I think the only scandel that is going to come out of Benghazi is how the GOP further buried their hopes for ever winning an national election again.
What a waste of taxpayer dollars - paying these GOP Congressman to basically politic all day long.

Talk about not being the brightest cookie in the jar...no surprises.
Dear Secretary Lew:
Recent revelations about the Internal Revenue Service’s selective and deliberate targeting of conservative organizations are outrageous and seriously concerning. This years-long abuse of government power is an assault on the free speech rights of all Americans. This direct assault on our Constitution further justifies the American people’s distrust in government and its ability to properly implement our laws.
The American people deserve answers about how such seemingly unconstitutional and potentially criminal behavior could occur, and who else was aware of it throughout the Administration. It is imperative that you, your predecessor, and other past and present high-ranking officials at the Department of Treasury and IRS immediately testify before Congress.
The public expects your complete cooperation with both congressional investigations and potential criminal inquiries. If investigations reveal that bureaucrats or political appointees engaged in unconstitutional or criminal targeting of conservative taxpayers, they must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. At a bare minimum, those involved with this deeply offensive use of government power have committed a violation of the public trust that has already had a profoundly chilling effect on free speech. Such behavior cannot be excused with a simple apology.
Furthermore, it is clear the IRS cannot operate with even a shred of the American people’s confidence under the current leadership. Therefore, I strongly urge that you and President Obama demand the IRS Commissioner’s resignation, effectively immediately. No government agency that has behaved in such a manner can possibly instill any faith and respect from the American public.
Sincerely,
Marco Rubio
In his demand for the IRS Commissioner’s resignation, Marco Rubio neglected to notice that the IRS does not have a commissioner after the resignation of Douglas H. Shulman last November. The nomination process for a replacement is now so brutal that nominees are held up for months, if not years. And the cause of this situation, the actions of the Senate Republicans, such as Marco Rubio.
After creating the situation whereby there is nobody in the IRS Commissioner position, now Senator Rubio is demanding to yell at… the empty chair. And not just an empty chair, a chair which is empty due to Republican obstructionism.
The Republicans have sought to destroy the United States, and that one of their own would demand the resignation of a commissioner which already retired months ago, who will likely not be replaced for months, if not years, based on the years of refusing to, you know, govern. The Republicans have failed in their elected duty, instead of governing, offering up their own plans, they’ve become the party of no.
No ideas.
No future.
No hope.
Now, Senator Rubio, and the other Republicans, have hung their future on a policy of nothing. They are now finding that the seeds they have sewn are coming up weeds. They can no longer even complain when there are actions taken against their support network, because there is nothing to complain to. No commissioner to grill, or force to resign, and Senator Rubio looks like the fool he is.

Less government is not necessarily the answer -- wiser government is the answer.

Good morning, so lovely to awake to your beautiful pictures, Blue.
Good news - my docs were right. When I finished my 5 1/2 years on Arimidex ( note the 1/2, yeah, I was still trying, kinda like when we were 4 years old, the 1/2 was important
) when they said it would take about 3 months to feel a difference. Yup. It's a little more than 3 months, and I DO FEEL BETTER. More energy, a general feeling of well being, and as if a 100 lb weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Notice the difference most when I wake up, and it's easier getting out of bed. Now, psychological/emotional, well, it's that lyric from the Eagles Hotel California:"You can check out, but you can never leave."Still, feel good knowing I did ALL I could do, and keep hoping it was enough. A giggle, no more excuses about not exercising.
Thinking of E - and her big testings. Athena, starting another day to find what's gonna work - also less "pain in the neck" and still think LEWING needs to just see a doc - and be GOOD to her lungs. Nothing to do with bc, just need to be GOOD TO OUR LUNGS so there is the least possible long term damage to them. Not "nagging" "noodging"
- go to a doc! -
What Sun said.

