I survived it through my 1st colonoscopy....got an excellent report! Then enjoyed 2 slices of delicious pizza on the way home!
Rocket, rest up & take one day at a time. Stay positive & strong! Some days we do better than others, the point is to do our best & even better the next day.....
Kathy, hope your feeling well & getting to spend time with Lily.
Have a nice evening all! -
Dear Rocket!! I am so glad that got to see old friends, but I sure hope you feel better soon!! Rest and heal!!! Tenaj, so glad the colonoscopy is over!!! The Pizza sounded wonderful, good for you!!!!! Babysitting Lily tomorrow!!! Hugs to you all, Kathy

Hi, wonderful Ladies!! I hope you are all having a relaxed and enjoyable Memorial weekend!! I am so grateful for the men and women who have and are serving Our Great Country!!!! May you all have a very Blessed day!
-
I am grateful for the men and women who help protect our country. I may not agree with every decision that the military leaders make, but I appreciate the sacrifice that our military members make.
Right now I think I'm most grateful for an extra day of rest after a busy weekend.
Have a great one!

Hi Ladies,
I have been MIA again. I needed rest, but am still feeling very tired and run down. It didn't help that when I got down I ate half a bag of black licorice jelly beans! It does help with constipation however - who knew! LOL!
I am determined to get back to my old self. I have a blister on my foot from walking too far in a pair of walking shoes on uneven terrain. Yesterday I went a bought a pair of hiking shoes for summer. I have hiking boots, but needed some lower-cut shoes that I could wear in the woods. I am anxious to try them out, but must let my foot heal first.
I have been going to my aquatic therapy in the pool at the gym. I enjoy the ladies there and have even made a friend. She likes to get together. I think she needs a friend too.
Okay enough about me, I hope you all are doing well with your fitness goals. When I fall off the horse, I need to get back up again. That's what I'm working on this week - getting back up. Hang in there Gals. Together we can do this!
Love you all...
-
Hi, Rocket!!! So good to see you!! Black licorice jelly beans are my favorite candy as well!! You are allowed! Your exercise regimen is wonderful. So glad you have found a buddy to bond with!! Girlfriends are important!!!Hubby and I went hiking this weekend, hoped it would offset all the eating we did, he,he,he!!! I also watched Lily for 8 hours on Frday, yikes, now I know why age is definitely a factor in raising and taking of children! She is a joy, but I was tired!!!!
Tenaj: how are the wedding plans coming???
CookieMonster: When does school end?
Tammy: How is your hip?
Hugs to Jaytee and ATeamNana Miss you!!!!!
I just came back from doing the stationary bike and elyptical!! If I am going to eat, I have to exercise! I am on a plateau right now!! I have lost 20 lbs, but I am at a standstill!!
Thank you for letting me go on and on!! Coming here gives me the encouragement I need!!! Love you all, Kathy -
You can blow yourself right off that plateau Kathy. Just eat less and exercise more. I know, much easier said than done (from the one eating the jelly beans).
You are very disciplined and losing twenty pounds is a wonderful accomplishment. Hang in there Girl! You can totally do this!
-
Thank you, dear Rocket! Today is the the day, for getting off that plateau!!!! Hugs, Kathy!
-
Hello! My hip is still a little sore but I'm starting to exercise...I need to due to my weight gain :-)
On a bad note, I think I may have truncal lymphoedema...I need to see a specialist to get it checked out :-(
Take care everyone! -
Tammy, I'm so sorry to here that. What are your symptoms if you don't mind me asking...I have wondered at times if I have it, but I think mostly it is just my excess weight. I hope you feel better quickly.
Kathy, 20lbs!!!! That is fantastic! Just keep what your doing because it sounds like its working for you. I need to do more exercise. We are camping this week so I do a lot of walking so that's a start. I feel like I am stuck in the mud, but I'm still trying.
Rocket, rest up & enjoy your hiking.
I've been busy doing gardening & work around the yard. The bridal shower is at my house 6/22, I'm so excited. My dress should be in any day....doesn't look like I'll be the 10lbs lighter that I was hoping for.....at this rate, I'll take 5lbs.
