Thinking Out Loud.....

Sandy...Linda is gonna have a meltdown with OCF soon.......
Port was always a blessing for me......
You're making me hungry......
-
Cute puppy.
I could stand to live alone for the same reason, Ducky... lol
Glad you're not too sore, Ray. Hope you had fun shopping.
Glad you're just busy planning a get together, Deb.
Don't like General Tso (sp) - I usually do sweet and sour chicken or beef lo mein (or greasy spaghetti as I used to refer to it for the kids when they were little)
I'm getting to the point where I am so sick of clutter, everything is clutter unless the space is empty. See what they did to me?!
So it's actually Duck flatulence that has depleted the ozone layer - not bovine flatulence? lol

Hi TOL,
I am not usually around on Wednesday...worked from 8 AM to 9:30 PM then drove home...tired but need to relax and do stuff I want to do (like TOL)...
Ducky, your story about your son helping you is a heart-string tugger...
Chris, love the video of Dd's peudo-room! You never know which way th
ey will lean when they get their own grown-up place (do not judge by dorm room). My DD left clothes covering her floor for years...today she has a top job, is organized, and has a nice home - lived in - lots of 'stuff' around but it looks very livable.
Meece, do you have a hammock?
My hair took 3 hours yesterday...it looks oK but is in shock from the cut.
Gotta go lie down in a few...getting up soon. Friday am going to DD's to take my dear grandkids out to dinner and then i'll stay with them while DD goes out to a fund raiser.
DH brought me dinner at work...I asked for a salad with chicken (i.e. caesar) and he brought a fried chicken cutlet sandwich. I could barely eat it...hope I didn't gain back all I lost with a few nibbles.
Well, too tired to TOL anymore...
Sandy, wishing you well with the scan. Ray, rest up and wishing you a fast recovery.
Hugs to all,
Joan -
thanks all hope you all are ok, been up since 430, although did take a benedryl where i can sleep until at least then.....will call and make the appt, thinking tuesday......
-
Joan, I am sure his heart was in it when he chose your dinner for you. Better him bring you a sandwich when you asked for salad than the other way around. Seems he isn't too concerned with your diet.
No hammock. When we built this house I planted three trees in the backyard each close enough that there could be two hammocks strung up, the middle tree did not make it. Go figure, no trees for hammocks!
I had OCF on Saturday and am already wanting it again! I need to check my ingredients for soup and make some before the weather gets too warm. DH won't eat soup in warm weather.
-
I will get more, this is going to my DIL.....is just looked weird to me and it was too spicy and with the friggin diverticulitis dont need a flare up....so will go to the standard shrimp lo mein when I get it again....
-
I am not into spicy food I like a small amount of spice, but I want to taste the flavor of the food. My tongue easily gets seared with spicey food and then I can't tell what I'm eating.
-
well I still can't smell or taste (3 or 4 years, lost count) so I just feel fire in my mouth, lol
-
Ohhhhhh, that's too bad. I remember my tongue and lips got neuropathy and I couldn't taste or feel during chemo. It bites!
-
Heading out to watch my sons Senior Project. He built a security system fully computerized for his school. I get to see it in action. Not sure I would want him to 'secure' a school. lol
-
Any security should better than none.
-
Wow - impressive, Linda. Sadly, our schools need a lot of security these days. On Tuesday, our high school let out early because of a bomb threat (stink bombs, maybe?) And then Wednesday the elementary school was on lockdown because someone saw a suspicious person and they needed to investigate. They didn't find anyone - they think it was a contractor that someone didn't recognize doing some work... So maybe your son can make a lot of money with his designs...
Hope you get some sleep and some more OCF that doesn't hurt, Sandy. I don't like to eat food that hurts - lol.
Be careful of those caesar salads, Joan. That dressing (and breaded chicken if it's breaded) can have a lot of calories. DD used to get a Caesar wrap at D'Angelo's and I was glad she was being healthy(lettuce, etc) until I saw that it had more than 1000 calories... So maybe you actually ate fewer calories with that chicken sandwich...
It's so sad when trees don't take or die or are damaged by weather... Our back porch has been nicely shaded by several trees for the last several years once they grew tall enough. One got badly damaged with that early snow a couple yrs ago that made much of our state be without power for the better part of a week or more. Not sure it will survive. Before the trees got big enough, when all the windows on the porch were closed up in the summer while we were at work(in case it rained), it got to be 100 degrees - I don't want that again... When it's closed up, it will still get hot, but not that hot. And once it's hot, it doesn't cool off all that much...I thought with all the windows, it would, but it doesn't...
((((((TOL)))))))
-
Thanks Chris, how is mom
Linda that is awesome, very smart child you have there....wish the boys were motivated, they are at counseling right now, thank goodness, peace and quiet till 1:00pm, honestly they have been pretty good since I talked to their "person" and he must have spoken with them, they have been helpful and not rude and if I ask them to do something they have....it is different so no used to it....
Meece, it isn't because of chemo...I went to a ent person and he said that I had a virus and destroyed the nerve endings in my nose and that is what happened, if I want to take zinc for 3 months it might or might not come back, wtf....did do that...just can't smell and taste, and let me tell you losing 2 senses sucks....
Have a good days ladies!!!
-
I had lost most of my sense of smell when I was in my 20s. I had nasal polyps. In my late 20s I had a polypectomy and they removed dozens of polyps. The dr said it was like picking grapes. When I got the packing out I was amazed that certain things had aromas. I can rememebr asking my ex what I was smelling and he said it was orange blossoms. I had never smelled something so wonderful. Then...I found out people had odors of their own. Yuck! I have a dimisnished sense of smell now but I will deal with it for awhile vs surgery again.
-
Wishing for a productive day to all of us
My sense of taste changed after chemo.....I taste it but not 100%........
Good to see you early riser chatters
Having my morning and only coffee
Sun is shining.......
♥
-

