    Hi Ladies,

PS appointment went great!  Much better this time..  Mike even liked him.  So I am thinking about having TE put in in Aug and then he said fills every two to three weeks and we will keep going until I am happy with the size.  I was a 34 DD before and I actually like being flat so I won't be going too large.  I knew the exchange surgery was an outpatient, but so is the placement of the TE's.

Nihahi- You were so right, my head was in a much better place this time, plus he really was much nicer this time.  One of my Best Friends just had Squamous cell removed from her back yesterday..  Darn that stuff..

Lifie - BEAR! That would scare the heck out of me!

Edi- I am right here with you, I feel much better physically but mentally I am having a harder time now then when I was going through Chemo.  I really think it's because we knew we were killing anything that might be lurking, now we are on our own.  Makes me crazy that I even have negative feelings at all.

Caitlin- Like I said so jealous! We were watching on TV, Mike has been there but not during the Race..  So happy for Tony Kanaan!! he so deserved to win.  I am more a Nascar fan but in my house I better like it all..  and I mean all Football, Baseball, Hockey, Golf, Racing ect..  Which I do but football has my heart. Gee I must be married to a coach...  Oh and so far so good on Tamoxifen..  Hope it helps with my low hormone receptors...

    Iceburg- Thinking of you..

Alive- I hated my drains I had 3 two on the left and one on the right.  I was lucky I only had them for 7 days..  That is the one thing I dread about reconstruction drains again!

    Wirdgirl and Delvsey welcome.

Maria- Hope you are doing well!

Benny- It was so so so nice to hear from you!  I think about you everyday, you started this group and we miss you! You are a strong woman and you will be just fine!

Websister- Any news on the MRI?

    Traii- Surgery date yet?

Luvmy, Dakota have a great day!!

    Anyone else on Tamoxifen????

    Love you all,

    Carla

Carla....you might not have drains for the recon...Dakota might know.

Dakota....there is not enough Raid in the world for that "insect".

Edi, Carla.....those feelings are sooooo normal, but they get fewer and farther between. The main thing to remember is now, things aren't being done "to you", so now you get to be in charge. And it's harder to be the "doer" than the "receiver"!!!!! Live a healthy and balanced life, physically and emotionally.....life goes on. You didn't "cause" your bc, but you can totally build a better life for yourself post-treatment!

OK.....I've got to get moving today..catch up with everyone later on.

Carlads- I did not have drains after the exchange !!!!! I was happy to get the saline and TE's they were not horrible but I am happier with the silicone softness. I am headed back in July for nipples ! What a journey.

Gosh Nihahi and Traii - housework is so not my thing either but we need to paint all the inside (and outside for that matter but NOT my job). So it's clean out shovel out. I am a (yes I'll admit it) a newpaper hoarder. So I've been going thru piles, sending bunch to recycle but I cannnot not read the obits, living, even business. Now old sports goes right out and headlines get only cursory glance.

Ladies I'll take your cold weather. I don't think my newpapers did this because I sorted them on Tuesday, think it's our rainy weather. Will not go barefoot and this is why. Sitting on couch and just leaned foot over a little and crunch. I though oh darn I've brought in a rock on my sneakers again. NOOO - nice big scorpion but he was well crunched. Made DH pick him up. I will do ones that I smack with flyswatter but not ones imbedded in the tile.

We are getting greener. Some are starting to bale hay but the big round bales. Feed store says they have many weeds; I said send them to goaties. Getting ready to place ad for boys for new homes. Got to go; that would be 5 down.

Edi - I hope you are feeling better today. I have times when I just have to have a good cry. Thankfully I have long days when DH is out of house. I think it is these AIs. I did not have any trouble with menopause but then that was pre BC. I also believe that the emotional release of tears is good so long as you, me, anyone is able to pick back up with life again. Sorry no bingo, know that's a good fun outing for you. Love pic of ED and GD. My DD is actually coming on Sat. She is such a loner but we aren't much better. She spent the 3 day holiday holed up in her apt. playing online computer game. She even called yest. but was for advice. Has eye that x3 has reddened, watered, little drainage. Took herself to MinuteClinic and NP said nothing she could treat. She has a PC doc and due to get lab work done tomorrow. Has OK insurance but one of those high deduc. health savings plans. I don't really understand those but at 26 catastrophic ins is prob. best even though she does take thyroid meds and has it monitored reg. I wish she would have gone to see her PC though NP said would send report to her. Her work doesn't seem to care if she comes in with reddened eye, always the same. DD says she thinks she had pinkeye as a kid (I don't remember). Asked her to get name of opthal. while she's in office tom. so she can check her provider list.

