Hello ladies,
How is everyone?
I have been i'm busy sitting my sisters grandkids the last couple days. They are 3 and 7, I forgot how tiring it is. I going to need some rest after this for sure.
I tried to get caught up with everyone but got overwhelmed. Can't miss a few days on here and stay up to date.
I hope everyone is fairing well.
love to you all
-
Maria...sheesh...babysitting..tons of fun but very energy sapping! You're a trouper for sure. Get some rest for yourself now, ok!
Jennie...sorry to hear things have gone somewhat sideways for you. It takes the body time to truly recover from what we have to get through. Physio should help, though, so I'm glad to hear you've got that sorted out.
Alive...how's things going???? Between the snotgrass and the whoop ass....nothing's gonna beat you!!!!!!
Websister and Benny.....I'm starting to think this weather is going to be our summer! Just think....June is actually our rainy month..don't know if I can stay sane!!!!!
Traii...did you go ahead and plan another holiday?? Go for it!
Dakota...here comes the weekend! yippee!!!!
Movie...not sure when you're flying back, but I bet it takes you some time to get caught up in the "rest" department. BUT...everyone wants to hear the onsen stories!!!!!
Edi...sweetie....we love you....please feel the vibes coming your way. ((((((((X)))))))))
And of course, to everyone else...love and hugs. Have a great night.

Hi girls just popped in to say g'day . Had a friend and her hubby over for dinner tonight lit a beautiful fire red wine green curry and the darn cat jumped through the cat door with a mouse and dropped it proudly at our feet while we were eating ! Lol the look of horror on their faces was priceless.

Hi everyone.....feel so guilty that I have not been on here for ages ...I will not try to respond to everyone....missed so much but I just want you to know that I read, laugh and cry with your posts. You are all in my thoughts and prayers daily. Only four more weeks
to school ends....yay💃 -
hahahahahah......Delvzy.....cat and mouse story trumps bear scat!!!!!! Too funny!!!!
Hi Scottie..hang in there, the last school bell of the year is near. Are you returning next year, or is this the FINAL bell for you?
Woke up this morning and OMG....not raining, blue skie
s........friggin 4 degrees!!!!! But I'm getting out there as soon as I finish my coffee!!!!! Forecast for tomorrow......rain......(sob, sob)
(((((x))))) -
Nihahi....I'm going back next year because I love it and it keeps what's left of my brain
alive....so maybe one more year till the final bell....lol -
Scottiee, always good to hear from you! Oh, that last school bell of the year - I never knew who were the most excited to hear it, me or my students . . .lol.
Nihahi, the bear has now been seen in the neighbourhood. It was up a tree, and when he saw the people, he started coming down, and did not look particularly scared or concerned?! Not good, so no walking alone, and carrying bearspray for sure.
Delvzy, my cat caught a big mouse yesterday, and dropped it outside in front of the door, fortunately. Funny how they always seem to bring the catch home. Day before she brought a bird. Do they want our approval or what? LOL.
Websister, hope you are having a great weekend!
-
Liefie, I don't really have ROM issues in my opinion. I am short in stature and my arms are short, too. When in PT, I did one of those ROM exercises lying on my back with arms at 90 degree angle out to the side, knees to chest, rotate hips and move knees side to side trying to touch the bed. Ask any mechanical engineer, you need a longer length torso and legs to make THAT happen!
-
Wirdgirl, good to hear you have no ROM issues. It is not a good feeling if you are limited as to movement. I hope I'll be able to regain full ROM, but will just have to be patient.
You have yourself a nice weekend!
-
Movie....get out of the damn hot pool and give us the details!!!!!!

-
Leifie she kept meowing till we noticed look mum and dad what I've got
-
Just a quick check-in on Edi. See she has not posted. BUT I checked her profile and she was on 2 hours ago. Hopefully by the time I get home from SS/Church she will have checked in.
Has anyone sent her a PM? But at least we know she's checking the postings.
-
This is gonna be THE week Traii that you get the date.....surely, there has to be someone who will get this sorted for you???? I'd be contacting someone every single day at this point, if it was me.
Alive, Maria thinking of you....
Caitlin....when did you say your rads start????
Websister....raining again so no playing in the garden today. How's that back pain????
The sutures on my cheek are itching so badly I'm tempted to take them out myself, but I'm trying to wait until Tuesday. I know it means it's healing, but I expect to come home with a new batch, so don't really see the point of being annoyed for 2 more days!