I hope this will paste in correctly....it is just an interesting little article that I found floating around as part of something I get in my in-box daily.....milestone material.
In their hurry to get ahead in the Space Race, the Soviets also suffered setbacks, along the way helping the U.S. to learn what not to do. The USSR was the first to launch a space station of any kind, called the Salyut 1, but flaws in the docking mechanism prevented the first attempt at its boarding. A later second attempt went better, but the capsule carrying the crew back exploded in the atmosphere during re-entry. The U.S. waited a little longer to get their station up, but they preferred to do it right the first time.
On this day, May 14, in 1973 the Skylab space station launched into space. Eleven days later it made a successful rendezvous with the its first inhabitants, a three-man crew that would stay at the station for four weeks.
Skylab’s fourth-generation successor, the Skylab 4 became the site of the first, and possibly only mutiny in space. The group of astronauts aboard were loading up the station with thousands of instruments and supply packages, a task at the same time tedious and tiring. The hours were long, and ground control complained they were falling behind, while the astronauts complained they were working too hard. Finally, the crew on board had enough and declared an unauthorized day off for themselves. They reportedly spent it relaxing and enjoying the views of earth.

Oh, Jackie = thank you for posting Rubio's letter to Lew. THAT is amazing - too frightening to laugh, but too sad to cry - you are SO correct about nomination process - deliberate blocking of ALL movement - and not governing. The polarization is paralyzing the country - and used as another paranoid ATTACK on the President of the United States. Tragic, for all of us.
As I get older, I am finding myself less and less "invloved" with these national, global issues - and taking more & more pleasure in my painting, in my garden, sure it's a factor of age, facing a serious illness, and living "Think gobally, and act locally." Also noticing I'm really only interested, now, in "talking to the choir."
"Never try to teach a frog to sing." Still giggle when I think of that, I was in DC, lobbying for an international group working to assist women in poverty, and was "trying" to speak with a notoriously difficult Senator. There were several women in the meeting, and the woman next to me "whispered" the wisdom, when she saw how upset I was getting. STILL remember, and appreciate the wisdom more than ever. It doesn't mean giving up, it means being more strategic in doing the work.
Love what I learn in this thread, saves me reading a lot of stuff I don't like to read in other places

Spangled Scooter Gangsta Gang out in force for Our E, and Athena, Chickadee, Glenna, and all facing difficult days...toot, toot, toot...also jingle, jingle, jingle, ( I have a bicycle bell on my scooter too!) HUGS.
-
How does that saying go? "Never try to teach a frog to sing; it's a waste of your time and annoys the hell out of the frog" or something like that!
I wish I'd adhered to that saying when I was still working; probably would have prevented a lot of stress-induced cortisol from entering my bloodstream and upsetting the cells in my left boob. Oh well.....
Now then, someone please tell me why some media types are getting their knickers in a twist over the legally subpoenaed tapped phone lines in AP Headquarters to discover a national security leak?
Hugs going out to Craze-E for her scans today, and to Athena for learning to live (stoically!) with mets while maintaining her sense of humour and self!
-
cfc.....cuz they like the way twisted knickers feel?????

-
Bwhahahahahahha, Sun! That's gotta be it!
-
Well, this explains it! No wonder the IRS was taking special note -- not that the IRS did anything OTHER than take special note......otherwise, there WOULD be a scandal, wouldn't there?

-
The media seems to think that anything they do is OK and should not be challenged, I guess. I don't understand why Eric Holder would have stepped away as a possible conflict of interest, though. Can someone explain that to me?

So,so happy with onc visit this am. Last infusion was hell on wheels for almost 3 weeks. I asked for a chemo break so I can cruise in three weeks without feeling sickly.
She agreed, no infusion today, I'll just continue Xeloda until the week after I'm back, mid June and we'll reduce the dose on the evil Ixempra.
I was prepared to throw a full on tantrum! Though I kind of knew she'd agree on this one.
My labs were surprisingly boring. Almost completely normal readings. Yea HOO, -
Chicky, what great news!! Happy cruisin'!

As Spock would say, FASCINATING!
