oops......Dakota...my bad, then. Didn't remember your tamo regime. Hmmmpf....mine shut me down to almost nothing....then period came back when I was finished....then I got to go through menopause (the natural one) again.....what joy...menopause x2!!!!
glad to hear daughter is better.
Liefie....how's that ankle doing??????
-
Nihahi, sounds like you had such fun at the Stampede! I really have to come and experience that one year. Ankle is not bothering me one bit, really. Still a little discoloured, no more swelling. Was a little painful on Saturday just after it happened, but that was it. Organ on Sunday morning no problem, walking everywhere etc. Went down to the lake again this morning to tow DH for his daily waterski fix. It is about 60 steps down, and steep . . . took it slowly, and it was okay. Today the shoulder that the PT worked on yesterday is really worse than the ankle - lol. Not painful, just tender.
Dakota, your DD's ear story sounds like my old golden retriever who loves water. He just cannot stay out of it in summer, and often gets swimmer's ear. When somebody dives in, he just has to jump in and 'rescue' the person. One has to shoo him away, because his nails can really hurt you. He is so adorable though. He's had so many ear infections that we now put antibiotic into his ears as a precaution - lol.
That pink mounting block looks good, Benny!
-
Dear ladies.....have wasted the ten minutes I had right now to catch up (and post on DIEP thread)......promise to be back later.....am walking between 13-15 miles/day now.....and if I'm postin'.........I ain't walkin'! Love to all.......
XO
Namaste and God bless - Jackie -
Movie, you are beginning to remind me of Forrest Gump - LOL. But good for you! I'm going to see my ob/gyn in Nanaimo next Monday, and will buy myself a pedometer. Nothing too fancy, just to measure the amount of steps I take per day. Can you recommend a good one that is waterproof? Some of my steps will be in a pool. Need all the motivation I can get to get off my backside after DIEP recovery.
-
OMG!!! I will NEVER catch up! Good Lord I miss you lovely ladies soooo much!!!

And, once again, pressed for time...so here goes...
Start four rounds chemo TOMORROW morning!!! Ugh! Had a power port put in on the 2nd July. Healing ok, but really painful still.
This makes me so mad that I can not 'see' you ladies everyday! For petes sake, even once a week would be nice!!! Long explanation, but will TRY to get it all sorted out.
Nihahi, Liefie, Maria, Benny, Edi, Traii, Movie, Websister, Scottiee, any new gals, and anyone else I missed... sniff, sniff, it is so not fair!!! Miss and LOVE YOU LADIES!!! Saying prayers and sending hugs and cyber kisses to you ALL!!! Pray for me too... again, chemo tomorrow, 9:40am.

SUPER HUGE ((((((HUGS)))))!!!!!
-
Nihahi, sounds like a riot at the stampede! Glad you had fun. I am trying to talk the barn owner into letting me have a mini horse but so far he's not going for it. I almost had him talked into a donkey last night, but that's another story. I don't know why someone can't sell those mini donuts throughout the year so we don't have to wait a year for them. They're reporting that attendance is down this year, maybe because of floods? I did see a picture on FB of the saddledome filled with flood water to row 14. Very upsetting. Anyway, glad you had fun and broke the calorie bank for a day!
Liefie, hope the shoulder gets better soon. It's bound to with the PT working on it.
Movie, I am in awe of you. The most I could muster up yesterday was running away from mosquitoes.
Okay, bought a very VERY old saddle last night and am spending today conditioning it with some white goopy leather cleaner. Then off to the barn this afternoon to see if it fits on Diamond. It is just beautiful, made about 50 or so years ago, all hand tooled, very ornate. If it doesn't fit Di it will be a conversation piece in my living room. Paddy Pigeon is chilling out with Jim Croce, Benny is snoozing on mommy's bed, all is right with the world. Have a good day everyone. TRAII!! Are you okay?? Knowing you you're making muffins or some such thing!
Edi??

