And after Rep Cummings released the full transcript of the IRS manager review we find out that Rep Issa has been cherry-picking same, hiding same, because the transcript reveals a low-level, self-described Conservative targeting Conservative groups and he has denied any communication with the White House or higher up IRS officials.

Add Issa to the trainwreck above.

And, I guess it is that time of year where we move on to Obama's vacations lol.

She's skinnier, but her breasts are bigger. Is she going for the Barbie doll look to match her Alaskan Barbie brain?

Issa...you mean the car thief?  Is anyone surprised by this?  Sadly, it won't matter to his followers since their value system is based on anti-Obama lies.

Re: the Daily News pic, as the subject of many unflattering photographs myself, I'm torn between sympathy and . . . horror.

Here's hoping for a day without rain on the east coast.

Re: the Daily News pic too ... she has looked noticeably less stylish and put-together when she goes out without a stylist session first.  I, too, have been the subject of unflattering pix (many!), but she is responsible for the roots, the shoes and the entire outfit.  And the "I fell into a makeup counter" look.  I'm sorry -- I have no sympathy for the woman who has said so many awful things and revealed herself to be a truly awful person (gun sights, "blood libel," "Let Allah sort it out," "shuck and jive," etc.).  No sympathy here.

Rain, rain, stay away (on the East Coast).  I have mushrooms growing in my yard!

The car thief - exactly correct, E - his followers and fellow-travelers aren't interested in the truth.  They are only interested in trashing the President and obstructing this country.

    Morning Ladies,

That picture of Palin is a hoot.  I saw her on Fox news the other day (Tim was home and had it on the TV).  She really did not look well.  She looked so much better when she was on the campaign trail and the Republicans were funding her appearance.  Got to hand it to her though, she's done a fine job of keeping herself in the news.

Hope everyone is having a good day today.  Want to give a shout out to a close friend of mine on her birthday!  Happy Pink Day dear friend!

    hugs,

    Bren

Thanks for the link, alexandria!  One forgets how very stupid Palin is -- the pictures are bad enough, but actually hearing that voice and those vapid comments ... ugh.  Wonder if she's learned to read yet?

John Oliver is hysterically funny -- I love the Daily Show.  I, too, want them both!

Okay -- I'm trying to wrap my brain around why rightwingers/fundies are so against emergency contraception, especially as it doesn't appear as though they are adhering to any Roman Catholic principles.  I can only guess that it is really because they DO NOT WANT girls or women to have/enjoy sex.  Perfectly okay if they are taken by force because, after all doncha know, men just can't help themselves...Oh, and the PENALTY for having sex and being "a bad girl" is getting pregnant, I guess.

But the Plan B pill does NOT equate with abortion, does NOT equate with a "potential" zygote being alive, does not fulfill any of the criteria the anti-abortionists are so concerned with.  So....it must be the girls and sex thing.  It seems these folks think gun regulation is a case of government over-reach, but uterus regulation is just fine, folks.   Ugh!

    From Think Progress:

Earlier this month, the Obama Administration dropped its fight to restrict over-the-counter emergency contraception for young women. Now, Plan B will be available without a prescription for women of all ages — but that move hasn’t exactly made social conservatives happy. Anti-choice groups are already trying to figure out how they can lobby for state laws that will restrict access to emergency contraception despite the Obama Administration’s position.

In Arkansas, abortion opponents are already pushing the legislature to consider imposing either an age limit or a total ban on Plan B sales next year. Jerry Cox, the director of the state’s conservative Christian Family Council, told Arkansas News that the new federal policy on emergency contraception means that “essentially, kids can get contraception now as easy as they can buy candy out of the store,” and that “bothers” him enough to consider lobbying for legislative action.

Okay, rant over!  Athena, I'm jumping in the basket too!

C4C, that's one thing that's never made sense to me. Shouldn't those who are anti-abortion be pro-birth control? Wouldn't that reduce abortions? And it doesn't seem to be only emergency contraception. It seems that many on the right, and not just Catholics, are now opposing all contraception. What sense does that make? So your theory on the girls and sex things is about the only thing I've come up with too.

    Hi Athena-

I'll be in the basket as well, though it may be a bit difficult since I am having my own MRI today.

6 month checkup coming...I'm on a schedule alternating MRIs with mammograms. I don't actually get nervous until I'm in the MRI machine itself. Then I can hear my own heart beating in my ears.

Mary .. thinking of you today.  The MRI machine  freaks me out too.  It's so claustrophobic and noisy in there.  Hoping for the all clear!

Mary - good luck.  I'm hoping I can continue to get thru this life without ever having an MRI. - shudder even thinking of it.  Hoping it goes fast - and is b-o-r-i-n-g.

    thinking of Athena too....

c4c - thanks for the links.  I don't often read on this subject, as I still can't imagine how, why, anyone thinks he or she has the right to tell a woman what to do with her body.  If there is a fetus, and the woman does not want to be pregnant, it is still, and will be for a long, long, time, legal for her to stop being pregnant.  End. Of. Story. Her decision. Her life.  I can't remember what Zero Polulation Growth changed its name to, but it's still active. Reprodutive health is a crucially important part of all countries health services.

I still respect the words of Gloria Steinum:"If men could become pregnant, abortion would be a sacrement."

More hugs to Athena..and Mary...in their respective medical tests today...