Alive - Hope post surg. is treating you well. Thinking of you and hope drains are out of there soon.

Wirdgirl - welcome here to this crazee bunch.

Delvzy - welcome to you. Hope you get some assit. from Traii. She's a wealth of experience. WINK - WINK.

Iceburg - hope your surgery is done and all is well. Good healing vibes to you. Be the queen and let the family wait on you. Let us know how you are.

Movie - since it's 1 am or so over there is today bathing day???? Sounds like you have been super busy. I love sashimi. Love most Japanese/Chinese food.

Bear, cougar scat. Holy you-know-what. I'ms with Nihahi. Would have to change me drawers straight away. We have raccoon and prob. deer. Know they are there but they don't bother anything of mine. They did eat peaches off the ground but no peaches this year. Freeze got them. Only a few plums. No roses which I know are a delicacy to them. Actually I'm surprised Liefie. Aren't there lots of plants for them to choose from? Now in a really bad drought year would be different. Statistically we are but not by looking outside. Lakes/stock tanks still wayyyy down. We would need a soaker hurricane to fill those.

Drat - I need to read the tutorial. Have some new goatie pics but can't post and we don't have an outside host. I know DH did avatar without using outside host; she was one of my fav. goaties - Nellie. So he's off to outside and I'm going to find that tutorial.

    TTYL. Sorry for the novel.

Dakota, I've found the reason why your dog bit that little girl. He was emotional and upset about your BMX, that's all it could be - LOL. Kids going with cockroach - at least you will have 3 weeks of me time, right?

Carla, glad you're happy with PS. It is important that you can trust him. After all, your boobs are in his hands - LOL.

Luvmy, enjoyed your novel. You can write another one any time. Scorpion - oooooooh scary!!!! I grew up with those things in South Africa; they are nasty. We may have bears and cougars here on Van Island, but fortunately no poisonous insects or snakes. We have many harmless garter snakes around, and I always save their lives when DH wants to exterminate them. For him a snake is a snake is a snake who has to die on sight. Back in S.A. I once killed a snake with a broomstick in my family room. My kids were little, there was nobody else who could help me, and I did not want that thing to disappear into the house not knowing where it went . . . adrenalin is a wonderful thing indeed! Another time my two-year old son and me found ourselves in the swimming pool with a six foot long brown snake. We almost walked on the water that day getting out - lol.

Deer -  there is indeed lots for them to choose from, but they love roses and hostas like we love chocolate, I guess. We spray everything with a stinky spray. It deters them, but it rains so much that it is a bit of a useless exercise at the moment.

Dear Alive, good to hear from you! Hope you have that pain under control? For me the pain waking up from MX was wa-a-a-a-y worse than the pain after DIEP the other day. It was excruciating, and they knocked me out with Dilaudid for ten hours. Understandable - they've just cut off your breasts. So once you have the pain controlled, you're good to go. Did you get expanders? You sleep and rest a lot, and you will be fine in no time! Big hugs!

Carla - I am on Tamoxifen and its not fun...hot flashes, interrupted sleep, weight gain, difficult concentrating and forgetful...to be fair some of those may be the aging process...haha. I try not to dwell on what ails me though because of obvious reasons why I am taking it to begin with. I am 2 1/2 years out from my DX so I have a ways to go. I know there are meds that can help deal with some of this but more meds I dont want or need. I know some women have horrific SEs from the drug so I am blessed mine arent so severe. I have a friend who stopped taking it because she developed a blood clot...very rare but happened and has just passed her 5 year mark. Diane

HOLY CRAP LIEFIE..... We have got to set some groundrules here like I did with sbelizabeth on the Diep thread. No legless reptile talk, ever, never, nada, nip it!!!!! I almost threw the laptop across the room as I was reading your message about the s----s. I have such a huge phobia about them....still quivering!!!!

Alive...so sorry to hear about the pain...do drugs, you get no medals for toughing it out.....and it gets better.

Alive - drugs are good. Remember to take your stool softeners. Sneaks up on you.

Edi - (((HUGS))) for you though I did sneak a peak at your profile and know you were on here today. Love from across the pond.

I'm okay with snakes, for some weird reason. And spiders, don't mind those either. But worms...YIKES! I remember when that movie Snakes On A Plane came out and all my friends were beyond distraught. Didn't bother me. Now, if it was WORMS On A Plane, that would be HORRIBLE!