-
Alive, we will be 'with' you tomorrow. Remember, we get it. Post when you can. Remember this chemo thing is a treatment that's killing any nasty cancer floaters that think they can stick around. They are not welcome and will be extinguished tomorrow. Ba-bye cancer cells!
-
Alive, so good to hear from you! Don't worry about catching up. We hope you get the problem sorted out so we can talk to you more often - we miss you too!
4 rounds of chemo - I had the same. Not pleasant, but totally doable. The first one is the worst, for sure, because you don't know what to expect. I will be in your pocket tomorrow morning at 9.40 - you go kick the snotgrass out of that cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Benny, running away from mozzies - I did not run fast enough in the garden just now. One zapped me in the face - LOL.
-
Pocket party tomoz 9;40am for Alive. Like Liefie stated it is doable and just think, after tomorrow you're down to 3!!
Benny can u see me??? While at mums yesterday DS & I made muffins!!! I try telling my mum to let me do things, if it wasnt for these drains I'd be out and about!!
Ds and i have painted and cut n pasted, watched dvds, played hide and seek and the list goes on. But i do rest when i need it!!!
Dakota, i got mine back 2 weeks ago....couldnt believe it though happy! Havent started Tami yet though so we shall c...but onc did tell me u can still get it while on tami. Glad DD is improving.
Hope all u ladies are doing well. Hugs to all xxx -
Hello ladies!
Yahoo Bennymuffins and Nihahi!! Diamond is beautiful, and you look great up there Benny!, and Nihahi, minidonuts give me indigestion just reading about them!!!
Liefie, you're in Calgary, yes? I go to deep water workouts at the Winston Churchill pool. They have them several times daily, and they do aquasize too, although I thought I'd stick to nwb for now
Really inexpensive too, compared to the Y.
I'm 2 weeks pfc (yey!!) and should be feeling fine. Yesterday went for a beautiful walk at Big Hill Springs provincial park, with a g/f, and had a picnic lunch. Felt fine, but in the afternoon had a couple of bouts of acute diarrhea (eww) then developed an awful headache in the evening that I still have! (whenever the Tylenol wears off) so I'm not sure what THAT is about!! It's my first headache since I was diagnosed, I think!
Seeing lymphedema therapist Friday, and I think I need a sleeve etc
, but we'll see.Just another p.i.t.a.!!!!
Swelling is considerably improved. Maybe the AB's caused my tummy upset?
I posted this link to the "Warrior" song on the TN thread, and since it's on my clipboard, thought I'd share it here too. It starts about 8.55 mins into the recording, and the song after it, "Celebrate", is fab too!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl-fbGubfxw&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Happy Tuesday to everyone, and hope the "Alberdans" are enjoying the warm weather!
Ooh Nihahi, would you pm me the massage therapist's details too please??
Rose xxx -
Alive....will defo be joining the Pocket Party tomorrow! You've got this, just keep remembering it's a pitstop on the road to recovery, and isn't a "forever" thing.
Traii.....see, we knew you'd be getting back at it!!!! How are you feeling...other than "drained"??? When they come out, there will be no stopping you!
Benny....I love Jim Croce....glad to hear Paddy has expanded his tolerance. I bet that saddle is lovely!
Morwenna...I'll pm you the info re: massage. I bet the tummy upset is because of the antibiotics...maybe even the headache too?
Just got back from a long walk.....not as long as Movie would have done, but still feeling the effects of the food intake yesterday! Tomorrow....back to the run/walk scenario.
Have lovely evenings.....Edi...still got summer there????
-
Nihahi, im feeling bored...lol. Na, having fun staying put for now at mums during the day. Doing lots of fun things with DS.
No stopping me when drains come out.....thats forsure! Much retail therapy awaiting!!!
Trying to get use to smaller boobies but must say so weird not wearing a bra for now!!!! -
Sweetie.....I bet you find that smaller boobs are actually much more fun!!!!! Clothes fit better, shoulders feel better, you can hug your little one tighter!!! (eventually). Look out aussies.....Traii is bored and soon to be set loose!
