Hi all you lovelies
Been a very busy week. Last night my DH's comic friends performed a comedy benefit show for us it was an amazing night. Wrapped up the weekend with family dinner/game night with my kids and some of their friends.
Websister yea for the new GD , babies are such a blessing.
Traii I think I missed the date for your surgery when is it? Soon right
Benny I love the horse story, animals are so amazing.
All of you other lovely sisters I hope all is well -
Morning everybody,
A quick check-in while DH and boys are playing in the water. Glorious weather - so nice! My boys so exhausted. Both work so hard, so much overtime - not really their choice. If the boss gives you work, you do it regardless. Oldest DS really stressed because of the workload and the expectations. He is very thorough, hard on himself, and everything has to be just so. He seems listless and tired all the time at 29. Not good - burnout comes to mind.
Morwenna, just want to welcome you here too. We are a chatty bunch, and sometimes we even discuss bc - LOL.
Websister, happy for you to have had that time with you little grandbaby in the hammock - what a sweet picture that must have been! With the next baby her maternal grandparents will be more used to the idea, and it will be better. This was such a good lesson for me for when my kids have children.
Traii, how are you feeling? The day is almost here - yayyy!
The gang is on their way home, food has to be prepared, so will try and check back later today. Have a good day everybody and Canadians, enjoy your Canada Day!
-
Liefie, Sounds such fun at your house
!!
Hope boys manage to recharge their batteries.Websister, hammock does sound really lovely, bet your little Princess loved every moment. In Laws will learn to chill out soon.
Traii, ( Hug )
Had the most shocking news today. My friends SIL DID have a heart attack and was up a ladder at the time.Six years ago his Father also had a heart attack up a ladder and died in the same place !! It is the family business and was inherited by the young man that died.
Had a glorious lunch with bc buddy today and we were facing the building in which it happened. The flag was flying at half mast over the roof. So sad.
Hope you are all well and happy, eyes closing, up the apples and pears to noddy land xx
-
G'night Scouser!
Sleep well! -
Morwenna...hope the Canada Day singing went well.....sure was a hot one!
Edi....kind of hard to know what to say at that news about the father and son. So glad, though, to hear you were out and about.
Maria...sounds like you have a wonderful family and friends. Just shows how special YOU are, to have them want to be part of your world.
Liefie...any food left in the house??? Sorry to hear your son is stressed....I don't think being overly successful/committed in work is necessarily a healthy lifestyle....but it's a hard thing to keep in balance.
Traii....thinking of you...you're going to be good, one last hurdle, girl, then LOOK OUT WORLD!
Benny...hope the heat isn't too tough on you. Sure doesn't help the energy!
-
Edi, that heart attack story is almost unbelievable - truth is indeed stranger than fiction sometimes. Hope that woman and her kids can pick up the pieces - so very sorry for them.
Morwenna, it's a pity I don't live near Calgary, because I would have loved to hear you sing! In my previous life I was involved with choirs as accompanist, and just love choir music.
Nihahi, just took 3 loaves of your lovely bread out of the oven, they look amazing, heavenly smell permeating the whole house. Boys and I are going to dig in now. . . only two (small!) slices for me - LOL. DS thinks he will be looking for a job at another company where he will not have the excessive workload he has now. Work should not be this stressful, and fortunately he realizes this.
Traii, only 2 more days, eh? Bet you are running around getting everything organized. Don't worry - DH and your parents will take excellent care of you, I'm sure.
Maria, glad you are doing well too.
Everybody else, have a lovely day!
-
The heart attack story IS stranger than fiction ! Sure she will be surrounded by her loving family.
So cold and wet here, can't believe it is July. Still wearing winter clothes. So jealous of you with sunshine. Just had a really restful day today. Think Rad fatigue is kicking in. Sleep for at least eight hours ( thanks Morwenna) then still pooped most of the day.

Have shooting pains in boob, googled it and ended up on a thread on here, really helped, seems it is normal.
