Congratulations Grandma!  I know what you mean about the sadness of having to share her parents.  DIL asked DS how he felt when DS2 came along, and he told her he actually doesn't remember a thing about the time he was an only child.  He said he's never known a time he didn't have his younger brother.  He was 29 months old when he lost his only son status.

Believe me, Patch has had difficulty accepting Lala and has thrown some whoop-dee-do tantrums on account of her.  One day about 5 days after she was born,  he spent the entire day throwing one fit after the other.  Grandma had been able to comfort him until that day.  Then no one, not Daddy, Grandma or even his hero PawPaw could console him.  Only Mommy could bring solace IF she wasn't holding Lala.

We Skyped on Sunday and he was his hammy old self, even when Lala was set beside him.  He wanted to show me her mouth but that was about the only interaction with her.

    They acclimate.

GD2 has a name now - it is Hollie.  They were wavering between that and Vivian.  GD1 met her this morning and was not a happy camper at all.  These things take time and patience.  I reminded my DS how unhappy he was about DD's arrival - not just that she arrived at all, but that she arrived on HIS birthday, ruining his He-Man party.

ducky - I too was not pleased when my cherished Sister arrived home form the hospital.  I was 2-1/2 years old and thought she was a real nuisance.  I used to sit under the kitchen table while my Mom was feeding her and bite her feet!.  She would start crying like crazy and I would just pretend I did not know WHAT was going on.  When my parents would go out in the evening, I would tell her that she was adopted from the Salvation Army and her name was Toni Pee Hole!  Boy, she also got quite kooky about hearing that (her name is Toni).  It took me YEARS to appreciate her and now as an adult she is one of the important people in my life.  You grand babies will get thru this too and I hope it is very soon for everyone's sake.  Peace!

    Welcome back Granny...

Joan was last seen in a pool with a beautiful little girl :)

I got to see a video of my new GD tonight - she just squeaks :)  Then I skyped with GD1 who was sucking her thumb with great vigor - she is with a nanny.  Here's the good news - they called me and asked me to come for ten days on the 18th...ok, trying to be cool, not show how excited I am but HOT DAMN!  I get to see the girls soon.  God, I am such a sap.

Chris - can you tell us about your recruiter visit?

(((Deb, Sheila, Linda, Valjean, Ducky, Sandy and oh gosh, who did I forget today)))  So tired from being up all night waiting for Miss Hollie to arrive :)

Such a beautiful little one, Diane, congrats to the entire family! Not to pat myself on my back, but being a Grandma is what I do best & I'm sure the same goes for you!

Aw, Chris........ and CB .......... what strong, resilient women you are to have gone through so much & be here now having gone through this damn bc crap. Special hugs to you.

My right hand is so numb right now, hate this awful carpal tunnel. Keep having to drop my hand & then continue. Back to wearing the splint again, only took off 5 days of not wearing it & I can't stand it anymore! The gift that keeps on giving.....

Hey, K, guess who's winking at me???????

Sandy, hope tomorrow goes well. Thinking of you.

Getting my house cat-proofed. My DD#1 & family are dropping him off here on their way to Disney World for 11 days. They are so excited & counting the days.........I am not excited & counting the days. We don't have pets & don't care to. We used to have three dogs, so been there-done that. I was hoping they'd find someone to stop by their house & feed him & tend to the litter box, but no...........so, I'm elected. I love my DD so I will do this for her..........

Linda, Hot Damn is right!! Yay for your upcoming visit!! What fun!

    Hi ducky!! Hey there, Meecie!

((Sheila)) I look forward to the pictures as well.

Okay, I have tried to figure this out & I give up!

What does ~~ BBL ~~ stand for?? I must have missed this along the way.

    Bunches & Bunches of Love??

    Hi Sheila,

Westchester County huh?  I worked for 14 years for Balducci's which used to be the Hay Day Country Farm Market in Scarsdale.  Spent lots of time in your neck of the woods and in the CT. suburbs and NYC.  Was their nuttritionist and food safety director.  Miss those days and the FOOD!  OMG, they made me into a bigger food snob than I ever was.  100% Italian here so food is my life.  Luckily I am tall and can handle the weight gain!

Congratulations, Diane.  And so glad you've been invited to visit/help.

Wow - cm - you've been through so much.  This is why I feel bad complaining about my stuff. Compared to some, my "D"H is a saint...  I shouldn't be complaining.  Maybe I'm the one who shouldn't be married - too insecure.  I need someone who is willing to communicate so I know what's what.  But then again, they can communicate all I want - I won't know if they are lying...  paranoid much?  I would piece together as much as I could to see if the words and actions seem to be in line and then maybe I could feel more secure that things might actually be the way they seem...but my "D"H "isn't comfortable talking about things..."

The recruiter didn't say he wouldn't be able to find a job for me.  He seemed to indicate that if I was interested in just a job - there was a company across the hall I might be able to work for...  I will have to think about that.  It would be better if I could get a very low level job related to my field just to get something on my resume while I try to figure out what I should do to to more.  He might be able to find me something.  But I do need income.  Unfortunately, I really need something a monkey could do so that I don't have to feel bad that I'm not doing a good job.  I need some success in my life.  Something that I haven't f'd up.

Well - work from 9-1 today...dread going in.  Once I'm there, I might be okay - as long as there aren't too many problems...  Got the schedule for the next 3 weeks...I have more hours.  I don't want more hours - they gave me more, realizing that I haven't really had any opportunity to do the things they want me to do - can't learn how to do it if you don't do it... duh.  They know this, yet still expect me to jump right in and be up to speed.  I kind of want to tell them they should phase me out while they find someone else to take my spot(unless they can get rid of me right away).  I wanted to try to stick it out, but I don't want to waste any more of their time or mine.  Now I'm at the point where I feel like I'm getting a headache as I get ready for work each day...not good.  I don't want to feel this way for the next 3 weeks (or more.)  this sucks.  I just want to go back to sleep.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

I've been working in the yard, something I just didn't have the ambition to do.  Rototilled my garden, planted tomatoes and basil.  Bought and planted some flowers, cleaned his dresser draws and will start organizing mine. I have room nowCry  One day at a time.

I am at the anger stage of greif I think, asking and yelling at him, why didn't he let us help him.  I attended my 2nd Al-anon meeting, DD and I had some crying for us.