-
Quick check-in
Alive - I will definitely be along for the pocket party tomorrow! Good to hear from you
Liefie - glad ankle isn't an issue, hope shoulder calms down soon also
Traii - you are such a good mom
. Great to hear how well you are doing
Nihahi - such a bad pun about Traii being 'drained', made me laugh
Movie - you are a great inspiration!
Today was my third son's 26th birthday - birthday party here so scrambled a bit to get ready as MRI was longer than I thought it would be. Made it through with eyes closed tight, table and length of time were not conducive to reducing the back pain so I did not find myself walking very well or far afterward but will work on that. Tomorrow (besides the pocket party) is a work day followed by Herceptin so need to get to bed.
Goodnight all
-
love ya websister, sleep well.
-
Alive - hopping in those pockets. U got this girl !!!!
-
Thinking of you today Alive -hope you sail through chemo!
Last round of regular zaps for me today, then tomorrow off and 5 boosts next week. Very tired but the end is in sight.
Will catch up on the weekend. -
Woo- hoo Caitlin !!!
My niece is going to do something with my short hair tonight so excited!!! 5 mos PFC and its so curly and as my sister always told me s***t brown so I think some blond highlights and a trim. Never thought I would cut it again but I feel like a chia pet !!! -
Whoo hoo Caitlin, excellent news. Party time next week

Dakota I was just speaking with my cousin this evening re my hair..I need blonde highlights...sick of the boring brown hair!!
I'll be asking my surgeon how long I should wait though post anaestetic as I don't want the colour to react. Then I know I will be ready to brave it out in the big wide world with my short hair that doesn't know if it wants to be straight or curly..lol
Alive, pocket party happening today

Websister, hope party was lots of fun. Waiting to hear MRI was all clear
then another party !Nihahi, Aussie girl ready to set loose..LOL funny you mention that, when speaking with my cousin, whom is also my hairdresser she said, will do your hair to make you more gorgeous and ready to get out with those perky boobies...LOL.....I'm not THAT confident.....thats forsure. It's going to take time I think to boost the confidence level back. But we all get there right?
Well off to bed shortly. My dad will be here early to pick me up for PS appt. Don't think these drains will be coming out though

Talk tomorrow ( well your night ) lol xoxox
-
Traii....even though you want the drains in, if you truly need them. You sound like you've been fairly active (I know, not in YOUR mind, but I bet you have) and that can up the output!!! It's best to keep the drains until your body can handle the transition.....patience, patience....Hope the appt goes well.
Alive....this party is ROCKIN!, Movie will get here soon, she parked her car in Kansas, and is still walking back to Oregon.
Caitlin....Finally....the end truly is in sight for you....rest, the energy will come back!
Have great days, ladies.
-
Alive, I'm thinking of you in the big girl chair, and my eyes are suddenly swimming with emotion . . . the memories are still fresh. Remember to drink lots and lots of water in the coming days - it lessens the SE's if you flush out those drugs asap. Also take ample precaution against constipation. I almost ended up in the ER after 8 days, but then things changed - phew! You do not want to go through that embarrassment!
Traii, you sound chipper as usual! Don't overdo it now, eh? Those drains will come out soon, I'm sure!
Nihahi, I'm with you on the smaller boobs. Never had big ones - maybe we're just trying to make ourselves feel better? LOLOLOL!
Websister, glad the MRI is a thing of the past. You are one strong lady who just forges ahead, pain or not - wow! Praying for a good MRI result for you.
Dakota, enjoy the highlights - you will be even prettier than you already are!
Caitlin, so glad the end of rads is in sight for you! You've come a long way! Sleep and rest will restore your energy, so take good care of yourself, and do as much of that as you can. Always time for the other stuff later.
