WOW six miles Tenaj! I wish! I walked two today on a hiking trail. My DH and I went for a beautiful walk and saw mountain and pastoral views. We took the dogs with us, Baxter & Murray, our mini goldendoodles. We hiked over streams, and the dogs LOVED playing in the water. It was glorious! After our trek we headed to McDonalds and I got a smoothie - a small one though. What a beautiful day! My foot is still swelling and painful, but I don't care! I need to be outside enjoying life again.
Kathy, so glad you are feeling better and well enough to use the treadmill and elyptical. I am frustrated with the gym. I don't like riding an exercise bike indoors. I'd much rather be outside enjoying the scenery.
Hey Tammy - hope you are on the mend. Hi Cookie Monster and ATeam Nana. Have a wonderful weekend ladies!
-
Rocket, good to hear to are getting out and about...I've been told to rest my hip, no long walks, it's only been a day and I'm already frustrated!
Tenaj, walking is a great exercise, enjoy yourself....
Good eating everyone! -
Tammy, hope your hip heals quickly, rest and take care of yourself!!! You will be back walking in no time!!! Tenaj, hope you have had a great time in Philly!! You are walking alot, what a great workout!!!! Enjoy your time with your family!!! Rocket, it sounds like you had a glorious day outside!!! Hugs to you all!!!
-
Glad you are feeling better Kathy. Tammy hope your hip is better soon.
Hello to everyone else. Jaytee teneJ Cookiemonster & Rocket.
I hope to get some cleaning out of junk done today. Our town spring clean up is next week so I need to get in gear. Looks like it will be a nice day.
Off to church and lunch with the kiddos then i will tackle the garage:)
Have a great day everyone! -
Hi, ATeamNana, Thank you so much for your well wishes. I feel so much better. I guess the older we get, the more time it takes to heal. We are off the church as well. Hugs and blessings to you all!!!!! Watching baseball games today, son' team has a noon game! The weather has been cool and cloudy, hopefully the sun will peek out soon.

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been MIA, was busy in Philly last weekend. Then the bombing happened. My family is ok but has been on lock down in Cambridge, MA. I've been a nervousness wreck! Of course food makes me feel better but haven't been too bad cause I'm trying to recover rom last weekend!! I hope your feeling better Kathy & don't worry about a slight fluctuation. You're doing great!
Hugs & blessings to you all! -
Dear Tenaj, Oh, my goodness. Stay safe!!! Of course you would be so nervous. Prayers are coming your way for safety! I have the news on now, and there is breaking news of an explosion in WaterTown. I hope this all ends soon. Blessings and hugs to you and your family!!!! Kathy
-
Sorry I haven't posted for a while. I've been very busy with work including this weekend.
Glad to hear the bombers have been found. This was a terrible thing.
On a happier note, my hip is feeling much, much better. I'm back doing some exercise but I need to get my eating under control.....send me positive thoughts
-
Hi, Tammy, I am so glad that your hip is feeling better!!! You can't keep a good woman down, you will do great this week, with exercise and food choices. Have a great Sunday, Kathy
-
Glad to hear you are on the mend Tammy! You will make healthy food choices this week too. I have been doing better with that lately.
Today is my 34th wedding anniversary, and my DH and I went out to eat. I ate a salad with the dressing on the side (and very little dressing). I also ate four of DH's French fries. I ate an apple and some strawberries this afternoon along with a cup of spiced chai tea. I will have some lean protein for dinner and a light snack for dessert or maybe some popcorn. I find that if I plan out what I'm going to eat each day, I'm much more likely to stick to it. Remember, the first bite of something tastes the same as the last. Reminding myself of that helps me stop eating something I love when I'm full. Have a blessed day all! -
Thanks Kathy and Rocket!

Hi ladies! Happy weekend. The good news here is I bought my dress for my son's wedding today. I feel relieved. I was not the 20lbs lighter that I hoped I would be, but am feeling much better it is ordered. I was told it could be altered up to 2 dress sizes smaller if needed, I could only dream!! Lol.....even if I don't loose weight it still looked nice on me so now I feel relaxed. I know the tamoxifen is making it tough to loose weight because if I had ate like I do now years ago I would never be over weight. The weather is just getting warm enough here so I hope that the increased activities like bike riding, walking & yard work will help to counteract the tamoxifen.
Thinking of all of you & sending hugs & encouragement to be happy & healthy....no matter what size!!! We just want to be healthy! (And hopefully a few pounds less)

