Oh no Sheila!!! I'm glad you went to the Hopsital. Are you feeling better today?
-
I'm feeling better but i feel drained
Natalie's friend who took me to the hospital brought some powerade to drink
DD is working in Hamptons from Thursday to Sunday I didn't want to upset her so she doesn't know....
Heat Index for our area was between 108-115 today
i'm hating this summer
-
Sheila, so sorry for your ER visit. That's scary!
Update, two of the test results are in. Both Vitamin D and Vitamin B are low. Upping intake of D to 2000 iu daily. Waiting for additional tests before she works on Vit B. Have appointment with Neurologist on the 23 of August. Waiting for insurance approval for MRI.
Trying out new treatment this afternoon, she sent me to Theodoric "Medieval Barber of York" who did some more blood-letting. Perhaps that should do the trick. Maybe they had a good idea back in midevil times. Either that or I am going to become a member of the 5-gallon club soon. Four more vials. Now she is thinking viral. She even threw out toxoplasmosis. I told her doubtful since I'm allergic to cats so I probably wouldn't have done any litter box cleaning lately.

Wow, Sandy's here...ducky too...and Granny's in the house....
Sandy, not sure if it is good or not that they didn't do the lung procedure. This is so stressful for you...hope the angio is clear.Meece, hugs and prayers for an answer to this problem - and of course that it is simple.
Sheila! congrats on the good mammo. I am so happy for you. What a bummer to go to the ER you must have been very nervous. I hope it was just dehydration. Take it easy! Where is DD working? If I see her, I won't tell her anything before you do!Well, I was 38 miles away from dropping in on Ms.Granny K but it wasn't to be....
I was headed for a day in NJ - breakfast w/granny and afternoon with DD...
I took my "old" car and it started spewing smoke in the Verrazanno Bridge...a woman slowed down next to me to tell me. I pulled off right after the toll and found a mechanic. A fluid line had to be replaced and it took 2 hours...
Granny, we will do this....right??
I am really fortunate I didn't get stuck in a dangerous place with high volume, fast traffic. The guy said my car was not driveable yet I went to 3 stations and managed to keep it going. I turned around after repair and headed back home.Got home - fridge in meltdown! Repair tomorrow. Tossed a lot of food...
It hit 103 on the road for me today. Linda, Deb, hope you are avoiding melting!
Chris in my house - just the bedrooms have AC. I'm headed there now...
DD's 40th BD tomorrow night in CT...thunderstorms are a definite...more adventure!Stay cool, everyone...
-
Oh, Sheila, my goodness, you must have been terrified! I'm so happy you are okay. And very happy for your clean mammo.
Heard this morning that a semi tipped on its side (on to the railing actually) headed north to the Upper Peninsula on the Mackinaw Bridge here in MI Thursday night due to high winds with gusts up to 79 mph. I just crossed that bridge Monday on my way home from my grandkiddie visit. Talk about scary!! I have traveled across that five mile long bridge at only 20 mph due to high winds. Very unnerving to feel ones car move slightly sideways due to wind. Years ago a Volvo went over the edge due to that very thing. And they will close it if it is too bad. It's a bit scary also when covered in snow & ice.... One of these times I'll probably get caught on one side or the other because I travel it several times a year, winter included.
Hi Joan, K, ducky, Deb, Meecie, Sandy, Diane, Linda, Chris ..... I know I forgot someone ....
-
Sheila - so glad you are ok - stay cool and hydrated!
In case anyone needs some cooling off and a visual would help - here's a cool video

When we would go to D.C. To see my granddaughter at college..(Catholic University of America)....we had to cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge........this sucker goes on forever...is high.....and is completely over water.......narrow lanes.....need I say more.......scared the shit out of me especially when you got stuck on it in traffic........well last night a Semi hit 2 cars on the bridge, and one flipped over the rail into the water......falling 40 feet down......it was near the end, where the water was only 8 ft deep........22 year old woman.....she is critical, but will survive........she managed to get out of the car, and swam to a piling, and was saved........imagine that......,,I hate bridges..

LOVE IS AMAZING
WITHOUT IT WE ARE NOTHING
WE HAVE NOTHING TO LIVE FOR WITHOUT LOVE
WITHOUT LOVE WE WOULD ALL BE SAVAGE CREATURES
IMAGINE THAT
SAVAGES CREATURES FULL OF HATRED
LOVING NO ONE.
WITH NO ONE LOVING THEM BACK.
ATTACKING EVERYONE WE COME CROSS.
WE SHOULD BE THANKFUL THAT LOVE EXISTS...........