No volunteering this week, DH waiting for phone call to have an injection in his eye
bleeding inside and fluid behind eye so needs sorting quickly.Need to sleep ! just for a change. Hope you are ALL well and happy x
-
Traii......pretty soon you will be on the other side of BMX.......I am sure all will be well with you. I will be keeping good thought and send ing prayers heavenward for you. XO
Edi.....the heart attack saga is....unreal! What a bizarre coincidence. So sorry for his widow and young family. Very sad.
I am at car repair shop.......Audi is a temperamental bi**h, and has decided she needs to see her boyfriend at the shop......AGAIN! Thinking maybe it's time to throw in towel and get a newer vehicle......that gets GOOD mpg......
Today the heat here has tempered just a little...(but how would I know-been camped out at repair shop for a while, now.)
Love you ladies a lot! You have helped me through some pretty dark days.......wish we could organize a meet-up (at Liefie's....
. )
XOXO
Namaste and God bless - Jackie -
Quick check-in - life can sure get busy!!!
Edi - sending you some of this hot weather, almost too hot for me with the addition of the tamoxifen hot flashes
Hope DH's eye gets treated quickly and will be OK, glad you are getting rested up, I found the radiation fatigue sneakier than chemo fatigue
Morwenna - I'm sure the singing went well yesterday at Heritage Park, what a beautiful Canada Day we had in all ways! I would be interested in a meetup
Traii - for some reason I thought your date was the 15th, but I see that it is the 5th. Hope you are finding some calm moments, soon you will be on the other side of it and recovering. I will be in your pockets on Friday
Movie - hope the Audi's date with the mechanic wasn't too expensive
Liefie - that bread sounds heavenly, bet there's not much left. So glad that your DS is smart enough not to let himself get to the point of burnout and will be looking around for something more suitable for himself. Glad he has you, brother and DH to talk things over with
We are leaving for a short vacation tomorrow morning, had planned to go a little sooner but DS wanted us to stick around to help ensure successful breastfeeding for DIL. All seems well established now and her parents seem to be more accepting of it now that they can see that it is working. Got my Mom set up for a few days without me, did her hair yesterday afternoon for her (she seemed very pleased with it) so now it is our time for ourselves
Take care everyone -
Websister, enjoy your well-deserved getaway! Glad to hear in-laws have settled down, and peace reigns once more. We have some wind here today which mitigates the heat a little. As for the bread, one of the loaves is gone . . . LOL. Will get the other two in the freezer before they are gone too.
Movie, you are welcome here anytime, and a get together here sounds just excellent. Once the Audi is sorted out, pack up and come!
-
Hi everyone !!!!
Traii wanted to say good luck just in case things get too crazy here and I loose track of days !!!!!
Hope everyone is doing great busy here and sooo tired !!!!
Hugs -
Websister, need some of that heat thanks. Have a wonderful break, you so deserve it ! Lovely that DIL is all on track with nursing, sure your calm influence helped.
Traii, hope you are popping on here when you can, we are all packed and ready with coffees and cookies for your pockets Friday, you will fly through this and come out smiling the other side with lovely new boobs which are no longer a danger to your life. Sure you will be an inspiration to us all xx
Liefie, any food left in your house and the surrounding supermarkets ? Glad DS going to job hunt, know we spend high percentage of our time in work but some of it should be fun not stressful. My ED took on her new roll as boss lady Monday, despite fabulous pay rise just hope it doesn't stress her out too much either.
Nihahi, hope you are ok ? all well but weary here. Revving up to Bingo tonight though, need the fun and laughter never mind the money lol.
Movie, how you keeping ? bet Japan seems ages ago. any more adventures coming up ?
Benny, how's Diamond ? have you tried to ride her yet or is she still skitish. There was a beautiful collared dove on DH's shed roof and it was bobbing up and down to the music from his radio lol.
Dakota, don't know where you get energy from. Good luck with your surgery this month too.
Maria, you sound really well, knew you would get through this sxxt. keep on having fun.
Mowenna, welcome to this mad thread, your avatar looks just like me not that long ago, now short and slightly curly hair growing well and love the style. Seems thicker and stronger too. Also have fingernails which no longer break when I look at them ! That chemo gets everywhere ( thank goodness ).
