Hi My Name Is ...

I'm feeling pretty good. Our school has been struck by the plague, so far I'd managed to avoid it. Yesterday I had a low grade fever, so laid low last night and felt much better today. Hopefully that's all I'll have to deal with.
I'm all recovered from surgery.
We don't currently have any soccer tournaments in the south bay, but if we do, I'll definitely let you know.
I'm also on Weight Watchers, but not following it so well - my own fault. I was down 0.4 lb this week though, so I'm not complaining.
I hope everyone else is doing well, take care!
-
Hi, CookieMonster!! So glad that you are recovered from surgery and that you dodged a bad case of flu!!!!! I attend my first meeting at WW and weigh in since joining!! Hey, we can be WW buddies!!! I definitely have been eating better!!! Have a wonderful weekend!!!!
-
I could use a WW buddy to help me stay on track.
-
I attend the meeting tomorrow!!! I really love this program, and don't know why I did not join sooner!!! I was a member of WW back in the 80's after my second son was born and I lost 30lbs. We were then transferred alot and I could keep my weight off back then. Since having cancer and taking the aromasin, it has been more difficult !!!!! I would love to be your WW buddy!!! Hi, to everyone here!!! Hugs, Kathy
-
Well I lost forty pounds on WW in the 80s too and kept it off until Arimidex. I've gained 20 back, so you all have inspired me to get out my WW materials and I am now following the plan. I want to join the WW buddy group even if I'm not attending meetings. I do weigh myself once a week and will do my best to be faithful to it.
Hopefully I'll do much better when I can start really exercising again. Going to PT this afternoon and dreading it really. She wants to massage my foot. Just the thought of that is painful. Hoping she will be extra gentle. I still have a Frankenfoot.
Thinking of you all today and hope everyone is doing well. -
Hi, Rocket, I just came back from my WW meeting! I lost 3.2 lbs and I am so happy!!! Please let's be WW buddies!!! Food sources of protein for women that eat less meat are: chicken, fish, tofu, soy milk, dried beans and peas, black beans and lentils, nuts, seeds and whole grains, all milk products and eggs!!!!!! Hope you have a great weekend!!! Hi, TENAJ and ATEAMNANA!!!! Hugs to all!!!!
-
Rocket, I sure hope the PT is easy on you!!!!!
-
Kindergarten, congrats on the weight loss. I've known many women who have done well on WW. I've not been one to go & get weighed in front of people. Looks like I should look in to it. Is there a program you can follow without having to go to meetings?
I've been resting on the couch trying not to eat too much. Of course that has been a challenge. My DH has been taking great care of me & has spoiled me with a few of my favorite treats. I won't be able to exercise for a few weeks, I go for my first post op check up Tuesday.
Have a great weekend all.
Rocket, hope your feeling better :-) -
Hello fellow WWs! I lost 44lbs around 6 years ago and have done well in keeping it off. Even with the surgery and Christmas I've maintained my goal weight.
I live in Australia and find the meetings very discreet. No one except the weigher and leader need to know your weight. I love the fact that you are in control of what you eat. I really would recommend it.
Here WWs now offers one-on-one meetings and on-line so they may be options.
I start Tamoxifen soon and I'm a little nervous that this may cause me to gain so I'd love some support here! -
Hi, Tammy!!!! Welcome and so glad to hear you did so great on WW. Please post here often!!! Weight loss is doable even on these aromatose inhibitors! We will help each other here!!!!!
Tenaj!!!! So glad that you are getting pampered!!!! You deserve it!! As Tammy said you can do WW on-line!!! I did enjoy the meeting today very much. The woman was so motivational. I realized that after all these years,I need that, but as soon as I lose the weight, I may not go to the meetings as much, I just needed the jump start. The program is pretty easy to follow, smaller portions, increase your fruits and veggies at every meal, and healthier carb choices !!! And you gave the best advice, drink lots and lots of water!! I am paying $40 a month, but I don't color my hair any more or do manicures or pedicures , so my hubby said go for it, he,he,he!!!!! Please rest and heal!! Blessings and hugs to you all!!!! -
I do WW online only. It can be hard when motivation is at a low, but I know it's just up to me to get it done.
Welcome Tammy!!
-
Hi, everyone, my first weigh in showed a 3 lb loss!! Now, if I can keep it off until this Friday weigh in!! I will do it!!! Hope everyone is doing well and hugs!!! Kathy
-
Congratulations Kathy on your weight loss!!! Great job. I'm looking forward to resuming my exercise & better eating habits. It's difficult to not have cravings when you are a couch potatoe....lol
-
Hi, Tenaj, you are recovering from surgery, so please rest and recover!!! You can resume as soon as you feel better, plus I bet you have lost weight with what you have been through!!! Hugs to you!!!!

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I disappeared for a few days. A dear friend of mine is dealing with some pretty heavy issues right now, including a possibe BC dx.
