TN Ten Pounds Take-Off

150 today.... where has everyone been? I hope you are all doing well
-
Hi finally taking a little off after that visit to Florida. Now I am 189 and started going to Zumba classes with my daughter..going to start going to more classes at gym. Lets all get fit for spring!
-
It's been a little rough over on the TNBC thread. LJ, Suze and MBJ all passed this week.
-
I just read all that... I am in tears... It is so scary I don't even have words.
-
Still holding at 131 this month. So sorry LB, Suze and MBJ lost their fight. This has been a scary month for me as I lost 3 friends in the last 3 weeks all from cancer. I keep telling myself to stay strong, fight and have faith. It is hard and very stressful. Need to take more walks and not work so hard.
-
I'm bumping this thread back into action as I am once more trying to lose ten pounds. I am weighing in on Wednesdays on another thread and would love to some TN friends back here. I'm sure somebody made a new year's resolution to lose weight? All the info from the top of the page is gone, so we can start afresh.
My stats: week one 152.5
week 2 151
so I'm 1.5/10 done.
-
Hey Gilly..I'm around 142 lb....would maybe like to be around 135 but I will deal with the 142. When I was first diagnosed I was at 124 lb..which is way too skinny for my body frame.. "bloomed" up to 155 during chemo and after...ended up with stomach fat and those damn pillow top things..ugh...i started jogging a few years ago which has helped immensely with the fat distribution....
But hey..I'm in with the losing weight. i would like to lose a few pounds and jog alot more....
-
Well hi there Titan. I guess lots of people removed this from their favorites. (I did-and it took me a little effort to find it again) We'll see if we can gather a few more ladies.
-
Hey, I'm here. I didn't join initially as I was happy with my weight, but I packed on a few pounds over the holidays - crap.
last week: 139.4
this week: 138.4
desired: 130
I'll check in next week.
-
Great Luah! Let's make Friday our check in/weigh in day?
-
Geesh, I'm heavier than all of you and I'm only 5'3-1/2. I felt so weak after finishing all of my treatments, I did well to continue to get up and get myself to work everyday. I have got to get myself into an exercise program. I need to lose at least 40 lbs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
-
Welcome Pam. No worries about how much you want to lose. Take it 10 pound increments is my first bit of advise. Look forward to hearing from more people.
-
I'm here too. I gained about 22 lbs during treatment. Weighing in right now at 162. still going to the gym. doing zumba, yoga and some strength training classes. But, everytime I try to ramp things up a bit from my ususal routine, I end up with joint pains. So I just decided to accept the fact that my body will no longer tolerate over doing things. I turned 53 on January 8th. Before I took my shower that morning, I took a good look in the mirror at my naked, scarred up and chubby body. Shed a few tears....and then got my gratitude on and was glad to still be having a birthday at all.
So, there it is. I still dream of being that slender fit gal of just a few years ago, but, I am here and will carry on.
-
Good to see you here Navymom.
-
Thanks, Gilly. Getting ready to go to the gym right now. Just keepin on! Thing is, that if I don't get regular exercise, I suffer more mentally than I do physically. Working up a sweat reminds me that I am ALIVE.
-
That's great going to the gym. I just walk a couple of miles 3 times a week and wish I could make myself do more.
-
Hey guys welcome back. I re-joined Jazzercise and need to start taking this seriously. My doctor told me the best defense was to keep my weight down. I need to loose 5 pounds to get back to Weight Watchers goal.
5'3"
135 pounds

Hello again GuyGirl! I just arbitrarily chose Fridays for a Weigh-in day. Looking forward to everyone bringing their news on Friday.
-
I'm so excited. We purchased an elipical machine this weekend. Should have it delivered by Saturday. That will help alot and then need to figure out a nutritional diet that I can stick with. Yes, Gillyone, I plan to concentrate on 10 lbs at a time. Am very proud of daughter, this last year she lost 50 lbs but she is into Tai Kwon Do also in a boot camp training class. She originally started due to her Rhuematoid Arthritis to help keep her limber but now she loves it. Not sure I am up to Tai Kwon Do yet. Maybe when I can get some strength and stamina back I can tackle that.
-
Well done Pam - that should be a real incentive to get moving. Let's all check in on Friday.
-
It's Friday! I didn't progress as much as I wanted this week as there was a family birthday celebration with a menu of chicken in a cream sauce, creamed vicyssoise and chocolate meringue torte. What's a girl to do? Even so, I dropped a pound, and at least I'm consistent. At this rate, I should reach my goal by March.
week 1: 139.4.... week 2: 138.4.... today: 137.4

#162 and holding
-
Luah and Navy - down a little and holding are both good. I am down just 0.5 so 2/10 in total.
-
160 and holding. Got the Eliptical set up Sunday. So at least now I can get in some exercise daily. That will help a great deal.
-
Pam, holding is positive and I'm glad you checked in. We can all support each other.
-
OK - So I'm new here. 43, Triple Negative (duh?), Stage 2, Node-Negative, No Mets. Had a lumpectomy and sentinal node biopsy - October 24. Started chemo in December. I finish up my last of 4 Dose Dense "AC" this Friday and then start 4 Taxol (again Dose Dense) in two weeks. Then it might be a bilateral mastectomy (waiting on my genetic test to come back) or rads.
I am 5'4"; 143lbs as of today's weigh in. I've gained back 5 of the 12 lbs I lost due to the stress of the diagnosis. And I'm starting to get flabby. I was solid before. Not skinny but trim and fit. I used to be a real work-out girl. I have a trainer and everything. But I've lost interest. Not sure if it is the energy thing (chemo is going very very well for me) - I am raising three young kids while doing this - ages 5, 5, and 8. It is so bad that I decided to "wallow" tomorrow - cat, book, bed.
I am told that I should take it easy during chemo and I am "doing great". I really haven't missed a bit of my regular life. Still raising the kids, doing stuff I enjoy, etc. But the lack of working out is making me crazy. I just can't do it. I am sitting across from my elliptical and my treadmill as I type. I vowed to get on one of the things tomorrow but then I decided to "wallow".
I sound like a loser - and I'm not. So I am open to all advice. You've all been where I am right now - treatment, adjusting, freaking out, etc.
Tell me what you think is wrong with me and then kick my butt and tell me what to do.
Oh I should mention that my trainer is not only very nice but he's smoking hot - and I still cancelled him for tomorrow. Now does that scream insane or what??
-
Welcome cats! You are not looking to lose weight - is that right? But get back to doing some exercise like you did before chemo? It sounds like you are doing really well with your chemo - but perhaps your reluctance to exercise is your body telling your mind it's not ready to cope with exercise as well as chemo right now. It might be taking more of a toll than you're thinking. Just a thought.
-
159 today. woot woot! Not sure if it will hold but I am feeling good about it today.
-
wow, congrats navymom - what are you doing so right?
I was down a half pound this week: 136.8 (so glad I have a digital scale or I'd get too discouraged, lol)
-
Good job Navy mom and Luah. I am in a holding pattern this week, not up not down. I can live with that this time - but next week I'm hoping it will be down. It does help if I make an effort though!
