newbies are always welcome!
not sure what I weigh, but I've had the flu for a week and a half and my appetite has been non existent, so I figure I am somewhere between 145 and 150-hell of a way to lose weight -- don't recommend it.
-
Of course macrimmon..you can join our bunch of losers...ha ha
-
mccrimmon- Of course you can. Just give me a starting weight to post if you'd like.
-
Thanks Heidi,
I'd like to lie about my starting weight, I'm soooooo embarrassed but maybe this will help me stick to it.

Does everyone check in on Mondays?
-
I am at 154 today the holiday baking has started ... uuugghhhh I have one more week to work out before I have my exchange surgery.... Starting Monday I will be on the couch... the PS said no working out for at least 3 to 4 weeks
. It takes everything I have to stay at the current weight and that is by working out 4 to 5 days a week... I am excited to get the new girls , I guess I will have to stock the house with a lot of healthy food..... -
mccrimmon- people check in "whenever", but Monday is the suggested day. I check the thread daily and update accordingly.
tracie- what about walking? Could you do that?
-
Ok, so maybe joining during the Holidays wasn't the smartest thing I could have done. I plan on getting on the scale either tomorrow or Thursday and will post then. I thought I would be nice over the weekend and make my hubby some cookies. Apparently I can't resist cookie dough

-
mccrimmon--- cookie dough? Sounds delicious....
-
nothing changed here -- cookie dough, yumm!
-
Hi Girls, hope everyone is fine . Currently holding at 147lbs. gained couple of pounds since October.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays , Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa. But just wanted to wish a healthy year to all my TN sisters.
-
I am at 151 today .... not sure how i got here but I am ok with it... Since the 19th I have been laying on the couch eating and doing nothing.... could there be something to that?? Could my TE's have weighed that much? I don't know but I like it

-
I was 131 this morning but I am not gonna beat myself up over. I had a great holiday, had lots of fun, ate lots of good stuff and now need to work hard to get back on track for 2012. Normally I gain 8 lbs and this year it was only 3 so I think I did pretty dang good. Hope everyone has a happy healthy new year.
-
Well, I find I am holding pretty steady at 130-132, so I'm pretty happy with that, especially since I'm not really working at it. I'd still like that 125 goal but, like you, why beat myself up if I still fit in my size 6-8 clothes and don't have to starve myself?
-
Still at 151 I want to say my goal is 145
-
Ok..haven't posted my weight for awhile..but..I'm like 140..with alot of clothes on..it's cold here in Ohio....
But today..I jogged 3 miles...after eating several pieces of candy...oh..and had a veggie sub for dinner...I'm on it..really...
-
Titan... I just ate 7 mini heath toffe bars, a bag of popcorn extra butter...and a few choc chip cookies.... uuggghhh
-
tracie...but they were "mini" heath bars and just a "few" cookies..
-
tracie--- what Titan said...
-
I heard on the radio that people are supposed to eat 9 servings of fruits and veggies per day...that's a lot! I was wondering if wine counts..it is made from fruit.
-
Does a smore fit in any where in the food pyramid ???
-
Sure, it"s.... uhm..... let me get back to you on this................
-
Ok ladies, I'd like to try and join again. I haven't weighed myself yet but want to get back on the wagon this week.
Wish I could stop picking at night.
-
mccrimmon324 when did you finish chemo? I pick all the time... I think I am addicted to Ritz crackers if I open a pack they are gone you can count on it... oh and mini heath toffee bars

Did anyone every figure out if a smore is part of the food pyramid
-
Tracie, my last treatment was sept 22, but I'm a picker at night with a horrible sweet tooth. I have an addiction to triscuts. Proir to BC I had found this cinnamon sugar kettle corn, hubby and I would open a bag and eat the whole thing. Haven't had it since diagnosis though. Have really tried to change the way I eat.
Think I would do better if Hubby didn't have snacks but I can't punish him for my bad eating habits.

I've been thinking about this. I think it is, as long as you eat them only in Egypt.
I'm on a Crunchy Cheesy Curls kick at the moment. Followed by an ounce of Glayva!

-
mmmmmmm heidi I love crunchy cheese curls , well I guess I need to go to Egypt to eat smores what a good excuse for a trip
-
Hi ladies I would like to join here too. I am 5'9" and currently 190. I know it is so important to
keep this weight down after BC. I am really going to make an effort to cut down on the sugar and breads etc. I really feel I am making much better choices now I just have to put more effort into this.
I am going to Florida for four weeks soon so I am planning to do a lot of walking on the beach and try to make healthy choices even on vacation (mind you I am sure I will have my special treats)
Titan I really like your idea of the wine!
-
Lilyn- Your name has been added to the list!
-
"Is a smore part of the food pyramid"? Interesting question.
My scale is broken so I have not weighed but I know I gained over the holidays. I am trying to work out 1 hour each day and have ordered a new scale, so I'll check back in.
Good luck, everyone! -
I'm glad I found this group. I'm not sure if it's what I've been through this past year or it's my metabolism slowing down as I get older. I'm 53 and I just realized that I've gained about 5 pounds with every decade of life after age 20. I see it getting tougher now and have to make it stop. I'm only 5'2 and tipped the scale at 130 after the holidays. Ugh! My highest weight was 124 before my diagnosis last February. It may not sound like much but I have to work really hard to get a pound off. But I did lose 2 pounds (X-mas cookies) over the last 2 weeks.
I just learned that the YMCA offers their "Live Strong" program to any Cancer survivors. It's a 12 week group session. You all meet twice week and they develop a special program for each member. The also bring in nutritionists and help teach you yoga and other stretching and flexibility techniques. You can go to their gym as much as you like through the 12 weeks. I start on Jan. 24th. I'm very excited. I used to belong to a gym but am only working out at home right now. I need more!
Thanks for starting this group Heidi.
