Thanks so much everybody for all the well wishes and encouragement. In Victoria now, will scrub myself down with that surgical sponge, and then sleep. One more body scrub tomorrow morning, and I'll be good to go. Feel good - just want it over. Not going to worry about minor things now. See you on the other side!

Happy to hear you had good results Traii. Surely that surgery date is not far away!

Praying for good results for you too Websister.

Sending you my warmest wishes tonight, Liefie. Hoping any pain you have is manageable and that you are on the road to recovery.

So relieved to be done with chemo, but feeling very tired. I'd like to think that will translate into a rare good sleep tonight. Was a bit of a mix up re: radiation, whereby the RO I had seen back in February no longer works at the center where I'n being treated - so the simplest thing seemed to be to switch to one who does work there. That may not be settled yet - need somebody who will pay complete attention to my case, including missing pectoral muscle and potentially altered chest wall anatomy, given that I had my left breast removed - close to heart. I see the new RO on may 29th.

    Hugs to everybody!

So, I was just diagnosed today, I really don't know what to ask or what to say, I'm not even sure how to use this message board, hope i am doing it right.  I only know that I have IDC, I am a very positive person and I am handling things well but there are just so many unknowns.  I have been reading these message boards the last few days while waiting for my results.  Everyone has been so comforting.  I have been staying so strong for my family, it is a relief to be able to really express how I feel, here where you all understand.  Well I don't know what else to say, I will post as I get more info.  I have an appointment with a surgeon on Tuesday, so we will see.  Thanks everyone for being here.  Though I am sorry you have to be here too.

Phew...techie daughter sorted things out for me.

Iceburg89...so sorry that you have the reason to look for us, but very glad that you found us. You don't have to do anything but be yourself, let it out, ask the questions, we are here to help, and CAN UNDERSTAND what you are going through. As you get more info from your doctors, you will find you have more questions. Hope we can help.

Websister.....beautiful bones..such a lovely compliment. Clean scans all around would be great, but then.....what is causing all the pain???

Caitlin...sheesh....hope your RO gets sorted out quickly, and with the best result for you. Rest now, you're a veteran of chemo.....Great pocket party, by the way!

Welcome, Iceburg. So sorry you have to be here, but you'll find breastcancer.org (and this discussion in particular) a tremendous source of support as you navigate through these difficult and scary waters.

As Nihahi says, this is a place where you can vent when you need to and ask whatever questions you have. I was diagnosed on Nov 30th, 2012 and lurked in the shadows, just reading, before I felt comfortable joining the discussion in early January. Just do whatever you need to do, at your own pace.

I think most of us will tell you that the stage where you are now is in many ways the most difficult. I know I was filled with anxiety, waiting for results, going through what seemed like endless additional testing and a few twists and turns along the way, before finally settling on a treatment plan. Just know that it does get better, once a plan is in place, and you will get through it.

I just had my last chemo treatment today and still have a fairly long road ahead of me (radiation, hormone therapy). Every case is different, but it helps to have an opportunity to talk to others who understand what you're facing, whether they've been through it previously or are just embarking on "the journey" now. The ladies on this board played a large part in giving me the strength to make it this far, and we are all more than willing to help you in any way we can too.

    Sending warmest hugs to you.

Iceberg- welcome to you. We all know that feeling you had when you heard those words you have bc, but you are not alone in this. These ladies are in the boat with you and we are all getting to shore.

As we are a bit ahead of you ask away what ever you want we are here to help.

Caitlin- I love your hat it's sassy woo hoo your done. Way to go, nice job, congrats.

    Traii- yea for your results

Alive- I'm so glad the antibiotics have kicked in and your feeling better.

Websister- did you feel me break dancing, oh wait that was breaking a hip hehe.

Liefie- praying for you tonight, May you heal quickly

Nihai- man that cake was delicious

    Love to you all

iceburg... First of all, big ((hugs))!

This is indeed a place none of us wanted to join, but I assure you, you will find these wonderful women some of THE best when it comes to support and, hopefully find answers to questions you may have in the coming days.

I am still fairly new to my diagnosis, April 22, and I am so thrilled to have these ladies here for me as I trudge forward into the unknown as well.

Vent as needed, ask away anything, and take a breath. But take each day as a blessing to be surrounded by those of us who are, and will be here for you!

Again, welcome, and hugs to you! :)

Iceburg, Welcome to the place no one wants to be, but I tell you what, this is the best place to vent, laugh, cry and meet new people that are and have been exactly where you are now...in that 'limbo' stage of the 'unknown'.

