Today I had to get two chest X-rays to see if the pneumonia is gone. I did a little shopping. I came home and fell asleep for two hours. It's been cloudy and raining all day.
Hugs -
Everyone, try to have a good sleep - I went to the dentist today - cleaning and other stuff.. jaw and teeth hurt - to pain meds.. between that and my balloon boob it is going to be an interesting night...

GmaFoley, Did your seroma fill again?

I failed my midterm pediatric exam....still in shock. I got my Masters in Nursing and also in Public Health 32 years ago, worked for 31 years, then was laid off last August due to budget cuts ( NOT because I was at the top of my pay grade?). I had training as a Nurse Practitioner, but wanted to go back to school to be able to work as a Hospice NP.
Last fall I went back to school for two semesters, got straight A's last semester, failing now. Had "DCIS-not really BC" diagnosed a week before school started in January. So much S**T keeps happening, wish it would stop. I become a year older this Friday - maybe it will be a turning point.
I want to meet you, Granny. I just have a funny feeling that it would be a comfort to be near you. I hope your surgery went well and that you are recovering nicely. Hello to everyone - even though I haven't been a member for very long - coming here to visit gives me strength.
I'm irritated, because I have handled everything soooo well, I can't believe I failed my midterm exam.
-
Oh shellshine - I remembered a couple of years ago when I failed my precalc class - I was devistated and couldn't take a specific GIS class until I passed. Not a good feeling at all. HUGS
Ptdreamer, I was thinking that myself - we wil see if I follow all my LE stuff - MLD, compression - see if it changes - it hurts were the drain scar is - but that was way back in November when they too out the seroma.. I really don't want to deal with that again - the killer is - the only good surgeon in town - the word is he is going to retire - I don't trust anyone else
.. not sure what I will do if that is the case.
Ok what will be the good morning pic of the day? How about bucky resting on the grass down the hill (Oct 2011) you should see his antlers now!
-
SHELLSHINE, I don't guess you can re-take it, if it's one of these area tests where people come from all over? Could you speak to one of your teachers to please guide you in (a) what you seemed to come short on without revealing "test secrets," and (b) if you can take a test again for the certification soon? But sometimes these things take time. It's a wonder you were able to take the test at all, right? All of us are a little less than we were before, but that doesn't mean we can't FINALLY make it where we're going.
FUZZOLA, I love you, I love you mine owne true sister.
FOLEY, that fog pic next-to-last I think here, looked JUST LIKE a lake. I care about you and your pics. I think you could sell at set of four rather large ones for $200, bring a portfolio of some smaller ones to a craft store or even art gallery and see will they tuck you in somewhere.
LOVE TO ALL YOU GIRLS. I have a big day. Won't bore with details. I'll try to come back ASAP. Always, Gail
P.S. Is it psychotic to have little "visions"? Did I not tell Fuzzy here on this thread that something was coming straight at her and to arrange or a couple weeks of complete rest? Did I not talk about a black & white rabbit for Dunes, but it wound up in MY driveway? Whatssup with that? Dunes, they ARE hard to see, perfect camoflage for a cat. One more thing, I totally lost it over the last six months, according to husband, whom I love but not as much anymore becuz he is so angry all the time, says I talk too much, but it's a nervous thing, so today my doc appointment is with my psych and she will fix the drug that was doing it, believe it or not it was my tranquilizer, the one INNOCENT drug I thought I was taking; guess it takes the absolute CORRECT one to use. Ohhhhhhh, I have to go & so much more.
-
Talked to my Professor today, she advised me to withdraw from all 11 course credits, she's concerned that I have been under too much pressure, retake them over the summer and pay another $3,300 tuition. Well, we'll have to see - I think I can still pass the courses. Taking the next few days off to chill and decide what to. NO STUDYING - taking a break.

I called the Pulmonary and Sleep Specialist office today to see what the hold up was - they can't get me in until August! - I'm truthfully, not sure if I should wait that long. When I was talking to them, they made me feel like I should go elsewhere.. The closest place is 1.5 hours away and have no clue which doc is a good one. My PCP said he would give me a referral up to Eugene - The only thing good in Eugene is Olive Garden..
-
Today, I thought I would share a little part of me - hope that is ok - you will understand once you see both the pictures.
EDIT: BTW - her mommy is my ex-DIL, she has found out she has cervical cancer and opted to try to save her cervix.. after 3 surgeries the she now has clean margins.. it has made us bond again which makes it alot better for my Granddaughter, Allie.

GmaFoley - are you a quilter? That's a beauty!
-
Not much of one. I like doing the tops then put polar fleece on the backs, to avoid batting and tie instead of the quilt stitches.
-
I have not had much time for quilting myself the last couple of years but I love it. I go to a few shows each year to see all the works of art. I want to pull out all my supplies and start working on a quilt to depict my cancer. I think that may be cathartic.
-
This mornings mountain tops..
-
Has anyone heard from our sweet Fuzzy?
Hugs and lots of love (((((Fuzzy))))!!!
-
Gma Foley,
Love your photos and your quilts! I am a novice photographer but haven't had the oomph to get out and shoot since my diagnosis. Thinking about it for tomorrow if the Rhode Island weather isn't too bad.
Best,

Shellshine,
See if your college has an "Incomplete" policy. Sometimes, you can get an incomplete for a course and take only the portions you need to complete the class. For some colleges this means not having to pay for the entire class again. It may be too late for this, but you may be able to work it out with a sympathetic instructor or counselor. I work at a college and I know this has been done at my institution when there is just cause. You cerainly have just cause.