I also am still having trouble with my foot. I should be able to wear a regular walking shoe now since it is eight weeks since my surgery, but my foot is still too inflamed and painful from RSD (same as the nerve problem in my arm). I got so discouraged yesterday because I thought I'd be able to walk normally again by now, but it's taking longer and I am so impatient! I'm going to therapy twice a week and the massage was especially painful today when she started to rub my toes. I really need some relief.
I hope all of you are doing well. Tenaj how's the healing going? Kathy, congratulations on your weight loss. I lost one pound, but am still working at it. Tammy, losing 44 pounds and keeping it off is a real accomplishment. Cookie, hang in there. We will all lose weight if we keep motivating each other. I've been eating a lot of produce that's for sure!
Have a blessed day Ladies! -
Rocket, you seem like a very patient lady to me.... 8 weeks with a painful foot can't be fun....
Just remember that even if you don't lose any weight at least you're not gaining!
I stayed the same at my monthly weigh in so I'm happy... -
Good for you Tammy! I will be so happy when I can walk again. I just want healing and no more pain. I'm really hoping that over the next two weeks I will see some improvement. I will begin pool therapy soon and that should help.
-
Hi, Rocket!!! You have been so patient with all that you are dealing with!!! I am sure the pool therapy will help! By Spring, you will be walking on those beautiful trails by your home with your hubby and pups!!!
Tammy, you are my inspiration for losing the weight, on WW!!! wow 44 lbs!! And you kept if off, fantastic!!!
Hugs to CookieMonster and ATeamNana !!!!! -
Welcome Tammy! You ladies are motivating me to look into WW.....
I'm starting to feel better. No exercising yet. I see the MD 2/12 to remove the rest of the sutures so I've been taking it easy. Trying to get to some projects that haven't been completed. I bought photo albums & I put together one for each of my children. The other is a recipe book for my DD. I started it a few years ago thinking I had time before she got married. Now that she's engaged I figured I better get my butt in gear with that. She will be coming home in about 2 wks for her birthday & of course she knows mom cooks her a special meal. Right now pot roast & potato dumplings are first choice. Certainly not light weight!!! I can't believe it's been a whole year that we have been in touch here on this thread. I know last year we talked about me cooking for my daughter. I just want to say how I appreciate you terrific supportive ladies, it has made this journey in life better. Thanks ((((hugs))))) -
((((((HUGS))))))) to all you ladies!
Tenaj, that's great that your DD is coming home and that you get some special time together. How fun! I love cooking, so the challenge for me is making things that are both delicious and light. I have been making a lot of low-point soup. It's both filling and nutritious without tons of calories.
Have a great evening everyone! -
Hi everyone! In the midst of a BLIZZARD! The rough stuff hasn't hit yet. Hope everyone is feeling well. Just wanted to say Hi!
-
-
We had at least 12 inches of snow, but had rain/slush for 6 hours before the snow started. We live near the water, 3 miles north of us got 32 inches!!! I felt bad I couldn't help my DH clear everything, so I baked. Baking during a snow storm has always been one of my favorite things to do. I baked home made cinnamon rolls..yummy! I delivered a package to 3 neighbors so it wouldn't be under our noses....I have to get back on track!!! It was fun though :-) have a great evening!
-
Dear Tenaj, so glad that you are all safe, but yikes, over 30 inches of snow!! I remember 3 years ago, when we were living in Chesterton, IN, we got 34 inches of snow!!! It has been cold here, but no snow in the South Bay, just up in the mountains!! I bet everyone loves you, Tenaj, in your neighborhood !!! You are so sweet to share your baked goods!!!! I would love to be your neighbor!
Lost 3 more lbs, love WW!! Hugs to you all!!!! -
You go girl!!! That is great news Kathy about the weight loss. You're motivating me to learn more about WW.....that will be my mission tomorrow, to get more educated about it. Thanks!!
-
Hi everyone. I have not been on this site for awhile. Just popped in tonite. New neuropathy meds seem to finally be working. Symptoms not all gone but at least tolerable. Hope you are all doing well. Im headed off to bed. I will try to read back through n catch up.
-
Hi, ATeamNana!!! So glad to see you here!! I have missed your posts!!! I am happy to hear the meds are working for your neuropathy!!! I am sure you have been uncomfortable!!! Hugs to you and everyone else here!!! Happy Sunday!!!
-
Glad to hear from you & to hear your feeling better ATeamNana. Have a great day all!
-
Sorry that I've been AWOL. Between DS' soccer stuff and my work I've been swamped. Haven't been to the site even- should be here now, but had to stop in and say HI at least.
DS turns 10 tomorrow!! We have b-day party today, b-day dinner tonight and then another b-day dinner tomorrow night. Whew! What a b-day weekend it's been. I spent too many hours yesterday baking and decorating his b-day cake (soccer themed, of course).
I was down another little bit this week. Even if it's in tiny bits, I'll take the loss over a gain.
HUGS to you all.
-
Hooray for your weight loss, CookieMonster!!!! And Happy Birthday to your dear son!!!
