Thinking Out Loud.....

Weeks ago my heater quit....just 2years old.....my son got someone to come, fixed it and said they would be back to complete what the asshole who put it in did not do...well my son picked up the bill for the fix to get it running......got me a contract to cover the heating and A/C.....he called last nite to say the guy was coming to fix the remaining stuff......nice guy, very thorough.....he gave me the bill when he left and said....I was told this is to be billed to you son, I said no, an .argued, but he walked out........near fainted when I read the bill......$795.00 and my son already gave them $168.00 last visit.....wish I had the asshole who did the original job.....called my son, said " I am paying for this, I can afford it.......his answer, I know you can,and so can I. I said, then 1/2, he said no........I don't like taking from my kids when I have the money. ......he called me tonight and said "everything working ok".........told him yes, and said, thanks for taking care of that for me........his answer was........Mom, I am doing what Daddy asked me to do in our final talk......I Made a promise to take care of you, and I will......I am blessed
-

You know your life is busy when you forget you are having surgery! I hope you aren't too sore after. Keep us posted
Ok - now I have to have Kleenex by the computer for reading Ducky's posts...
God Bless you ladies with 6 kids...I cannot imagine it! My father is one of 5 boys...when my grandmother would tell people she had 5 boys, people would say, "God Bless you."
DD isn't hiding anything. In fact, she is quite open with her mess all over the house... My concern is that she'll end up a hoarder. MIL has a real problem throwing things away - and probably has a problem organizing things too. And DD hasn't been able to clean her room in years. Last time it was clean was in 2007 when I painted it. If she ever demonstrated the ability to organize her stuff and clean, then I wouldn't worry-I would just be annoyed. But I think she has a real problem with organization.
I don't know what to do with myself. Now that Mom is home, I don't need to run to rehab for a good chunk of the day. Though she does have a Dr. appt today. She asked yesterday if I could come. But who knows if today she will remember that she felt that way... so I suppose I should be ready to go if my father calls and asks if I can come. I think he doesn't want me to have to run over there all the time, but as long as I don't have other things I have to do, I can help - especially in the beginning while they get used to how things have changed. (Or while my father gets used to how things have changed - my mother doesn't seem to realize how bad things were before and how they are worse now...I wish someone (Dr.) would tell her - problem is - she probably won't remember...
I'm a little afraid about today's appt. She is going for a follow-up with the urologist. We haven't told her she had bladder cancer (non-invasive - should be fine as long as she has follow-ups to make sure it hasn't returned and if it does, it just needs to be removed.) I wonder if she will freak out. (She freaks out about everthing.) I wonder if she will even remember later in the day. She does remember some things...but depending on what they are, in a few days, she might forget. I imagine this might be upsetting enough for her to remember long term.
(((((TOL))))))

Chris, all I can say is that I am so sorry that you have so much to deal with!
Ladies, I have been doing a survey around the house. I have two twin beds, three couches (and one love seat) an inflatable full size bed, and a camp cot. So nobody needs to be in the green house. Sleeping arrangements will be on a first come first served basis.
Best wishes on your surgery today, Rae.

Beds actually hurt my back - I'll take a couch - or the loveseat if it's getting crowded... Thanks, Meece!
Lol Sheila - not all the pots and pans need to come out - actually they do - they just need to be put away afterward. I just hope that DD ends up like your DD's. I hope her new roommates next year on campus have good living habits and that they rub off on DD. I have taken pictures of DD's room in all its disgusting glory (in case I ever took her to a shrink and wanted him/her to see how bad DD's problem is) and DD knows I've taken these pix. (She said she was tempted to delete them, but knew I'd get mad.) I've threatened to FB message them to the girl she is hoping to room with next year to warn her what she is about to get herself into. But I think there might be the slightest chance that DD will have respect for her roommate (that she apparently doesn't have for me) and won't live like that with her.
Well, I've been eating lately - starting to put back on some of the weight I lost- better get on the elliptical.
Printed out the registration info for the drug test. Need to do it within 48 hrs. I think I'll go tomorrow morning... The thing printed out in tiny print. Stupid computers. I hope the lab people have glasses. I'll have to see if there is a way to tell that it would print out tiny and see if there is a setting I need to change.

DD's room (first 10 seconds of clip):

Good Morning from Sleepless in New York.........
Chris...I'll say this again you need to write a book...you made it sound so funny when actually is not
I know the mess.....I wouldn't call it Hoarders....I used to call it hurricane hit especially after they left for school every day......Yes we have a choice not to touch their stuff...but i couldn't handle walking by their room and see.......
On the other end one of their boy friends when he stayed for dinner...cleaned the table and wanted to do the dishes.....God Bless him
It will pass...maybe it will take until she has her own place......but even that's not a quarantee...but at least you don't see it
God Bless them all......♥
Meece...I actually like sleeping on the couch.....
Ray...Thinking of you....
♥
-
Okay, Chris, one couch is yours. I was thinking you had actually had a clip of her room on there.
-
LINDA....Did you lose TOL again or you're doing something fun like OCF......♥
-
I didn't lose it. Got up early, went to a spinc class, then supermarket. No cleaning. Oh the joy!!!
POURING here, thank God!! No snow!!
How's Mom Chris?
I thought the same thing Meece!
-
I was afraid you'd think it was a video of her room. I wouldn't make you look at that...lol. I'll just leave it up to your imagination and then tell you to multiply it by 100. But her room is a swirling vortex of entropy. I've thought about making a sign for her door that says that.
Isn't it dangerous to go to the supermarket after exercising? I would be starving and buy all sorts of bad things...

Huge pot of homemade vegetable soup on the stove.......every vegetable is in there.....corn, peas, Lima beans, green beans, carrots, onions, cabbage, turnips, potatoes, celery, yellow beans, tomatoes. Shin meat, and barley..and of course a "pot herb, with a red pepper attached........love it, but will give most of it away. Already filled 3 containers for 1of my daughters......she is the one who always invites me for dinner, or sends me a nice container of leftovers......and the child can cook..........feel bad she just told me her husband got laid off today....construction worker....but he is very good, so he won't be out for long.......don't have to go for my little munchkins, since Dad got home early......so here I am.....
-
Awesome soup! I did that this past weekend. Love making.....and eating soup!
-
Sorry about the job - hope SIL finds something even better soon- and that they enjoy your soup. Sounds super healthy.
Speaking of healthy (lol) I just did the elliptical - if you can call it that - had to keep stopping. Did around 45 min and burned only 300 calories...so sad. But it's a start.
