Every little bit counts! Keep up the great work.....
-
Indeed, every little bit does count. I'm down a total of 2.8 lbs, but it has taken me two weeks to lose that. I will keep plugging along. Congrats to all of you losers :-). That's what my former WW leader used to call us. I don't mind being a loser in that department.
I have therapy for my foot this morning and am hoping that I can get a shoe on this week. I had miscalculated and thought that last week was 8 weeks post surgery. it will be eight weeks this Wednesday! Good grief!
Have a great day all! -
Hey, Rocket, 2.8 lbs is fantastic!!! Hope your therapy is gentle and your foot gets better each day! Tammy, I do love WW, it has been the easiest diet yet. I don' t have insatiable hunger anymore!! Hi and Hugs to everyone here!!!
-
I'm so wanting to exercise more. However, I'm 61, and the 5 previous chemosynthesis have taken their toll. After today, I have 2 more taxol to go. That would mean finishing March 11.
Yesterday I took my grandson to a bookstore and then out. To eat. Just walking around the bookstore I was so short of breath I had to sit down. The onc says I'm anemic (after giving me a lung X-ray to be sure nothing else is going on.
I'm hoping to eat good sources of iron when not nauseous and I'm hoping to start exercising after chemo.
You ladies are an inspiration!
Peggy -
Peggy - I take a tablespoon of molasses (has iron in it) most days to help counteract the dropping hemoglobin - it seems to help. I also eat more red meat than I normally would - that also seems to help - my last hemoglobin was 10.5 - do you know what yours was?
-
Hi, Peggy and Adagio, Welcome, Welcome!! Peggy, be easy on yourself as finish your taxol, I took taxotere for my last four treatments and it does cause fatigue!!! So glad you are here!! Adagio, molasses and red meat, two great tips!!! So glad you are here!!! Wonderful ladies here for support and encouragement!!!!!
-
Welcome all the new ladies..sounds like some of you have some weight loss success...congratulations! I agree even a little loss is a great acccomplishment! I am finally back on track I've lost some of the weight I had put back on. Wishing you all well...Have a great tomorrow!
-
Hi ladies.....its been awhile. Have had some ups and downs. Unfortunately gained some of the weight back that I lost last year, not all of it but enough to feel discouraged. I've got to take those first steps again to get started. The only way to start is to....well, just start! Thats my mission for today....going to go take a walk.
I hope that you are all doing well...looking forward to jumping back in...have a great day everyone!

Hi, ATeamNana, congratulations on your weight loss!!! Hey, we will help each other stay on track!!!
I only lost .4 lbs this week at WW, but I was so glad that I did not gain!!!! I had a little too much fun eating out, this week!! Friends from Pittsburgh were in town!!!
Tenaj and CookieMonster and Rocket, hope you are doing well!!!!! -
Jaytee so great to hear from you!!!!! You have been in my thoughts. Glad your back.....I can use more motivation. This recent surgery & physical limitations is not good for weight loss. I seem to be craving way to much....feeling a bit sorry for myself then cave in to he urge. So.....I'm looking for motivation & just hearing from you has given it to me!
Hi kindergarten,aTeamnana, CookieMonster, Rocket ,Peggy, Tammy & any other ladies maybe lurking around!!! Happy, healthy eating & continued weight loss to you wonderful ladies!!
My son is visiting this weekend so of course my better eating will have to start Monday...
His birthday request was home made manicotti & chicken parm....yummy
Always seems to be another excuse.... -
Tenaj, hey, dear don't be hard on yourself, you have been through alot lately!!!! Every day is a new beginning!!! And you are a fabulous cook, so you have too treat yourself sometimes!!! Eat yummy, and watch the portions!! That is my new mantra, he,he,he!!!!!
Hugs to you all!!!! Oh, and drink alot of water(thanks,Tenaj) and Walk!!!!!! -
Yep we can eat anything we want as long as it's a small amount and we exercise! I had a yummy chocolate gelato dessert yesterday...mmmmm...... Better make it a big walk today!
-
Hi, Tammy!! That dessert sounds so yummy!!!! I love that our exercise gives us more points!!! I hope you enjoyed your walk!!!!
-
Hi Ladies,
I struggled with my eating this past week because we were visiting family and my sister doesn't cook anything low fat or healthy. I did eat out a couple of times and had big salads, but now that we are headed home, it's back to fresh produce and healthy soups. I am also going to dig out my Pilates book and begin my exercise routine tomorrow. I have to start slow as my foot is sill painful, but I can do ab work at least. I can't wait to get back to walking. My foot will only fit into one pair of shoes and they are not suitable for walking any significant distance. Thank all you lovely ladies for the motivation and encouragement! You are awesome, and together we CAN do this! Have a great day all! -
Rocket, Pilates is great exercise. I have been walking and started belly dancing 3 weeks ago with a friend....good exercise for the smile and laugh muscles!
-
Dear Rocket, good to see you!!! There is definitely a huge light at the end of your journey these past few months!!! I should try Pilates, have fun!!! Be easy on your foot and keep healing!! Yes, we can do this all together!! There is so much encouragement and support here!!! Wow, Tammy, belly dancing, you go girl!!! That is awesome!!! Hugs, Kathy
-
Yeah Tammy, we might need pictures! :-) sounds like a great time! Let us know how it goes.
