Good morning, Loungettes! It was raining when I got up 45 minutes ago, now it's snowing like crazy. Gonna be an interesting day.
DorKable--Ah, yes, the clip on alarm does have it's limits and if your Mom is a quick one she can still get up before someone gets there.
Cammy--I can imagine how your sister feels, I don't like to be away from home when I don’t feel good, either. Pjs and robe and not having to talk to anyone is just the way to go for me. I'll be thinking of her, and hoping for good info!
Goldie--Good idea to get rid of the deli stuff. You can also change things over gradually--go to low sodium versions of the stuff you get at the grocery store, mix salt substitute and salt half and half in the salt shaker. Keep the original bottles of things like A1 and transfer the low sodium stuff to the original bottle. I think you can get deli style meats with lower sodium if your grocery store is big enough.

Juliet--Good idea about the cool room and warm bed! During the day we sometimes give patients something to do with their hands--some towels to fold, markers and paper, or a newspaper or magazine. That sometimes helps distract people from trying to get up.

Julie, you really do look great and great info for Cyn on the KSC. If the annual pass is $63, but normal is $50 and $10 for parking, might as well get the annual! Can you give those to someone else to use, or does it have your name or something on it? DH does like to munch on fruit or apple sauce, so that is good. HOWEVER…………it’s not going so well! He was eating something yesterday, I asked him if he wanted to know how much sodium is in it, he said NO. So I said, you might as well not bother with the Shredded Wheat, unless you are liking it then. I guess he thought he could have whatever he wanted, as long as he had that for breakfast. So, we are back to prolly 4000-6000 mg a day. He went back to his old BP meds, which make his feet and ankles swell like crazy, plus doctor gave him diuretic, to help with eliminating fluid/sodium. Has appointment next week with doctor.

NM, thanks for some more advice for DH. We don’t use the salt shaker, and he doesn’t either, pretty good about that. He had some cantaloupe the other day and was going to put salt on it, until I told him how much was in just a ¼ tsp. He opted for none. At this moment, he is online looking for what frozen foods have the lowest sodium!!!! He is actually showing interest, but he also has a lot of stuff here that he won’t just throw away, that is loaded. So once that is all gone………….well, we’ll see. Love your drinking game!!!!

Wow it's good to wake up to u ladies this morning--no snow just sun, but chilly. Well it is winter.
Lori I liked the way u asked how many grapes were eaten--ALL OF THEM naturally.They were nice and sweet.
NM I know u'r used to u'r weather but it is crazy now snow hope u don't get to much--that crazy March is coming up and all bets are off--And I loved u'r DOTD is--I'm LOLing the whole tim I'm reading it and u know all about scary mocies--the only thing that I didn't see was when the girl is running away and she trips that's worth 2 big gilps everytime.
Wow Lori u'r DH really likes salt, on fruit even--Oh this has to be hard on him. This has to be hard on him, let's face it salt gives a lot of flavor so over the yars hhe's addicted and I don't blame him. My one ex-was in his 50's I was in my mid 30's and he put salt on everthing all the time before tasting it even and he didn't hae one thing wrong with him--I told him he was a carrier-Another readon for me to divorce him.
And he's still going strong in his 80's ugh.
I want on one to be in pain today that would be so nice. And DORK has hardly said a word and I know alot's going on and I hope she can let us know soonliest. And KAT if u can take a pic. u have to I'm so anxious to see u'r eyes--I've only seen Michael Jackson do that type and not up close tho. Sot this is excitement for me. Am glad we don't have BP problems...but we both cud reduce sodium intake. We did, tho, give up the processed lunch meats and are now getting it sliced from the deli...and ya kno....it takes sooooo much better. They even have 'low sodium' turkey breast...I can't tell the diff. I jes lub lubs dat dwinking game. I'd bese so dwunk I wudn't git to see 'who dunnit'...LOL
Lori - Hiking Shoes??? WTF are those? j/k Mese tennies jes gonna hab to woik...am sure they will. My dh does put salt on his fruit...apples, oranges, watermelon....yuk. I do like on canteloupe tho. My headache...ick...but it is better. It was actually upper jaw/teeth dat was killing me that migrated to mese head...to point of nauseating me. So ta bed I went 3 ibupro's. 2 hours later took a fioricet...jes had things to do. It worked lots better. Then used the 'ol hydro-peroxide in my mouth...then again b4 I went to bed and again this morning...OMG jaw/teef...feel the world better. Dat some miracle chit fer sure. Ok confusion time for muah---as usual--Sue u had gums and teeth that hurt and it was so bad u got a headach horribly--but what's going on with u'r teeth? Don't u have to go to the dentis or oral surgeon now> u might have in infection and they have to clear that up--very important and I know I have to take an antibiotic before I can even be worked on ??? so u should hae this checked out. To me a toothache is horribleouch but I'm glad it's better--U sound good today and when it's raining it's scary movie time with any drink. Altho I did do a little wor on my bedroom this morning after I heard the BIG VACUUM going--so I vacuumed and dusted and cleaned a little--looks the same to me. I don't know why I have so much pain in my lower rigt quadrant going around my back--I know I must still have my infections, but I guess I thought it would be gone by now.. Well I see the Dr. Friday so maybe I'll need more meds. I'm so tired and I'm not taking my pain meds yet, but I think I'll start today If I didn't know btter I'd think my appendix grew back, but it was checked LOL
My cousin is taking a ride over this afternoon (he just called) so my DD says oh mom u want to clean up-What I've known hime all our lives and I did take a shower and I'm dressed--I'[m not going any further WTF is she thinking then she strted to laugh and put pair of earring on--so now she's ready--what a goof. So I guess if I hve earrings on I'll be dressed.????
So I'll cath up later cuz I have to find earrings. LOL Like I don't have hundreds of pairs.