Shiela thank goodness you went to the er proud of you
Meece ok results for 2 are in can't wait to hear about the rest..
CBB is my favorite bridge of all time, when I lived in VA I used to go on it all the time to come back to PA it was 5.00 then 7.00 now I think it is 12 or 15 to cross it.....
Ok update, went for CT scan yesterday and no blood clot in the lung but plurual effusion in both lungs but they are saying not the reason I can't breathe....have oxygren in my room which is ware I spend all of my time. The Onc is is now sending me to the lung specialist, he will call him on monday and set up an appt....until then use the oxygen...even to sleep, it usually doesn't both me unless I am excerting myself.
BB tomorrow....thanks for caring...
-
So scary about the accident on the bridge- glad the lady is ok. And what a poem-
Glad you have the oxygen to help you, Sandy. Glad it doesn't bother you all the time.
Looks like the front is right over us - hopefully we'll have some relief soon and this house can cool off. 87 in my dining room...

Teenagers suck!!! Almoat 2 a.m. and am waiting for my son to come home! GRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I hope he got home okay, Linda and that you were able to sleep in this morning.
Got a sunburn today- I wasn't even outside for that long!
(((((TOL))))
-
Be careful, Chris! Hope it is not too bad.
Linda, don't you love the excuse that he's 18 and you don't have to worry? Right! Even though you still worry, it is nice when they are out of your nest.
-
Chris....same problem......meds cause photo-sensitivity.......be very careful.....even with un screen...
-
(((TOL)))
-
He got home at 2:30. Can't wait to sleep tonight.
Hope you are all doing well. Stay out of the sun!
Sheila??
-
It's not bad - just my shoulders - I was just surprised I got as much sun as I did considering I really wasn't in the sun all that long... I would really like to spend more time outside, but between the sun burning me, giving me freckles and potentially causing cancer and the mosquitoes biting me, making me itch and potentially giving me West Nile virus or Eastern Equine Encephalitis, I don't go out much...
Hope you get some sleep tonight, Linda.
Went for a "run" tonight now that it isn't 1000 degrees out. 1st time in a couple weeks - should be sore tomorrow.
DD's last week of her class - one more exam and a lab report - hope she does well on them.
So Linda - how is your shoulder doing? I've done something to my left shoulder now. I tend to sleep with an arm up over my head. I thought it might actually be good that I do that - stretches them out - but now I'm wondering if I'm pinching a nerve doing it. My right shoulder hurt for a couple years then it seemed to be somewhat better and now my left shoulder is starting in. Sometimes when I move it a certain way (or a couple certain ways, I haven't identified it yet), a nerve is pinched and it aches down my arm. I'll have to try to watch how I sleep. Seriously, I'm going to have to sleep hanging upside down like a bat soon...I'm running out of positions I can sleep in!