Denise51 I'm a novice too - I just take my litte cannon auto shoot camera and point.. Today I want to show you my mountain from the other side of the valley - it is the distant mountain to the right. Got to get typing for work - see you all later.

I'm WORRIED - My dog, Tigger is 12 years old she is a chinese crested/whippet mix.. She is doing something very strange for her - she won't leave my side to the point I had to make a bed for her at my feet under my computer desk.. The last dog that did that died shortly thereafter (she was 17 years old)... I don't need that to happen right now - just tell me it is a fluke and she just decided to get lovey...
-
Grammie, maybe something hurts her? Or something really frightened her? Sending you and your little "girl" hugs....
-
Grammie - Maybe your dog is worried about something with you.
-
Gma Foley,
I have always been a dog owner - have 3 lab/golden retriever mixes right now. I have had some that developed fears to things that had previously not bothered them at all. Our current eldest, Jake has recently become very sensitive to the sound of the wind. He starts acting strange long before a heavy wind hits and when it does he also becomes attached to my hip.
If it hits during the night he even tries to cozy up behind my pillow. He is larger than normal for one of his mix and weighs about 90 pounds! He never did such things in his younger years.
No photos today for me - only 3 hours of sleep last night. Will try to nap in a little bit.
Hugs for you and the pup.
-
Ladies...
Tired and shaking my Ambien off, or trying to, and reading here or there. Gma....I'm sorry about your pup! I have three dogs, a black lab, a black lab/golden mix, and a German Shepherd. All of them are incredibly astute, and seem to know when something is "off" with me. Maybe she's just feeling "off" today? It happens to them too, especially when they hit their "senior" years. I know my shepherd is 9.5years, and she acts a little whonky here and there. Like she's losing her marbles a bit. Constantly, gets up and moves...even if just a foot away. And, it's not too bad, except she sleeps with me and DH, and does it ALLLLLLLLLL night long. And PLUNKS herself down on the hardwood! Drives me nuts. But she's slept with me every night since a pup, and if I put her outside of my room, or with one of my kids, she'd cry all night. So, I hope for a deep deep sleep.
Hoping she is ok for you!

FOLEY, once again, myself a tad worn slam out, I accidentally deleted whatever I said to you and SHELSHINE. I'll be shorter.
FOLEY, my dog tells me all the time when I need to stop doing something, becuz i get a tad involved in things. So, you can try lots of rest and practice being calm. If you let you dog out by himself at any time, then check where he went last time before this happened, anyhing could have scared him, see how he acts when you check stuff. Gotta go to the vet, don't worry, your pup is just expressing some non-fatal type symptoms, the vets have SO much insight.
SHELLSHINE, to hell with what they're saying. You need the courses to pass, am I not correct? So, keep right on taking them. At the end of those, already have the next test set up with whomever, makes no diff. Their advice of new place to go for whatever is pointless. What has happened is just a blip on the EEG. BUT simply finish out what you're doing, take the test again, end of story EXCEPT, go over everything you can think of, from library, old books, new journals with the latest in your new "specialty," and you do yourself a favor and become just as smart as the teacher, if not smarter, just don't show it. and DOING helps, so immediately get in as a volunteer working WITH the very people whose job you might do at another place. That way, I'm telling you, you is gonna not necessarily Ace the exam (nature of exams or any final, I just plain lose it). PLUS the quests they ask are so RANDOM, nothing about how great you'd be or not! Hate 'em. That's why you should NOT STOP. KEEP GOING. Stick with the courses, quit listening to whomever that lady is, make appointment for next test within a 250-mile radius (one or two hotel nights, get interior halls for quiet), and also get set and arrange to volunteer with folks who will be doing your job, read EVERYTHING even vaguely related to your subject. DO NOT STOP. I am SO proud of you, after all your cancer. This lady may be prejudiced against cancer people, WHO KNOWS? And do all the things I suggested all at once.

I'm feeling so guilty because I took my foster cat back to the shelter this afternoon. It's so he'll get more attention from adopters there. I love that cat and already miss him a lot. If it made sense, I would adopt him because he's such a character. Unfortunately, the entire rest of the family has asthma and there would be no one who could care for him if we couldn't. I wouldn't want him to end up at the shelter when he's 12 instead of 6yrs. But I feel like I've given away my child. I can't stop crying.
-
Ahh... Wren, they become part of the family. I wanted to foster too but was afraid of falling in love with them.
-
I'm baaaaack.
I think Wren's idea of a B&B would have been a far better idea. Luney bins are . . . unpleasant.
It was nice to sleep in my own, comfortable bed last night. It was nice to sleep. The drugs they gave me make me do the thorazine shuffle, but they don't relieve my anxiety or put me to sleep. Instead of the neurontin and trazodone, I took a half a seroquel, 2 OTC sleep pills, and my melatonin. No xanax. Maybe it was that I didn't sleep at all the night before, but I slept great last night.
See ya on the board.

Big Hugs Dunes!

Big hugs back Veggy!
Ya know, I had to leave Peaches in the cage all by himself for the 4 days I was in there. When I got home, he was so excited he was hollering. When I opened the cage, he jumped on my finger and said "Hi Sweetheart!" LOL
-
I'm glad he was okay there by himself. He missed you.
Bigger hugs right back at ya!
-
What did they say to you in looney bin Dunes? Diagnosis of PTSD?
