.
Thought you might like to see this. I thought there was no colour in my garden until I took some photos.

The bird in the corner is a Tui and he visits most mornings to find nectar from the camelias.
Must go for a walk this evening as they are lighting up the SKy Tower for the new little prince.
-
Ok - finally got a nice picture of Alexander - we went on a picnic today - kind of weird on a week day. He is really cute and has learned to say 'Please Nana'.

-
Suzieq, he is a handsome young man! Know you are enjoying your time with the little ones!
-
Thanks Glenna - it's a bit hectic with the 2 of them here and I know I'll be sad when they go home.
-
Now why is Obama getting ready to spit on that poor baby?
(channeling my inner tea bagger)
-
Enjoyful - tee, hee....isn't it so wonderful to have SUCH a human, honest, open, loving President...still my favorite pic of him is the one of him bending down so a little boy can "touch" his hair to see if it feels like his. He, President Obama, is such an incredible human being. I think we are all blessed to have him as our President.
Alyson - YOUR GARDEN - how fabulous - can we have a bigger pic of that bird, please?
Jackie- I lived in London for years. Was there for the Diana royal wedding - we had a block party, and many of us ( me included) wore buttons that said "Don't Do it Di." Think William will be a wonderful influence on the monarchy, so sensitive, open, warm, and STRONG. Clearly knows his own heart, and braving criticism from what the Princess of Wales called "the Gray Men" to marry a woman he loved - wow. It was SUCH SUCH a "big deal" "over there" - still have lots of friends drinking warm beer on the other side of the Pond - and living there for years as an adult was a big part of my own life too. Mostly I miss the gardens, oh, the gardens. Weather perfect for roses, unlike the hills of western MA
Still, love where I am now too. -

What lovely roses and hollyhocks. I love hollyhocks, but whenever I try to grow them they look diseased. I've decided that I'll simply look at lovely pictures of them instead!
For that matter I don't do that well with roses either...
I blame it on the rain - after all, it couldn't be ME...
Thanks for all the good wishes on the house. The sewer inspection is today. Then there's just the appraisal to get through.
Alyson, someday I hope to make it to New Zealand. Alll the pictures are so lovely. My husband was there back in 1969 or 70 - he was on a US Navy ship that stopped there after Vietnam. He said that he had a really hard time getting back onboard.
-
I am out of sorts today. Again. Does anyone have extras?
-
Crazy 4 Carrots -- yes, I do love that picture. Pres. Obama seems to be so enjoying the moment there. He is a most fantastic leader as was former Pres. Clinton. Very much hoping the next Presidency will give us a female President.
Blue...it looks like the exterior of a London countryside garden and it is enchanting..just like Allison's pic. The bird looks nearly camouflaged among the Camillas which is what makes it such a great picture.....and you do have delightful color.
Sunny...how great to have been a part of Lady Di's walk down the aisle. Well, just to live in London really with all the parts that sound so delightful...like pubs and would it be tea gardens and the palace guards and Big Ben and the fogs. I know I would easily fall in love with the gardens because nature always fasinates me and anything which is growing gives me not only a sense of beauty but continuation as well.
Jackie
Spell checker.....off somewhere else today.

E- I have a couple sorts I could spare, but they are odd ones.