Have a restful night & glorious day tomorrow! -
Tammy, sorry to hear about your truncal LE!! You will get it resolved, an LE specialist will do wonders!! It sounds like you got it early.
Tenaj, wow, you are having the bridal shower at your home, how fun!!! You will look beautiful in your dress! Have fun camping!!!! -
Tammy, so sorry to hear of your truncal LE. I suffer from it too. I wear a compression bra by WearEase. I think it's the Sydney bra and it's very comfortable. My therapist recommended it and I can wear it a long time without it irritating me. I pray that you can find relief.
Tenaj - details Girl, we want details!
What does your dress look like? Is it long, tea length or short? What color? Sparkles, satin, crepe, sheer with layers? I want to live vicariously through your experience so do share if you feel so inclined. I know you will look beautiful in it. How exciting for you.
I'm planning to do a serious workout this morning as soon as I get off my duff, but wanted to say good morning to you lovely ladies first. Have a truly blessed day all!
-
Dear Rocket, I just love your new picture!! You are so pretty and you look so rested!! Have fun with your workout!! Rich and I just walked, and then walked to the grocery store!! Broccoli and chicken for lunch!!!!
Thanks to everyone here!!! You keep me motivated!!!!! -
Didn't get my workout. My day fell apart with other obligations. Tomorrow I have a hike to a waterfall scheduled with a friend and unless it's stormy outside, I'm going! Thanks for your sweet compliment Kathy. I wish I knew what you all looked like, but I understand everyone's desire for privacy too. Have a wonderful evening all.
-
Hey, wonderful Ladies and Friends!! There is always hope, and the motto "Never Give Up" holds true. I thought I had gained weight, but at WW today, I lost 3.8 pounds!!! Thank you, friends!! Prayers, and coming here gives me such encouragement, accountability and support!!! Hugs and Blessings, Kathy
Yikes, hubby wants to go to lunch and celebrate!!! -
Wow Kathy I am very proud of you & a bit jealous I must confess. That is fantastic that you continue to do so well. I feel as though I am stuck in the mud, I just can't seem to loose weight. I am taking tamoxifen 1 year today. My MO had originally put me on aromasin because he felt that many women complained about gaining weight with tamoxifen. So....of course I didn't want that so I agreed to aromasin. They put me in menopause with injections & off I went. Well, I couldn't take aromasin, tried femara for about 9 months & couldn't take that because of the bone/joint pain. So....tamoxifen it is. I am maintaining my weight with minor fluctuations of 2-3 lbs. I want to loose 20lbs. I will keep trying, but I guess I have to remind myself that this medicine is keeping the BC away! Thanks for listening. You are an inspiration!
Hi Rocket, I too like your new pic. You're very pretty. I would put a picture of me or my dog but I am not so good with computers & have no clue on how to do it. My dress is full dark blue, full length, chiffon & strapless. I will probably have cap sleeves made out of the shawl that comes with it, when it comes in I will try it on again. They didn't have my size so it was hard to tell exactly how the top would fit. It's made by demetrios style 642 if you want to google it. Of course I wish I was the size of the model. They ordered me a 14 so it could be adjusted accordingly. Stating that you can always take it in but not out!
Hugs & blessings to all! -
Dearest Tenaj, please don't be envious of me!! I have needed to lose this weight for such a long time, and I need to lose more! With being pre-diabetic, my doctors will be so mad if I give up now! It is so darn hard to lose weight, and I am crabby all the time, he,he,he!!! I am doing it very slowly, but I know the feeling of wanting to get it off fast, especially before a wedding! You are going to look beautiful!!! You are beautiful, and don't you forget it!!! Aromasin is hard, but once you are on it for awhile, it gets better!!! Lots of hugs, Kathy
-
Kathy, I wish we lived near each other. I would love to meet you. You are a special person & you always make me feel better when I read your posts. Thanks!
(((Hugs))) -
Dear Tenaj!!! I feel the sme way about you!!! We need to plan something for the future, a reunion with all these wonderful ladies here!!
-
I've been busy with work and I've just caught up on all the news....
Kathy, you are an inspiration!!