Have a cake to do again not in the mood, will be ok when covered in icing sugar and modelling away like a little kid with clay.
LOVE TO ALL XX

sorry girls, been reading but you know me.....missing in action this week. It's been an emotional roller coaster. After tonight there is 1 more sleep til the big day!!! Its funny isn't it, I couldn't wait to get it over and done with, calling the nurse to find out when the big day is...... but now that it's here I'm nervous, scared, angry, you name it, I'm feeling it. But I know one thing, I'm definetely feeling the love and positive vibes from you girls....you girls rock! You are all my inspiration.

Liefie, running around like a headless chook I am....( saying my mum uses) lol......I went and bought 2 new pairs of pjs, flannel encase its cold, and silky incase I need to slide off the bed to the ladies room....lol. I bought some camisoles and I have shirts here I packed my sons stuff today to take to mums. I am yet to pack but everything is laid out in the spare room....It's almost as if I've 'nested' as you do when you are pregnant.....cleaned house and all. Tomorrow I will wash the floor so DH has a nice clean house to come home too (not that it's dirty but you girls know what I mean) !! I think I need a trailor or my brothers ute to come and pick up all the toys DS wants to take to nanas house!!! (mind you he has so many there already, they are going to love it!! lol) .
Enjoy your day girls. I'll be heading off to bed very soon ( my intentions anyway!!) xxx
-
Traii....we TOTALLY get the emotional rollercoaster thing as well as the "nesting/cleaning" feeling. I'm sure there is a huge part of you that doesn't want this surgery....but once you are back home, and getting on with THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, things will seem much more normal for you again. You have helped so many people get through their chemo with humour and strength.....time for us to help you! Better explain to the hospital that you need the biggest rooms they've got, cause the pocket parties are going to be record breaking!
Edi....been watching Wimbledon on tv...shame you're not having their weather..it looks much warmer there. What's going on with the "cake - not interested" mindset????? Your hair sounds lovely!
websister....have a fabulous time away.....never more deserved!!!!!!
Haven't had enough coffee yet today to respond to everyone.....will check back in later. Love to all

Morning ladies,
Everybody still sleeping, so time to sneak on here. Elder DS, the stressed one, left last night on the same plane that brought DIL, who had to work every day over the long weekend. She and youngest DS so happy to be reunited after a few days apart. What a joy to see them so obviously in love - makes me wish I was that young again - LOL. She is so small, weighs barely over 100 lbs, and looked so tired last night. A few days of rest, sunshine, good food and TLC will take care of that. We love her like our own, so it is really easy to spoil her.
Traii, happy nesting, cleaning and packing. In a few weeks' time this will all be behind you, and you can take on life with your brand new boobies! You sound really well-prepared to me, and everything will be just fine. Surgery is certainly not nice, but for me it is better than chemo, because once it's over, you can recover and be done. We all love you with your fun personality and your positive attitude. You go girl!
Nihahi, hope you got some shut-eye last night? Is it still so hot there? DD in Edmonton concerned for her chickens in his heat, sprays them with water to cool them down, and her veg garden is wilting despite watering. Here it is also supposed to be very hot with temps climbing every day as the week goes on. Will take refuge in the lake, the only cool place.
Edi, glad for your ED in her new position, and hope that she will be able to handle the stress. DS works for a medium size accounting firm, and the partners take on more and more clients without hiring more people to do the work. A few weeks ago two of them unexpectedly came into DS' office, and took away some of the files he was supposed to do, because they realized that his load was way too heavy, and told him so. DS feeling a bit like a failure because he wants to please them, but is struggling to meet their deadlines which nobody can meet with that workload. He takes pride in his work, and is really meticulous. I think it was too little too late, and they will be losing him. A pity, because he actually likes the office and the people there. He often works Saturdays and some Sundays too - just not right even though he gets paid overtime. Nobody can live like that. I preached to him about doing just 30 min. of exercise every day to release the pressure. He knows he has to do it, but doesn't have the energy. Small kids, small worries. Big kids, big worries, eh?
Now I've written a novel - lol- sorry! A good day to everyone!
-
Hi all.......