Morwenna, I am on Vancouver Island. One of my boys live in Calgary. We'll meet one day. Will also get Nihahi, Websister, and Benny together. Will be such fun!
Edi, where are you? Working hard at that volunteer job, I bet!
-
Alive, thinking of you today!!!
Caitlin, it really does go by fast, doesn't it? Excited for you to be done, done, done!
Dakota, I hear ya on the chia pet thing. Mine is probably an inch and 3/4 long but it's curly so it just curls up with no length. There used to be a comic strip in the paper with this character called Nancy. Does anyone remember that? She had weird hair. I look like Nancy. And there's patches of blonde, black and grey. :-/ I want to try a straightener on it but I'm just going to ride it out for now. The new 'do for you sounds divine!
Traii, what kind of muffins were they? Bran or blueberry? Maybe I have ESP??!! So glad you're feeling well enuf to make muffins, but pace yourself (words falling on deaf ears here haha! ;-)
Morwenna, that youtube video was amazing. Made me cry, not sure why. What beautiful voices. Where is Winston Churchill pool? I am closer to Thorncliffe so might look into deep water workouts. So soothing and healthy at the same time. I have my lymphadema appointment on Monday at the Richmond clinic. Was originally at the Holy Cross but got moved due to flooding.
I am off today to pick up a chicken. I was farmsitting a few months back and bonded with one of the chickens, whom I named Charlotte. The owner is now selling them and I am concerned about their fate. I asked her if I could have Charlotte, so am making arrangements today to get her. Don't know where I'm going to put her but will worry about that later. Pretty sure it's illegal to have chickens in the city so I am now a criminal! Bennymuffins' innercity farmhouse is expanding! I need to win the lottery so I can get an acreage. I have a riding lesson on Diamond later today so if I never come back and post, you'll know I'm either in jail for having a live chicken in town or Diamond just ran off with me!
Have a great day everyone. Alive, check in when you can. Edi, hope you are okay ((((Edi))))
-
Benny, a chicken named Charlotte . . . you can put her with the pigeon, but I just hope their taste in music is the same, otherwise you may have a mutiny on your hands - LOL. Enjoy! If I were not married, I would have been you with lots of animals . . . just love them. DH always has to stop me from acquiring more cats - cannot resist them. LOL.
-
You ladies are great! Would laugh with some of the comments, but it hurts too much.....have a toothache.....just waiting for dentist......
Morewenna and Liefie......I promised a link to a cat video....don't know how to cut and paste on my IPad........but.......go to YouTube and search for Sad Cat Diaries.......it. Is. Hilarious!
Everyone.....Hope your day (or night) is peaceful! Laters.....(maybe).
Namaste and God Bless - Jackie -
awww....Movie....is this a new tooth issue or the same one that tried to derail your trip to Japan???? I hate the dentist, too!!!!
Benny.....seriously, now a chicken???? Yep, illegal inside the city limits, but, hopefully the authorities have bigger things to deal with. Went for a bike ride down in Fish Creek Park today....almost every pathway along the Bow, comes to a halt because of flood damage. It is amazingly depressing to see how the river scoured out so much riverbank. You wouldn't believe the piles of riverstone pushed up into the meadows....so sad.
Websister....hope that MRI report comes back "quickly and clear".
Alive....#1 now done....we're all thinking of you.
Gotta dash.....getting organized to go up to the mountains tomorrow, hopefully to find somewhere safe to hike.
Take care all.
-
Movie -
Dental pain! Hope it is taken care of quickly
Benny - why not a chicken named Charlotte?
Hope you are able to afford that acreage soon, you deserve it and are going to need it
Great job on the mounting block. If your appointment had been today at RRDTC you would have gotten in on a Stampede barbecue, it was very nice. Good to see the building busy after sitting quiet for so long
Dakota - enjoy the blond highlights!
Nihahi - that doesn't sound good about the bike trails, I haven't been down to Fish Creek Park since the flooding but live close to the ridge of it. Enjoy the mountains tomorrow, hope you have better luck there.
