TN Ten Pounds Take-Off
Comments

Well done NavyMom! I was shocked to discover this morning I weighed in at 150.5. This is really bad. Not only not down, but up .5. Very disappointed as earlier in the week it was 148. So I'll see for next week.

Hi All,
164. Day 3 (yesterday) post chemo was terrible. DH finally found something that I could eat. Today I'm shaky but hanging in there. I walked a little bit. I had a bacon biscuit this am with some grits. Lunch was an apple and a honey/banana/peanut butter sandwich. Lots of water.
-
hang in there Shady. Things will get better. Glad to hear that you are dring lots of water. I drank lots of ginger ale soda. Sad to say, but I'll never drink it agian....wish I felt that way about french fries. Those were the 2 things that seemed to taste good to me during chemo. Red and blue gatorade are also on my list of "no Thanks" since I brought a gatorade to each and every treatment.
Waving back at ya, Gilly. Geez the scale can be so mean.
-
Hi everyone! I would love to join in, too. I'm two years out from diagnosis and one year from active treatment (except for tamoxifen which I am currently taking.) I am right at 150 right now, down from a high of 153 last week. Prior to treatment I weighed 135-142, with a low of 118. I'm not doing so great with exercise but am going to go to the gym tomorrow. I am trying to limit pizza and sugar. I have a horrendous sweet tooth but I eat a mostly vegetarian diet with cheese, eggs, yogurt, and occasionally some fish or shellfish. My present goal is to lose ten pounds.
-
Welcome Christina, of course you can join in. Well keep posting and supporting each other.
Shady, sorry you're not feeling great. You should eat whatever tastes good during chemo good work on drinking lots. I found that really hard. Even plain water tasted bad. -
Well, I survived the birthday party. I had one beer and one plate of food and got away from the buffet tables. I did cave when the cake and ice cream were served.....But it was really good!
-
Yum!

158 this morning. I did much better this week with food choices. Trying hard to chose fruit, low fat yogurt or high fiber crackers when I need a snack. Taking a day off from the gym today but going out dancing with DH tonught.
Hope everyone if doing OK this week. Slow and steady as you go, girls. If you have a bad day, wake up the next day and try again.
-
Good job NavyMom!!
I am down to 149, so pleased to be back under 150. We'll see if I can make actual progress this week.
-
Scale finally went down a little 134.2 this morning. I really struggle with this 5 pounds, it should not be so hard.
-
Good for you GuyGirl! It IS hard.
-
I'm back after a little vacation. Have been up a few pounds, down a few. Anyway, here I am officially logging back in at 136.2 - want to drop 6 more.
I've been skiing a lot, but now that the warmer weather is coming, I will get back into my usual walk/run routine.
-
Nice to see you back Luah - but glad you've been doing something fun.
-
160 this morning. I just can't seem to hang on to the 150's. So frustrating. But I did it to myself. I bought a big bag of peanut M&Ms. I put them in a bowl on the counter top....thought maybe DH would help me eat them, BUT NOOOO. He is up a few pounds and has the will power that is worth a million dollars. I don't think he has eaten any! UGH! See ya next Friday, gals. I hope you all are behaving better than I am.
-
No, not really behaving better. Just about hanging on under 150 - 149.5. I will try again this week.
-
Scale was 132 today, but it has been up and down a lot lately. It was confirmed that I have a mild case of lymphedema so believe that could be messing up my numbers on the scale.
-
Sorry about the lymphedema. Are you doing anything for it?
-
Yes, I am going to Physical Therapy and they are teaching how to do self massage and have given several pages of stretches and exercises to do twice a day. The worst problem I am having is finding a comfortable bra to wear that looks nice under my dress clothes. Most of my swelling is right at my sentinel node surgery site and my underwire is really uncomfortable.
-
Sorry to hear that you are dealing with lymphedema, Guygirl. I don't have any recommendations for bras. The only time I wear one is at the gym. And that is only a thin sports bra. Hoping that your troubles get better with therapy and your pain and discomfort are minimal.
Going to the gym for yoga class followed by zumba. Not thrilled about 2 classes in a row, but love the instructor so that makes it tolerable.
Looking forward to the day that it finally warms up enough to take a walk outside or get in the yard and dig in the dirt.
Have a good day, everyone

Alrighty ladies, my wonderful lover just gave me a vitamix. We are going to fight cancer with diet and work on losing my chemo 10 lbs. I also won a prize in a cancer support raffle! It's for hot yoga? Hopefully I won't be too weak after surgery to try it.
I'm 168 today at 5'9. I want to lose 10, initially. Then push to 150.
Whose with me!
