Hi, Tenaj!!! So glad you had a great weekend with your daughter and her best friend!! There is nothing better than a girls' weekend, buying the perfect wedding dress and enjoying good food!! it sounds like you made great food choices!!! I am sure you got more exercise than you think!!! Hugs and Blessings, Kathy
-
Thanks Kathy! I do have arthritis in my hands so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the reason.
I'm off to Italy and Spain for a month at the end of July and I can't wait. It is great to have something positive to focus on......
I hope everyone is doing well :-) -
Welcome Candie! You will find a lot of encouragement on this thread. These ladies are wonderful.
Hi Everyone! I had a crazy weekend with my DS, DIL and granddaughter, Erin, here. Erin was sick when they arrived with some sort of stomach virus, then both my DS and DIL caught it and I ended up playing nursemaid for the weekend. I did however enjoy every minute with my precious family. Fortunately, they began feeling better when it was time for them to return home.
Yesterday painters arrived at our house, and today they finished painting several rooms downstairs as well as the long hallway upstairs. It came out beautiful, but I have worked like a dog today cleaning up the mess. I am bone weary tired! I woke up at 4 am and couldn't go back to sleep. My body just hurts everywhere. It's been a very long day.
So glad that many of you are doing well. I haven't been to my water therapy class in over a week, but I am going tomorrow. I need it so badly. On a sad note, I learned that one of the ladies in my class began to lose her vision. She went to the emergency room and they discovered lesions on her spine and brain. They are thinking it's lymphoma. She is in her 60s, and lost her husband to lymphoma 15 years ago. My heart is just broken for her. Her name is Barbara. She was the first lady that I met in the locker room at the pool where we have our class. She is so kind to everyone. Why is life so hard sometimes (rhetorical question)? It's sad!
Well I am off to the shower and a nice cup of herbal tea before I go to bed. I am pooped! I hope you ladies have a lovely evening.

Firstly, welcome Candie! I missed a whole page when I made my last post and didn't know you had joined us....my apologies..... Well done with quitting smoking. I'm sure you'll start losing now that you have made up your mind :-)
Tenaj, it sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. Wedding planning is so much fun....
Rocket, so sorry to hear about your friend, yes life can seem very harsh at times...
Kathy, sorry about my out of sequence post, silly me! -
Dear Tammy!! I am sure you are so looking forward to your trip to Italy and Spain!!! How exciting!!! Are you taking a tour?? Keep us posted!
Rocket, I am so sorry to hear about your friend, Barbara. I am sure you will be a source of comfort, strength and encouragement for her. She will be in my thoughts and prayers! -
Dear Tammy! I forgot to ask: any news with your scans, blood work and other tests?
-
Kathy, thanks for asking, I don't see the Doctor until Monday and that will probably be more tests....
My DH will be playing golf in the World Masters Games for one week and we have a car for exploring the rest of the time.... -
Hi ladies! I'm stopping in from my ocean view picnic table to say hello. Tammy...Good luck tomorrow with your appointment, keep us posted. And I would love to hear all about your upcoming trip!
Rocket, so sorry to hear about your visit with your family playing nurse. Hopefully you didn't catch it.
Hi Kathy, how have you been feeling? Past ailments resolved I'm hoping. You are doing so well with the weight loss. How is Lily? Getting big so quick I'm sure.
I've been on vacation this week, the ocean always energizes me. It's my first week off without MD appts in a very long time. I am working Monday & Tuesday, will be busy the rest of the week prepping for the shower on Saturday. I'm very excited! It's Italian theme, and as usual I have cooked & ordered more food than people! I will be good eating this week so I can indulge at the party!
Have a wonderful day! -
Hi, Tenaj!!! There is nothing like the view and smell of the ocean to renew you!! Good for you, enjoy!! You are having the shower at your home, right? I love Italian food!! Have fun and don't work too hard!! Fun times!!