Hi, Tenaj!!! How exciting that you ordered your dress. I bet it is just beautiful and I am sure it looks beautiful on you!!! Enjoy every minute of the planning and preparations for the wedding. I am so glad the weather is getting better, there is nothing better that walking in the sunshine. Hugs to everyone here and have a great weekend. Kathy
-
Tenaj, great that you have found a dress. Our actual weight is just one part of how we look and feel. It is important to feel relaxed and confident and a great dress can do that for you. I bet you look fabulous in it!
There haven't been a lot of posts lately. Is everyone well? -
Hi, Tammy!! I am so glad that I checked in!!! How are you??? I know, it has been quiet here!! The better weather is hopefully keeping us all busy!!! I have been busy with my granddaughter, Lily!! I still love WW, and I am walking outside!!! Hi to all the wonderful ladies here!!! Have a great weekend!!!
-
Hi Tammy, thanks for the support. Glad to hear your hip is feeling better. Sending positive thoughts to you for good healthy eating, & don't forget lots of water!
Kathy, have you been watching Lily or just lucky enough to be spending time with her? It's all good....so looking forward to be a grandma one day :-) glad to hear your still enjoying WW. Are you feeling better now?
I worked outside today from 8-3.....quite exhausted but happy with how everything looks. Gonna count that as my exercise for today. I've been transplanting flowers, edging flower beds & helping rototill our garden. I may try to plant some lettuce & potato's tomorrow.
We're planning a bridal shower here in June so I'm really motivated to have everything looking its best :-)
Have a great weekend all!
Hi Jaytee, CookieMonster, Rocket & ATeamNana....miss you.... -
Hi everyone, I getting back into exercising now that my hip feels better. Just in time as I've put on a couple of pounds that I need to shift!!!!
I was just reading the post on how few cancer survivors get the recommended amount of weekly exercise and how it drops off over time...lucky we've got each other to keep motivated
-
Hi, Tenaj!!! Gardening is such great exercise and fun!!! I am sure that you are also enjoying planning the bridal shower. Your garden will be just beautiful!! So much to look forward to. Have fun. We are spending alot of time with Lily lately and we love it.
Tammy, Both my new family doctor and onc really push good nutrition and exercise. I am so thankful for that and for all of you here. Blessings, Kathy

Hey Gals,
Just catching up on all your posts. We had friends visiting for a long weekend. They left about an hour ago and I have a ton of housework to do as we are heading back to Eastern NC tomorrow for medical appointments and my sister's 68th birthday. This should be our last trip to Eastern NC until August. I'm so looking forward to seeing my granddaughter Erin again.
As for exercise, before our friends came I was doing quite a bit of walking and using the machines at the gym as well as the aquatic class. Then I started to get relatively severe pain in my right thigh. It almost felt the bone pain in my femur. I also had some pain in the left, but it was not nearly as severe. I stopped exercising while our friends were here to give my body a rest to see if the pain improved. I also took Advil for a few days. The pain is better today, but still there - not nearly as severe though. I have a feeling it may be a side effect of the statin drug my PCP put me on to lower my ridiculous cholesterol. I will see the PCP this week and discuss it with him. I detest having to take medications especially when I eat so carefully. I eat very little cholesterol in my diet. I would appreciate any prayers for this pain to go away and not be anything serious.
Hope you all have a lovely and healthy day! -
Dear Rocket! I sure hope and pray that your pain disappears soon, so that you can enjoy your dear Erin!! I pulled a muscle in my upper back, I think by over exercising, if that is possible!! My doc told me to ease up on the machines and just walk until my back heals!! Hopefully, you can get your Cholesterol down and stop the meds!!!! Unfortunately, the aromatose inhibitors can raise your cholesterol, which one are you taking? I am taking aromasin. Have a safe trip and I sure hope you feel better soon!!!! Blessings, Kathy
Hugs, to TenaJ, Jaytee, ATeamNana, Tammy, and CookieMonster -
Hi Kathy,
I am taking Anastrazole. My onc and PCP both believe that it is due to the medication. I do hope to enjoy my precious Erin. -
Hi everyone. It was a beautiful day today. I only worked half a day and then took off to shop n eat witth my sister and a friend. Much needed relax time. Sorry i have not been here much. I am not eating or exercising as i should. Blood work tomorrow so I was a little better today. I just can not get back into eating good. I keep telling myself tomorrow I will get going again. One day i will follow through

-
To those in pain hoping you are all feeling better soon.
-
Hi, ATeamNana!!! So good to see you!! Hang in there, we all go through the ups and downs of eating right!! You will follow through, thanks for your well wishes for pain relief!!! have a great day!!
-
Welcome back everyone! Quick healing....
-
Hi, Ladies!!! Well, all the back pain I was having was actually nerve pain caused by Shingles. I have or had Shingles, my rash was probably not cellulitis. The Doctor said I could have had both. They took cultures of the rash on my abdomen. Yikes, but I am feeling so much better. I am on nerve pain meds now. Hugs to you all!!! Kathy

-
Oh Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear about your shingles. That can be so painful, did they put you on antiviral meds also? Make sure you take it easy & care for your skin so it an heal. Resting & allowing yourself to heal will make it go away sooner. Sending healing prayers & hugs your way!!!
Good to see you ATeamNana, I'm having a tough time track too! I just try to take one day at a time.
Hi Tammy, Rocket, Jaytee & CookieMonster....thinking of all of you xo -