Luvmy....boy, I wish the weather in tornado alley would settle down. Hope things don't ramp up in your neighborhood again!
Movie....not sure when you are flying back from your adventures....catch up on your sleep, and let us know about all the incredible experiences you had. We are gathering in your pockets to hear the stories!
-
Beautiful, glorious day here this morning after dreary week of rain. No clouds, just sunshine - yayy!!! Today I'll be walking, bear or no bear. Been shut in long enough - lol. Somebody just landed here in front of us on the lake in a teeny tiny yellow floatplane, and taxied up to one of the neighbours, visiting for the day, I guess. Will be many boats out today - I'm cautiously optimistic that summer's here to stay at last. It is June already . . .
Hope everybody's well. Will check in later to see if Movie's been released - lol.
-
Hi Girls, I am here and ok just not up to posting right now, thanks for caring.
Love to you ALL xx
-
Liefie.....could you please send some of that sunshine here???? PUUULLLLLEEEEEZZZZE!!!!!!
Edi...(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((X))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
-
We all love you Edi!!!
-
Yes, Edi, you are loved and missed but take time for yourself and just know that you're surrounded by love from us all.
Ugh, it is pouring rain here and I don't know how much more I can take. It's been going on for days and days. It really does have an effect on my mood. It's bad enough that Calgary had 8 months of winter, but now this. They're saying it's going to rain all June, then we get July, might get some nice weather MaYbE, then we're into fall again. AND.... I did not win the lottery so I can't move. Woe is me! Nihahi and Websister, we should all go to West Edmonton Mall's water park and sit under the heat lamps!
Went to see Diamond yesterday and she was a soggy b-i-t-c-h. ~sigh~ Pardon my language but. Rescue pigeon is driving me around the bend. He flaps if he can't listen to John Denver. I put Neil Young on this afternoon and now there's feathers and seeds all over the place because he had a little tantrum.
~sigh~ I think I'm going to make a cup of tea and go through my stack of 4,758 horse magazines.
-
Nihahi im sure this is the week too. I called on Friday but nothing! She was emailing the surgey dept for me!! Fingers crossed. Its a long weekend here monday next week. Queens birthday long weekend. My cousins daughters baptism on sunday that i now will end up going to no doubt surgery wont be this week!
Edi..cyber mummy you take all the time in thr world to heal, get in touch with your emotions and anything you need to do. We are all here for u and love you.
Liefie...ok so you have bears and now planes landing in the lake...my son would really love your place. I will send him over for a play!!
Monday here. Weekend weather was miserable. After all we did hit the first day of winter. I cant believe it will be 10 months since i was dx...where has the time gone ( oh yeh hang on....appts...chemo...appts...chemo....waiting.........)! Lol
take care lovely ladies need to keep this short...amon phone and thumbs gone numb damn neuropathy ;( -
So sorry to hear it's still raining in Calgary. My kids live there - maybe I should tell them to start thinking about buying a canoe if this weather is going to continue as Benny predicted - lol. Benny, I hope those long range forecasts are dead wrong! In the meantime on my side of the Rockies the sun is shining, no wind, warm and lovely. But we've had a long, rainy winter, so it's time. I even did some planting in pots earlier, nothing strenuous, Nihahi -lol - just too nice to be inside. Thought I could help water the hanging baskets, but DH thought not a good idea to be pulling the hose around the house.
At church this morning one lady brought me a delicious Dutch almond 'boterkoek' (butter cake) as a gift, and another brought me a curry pasta salad. Felt so humbled, and almost a little guilty, because I honestly don't feel like a patient any more. They are in such awe of this surgery, and think I am so brave/courageous . . . which I don't feel at all. Doing chemo took much more courage. If you are in this situation, you just do what you have to to survive, as the women on this thread know only too well. For me this was just the last step to complete the long trek that started with my diagnosis that fateful Monday, 6 days before Christmas 2011. Anyway, our single friend is coming over for a barbecue later, and now we don't have to do much, thanks to those lovely ladies.
Benny, that bird is a downright weird to say the least. Does he have a favorite John Denver song, or does he just like all his songs?
Nihahi, careful with those sutures, eh? I hope that dermatologist does not slice you up too much. I have never been checked by a dermatologist. Maybe it will be a good idea.
Edi, BIG HUGS!!!!
Traii, send that little boy over any time. I have to practise, because I may eventually become a grandma. My children are really slow - lol.