Lots of shows back on at night too, dat keeps me bizzy. And the darn dish network is NOT carrying teh Fox channel that has AM IDOL....and I watched it all thru last week.....nada dis wk. ORLA--re-acclimating shouldn't take too long, I wouldn't think. And it gives you a built in reason for anything you want to get out of--"I'm still re-acclimating!" ~~Please tell me that person is closely inspecting the art and not getting ready to dip his/her head into the ocean!
Goldie--quitting salt cold turkey isn't easy. Sometimes it goes better to wean off it gradually. If your DH does go cold turkey he needs to stick to it for at least a week before his taste buds will readjust. BP meds plus a diuretic is a common combo for high blood pressure. Hopefully it will work for him. ~~Despite some snow this ayem, it rained away and then the sun came out for a big part of the day today. It was really nice!
Cammy--Yeah, I was reading that and trying to add up the gulps I'd get just from the scenes I remember from scary movies. Gave up/lost count around 50. . .
Mema--sounds like it's time to have the tenders pour out our fav dwinkies and put a scary movie up in the BIG screen TV over the pool. I, for one, want to float in the warm water and gulp and gasp and generally get snookered! ~~what's this trick with peroxide in the mouth? Is this something I need to know about? Is it good for sinus as well as teeth?

De highlite of my day was declining an asshole client for submitting fraudulent documents. He bitched about paying a 415.00 decline fee, I tailed him dat ain't nutting as compared to the price he will pay for trying to commit fraud. Ya see, Dork is FBI trained, dat means Fraud and Background Infestigastation, emphasis on gas. well not really gas, dat was mese farting! De guy has lied to me ober and ober during de mortgage process. I tailed him not to cosign his nasty kids student loan. He did ennyway and I had a feeling he lying so mese pulled new credit. Dat was not enuff to git him but I knew I would. I caught de basturd big big big time. He forged lease agreements and forged letters of intent to vacate for tenants on de duplex he wuz trying to buy. And git dis, my company does not prosecute for fraud but I tailed him he will be hearing from either de authorities or our legal staff. I tink he sitting in a pile of chit in his pants right now. I hate him as he is an obnoixous fn liar and has bin nutting but nasty to de DorK. Paybacks ARE a sunnnofabitch, eh?? Dude SOB was buying de two unit propery and claimed dat he wood be living dere cuz investment properties have higher rates. I got dat SOB real good. I smell de chit in his pants all de way from WI.

Orange that looks like something I would do flying to the moon with me real fart.
I remember when we all used peroxide for a mouthwash 3%-the other was for dyeing hair and it worked wonders pus kept u'r teeth white and it sizzled to tke away infection, the goofy part it still works and now u pay a fortune to whiten u'r teeth and for any infection in u'r mouth.
My cousin was here most of the day lost his job (downsize) he's in his 50's so it's not so easy--He's living in my oldest DD condo so he's not paying her now (it's all right) and we did have alot of laughs anyway--but I fell asleep like 9PM so now I'm awake

Geezer Softball, lol. Deli sliced lunch meat is loaded with sodium too Sue. But of course prolly better than the packaged stuff, and low sodium turkey is good. DH just gets roast beef and bologna. Your tennies will do just fine, but if they are pretty white, mostly likely they won’t be when you leave here. We have that red dirt.

Kathy, I’ve been watching Idol. Nicki and Mariah drive me nuts with all the caressing they do to their hair, drives me nugging futs. And I really thought it was awful how they would laugh at some of the performers, the ones that thought they were good. So disrespectful and mean. And WOWSA, Nicki sure has some ba donkey donk!!! I did mention to DH that I couldn’t do this by myself (business) and that I needed him. We’ll see. He has a ton of stuff here to eat, before he starts again. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink……………..baby steps indeed. Good one on the AWOL! Love it.
NM, thanks again for more advice. If something were to happen to my DH, I think I would just remain single. And I don’t think it’s the salt he is addicted to, it’s just eating. And the stuff he eats is loaded. Floating in the warm pool, watching movies sounds devine.

Well the Big Snow we were warned about ended up being nothing. I don't think we got an inch and Flagstaff was suppose to get over a foot, only got like 4 inches. But it did snow in Phoenix and Tucson!
How about a Salty Dog for our DOTD?
5 oz grapefruit juice
1 1/2 oz gin
1/4 tsp salt
Pour all ingredients over ice cubes in a highball glass. Stir well and serve. (Vodka may be substituted for gin, if preferred.) -
