Thinking Out Loud.....

Hey veggy...I'm comin...aug 1...I'm getting like u now..just a few words.
Waiting to see u. -
Thanks for your kind words, cmb, Chris, & Granny. (Granny, now you know why I'm always in NJ)
Oh Chris, that's the worst....I usually sip Coke when I am not sure about stomach...at least it tastes good either way... Do you ever feel like you are catching stuff from the sick people who come in for their remedies? I do not like the pharmacy line much.
Feel better...drinking fluids is important, as you know. I'm not sure I followed it all, but it sounds like a birthday plan will arise! How is your mother doing?TOL....last night after I posted I saw a bug on my screen; then found one in my hair...I turned around and in my reading lamp right behind my head was a swarm of winged ants. And they covered my screen door and outside light. I was horrified. I had to spray the sofa and vacuum them up today (some still moving-UGH)...tonight I won't even go in that room. They go for the lights. They are pavement ants and are excavating my patio...I may need an exterminator.
I loved the long week end....hope y'all had a good one.
Back to work tomorrow (2 hours) and back to the gym (1 hour I hope).
Nite,Joan
-
Joan....yes, beautiful girls, you are blessed.
Jan...my father loved to cook, did all the jam making and would make the Christmas dumpling as well....you didn't need any wine when you were eating his dumpling as there was so much brandy inside....lol
Joan, I hope you get rid of this "flying ants". My worst nightmare ....I hate insects of all
kinds!!!!
OMG Veggy.....run for the hills, she's coming!!!!!! -
Scotti What is a Christmas dumpling?
Joan I have an internal magnet that pulls me to my grandkids too. Can't get enough their sweet hugs.
Chris Hope you are feeling better.
I made 5 pints of peach jam yesterday and I have more peaches, not ripe, to make more later in the week. My daughters use a lot of jam for PBJs, and I like to give some away as gifts. But it's a hot job.
-
I'm running! I'm running!!!
-
Veggy take off the CAG me shoes and get the runners on...lol
Jan...it's called a "Clootie Dumpling"....Clootie meaning a little cloth ...it's boiled in the cloth with suet, currents, raisins, mixed spices, molasses and brandy, of course...lol
It is one of the most traditional desserts served at Christmas and New Year....as a kid, my father would put in a "lucky coin" and it was always my goal to find it!!!!!! Needless to say, the rest of the family did not get to enjoy much of it...ha ha ha . -
Forget the running shoes...I got me an airplane ticket. Destination unknown!
-
Veggy....too funny...ha ha ha ..but you know the princess, she has connections..😱
-
Been away for a few days, came back and realized I didn't know several of you - or maybe I was gone longer?
Hope everyone is well....
-

Where is Linda?
-
Thanks, Scottiee, thanks Sheila, for your kind words...and I agree,Jan, I cannot get enough of the little ones.
No more winged ants...I guess they have one big orgy night then lose their wings...
Sheila, the pix are great! Your daughters are beautiful.
I am glad I checked my cell phone reminders....Tomorrow I have an appointment with my MO followed by 2nd annual mammo since dx (July 2011). I am a little edge-y about it but am hoping for a good report like last year.
Chris, are you feeling better?
Granny? -
Joan - do you only have one mammo per year?
-
Hi Diane, I hope you are enjoying summer...
Yes, I have only had one mammo since surgery (8/11) - tomorrow is the 2nd. And no scans. And my BS passed me off to her NP for my next annual visit. -
Glad the ants are gone, Joan.
I am better, thanks. Now waiting to see if I get my monthly migraine... I've been lucky so far(sort of) I got them on my days off - and last time the medicine actually worked so I didn't have to suffer all day. Hoping for that again this time. And discovered that milk stops the stomach pain (from the aspirin component?) so now all I have to do is go find some milk to drink if I have to take something. Nothing is easy...
2nd exam for DD today. Hope she does better on this one than last one... She needs at least a C in this class in order for her to be able to take 1/2 her classes next semester...
(((((TOL)))))

Good Morning! Break from the heat and humidity today. Keeping the AC on, though.
Beautiful picture!!!
-
Hi Linda, are you recovered from your "vacation"?
It is a beautiful day...thanks for your comment on my photos.
DD has decided that she likes Cohasset the best...only has to commute to Quincy. She will work for Atlantic Broadband starting July 26. Now she has the dilemma of moving quickly to put older child in kindergarten; or to commute from NJ and wait until they sell the house and DH finds a job so they can buy instead of rent - then move daughter in middle of year. I say wait...the child will survive and less trauma for everyone.Chris, so glad you are on the mend! I hope the nasty migraines stay away.
-
SOOO tired. I need a vacation.
-
Linda.....I bet you do...