-
Hi everyone
Sending more hugs your way Edi (((((((()))))))))
Traii - the squeaky wheel - sounds like you might be making progress, I hope so
Benny - your West Edmonton Mall comment made me smile - great idea! The three of us can sail there after Nihahi's appointment on Tuesday, or maybe we can borrow the float plane from the person visiting Liefie's lake
Nihahi - wondering if those stitches are still intact with not being able to go outside to distract yourself?
Re: back pain - the Herceptin on Thursday hasn't helped that situation unfortunately and it does get discouraging sometimes, weather doesn't help with that. I did get out yesterday morning and plant the front flower bed with lots of help from my DH.
Greetings to everyone else, take care everyone -
Bellies-had to take time to catch up on posts, and now am sleepy after trying (and failing) to stay awake most of the day......
Made the mistake of posting on DIEP board first, and now M so sleepy can't stay awake....promise to post tomorrow......love you all........
Namaste and god bless-Jackie -
Hi Movie, so glad to hear from you! Sleep well!
-
Hi ladies !!!
Busy weekend for me. Mowed the lawn got the pool cover off, had lacrosse, soccer, baseball and hockey.... Sooooooo tired ! Need a day off from weekend activities !!!
Edi - hugs !!!!
Hope everyone has a great day !!! -
Gotta make this quick, as I'm on the clock this morning.
Dakota.....a typical weekend for you.....no wonder you go nuts on slow work days!
Pool cover...hmpf......I'm standing on my balcony waiting for Liefie's float plane to swing by and rescue us. Yep...still raining!!!!!!
Movie....sleep well, we missed you, can't wait to hear the adventures...Do cut and paste cause we want the same stories you'll likely be posting on our diep thread...and your fingers will wear out!
Alive....(((((X))))
Traii.....hoping for this week....I mean, come on!!!!
Edi, Benny, Websister,,,,,EVERYONE!!!!! LOVE AND HUGS
Off to my first gentle yoga class since surgery....meant to go last week, but "chickened" out, to be honest. I reserved my spot yesterday on line, as I'm too "Scottish" to pay for a class and then not show up. I've been doing some at home, so I know I'll be fine, it's just another step forward........?right?
-
Nihahi, Websister, Benny, the floatplane is on its way to you. It is a big one, because my kids will be on it too - LOL. It just sucks that you have such duck weather, and I know that sinking feeling only too well after a long winter when you are soooo looking forward to sunshine and some warmth, and it just does not happen. We had that last year.
Nihahi, do you have a gym nearby where you can go punish the treadmill? That should help with the frustration, and that's what I do here in winter - so good for my mood. So you're back at yoga? Give me hope that I will be able to do the same at 8 weeks out. I love gentle yoga. Let us know how it went. By the way, my ROM is improving in leaps and bounds by itself. So happy about that.
Movie, hope you had a wonderful sleep, and that you won't be plagued by jetlag too much.
-
We are a quiet bunch today not like us at all !!!! Raining here too !!!
-
Back from yoga and all body parts are still attached and pointing in the correct direction!!! Soooo glad I went, another hurdle of recovery conquered, and another step towards normal. (yes.....I DO have a degree of normal, well normal for me
!)Liefie....please tell me I didn't miss the plane!!!!!! It's actually supposed to start clearing up a bit this week, with rain returning on Friday.....what is my ONLY AVAILABLE DAY TO HIKE????......FRIDAY!!!!!! Son of a *****! At this point, I figure I've got enough raingear.....I'm tempted to try it, but then I remember, it's easier to come up on a bear in the rain....you can't hear/see as well, they can't smell you as well.....crap! Good to hear about your ROM!!!! I think for most, it does come back without too much effort....my issue has been compromised by my pre-existing crappy shoulder. I do have a small gym in our condo, which I do use, but it's that mountain air that I crave!!!!!
Websister...stitches still intact...didn't feel the need to scratch them once during class, so maybe I've gotten used to them...figures, eh!
Dakota....are you trolling for patients again????
Time for some food...Love to all
-
Haha I did have two no shows today !!!
-
Wow, but it is quiet here today!
Hope the rain is dissipating for the Calgarians? Today I got my Vit. D the natural way for a change, and not by taking pills - lol.
I think DH has decided that I'm well now. He brought home a box of strawberries today, and I'm going to cook jam tomorrow. Have never cooked strawberry jam, only apricot jam, so will be experimenting. Will be a slow process with lots of sitting down, but I have the whole day to do it - lol. Not going to wear myself out, no way. That jam will go so well with freshly baked scones . . . and whipped cream . . . yum.