Traii......you are entitled to feel any way you want.......no matter how you look at it, this is a big(but necessary) SX.......and Nihahi is right, we will all be in the OR room with you! You can do this...... XO
RE: Audi.......found out I would have to put $$$$ into her......13 yrs old, over 110,000 miles......made a quick decision (after consult with mechanic) to ditch her, and I got a VW Jetta Sportwagon TDI........that thing can get 700+ miles on open road....all on one tank of fuel. I could ALMOST (but not quite) make it to Glacier!
VERY tired today......could be the 14 mile day I had yesterday.......heading to bed early tonight......have to take my feral cat to groomers in the early a.m. To get shaved.......she will NOT let me brush her uber-long fur.....so, once a year she goes to groomers for a "Lion" cut.......afterwards she's p.o.'d for DAYS......and we barely see her. A very WEIRD cat, to be sure!
Hope you all have good evenings (or mornings-depending on where you are in the world!)
XO
Namaste and God Bless - Jackie
PS: Edi - pics of your song to be beautiful cake!
-
Thinking of you Traii.....(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((X)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Edi....hope all goes well for your hubby's eye. Is it macular degeneration???? My mom had that, unfortunately, the type that cannot be treated. A friend here goes every couple months for an injection in his eye, seems to help him lots!!!!!
Movie.....can you say ROAD TRIP!!!! Enjoy the new wheels!
-
Jackie,
Our long-haired boy-cat developed intractable matts a couple of years ago, so my son took him to the vets, where he works, and gave him a lion-cut.
The cat really seemed quite relaxed about the whole thing, but it was his sister who really seemed to have her little nose put out of joint! She hissed at him whenever he came too close, glared at him at other times, and even refused to eat for a few days!!
I really don't know if it was his appearance (strange new cat) or maybe he smelled wrong from being at the vets and sedated! Most unexpected reaction - concerning but quite amusing. Only lasted a few days, then they were back to normal!
-
Well day one of Taxol over with. I cried like a baby this morning not sure why I was so freaked out. Had to pull myself out of the restroom at the clinic. So far so good hope it stays like this.
Traii thinking of you, I will be right in your pockets. Wishing you minimal recovery time.Take Take this time for you and let others take care of you so you can recover.
Morewenna and Movie you are making me want to shave my cats like lions just cause it sounds like they would look cool.
Dakota I missed that you are having surgery this month as well. When is it and what for?
Well going to bed didn't sleep well last night.
Love to all -
Thanks soooooooooooooo much ladies for your warm wishes for Friday.
I'm packed, DS is at my parents house as sad as I was leaving him there knowing he is in the best of hands he could possibly be in, they are not my hands....But I know that this is something i HAVE to do.
It is 11pm here and I can't eat or drink from midnight onwards, so think I might go and eat a packet of Tim Tams....lol joke joke !!
Talk to you on the 'other side' with my new girls !!!
Take care
-
Traii......hugs, hugs, hugs.
Maria......sometimes the tears just happen. I sobbed, literally, for the entire time of my very last chemo appt. Best to let those tears out, than keep them bottled up.
Happy 4th to all the Americans on here.
Morwenna...you have some odddddd cats, but then, I'm a dog person, not a cat person.
Edi...bet the cake was lovely....motivated or not.
-

For Traii, love and hugs xx
-
Happy 4th of July to all you American sisters.

Sun cracking the flags here, shock horror !! Had a lovely day just pottering.
Finished the christening cake Nihahi, just have to force myself to get going. Turned out ok so happy now. They don't know what is problem with DH eye yet, he is having various tests may just be high blood pressure that caused it, he is on tablets which have brought it down.
Movie, cars can be such a pain ! new one sounds great.
Liefie, how lovely that you have someone else to spoil, she will be a new woman after all the rest and food.
Maria, you brought back a memory, I was a sobbing wreck and couldn't get out of toilet on the day of my first chemo. Had to take Immodium, sobbed all the way to the hospital
Everyone there was so lovely and it all went well. Fear of the unknown part of the problem. You did well be proud of yourself
Need a coffee !! Night night xx
-