Sun was out it is around 42...
gonna try to go out later, older sons computer is dead will check it, don't know what the issue is but none of my kids have a virus scan on their puters, wth....
Made bacon and eggs w/toast for breakfast ate what I could....still nauseous took zofran.....and not really tired but will lay down...scan is scheduled for tuesday...
Oh happy day, lol!!
-
Thinking of you Sandy....hugs......and to all my other ladies too....no mother daughter day today...Nikki started her full-time this week...4 days in the office...1 day home, but that day is also a "work from home day".......oh well ........look at the bright side, less stores to spend money on shit I probably did not need anyway........it was just fun being with her, but I really did buy, just for the sake of buying......well some things I needed....lol.....like 30 rolls of toilet paper......lol, and4 large tubes of toothpaste.....lol......for 1 person.....WHATEVER......
-
He did well. Got a 91. It was an impressive presentation.
Glad the boys are behaving!! You deserve it!
Ceaser salad dressing is the worst!! I love it but it's a no no!! Sorry about the tree damage, that stinks!
Wow Meece! So glad you could smell those things. I hope you continue too.
Just realized I am not on the last page. crap!
-
I'm very happy......because MY MO who wasn't taking my Insurance and i had to see a new one....which the new one is no longer there.........so i had none....
I heard from a friend of mine that uses the same MO.....she said things were changing in the Office.....etc
Today I called just for curiosity and YES YES...as of July 2012 they started accepting my Insurance..I already made an appointment........So very happy
-
Glad you can go back to your Dr Sheila!
Hope the boys keep up being good, Sandy. Sorry you've lost your senses - lol smell and taste, that is.. hope you feel better soon.
Nasal polyps...I wonder how many I have after all these years. I had jaw surgery back in '91. I asked if while the surgeon was in there, if he could fix my sinuses. He did find polyps - didn't say how many. It actually wasn't a good idea to have him do that though because I couldn't really breathe through my wired shut mouth because I had a splint that went across the inside of my mouth between my top and bottom teeth - closing off the roof of my mouth for airflow -didn't know he was going to do that - so I had to breathe through my nose. since he messed with my sinuses, I ended up having trouble breathing through my nose too! It was scary. Of course, I started to cry which made it worse. So he said to take children's liquid decongestant and Afrin to try to open up my nasal passages. A couple days later I found out why I couldn't breathe. At one point, I coughed - luckily I held a papertowel up to my face before I coughed because when I did, the pressure forced a blood clot out my nose into the paper towel. Gross - but I could BREATHE! he had said not to blow my nose - so being an obedient patient, I didn't. Well after that, whenever I got stuffy, I would gently blow my nose to clear it of any more clots. the things you learn...

Rant (pretty much all my posts are rants, aren't they?)
I hate all those security questions you need to remember to log into anything anymore. I just messed up my login (after I had already logged in to pay the mortgage) and it locked me out. So I had to call customer support. I let her have an earful because I was in the middle of making supper and I wanted to log in and was locked out - not convenient at all. And I hate the security questions because you are adding even more personal, identfying information for someone to use to steal your identity by answering questions about things most people would not know about you. Now if you get hacked, the hacker will know obscure things about you. So you don't answer the questions with real answers to prevent that and then YOU can't log into your own account because you don't remember what fake answers you made up for the questions! wtf Grrrrrrrrrr
Now I have to go re-answer more stupid questions after she had to reset all my questions so I could log in again.
-
Awesome Sheila!!!
(((Chris))) You need a glass (whole bottle) of wine with dinner.
-
(((Chris)))

Wow - so much to catch up on. Been dealing with a breast infection which was painful and I have a houseful of painters. How am I supposed to put hot compresses on my breast with all these guys running around? Anyway, got some antibiotics and am feeling better this afternoon.
I hope your mom's move home is going well, Chris. Have the wine that Linda prescribed.
Linda - nice job by your son - he's lucky to have you for a mom.
Deb- what are you so busy doing?
Sheila - you must be getting so excited for the wedding. I remember when your other daughter got married all the effort you put into finding a dress. You better get started
Sandy - I wish you were feeling better. Those boys best be good to you.
Meece - did your polyps come back? I have terrible sinuses but the cat scan showed that they aren't really that bad and no polyps. I smell everything!
Ducky - are you done with those beans? Perhaps you could share a room with Meece and it wouldn't be a problem
Ray - you ok? Did you shop?
Joan - What do you teach? Did you get a dramatically different haircut?
I miss my lovely granddaughter.
-
Linda...Congratulations on your sons accomplishments.....♥
(((Sandy)))....want some ice cream......
-
Diane, stuff your bra with hot compresses. They painters will love that!!
