Here's what cheezed me off today

What do you say to someone who knows you've had cancer and says "Wow, you've lost weight!" I'm not often speechless, but that one got me!
-
Just say, yes, I'm the poster child for healthy eating.
-
Brrrrr! Hope everyone's staying warm.
-
Where is everybody? Hope you're out doing something fun and nobody is cheesing you off.
-
Rohanna, we are here, we are here... just a small speck on someone's flower :-). No real cheeze, but no real fun either :-(. It seems the beginning of each year just tends to be sort of dull. How are you? Is your body recovering? My body feels a bit beaten down lately. I've started to exercise again as all of a sudden I had a weight gain and body change. Truly disappointing as I haven't changed my eating habits or done anything different. No Al's either, so it must have to do with chemopause/menopause. I miss my estrogen! I need something exciting... good exciting to happen these days.
-
" A person's a person, no matter how small." Good to hear from you. I know about a slow start. It's too darn cold to do anything. I'm doing ok. About the time I heal, it'll be time for my reversal surgery.
I could use a little good excitement too. Ever since Hugh Jackman got that restraining order, I have a lot of time on my hands! Just kidding!
-
AAARRGGH! Went to the drugstore this morning and the make-up lady saw my BC pin. She said, "Oh, do you have breast cancer?" I said I'm a survivor so far and she proceeded to tell me all about her HEMMOROIDS! She said she knew all about pain! Before I knew it, I said, "Are you kidding me?" She just kept nattering on about her butt! I just turned around and walked out and she was still talking about her 'roids as I reached the parking lot! Sheesh! Can you believe some people?
-
Maybe my ol' Cracker Barrel friend (cough, cough) moved to your neck of the woods :-). Perhaps you could have handed her a box of Tucks and told her she could use it on both her ass and her mouth since they were both full of shit :-).
-
Rocky- lol
Here's my cheese for the day- my aunt, god bless her, stayed with us in our 'marathon' room above our garage after my surgery on Wednesday to help out. It's a pretty big room- about 700-800 square feet. We asked her, since the room is a 'zone' in itself for heating and air conditioning where she would like for us to set it, we set it, per her request at 72 and said, please, if its not right, we will fix it so please leave it be....of course, she didn't...running 24/7 at 80 degrees with an open window...it's been in the teens and 20s here. The tv and wii were left on the whole time ( wtf she doesn't even know how to use the wii) and she trashed 2 crystal glasses and a good shun knife..... -
What a fantastic comeback - I'm going to have to start carrying Tucks around in my purse now....
-
rohanna
Best reply comes with a smile and " Thank you so much for noticing!"
-
Rocky-I LOVE IT! Bought that box of Tucks today for the next time I see her. Best line I've heard on the Real Housewives, "Is your ass jealous of the shit that comes out of your mouth?" I may just use that next time on your CRACKer Barrel friend. Emphasis on the CRACK in every sense of the word. And sorry, Purple, after the last 2 years I've had and the idiots I've run into, no more Mr. Nice Guy. Some people need to be reminded how stupid they are and I'm not Dr. Phil! If I can't make myself walk away, I'm using Rocky's line.
Merlcat, I used to have that problem with my MIL until I used almost a whole roll of duct tape to cover the thermostat. I told her that sparks had been flying out of it (which it had) and we hadn't gotten it fixed. She doesn't visit much anymore, says it's too cold in my house. Just the way I like it! Cold and MIL-free!
Whoo, I guess I'm pretty cheezed off today! Maybe I'll grab my Tuck's and roll out to Walgreen's. Get the bail money ready!
-
OH RO, I can feel them sparks, GO BANTI, BRWKKK. Talked with a friend of 30+ years yesterday. Told her about new BF being 8 years younger. She says "OH your a cougar" Not in the joking funny way--she was serious. I'm going to dump her in the BONFIRE. Must admit inside I was growling.
Tucks, what a cool way to say someones an asshole. May be carrying preparetion H and handing it to someone with the remark "I think you need this" and walking away. This could be the start of some new thoughts.
-
I get cheezed when I look back and notice I have typos in a post!
Here is the real cheeze for the week... after having trigger finger on my thumb and ring finger since November, I finally made a doctor's appointment. I thought they would heal on their own like other things typically do for me (cancer as an exception). Well, not only did they not heal, but the pain is so bad I can barely pick my nose without my thumb hurting. I've got one more week before I can get in, but man this really hurts. I'm blaming all these weird things on chemo! I never had a single physical thing wrong with me until the cancer dx. Now after all is said and done it seems every time I turn around it's something else.
-
Rockym, If you're on an AI, trigger finger is a known SE.
-
Sas, I think the Preparation H couldn't even shut up some a#@holes. You're a cougar? If so, you go girl! Tell her to mind her own jealous business, then growl at her! Never mess with a Banti! Bwaaaaak!
Rocky, can you get one of those paraffin machines? Those things really help with hand pain. I agree that it could be a SE. Hell, what isn't? Praying you get some relief! Don't worry about the typos, just keep us posted. And I hope your driving finger (yeah, the 3rd one) is working and on display for anyone who cheezes the Rock!
-
Purple, after the last 2 years I've had and the idiots I've run into, no more Mr. Nice Guy. Some people need to be reminded how stupid they are and I'm not Dr. Phil! If I can't make myself walk away, I'm using Rocky's line.
Hey, I'm with you !
-
I want the energy to be cheezed!
-
Happy Valentine's Day to all the Battling Banties!
Rocky, close your eyes, I'm sending you energy vibes! And no cheezes!
-
Thanks rohanna! I hate when things are dull... nothing bad happening, but nothing real exciting either. I'm in that "going through the motions" kind of past couple of months. Hope everyone is having a nice V.D. with very little B.S. and everything else O.K. :-)

