So wishing I was there with you ladies.  I see some new faces that I would have loved to meet...as well as catching up with the usual gang.  Have a great weekend.

Pip -- Kat and I both joined the party through the magic of Apple's Facetime!

Suzie -- what a sweet, sweet looking little grandson you have.   Just like Blue and little Phillip, you must be enjoying every special minute with him.

Belinda -- Call me perpetually gobsmacked.  Buchanan has no heart.Cry

Buchanan a racist?  Who knew? (sarcasm, ofcourse).

The thought that he got votes in Boca Raton, FL, at Al Gore's expense, in 2000, is laughable (re: butterfly ballot).  He is a well-documented Jew hater.  Be careful who you align your own racist feelings with, is all I gotta say.

Thanks girls - he is a handful though.

Forgot to say how lovely E's gathering was - wish we could have all been there.

Work this morning and then I'm on leave for the rest of the week. Our son arrives this afternoon with the other grandson - can't wait.

    second amen to notself.

I really don't get when Congress hasn't forced the drug companies to allow negotiated prices for Medicare.  I understand how mush $$$$ their lobby spends - but it is so CLEARLY in the public good, it MUST poll well, and the $$$$ it would save the gov. should have every Tea Party raving for it.  It's a boondoggle - and worse!

I can't wait to see Alexander - we have held him since he was 4 months old. Not long now - I leave work in an hour, go home and then head to the airport to collect them.

Nicholas is totally gorgeous, I agree.

I get a lot of quotes in my in-box.  Don't put many here but some of these were funny ( love the Dave Barry one ) so decided I'd share.  Hope we are starting into a less humid cool down here.  Lots of rain Saturday night and a bit last night.  Time to dry out.

Computers are like Old Testament gods; lots of rules and no mercy.

A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any invention in human history - with the possible exceptions of handguns and tequila.

Kam - the same thing happened to me.  I thought I had read everything, and then all of a sudden there was a bunch that I hadn't seen.

So....  it looks like we've finally picked out a house.  This one has made it past the primary inspection.  Sewer inspection is tomorrow.  Then the last hurdle will be the appraisal - and I don't see it not appraising.  I thought I'd give you a glimpse of our new (hopefully) home.

    gardengumby,

The house is adorable!  It evokes such a calm and peaceful feeling.  I hope all goes well.  Fingers crossed!

Thanks - we really like this one.  Definitely our favorite of all the houses we looked at.  The only thing we plan on doing is ripping out the carpet and putting in hardwood or bamboo and tile.  Hubby may choose to raise the garage door so that our truck + camper can fit inside as well.

GG....your house looks so nice.  I'm a huge fan of being able to enter the kitchen from the deck.  That is just the way my house works and so seems like a piece of perfection to me.  I also think the front stoop, and big bay window are very inviting.  The kitchen colors....due to all the windows is great.

Hope it all goes well and that you can soon be a home-owner.

I also really like that the master bedroom also opens onto the deck.  In our old house we were going to do that but never got around to it.  So often builders place the house way back on the lot so that there is this ginormous front yard and an itsy bitsy back yard.  This one is more balanced.  It also has an inground sprinkling system (which the last people who lived here - renters - didn't appear to use), so I hopefully won't have to be hauling hoses all over the place.  I'm hoping to put in some raised beds so that I can grow some vegies next year - but we'll see.  I have a bad habit of starting projects that I either cannot finish or need hubby to help, and he's pretty much done in on projects.  I definitely want/need Laughing to plant some thyme, oregano, rosemary and a bay tree, but those don't need raised beds - just a handy spot to dig a few holes.

Fantastic picture Bren.  Yorkie....I need to tape that to my wall.  Be even better if the world at large and politicians in particular didn't give you so much fodder.