Will explain the John Denver-loving pigeon tomorrow. Just popped in for a minute to see how everyone was. I am so tired as I started my exercise program today Surprised

Edi, didn't see you on FB today either. Please know you're missed and loved ((((((Edi)))))

Okay, must go to bed, even tho' it's only 9:33. I do love living in the moment. I just had a warm shower, put on my big thick fluffy terry towel robe, and heading to bed with Benny. Life is good, at this very moment.

    See you all tomorrow <3

Movie, how was the hot springs?

OK...WHAT DON'T YOU PEOPLE GET ABOUT THE "S" WORD Sealed Cry Surprised !

Benny......best words you've written to us in many many months "Life is good..." Enjoy the feeling!

fyi....I was on tamoxifen years ago, never really noticed significant se's after the first 6 months. Instant menopause wasn't easy street, but wasn't horrific either. Each person reacts differently to it.

Top o' the morning to you all! Hope all my Warrior Sisters are doing great today!

Alive - hang in there, it does get better very quickly, take the pain meds and sleep for a few days. We are all in your pockets till you get the path results.

Carla - I've been on the tamoxifen for a week now and haven't noticed any SEs at all, fingers crossed it keeps on that way!

Would someone please tell me when does the "rads exhaustion" ease up?? I cannot stay awake!

Had a little setback in my healing process, starting to wonder if this will ever end. Long story short, am on some new meds for pain & stiffness and am being sent to PT next week. More pain in store for me there I'm sure, but if it helps in the long run I can tough it out.

And yes I went out "topless" yesterday and even though I felt very self-conscious, nobody looked at me too funny or called me "sir". LOL! I've never had short hair in my life - it kinda tickles when the wind ruffles the part that sticks up on top. Funny.

    Hugs to you all!!

Nihahi, I'm beaming over to England with you to see where Edi is. And Movie - what happened to her? Can't have my coffee yet. A friend is coming over, and she loves coffee, so I have to wait till 10.30 for my daily fix. Then another friend is coming for lunch. Will make a quick pea soup with frozen peas, and throw in some bacon for flavour. Tonight we've been invited to a friend's birthday barbecue.

Dakota, I'm so impressed that I diagnosed your Dakota's problem that I'm going to put an ad in the paper for my psychological services for dogs - LOL. By the way, my name 'liefie' here is the name of my previous beloved cat that was killed by my neighbour's dog.

Benny, you and Diamond are so cute! So wonderful to see your real personality bubbling to the surface now, and that life is good once again.

Jennie, sorry to hear about pain/stiffness issues, but PT will help that. Rads fatique - it takes its own time, and cannot be hurried along. Just sleep if off, sister, that's the only way. Take naps, go to bed earlier - eventually your body will catch up. Yay for topless! Feels good, doesn't it?

Traii, aren't children just fascinated by all the creepy crauly creatures on this earth? Everything becomes new again through their eyes - so adorable.

Jojo, now you've given me an idea - sucking coffee through a choc cookie? Can well believe that it can be addictive - lol.

See you all later - have a good day!

Popping in to say hi to all.

Benny - enjoyed the picture of you and Diamond and enjoyed your post.

Jennie - still finding fatigue hits me like a brick wall some days. My doctor says there is nothing like chemo/rads fatigue and it can continue for quite some time. I try to pace myself but I do find it very frustrating not to just be able to go back and pick up my previous activity levels.

Nihahi - I guess we live in a pretty good location to avoid those s----s. I'm also glad of it. But I did have a worm hospital when I was about 5, unfortunately I left all my patients out in the sunshine and their condition rapidly deteriorated. I was devastated at the time.

Liefie - didn't like reading about the evidence of bears, you take care. Agree re: cougars, we have had some trouble with them in the Banff area lately.

Traii - after we all go over to cheer up Edi and make sure she is OK, we're headed there to get things moving for your surgery date

Luvmygoats - enjoyed reading your post, never too long - good to hear from you

Dakota - feast or famine re: patients, eh? Today should go quickly for you.

Alive - sending gentle hugs. I remember waking up in the recovery room and the incredible pain, mine was mostly in the arm where they removed the lymph nodes. Rest up, take the painkillers and then something to ensure the painkillers don't cause the big C, you don't need that.

Maria - how are you doing

Movie - did they arrest you? ;)

    Take care everyone