-
Good morning everyone! New day, new week! We are definitely not having a mild winter like last year, but I did bundle up and took a walk on Sat and Sun. It felt good. I had some tendonitis problems in one of my feet during the past year, but a better pair of walking shoes is helping. I had been buying running type shoes because I liked how light they felt, but I dont think they were good for my feet.
Yesterday when I was walking at the track......was thinking about that old saying...Don't let the 'perfect' be the enemy of the 'good'. Going to apply that to my exercising and eating....yes, I got out of the habit of walking everyday, but not going to let that make me feel like a failure...if I can get out there at least 3 days a week..that is something and will be good for me. I will remember how good it felt last year and work back up to it. Good luck to all of you in your exercising...the belly dancing sounds like fun! Any kind of exercise that includes smiles and laughter is a big plus!!!
tenaj.....did you have a good visit with your son? My daughter was home from school for the weekend too..so nice to see her! It is a joy of being a mother to feed our loved ones..sounds like your son had a wonderful birthday dinner!
Off to start the day........have a good one everybody! jaytee
-
Dear Jaytee, It is so good to see you here, wish we could all walk together!!! All walking together would be so much fun!! You are doing great!!! I just came back from doing the elyptical and feel energized !! This will be my third week on Weight Watchers! I really like it and feel it fits my needs, had a heavy lunch yesterday, but then I only ate fruit and veggies for dinner!!
I think belly dancing would be so much fun!! Tammy, let us know how it goes!!
Hope everyone has a great day with drinking lots of water, exercising, and eating responsibly (he,he,he), had to throw that in!!
Hugs to you all!!!!! Kathy -
Hi kindergarten....it would be fun to all walk together! Oh well, if not in person...in spirit! It would be much nicer to walk today in Ca than Ohio. Wish I could snap my fingers and transport! Its pretty chilly this morning but the sun is out. May get a few things done in the house then hopefully it will warm up a little bit for an afternoon walk. Are you doing WW on line or going to meetings in your town? Good luck to you with it!
-
Hello!! Hope everyone is doing well today. Didn't end up walking yesterday...I got in a cleaning mood and just couldn't waste the feeling!
I did get out there today, but had to bundle up pretty good. Went out to get the mail first and decided to come back in and put a pair of old panty hose on under my jeans---glad that I did. It felt good today to take that walk. I also reserved a copy of Zumba from our library----have wanted to try that for the longest time---it looks like fun. I definitely need something like that to do at home.
Take care everyone.........jaytee

Hello ladies, looking forward to getting the all clear to resume exercising. I see the MD next Tuesday. In the mean time I'm resetting my eating. Getting back to healthier choices, drinking more water & green tea.
Have a great evening all.
I'm gonna weigh myself tomorrow....gotta face the truth..... -
Hi, Jaytee, I am not sure where my other post went, but here is another one!! I go to meetings and weigh in every Friday morning!!! I really enjoy the Friday morning leader, Loretta!!! Have fun with Zumba, it is so much fun and a great workout!!! And you walked too, you are great!!!
Tenaj, hoping you are healing and recovering!! Please let us know how your doctor's appt. goes!!!!! I drink more water and green tea because of you, thank you!!!!)
Hi and hugs to everyone here!! My exercise today was physical therapy with weights, walking and watching my granddaughter. I think I am doing OK with eating!! I gave up sweets, chips, fries and fast food(except chick-fil-a) he,he,he for Lent!! Hope I see good results!! -
Good morning!
Well, it was as bad as I thought....up 3.5 lbs in 3 wks. No exercising & bad eating!!!. Need your help ladies....keep me on track :-) -
Dear Tenaj, don't worry, that happens after surgery!! You will get back on track, and feel normal again!! I am sure alot of it is water retention, as soon as you start exercising again, that will disappear!!! We are here for you as you have been here for us!!!! Hugs, Kathy
-
Hi everyone!
tenaj,,,,,you will get back on track....you needed the time to recover from surgery...doctor's orders! Spring is coming and it will bring nicer days to get outside and walk and bike. I was awol from my regular walking for 6 months! We will get back on track together....and see those numbers going in the other direction! Don't be discouraged!
kindergarten...the temp is in the teens this morning! Not sure I will get out there for the walk today, yesterday was in the 30s. I better get started on another cleaning project to keep me busy and out of the kitchen! Just think...when your grand daughter is at the toddling stage...you will get a great workout.....remember those days, chasing your little ones around!
Oh, I wish we had a Chik Fil a in our town...or maybe its good that we don't!
I didn't give up a type of food for Lent this year......I gave up the regular website I usually go to everyday to read news. I am a bit of a news junkie and its very easy to spend way too much time reading on there, especially when I could be out walking or doing something good for myself.
Hope everyone else is having a good day.....be encouraged....make one good decision today in your eating or exercising and that is progress!
-
Thanks kindergarten & Jaytee ! I feel better already :-)
-
Love, love you guys!!! Great, great thread!!!!
-
Checking in this morning...........didn't take a walk yesterday, it was just too cold. I will walk in cool, breezy, chilly, brisk, nippy, blustery, I've even done drizzly (with an umbrella), but I just can't handle bitter or frigid!!
Yesterday afternoon I hit that place where I could just start nibbling...late afternoon, when I am starting to make dinner. I made myself a cup of green tea and got through it! Did have a couple cookies and a cup of coffee after dinner with DH though. But the usual thing would have been to get into some crackers or chips in the afternoon and still have the cookies so I am not going to beat myself up!
Take care everyone!
