Pretty stunning I would say. I also love the bottom of the first one with the top of the second one.....hmm, great perfection can stand a little re-arranging, can't it??

Nice look on Stacy Keibler (Naeem Khan):

-
COULD NOT take my eyes off Stacy Kiebler........or Halle Berry. Guess I know what I like. Jessica Chastain was no slouch either.
-
Danica is AWesome. A super showing for her. First she gets pole position and then ending up in the 8th spot. To me it looked like the 16 car was blocking her after she dropped to 8 from 3. Oh well that is it from BillyClyde.
Did I see Renee Z and one other actress wearing the same gold dress?
-
Halle Berry always looks gorgeous. Her Versace looks very "art deco."

-
Thank you, Lindasa.

-
WOW, Michelle Obama's dress.........gorgeous!
-
Athena -- Keeping all digits crossed for good news, for you!

No kidding, Belinda! IT'S INAPPROPRIATE! IT'S INAPPROPRIATE! IT'S INAPPROPRIATE I TELLS YA!

I have to say that I actually enjoyed the Oscars last night. Most of the gowns were beautiful. I do miss Cher though. You could always count on her.
We had quite the day yesterday. The family was gathered to move my mom from her retirement home to our own home. We were woken early in the morning and told that she had fallen and was taken to the hospital. After two cat scans, it was determined that her nose and skull were not broken. She has stitches in her lip, a chipped tooth and many shades of black and blue. It was late when we got her settled but I think this will work out well. Oh, and we are also looking over two offers on our farm this weekend.
When it rains, it pours!
-
I should mention that in our socialist medical system we had to pay 18 dollars for parking! (I am shaking my fist towards our parliament right now)

-
Wow - that's way too much for parking PiP! No wonder you are shaking your fist.
Hooray for two offers on the farm - I hope one of them works out for you.
-
Praise, Praise, Praise for courageous First Lady Michelle Obama to step forward and emphasize the IMPORTANCE of the arts in our lives. From her emphasis on the green gardening movement ( with a BOW to Alice Waters on this one too), Let's Move, and all the work she and Dr. Jill Biden do to support the military families who for so long were taken for granted - just PRAISE, PRAISE, gratitude, and deepest appreciation for the Energy, Enthusiasm, Creativity, and Loving Presence First Lady Michelle Obama brings to her work, and our common good. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU - inspiring children, boys AND girls, and all of us to do our best.
-
Pip -- So glad to hear your Mom is okay; falls can have lasting consequences, but itsounds has though she'll recover quite nicely! Sorry about the $18, BUT, would you rather have a nice, round $50K bill to sort out and fight over instead?

Good luck with the offers; hoping one comes at least very close to matching your wishes!
-
Pip - hope your mother mends soon, and good luck on the farm.
$18? It would be $20 or $30 here!
-
-
Pip,
I'm sorry about your mom to but glad that it seems to have come out all right and did not require a hospital stay. Also hope you are able to get one good offering out of the two. If more than one person at a time is offering that would say to me it is a good property and someone REALLY wants it.
So sorry I forgot who put in the picture re: Michelle Obama. Not at all surprised. I can imagine what might be said if she did nothing. Of course, first ladies do sooo much, along with their husbands. They are wonderful compliments, for the most part and I might add.........earn every vacation day they get along with the President.
Sunflowers -- I am with you --- say what you will, we have two fine people in the White House who LEAD despit all obstacles. Some people may not want to accept that leadership, but hopefully they will get over themselves. Wonder how many RAW nerves they might have if they had to actually live two weeks in the life of, and yet these marvelous people just keep doing the good of the country.

Belinda-I loved your picture about the reaction to Michelle Obama. I went on facebook this morning, and the first thing I saw was a friend trying to have a discussion about the Oscars. The predicted "Michelle Obama shouldn't have been there-it was a disgrace" comment was there. I wanted to comment, "President Obama won the election. Get over it!" but I didn't because I didn't want to hijack my friend's Oscar thread.
Athena-good luck on your job this week.

It ain't fittin, it ain't fittin, it just ain't fittin! hahahaha!
Matthew 5:30
And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

The 'job' of First Lady is a volunteer position. They don't get a salary for any of it. Some like Michelle do more than others but I think it would be nice if the country would try being a little grateful for all they do instead of nitpicking at every little thing.
PIP ... hope your Mom is OK and everything move wise and house wise works out well.

Oh and for any of you who might be Star Trek fans? George Takei (Sulu) mentioned that Halle Berry's dress was very Romulan. I have to agree ... maybe that's why I liked it.
-
wabbitt - that was fabulous! Loved them all..thanks

So a movie with Canadian heroes wins the Oscar. What is the world coming to
Here is an interview with the Canadian Ambassador and his wife. They downplay it a lot but what they did was very brave and in that time and place they certainly put their own lives at risk. I propose a toast to our Canadian friends! While I was watching the video I kept thinking ...
James Lipton & Grumpy Cat ... seperated at birth?!
Tried to get pictures in here but big fail. We all know who Grumpy Cat is don't we?
-
But while I was watching the video this kept coming to mind ...
James Lipton & Grumpy Cat ... seperated at birth?

-
Oh gosh yes, Grumpy Cat and Lipton! I do wish he'd shave that ridiculous mustache! (Lipton, not Grumpy Cat, that is
).And thanks Wabbit, for posting that interview. As Ambassador Taylor said "We know that the Americans would do the same for us". Cuz that's what best friends do!

I just wanted to put something here for somebody worried about the cost of Michelle Obama traveling all over the country - you can quit worrying about travel costs for last night:
People you expect to see towards the end of a typical Oscar ceremony: Jack Nicholson. People don't expect to see: First Lady Michelle Obama. Presenting the final award of Sunday's very long Academy Awards -- Best Picture -- three-time Oscar winner Nicholson, 75, introduced the President's wife, 49, appearing via satellite from the White House.