I am feeling great, and my doctor does not particularly care for WW for my particular case, since I am pre- diabetic!! Yikes, I have been pretty successful on it!!! She wants me to tweak it with her diet for me!! She totally wants me to give up bread and sugar!! Ok, here I go again!! But I am determined to keep this weight off!! We just helped move my son and DIL into their new place and I lost another 5 lbs!! I have to have blood work again at the end of July to see how my A1C is!! I am also being weaned off of neurontin, since my nerve pain from the shingles is virtually gone!!! Oh, my gosh, neurontin can be wicked!! I have felt anxious and a little depressed!! Hopefully, these symptoms will last only a few weeks!! Exercising and staying busy helps!!!!OK, the only meds, I am going to take from now on, are my aromasin, VitD3, and a multi vitamin!!! -
Hi, Tammy, I hope everything goes well for you, tomorrow!!! Keep us posted!!!
-
Kathy, wow, another 5 lbs!! Giving up bread and sugar must seem soooo hard at first but you obviously have the will power to do it! Sorry to read that you have felt anxious and a little depressed...me too. I'm sure exercising and eating well helps. I'm also thinking about meditation...I've dabbled with it in the past and it is great when I've found the time to do it :-). One of our fellow BC friends has a website with a healing meditation and I can send you the link if you are interested.
Tenaj, enjoy the ocean and the prep for the shower. I think half the fun of these things is in the planning.....
I saw the Dr and he wants me to check with my Oncologist before we do anything else. My appointment isn't until late next week so I have a bit more of a wait.....
Take care everyone :-) -
Dear Tammy, I know waiting is hard, hang in there!! The meditation sounds wonderful, yes please send the link !
-
Hi Gals,
Kathy, I will probably be on Neurontin for a very long time to treat my RSD. If I miss a dose, it feels like ants are crawling all over my chest, near my mastectomy scars and armpit. I also feel intense burning pain in my arm hand and both feet. So, unfortunately, I have to take the drug to get relief. I am so happy that you are able to get off of it. I pray that someday I will too, but I have been on it for three years now. Congrats on your weight loss. You are such an inspiration!
Tenaj, I can feel you excitement about the shower. I am Italian, so I can appreciate the love of Italian food. Enjoy every minute!
Tammy, praying that all your tests come out just fine. Your trip sounds wonderful! We are planning a few mini vacation trips later this summer. For the next three weeks straight we have company here at the house without a break, hence the need for some vacation time after all of that. My DH is the director of a summer program at the Univeristy, so it's his busiest season right now. Life is still beautiful in the mountains, and I am enjoying it as much as I can.
Hello to all you ladies I haven't mentioned individually. I hope you are doing well. -
Dearest Rocket, I remember now that you told me you are also on neurontin!! My doctor would have kept me on this med, if my pain continually got worse!! I guess my withdrawal symptoms were pretty severe!! I was on 1800 mg daily! I sure hope you are feeling good, you are such a strong woman!!! I am very sensitive to any kind of pain medication, even over the counter meds!!! Enjoy your company, but rest whenever you can, and look forward to those getaways!!!! Hugs, Kathy
-
Hi, Tammy!!! Just checking in to see how you are doing!! Did you have your appointment?? Thinking of you!!! Hugs to CookieMonster, Tenaj, ATeamNana, Jaytee and Rocket!
I gained a couple of pounds back over the weekend!!! I had too much fun eating, but back on track this week!!! Walked and did the elyptical today!! Blessings, Kathy -
Hi everyone! This thread has been very quite, I hope that means that all are enjoying the summer.
Tammy, how did you make out with your appointment & tests?
Kathy & Rocket I hope you are feeling well. Boy, that's a lot of neurontin!! We're you able to ween yourself offf?
The shower last weekend went perfectly!, the weather was gorgeous, the day before a heat wave hit! Of course I had way too much food & we have been eating left overs all week. I gained at least 2 lbs, but I knew that was to be expected. I took a bike ride that past 2 nights & hope to keep it up. Now that the shower is over I can focus on myself. My dress came in & I have to go for a fitting. Guess I'm not going to loose the 15-20 lbs I was hoping for. Right now I am glad I feel well! I will keep plugging away & hope I we see results even if it it slowly!