Rocket, I am waiting for a good photo so I can post it...unfortunately I think I'll be waiting a long, long time :-)
Tena, regarding my symptoms, I've been experiencing breast swelling since my surgery but I now also have pain down my rib cage on the side of the surgery and I can also feel something like a cord...yuck!
This week I'm having lots of tests which makes comfort food VERY attractive to compensate. Coming here and admitting it makes me resolve not to give in...thank you! -
Tammy, good luck with your tests, keep us posted. You will feel better soon. I've read on here that once it has been diagnosed some of the treatments help with the discomfort. I'll be sending healing prayers & good vibes your way! :-) And don't worry, we all need comfort food at times.
Kathy, I love the idea of a reunion!! I've always wanted to go to California. Or perhaps if your on the east coast......for now I have to get through the wedding in September, everything I plan seems to be geared to that. Something fun & positive to thing in the future :-)
Have a great day.....off to work.... -
Dear Tammy!!! Good thoughts and prayers are coming your way as you go through all your testing!! And I hope your pain resolves soon!! Yes, keep us posted! Thank you also for your kind words!! Hugs, Kathy
-
Good morning ladies. Tammy I hope your feeling better :-)
I had a better week, down 2 lbs. the trick will be to keep it off this weekend. I'm leaving shortly with my daughter's best friend/maid of honor to visit her in Boston. We're having a girls weekend & wedding dress shopping! I won't be eating home cooked meals so I know that is a problem, I will do my best to make healthy choices. The salt always gets me when I eat out. I wish the weather was going to be nicer....we're under tropical storm warnings with lots of rain....so looks like walking will be limited. I'll post when I get a chance to give an update.
Kathy, good luck at your weigh in your doing great! Rocket I hope your enjoying your pups & walking.
Have a great weekend all! Thinking about you all, miss you Jaytee, CookieMonster & ATeamNana. -
Dear Tenaj!! Down 2lbs!!! That is wonderful!! Enjoy your weekend, and be safe! I just listened to the news, and yes it is going to be a wet weekend in the East!!! You will do great with eating, and just walking from store to store is exercise!! I have to miss WW today, we are helping our younger son and DIL move into to their new town home!! Lots of painting and cleaning first!! I think I lost another pound, but not sure!! The scale at WW might be different than the scale I have!!
Hugs and Blessings to all!!!! -
Hello! Thanks for your kind wishes...yes, I am feeling better but my bone scan showed a spot which they 99% think is OK but I may need some more tests :-(
On a positive note my eating is under control and I'm enjoying lots of exercise :-)
Tenaj and Kathy, good work! -
Dear Tammy, thoughts and prayers are coming your way, don't worry!! I know it is hard not to, my heart goes out to you! Our doctors always watch us extra closely, which is good, but drives us crazy!! I am sure that spot is scar tissue or arthritis!!!You are doing great with lots of exercise !!! Hugs!!!! Kathy

Hi my name is Candie and I need to lose weight. I have gained a lot of weight, and I mean alot..about 60 lbs. since I was dx'd in 2006. I was already a bit overweight but it is out of control now. I am joining all the thread I can right now. I quit smoking 4 years ago (with the help of the quit smoking thread) so I thought I should come hear for help. I read a few pages of posts.
I will return...
Candie
-
Hi, Candie!! Welcome, so glad that you have joined us!!! You will get lots of support and encouragement here !! I also gained weight since I was diagnosed in 2004!! I am still taking aromasin, which doesn't help either!! But I have lost weight with Weight watchers, walking and the gym!! Gosh, it is so hard!! I finally figured out that low carb and no sugar is the way to lose for me!! Again, so glad you have joined us!!!! Hugs , Kathy
-
Candie, the ladies here are wonderful!!!
-
Welcome Candie!
I had a great weekend with my daughter & her best friend who is like a daughter to me. We found her wedding dress! She looks beautiful. It was the last dress at her 3rd appt! Of course we ate out all weekend, I made the best choices I could make. Salad instead of French fries....fruit instead of a pastry....but I know the scale is up. I enjoyed some prosecutor & champagne...but it was worth it!! I will wait a few days to really check, I know eating out causes me to have fluid retention.
Have a great healthy week!