Once you meet with your onc on Tuesday and you get more information and work out a treatment plan you will start feeling a lot more better and a little less anxious.  This board has helped me out from my diagnosis and these girls have been with me throughout treatment. I was diagnosed in August and started treatment end of Oct 2012 and completed treatment March 2013, currently waiting for a BMX ( Bilateral Masectomy)

You will find these girls so helpful and full of wisdom and knowledge. We've laughed, cried, vented, ranted, chanted and yes, we are all a little crazy, but in a good way of course Wink If you have any questions for us please do post. This board is a 24/7 around the clock board we have girls from Canada, USA and UK and of course me from the land downunder Australia Smile  Wishing you all the best for Tuesday.

Thanks Dakota , yep still need that date...so over waiting now so just plodding along! lol. Enjoy your day tomorrow with your daughter and her friend, i'm sure you're going to luv it !! (who knows probably more than them.) maybe meet a 'potential' on the way...lol

Websister, so good that you had good 'pictures' taken. Prayers for you that they are pictures of smiling bones all healthy and strong x

Nihahi, when I type on my phone you can all tell, its short and sweet....lol. Hope that lap top gets fixed soon so you can put up pics of our meadow!!

    Liefie, thinking of you x

Edi, oh my gosh, has someone stolen your notebook? DH didn't sit on it did he? , or he has taken it from you so you can finish off renovations now that you are 'done' with treatment? or did you win that jackpot at bingo and now you are out galavanting spending all your winnings?.....hmmmm making cakes ? well whatever it is you are doing, hope you are being a good girl Wink

Movie, you are having too many busy days lately.....well I guess you will be relaxing in Japan soon enough !!

Alive / Maria, you girls are sounding great. I'm so happy for you both.Laughing

Caitlin, I'm loving the avatar, you gorgeous girl. Kiss So happy you have now finished chemo and ready to rock. Glad you have your mum over to help out over the next couple of yuck days.....hoping minimal SEs for you x

Well I had a great relaxing day. DS was off at kindy, DH had the day off so went grocery shopping , never again....he is a pain in the butt, like a little kid ( i'm hungry, I'm tired, are you finished yet!!) MY time DH MY time...go sit in the car if you are tired!! arghhh MEN! Undecided

DS has his first birthday party to go to tomorrow, a boy at his kinder class, should be fun !! ( Dakota, I'll swap with you, you can go to a 4 year old party and I'll take the girls to their concert, whos in concert ??)

guess you can tell I'm not on my phone tonight....lol....

Love you chickadees.....enjoy your day, its night night time for me soon I think.....xx

Iceberg - adding my welcome, the others have said it all so well

Nihahi - lol, great pictures was the word I got but I do kind of like your interpretation of beautiful bones. If results show nothing unusual then I guess if pain doesn't resolve we go to something like pelvic ultrasound and look at ovaries.

Traii - too bad DH had day off, sometimes we just need our me time. First birthday party invite for DS - so special

Dakota - enjoyed your comment re: good pictures. Have a good weekend with your children. Bet it will be busy.

Movie - you must have so much to do before you go. Can't wait for your stories from Japan

Edi - I remember you saying you were getting a new laptop. Everything working on it yet?

Caitlin - hope you had a good night and wishing you a good day today

Hi to everyone else, we have a long weekend here with Monday a holiday. I'm going to take my Mom her wash and visit with her this afternoon, otherwise going to try to slowly get some yard work done.

Iceburg - welcome, big hugs, yes it sucks but you have found the most amazing group of women who will support you, pray for you, laugh and cry with you, and be in your pockets every step of the way. I wish I had found this place before my surgery, better late than never! They have all been awesome. We need someone to talk to that gets it, to get through this thing. One thing I wish I had been told at the beginning - don't let anyone rush you or pressure you into any quick decisions. There really is no rush, take enough time to research your options and feel at peace with your choices.

Liefie - we are all with you in spirit, hope you are feeling great today & will be back home very soon!

Caitlin - sounds like you know exactly what things to ask the new RO, you will rock this too I'm sure! My MX was the left also, and they removed some of the chest muscle too (to get clean margins) and my RO had me hold my breath during the rads and it worked perfectly, he said the heart was completely out of the field. So don't be afraid, but ask about the breath-holding thing if they don't mention it.

One week post rads and I feel great! Just one little spot still red, the rest has faded back to pink, really all quite do-able. Feel free as a bird without that long drive every day!

Benny - we love & miss you, hope all is well and get that computer fixed soon so you can check in & tell us you are good.

Everyone else - hope all have a wonderful day with no SEs, no bad weather, no cockroaches! LOL! :-)

It wouldn't connect to wireless so she went on and sorted it for us, he was twittering on all the way through the call then roars at me as to what the password etc was ?? Turns out he had done them. Did I get an apology did I sxxt.