Today I finally went to get a new laptop - mine lost it's life a while back and the repair cost was not feasible on a 3 year old computer. I have only been able to do minor communication from my phone. So hello again!
Sheila - i also was in the ER on the 19th, though I don't recall everything. I was in anaphylaxis shock from a new antibiotic. 40 minutes after taking Avelox for the first time, I was in real trouble. I left the ER after 5 hours and went straight home to change and to the McCartney concert. The steroids and epi got me through until the benadryl took over. I had a hard time at the end and finally had to leave. So now I'm allergic to penicillin, sulfa, codeine, and avelox. Great! So glad you are ok Sheila.
I am going to need some time to read back but you are all on my mind, always.
Linda - I call BS on 2:30 a.m.
-
Good morning
How do I keep losing this thread from my favorites?
Hello everyone.
Gotta try to catch up.
Hope everyone is having a pain free day
Big huggggs to all my sistas
Grannydukes -
Granny...at our age we never admit to losing anything............just gives our kids another chance to say..........Phew.........she really isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer........
............ -
Diane are you ok, should I worry about you. Glad my laptop is doing well, I bought it in 2010 I believe...
Shiela how r u?
Chris, hang in there...
Granny you are the best...
Ducky... omg did you go down the shore...
Well of course I broke the oxygen thingy...the connection from the hose to the connector (tank) in my middle of the night I stepped on and snapped it off....am doing ok cause not moving around just sitting on my bed, waiting for the dr. to call me...and am going to make bracelets to take to chemo for patients (women I guess) to have....with sayings like hope; faith;strength;courage;believe and other words you could think of that you would want....my way of giving back?
So what do you think about the royal baby, think it is a girl, hope it is!!!
-
Diane, that's a lot of meds to be allergic too. It must scare you when you have to try something new.
DFS is at Johnson and Wales now. He left yesterday for 2 nights of orientation. I dropped him off, he was pissed I wouldn't let him take his car. I told him to come home on time or at least let me know BEFORE hand that you will be out late.
Still 10000 degrees here Chris. Glad it cooled off for you.
Granny, that happens to me occasionally too.
-
YAYAYAYAY Linda, does he have a curfew? Just told my son "being a parent is so hard" my granddaughter is 17 the one that stole the car..she is going to be a senior....made an agreement with her, if I do chemo in order to see her graduate she needs to go to school and graduate.....
-
Catching up....reading back....
GrannyK, missing you! Hope you are feeling good today!
Val, that bridge sounds amazing and terrifying! Glad you had a safe crossing. It’s a part of the US I’d love to see....we almost moved to MI in the 80s....job was in Jackson (ugh) and I wanted to live in Ann Arbor but it had the same cost of living as the Hamptons. No water nearby; and it was 5 hour to skiing and only a little hill! We stayed here....(((Sandy))) I hope this difficulty you are having passes soon. It makes me sad when you are not feeling as well as you should. Wow, can’t believe you broke the thing....assuming you have AC....that helps. How sweet to spend your stressful time making the bracelets. ❤
I remember the CB Bridge-Tunnel. Awesome but I was always glad when I got over it. Now I don’t even like driving over the short NY bridges. We are never 100% safe anywhere!
Chris, I always forget sunscreen...guess it’s good in summer to put on a base every day and refresh it when we are out. Ha ha I never remember...your description of going outdoors is exactly why my deck is mostly empty....we use an umbrella at the beach now and I always carry bug repellent everywhere.
Linda, re: late night....I have done the late-night worry thing more times than I can count....oh, maybe if I count my gray hairs....(ten thousand one, ten thousand two....)
(((Diane))) that is rather terrifying....I am grateful you are okay. Do you have to wear medi- info now?
What a fan you must be....sounds like what I would do....Benadryl always wins, though! -
Saturday was DD's 40th birthday in CT. After looking everywhere for the right place to have it, she decided to do it at home. I was amazed....she is divorced and ex did not come near though they get a long. He lives 1/2 mile away.
She has such great friends and they all admire and love her....we were the only older ones there and they were all so nice. Her 2 kids were running around....often on her lap....she is such an amazing blend of cool-chic and domestic...
She recently went to Morocco with friends....so....she got a huge beautifully decorated Moroccon tent for the party....with couches and button cushions and clothes, scarves and lanterns everywhere. DJ with background music....professional belly dancers who even got ME up there....fireworks in the yard...it was so much fun! I had about 6 drinks but they must have been light....was still standing at the end of the night.
All my DDs there...pic on FB from DD and I have more for later.
Gotta go to group therapy....then hair touch up before I travel.(((TOL)))
-
Linda...my grandson just finished his freshman year at J&W....loves it.....will be going back in Sept......he is taking Culinary Arts..
Sandy.....Have not been to the shore...long story.....even during that unholy week of heat.....no fun anymore.....like I said...long story......on the IPad....if I go on computer and can type fast.....might fill you in...take care....
Also...where the hell is the relief they talked about........this is relief..?????....someone tell my A/c that...... -
I'm afraid to shut the AC off.its old and I need it soooo I just keep it running.
Who cares about the electric bill
So I won't buy myself anything new this month
Ill live
Just someone turn the heat down,,,,
It is so fugly humid in NJ.grrrrr -
Am going through my DS's stuff he left here...I need to get it out of the guest room....he's in Chicago. It is so darned humid - still! OK I will admit it's about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday, but it doesn't feel much better.
DD started her job in Quincy MA today. She is determined to move the family before public school starts; probably leaving DH behind to work on selling the house and getting himself a job. I do not agree...she has no one to take care of the kids right away. But I have to keep quiet. I will help her when I am not working.