Thinking of you all! Hugs & prayers... Hi AteamNana, cookiemonster & jaytee!!
Janet

Hi, Tenaj!!! So good to see you!!! Yes, it has been quiet here!! I am so glad the shower was a huge success!! You are the hostess with the mostest !! I love that expression!!! Don' t worry about dieting now, just enjoy all the wedding preparations and have fun!! We took a bike ride today as well!!! I have been off the neurontin for almost a month now!! Feeling so much better, thank you!!!!
Miss Rocket, CookieMonster, Jaytee , Tammy and ATeamNana!!!
Tammy, hope all the testing went well!!!! -
Kathy, Janet, Rocket - thanks for your best wishes and sorry that I've taken so long to reply...
The Drs think everything is OK but I'm still having tests just to make sure. I had an MRI on Friday and go back to the Oncologist in a couple of weeks. My original problem seems to have resolved so at least that's a positive!
Kathy, here is the link for the meditation...... marnieclark.com/guided-meditation/
Best wishes to everyone... -
Dear Tammy!! So good to hear from you, and so glad your original issue has been resolved!!! Thoughts and prayers are coming your way as you continues with testing!!!!Please keep us posted!!! Thank you so much for the link!
Hugs to everyone here!!! Happy Sunday! Kathy -
Good morning!! I wanted to wish you all a very Happy Fourth of July!!! Be safe and enjoy the festivities wherever you are!!! God Bless America!!
-
Happy 4th! Be safe & enjoy! I will be working but when I get home I get to spend the rest of the weekend camping at the beach with both my children! It is very beautiful to watch the fireworks from Fire Island over Long Island! This is also my last holiday I have to work this year!! Yippy!
Tammy, glad you got a good report from the doc!
Hi Kathy, I love that saying also! Hostess with the mostest! My mother always said that to me!! Have a wonderful holiday & weekend ((hugs)) -
How is everyone travelling? I hope you had a great holiday and got some rest and relaxation :-)
-
Hi, Tenaj and Tammy!! Tenaj, so glad you got to spend the 4th with your children!! I am sure the fireworks were just beautiful!! We loved being with our Lily as she watched her first fireworks!!! She was so funny!!
Tammy, I hope your 4th was wonderful! I hope you rested and relaxed!
Yikes, we have to revive this thread!! I really miss seeing all the other lovely ladies here!! Hi, Cookie Monster, Rocket, Jaytee and ATeamNana
Hubby and I took a bike ride yesterday, then stopped and ate breakfast !!! I have been so bad about going to WW meetings, but I am still following the plan and exercising every day. I am maintaining my weight, but not losing!!! I am going to step it up this week!!!
Love and Hugs to you all!!!! -
Hi Gals, hopefully I will be more of a regular on this thread. I have had company for three weeks straight without a break. I have also eaten too much as I have been cooking three meals a day for company. My DH and I don't normally eat that often. We eat one big meal a day and then eat fruits and veggies the rest of the day. We eat a lot of salad and bean meals. Unfortunately our company doesn't eat like we do, so I was cooking pasta and a lot of other things that have caused me to gain weight. I am determined to get back on track this week with both healthy eating and exercise. In two more weeks my DH's summer program will be over and we can take some much-needed vacation time. We plan to do some sight-seeing around our area since we have only lived here a year and haven't had time to see some of the exciting places within a few hours from here.
So I'm making split pea soup for dinner tonight and salad for lunch. I hope you all have a lovely and healthy day! -
Hi, Rocket, so good to see you!! I certainly understand having company and the way you eat!! You and your hubby have a great eating plan and you will get back on track soon. I am sure you are looking forward to much needed relaxation and rest once your hubby is on vacation!! We are headed to Palm Desert once baseball calms down!! It is so hot there now, so we will sweat our weight away, he,he, he!!!!!
-
Hi girls! It's been a while but just wanted to say hello & send my best.

Enjoy!!! I am maintaining my weight, just want to keep losing!! My doctor was very pleased with my A1C bloodwork!! No medication!!! Hooray!!! Hi to all the girls and hugs!!!!
-

-