The MRI results should be there for my oncologist appt on Monday
Morwenna - congrats on being two weeks PFC! Good luck tomorrow with your lymph edema appt
Traii - what did PS say?
I'm looking forward to having a day at home tomorrow, my garden needs tending and it has been a tiring week. We are going to a wedding on Sunday and the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner are tomorrow evening - need to try to figure out what to wear to both before then
Take care everyone! -
K, let's see if I can get everyone straight now!
Liefie, I THOUGHT you were in BC, but then I got confused!
.... doesn't take much!
Benny, I am SO pleased you enjoyed the video!! I've seen these guys live, and their sound is so powerful, it can make me cry too! its just, .... Wow!!
The pool is right by the Winston Churchill School, near Northill Mall, so you are not far away, at Thorncliffe?? I'll probably go a couple of times next week, but I've been warned I may not go once I start my rads, the following week
The class was full today as I was late, so I did aquasize instead.
Hey, did you hear about the Calgary League of Urban Chicken Keepers? CLUCK!!! ;p
Do any of the Calgary peeps go to the Breast Cancer Supportive Care Foundation on 14th Street? I had my second appointment there this morning, and I think they're going to be really helpful, especially once I've finished active treatment, with the "survivorship" program.
Nihahi, thanks for the massage therapist details. I think I might have to see if there is anyone good nearer to home though. I think Chapparal is about 90 mins away!
Movie, I'm booked to spend all morning at the dentist on Monday, having a cleaning, then my broken tooth fixed, and another old filling replaced. Deep joy!
Alone, I hope things went well for you today. Get those stool softeners/laxatives on board as a preventative for a coupla days ..... worked for me!!
Hey, my onc says I can have my port removed, and somehow that's made it all the more real, that after 6 tough months, chemo is really done! OMG!!!
-
Alive I hope all went well, lots of water is the word. Like Liefie said take some precautions in the bowel area.
Traii so glad you are healing well
Benny love that you are rescuing the chicken, just don't go and get yourself arrested.
Movie I'm having a tooth issue as well, not painfully yet but feels weird. Will they let me see a dentist while in Chemo?
So yesterday my DD had her shoulder surgery, it went well there was more damage then he thought but looks like in 6 months she will be good to go.
So while I'm waiting for her to get out of surgery my DH calls and is really dizzy and sick at work, I can't leave my DD so work calls the ambulance and they bring him to the same hospital I'm at, lucky for us it was the closest to his work. Talk about a stressed out day I'm going between the 2 departments like a mad woman. Looks like DH has vertigo they gave him some meds hopefully it will take care of it. He went to his PC today and she thinks the same.
Needless to say I'm ready for the weekend, DH and I are headed to the hills for a couple days.
I hope everyone has an lovely weekend -
Hi Maria,
I'm now 2 weeks pfc
My tooth broke while I was on chemo. The dentist thought he'd be fine to proceed. ("It's not really invasive!" said he). Anyway I persuaded him I was serious about him talking to my onc before I had any treatment, and I guess she beat him up, because "he agreed" to wait until after chemo. I did let him file the sharp edge as it was cutting my tongue, but I go next Monday for my filling and repair!
-
Nihahi, you do have ESP, they were Blueberry muffins and yummy ! Me, overdo it, NEVER...LOL I'm at my parents house during the day and needless to say, my mum is really babying me..LOL so I just let her. Between my DS and I we are getting spoilt.....She loves it and yes, nice home cooked meals every day ... drains should come out by wednesday so I will be pampered until then...LOL!!!
Maria, OMG, DD and DH in the same hospital. You poor thing. Roll on the weekend for you and enjoy your time away.
Morwenna, You poor thing, so you have dentist and first rad on Monday?
Alive, thinking of you, hoping you are having IF ANY very minimal SE's.
Liefie and Movie, hope you girls are doing well and keeping out of trouble !