I am so glad this thread is still alive. Started reading and thought it was really great comedy writing about things that are not funny. Makes it so much easier to deal with cow patties served as cookies.
I am only halfway through reading past posts; it is great entertainment but woke up feeling really pissy so decided to rant even though I know I will regret it.
Maybe it is just me but I get really tired of the "i am going to die" posts from people who haven't even scheduled an appointment. They post/whine and then disappear. Only once have I seen a response that said 'get a grip'. I think fear is valid when you are looking at a path report that confirms cancer.
Next in line are the sorority sisters who post. My first post was critiqued by someone who had 4000+ posts and didn't even have the SE she was commenting on. This was really demoralizing. I decided to locate friendlier threads and she did it again! Apple talked about being stalked by someone who eventually gave up. If I tell this person to bite me, will the moderators kick me off?
I have realized morons get BC too and they seem to be in marches and support groups in a higher concentration than I expected or...that aggressiveness SE listed for my chemo is real and I need to be sedated.
That is probably it...need to give my DH a safari hat and tranquilizer gun. -
Hello? Just want to say that while I don't post much this is my favorite thread. You are all so funny! Anyway, it's been very quiet here and hopefully that's because there hasn't been enough cheese to go around. So... I will share some.
I am cheezed because of a new local recurrence. Well, maybe not that exactly. Cheezed about having to get my interweb medical degree updated to include recovery from surgery, lymphedema prevention, physical therapy, new chemo, new SEs, etc. And there are a lot, LOT of etcs.
All within 6 months of finishing treatment. Poop. Reading for pleasure, what's that!??
Ahhhhh, thank you. I feel better now.

Phyllis, I am way cheezed for you! I can only say what a effed up situation. Wait... I can say something else... I can't imagine how you're feeling, but come here anytime and feel free to tell us who and what is pissing you off. We are always here for you.

Rocky,on kindle, brief. The three drugs of dis cussion caused both thumb joints to be bad. Kindles suck at typing. It has a vocabulAry and if it does not recognize a word it chooses something close. Hi guys sheila
-
Sheila, not sure what you are taking about. I don't have a Kindle either :-). BTW, I went to the doc a few weeks back and he did a cortisone shot into the base of my thumb and ring finger. No more locking or trigger crap!! I can't believe I waited so many months to take care of that pain. Since I don't take any horome blocking drugs the fingers couldn't have been from that, but perhaps chemo's lingering effects.
Hope everyone is doing well. I've been laying low these days so it doesn't give anyone a chance to cheeze me off.
-
Rocky, saw your post from awhile back re: trigger fingers. I have thumb and great toe joint problems that appear to be permanent from AI's. But symptoms have lessened, so, not a huge issue. All the bone, joint, and muscle pain has reduced since getting off Ai's. Gave all three drugs a chance. QOL was more important, so, only have three years on AI's. Now back to old pain that's from post polio, not a big deal b/c I learned to live with it years ago. When on AI's I remember wishing for my old pain. Duh, that's wierd isn't it-- I'm happy.
Couldn't type on kindle, so message was screwy. The kindle has an automatic spellchecker with built in vocabualary. If it doesn't recognize a word, it picks a word. Duh, so gave up. Anywho, very glad your trigger fingers feel better.
Haven't seen Ro in awhile is she okay?

Haven't posted in this forum before, but you ladies have made me belly laugh numerous times. I now feel the need to vent. After waiting for a year after rads I finally decided I was ready for my reconstruction. It is scheduled for Monday. Yesterday I get a letter from my insurance company stating they need more information from the doctor to determine if my surgery was 'medically necessary'! I called them to explain that because it was reconstructive surgery after mastectomy they were required by federal law to cover it. I was then told that they have to 'prove you had a mastectomy'. My issue with this is that I have been with this insurance company for almost 24 years!!! They PAID for my mastectomy, and the chemo, and the rads. I was then told that they were just following protocol. I was so mad I had to get off the phone before I called the representative (who had been extremely rude during the entire call) a lot of very bad words!
Thanks for the opportunity to get that off my chest with some folks who will understand
-
Sherry- how frustrating! I probably would have offered to send him a photo of my chest and told him to match it with my bills. But then, I'm old and cancer makes me cranky.
I hope they resolve it quickly for you!
Phyllis -
phyllis--that was my husband's suggestion exactly!
-
sherrybaby, Maybe they would prefer a Skype conversation where they can see eye to eye... or maybe eye to chest ;-). What a bunch of a-holes to make you stressed when you have more important things to deal with!
