Here's what cheezed me off today

Ro found the stuff I wrote or C&P'd for ChrissyB. The link goes to pg 169 of that thread. Diet and genetic testing are discussed on that page. Genetic testing is indicated if there is extreme difficulty or problems adjusting dose. If you want to go back to pg. 166 on that thread and look for her posts and mine where there were lots of exchanges re: problems. You would pick up info that would help over the long haul. Chrissy had a lot of problems that were "Iatrogenic", fancy word for doc screw ups. Things didn't settle down until page 169 where we got into the diet teaching and genetic testing.

I know an unusually large number of ppl on warfarin. ( PM me of you want to know why )
I have to ask- are you avoiding salads, greens, spinach and the like ?

To all- Didn't want too be to graphic here on Cheesed, but the low molecular weight heparins are great until a trauma or emergency surgery is needed. In those cases people have died b/c there was no reversal agent/drug. Thus they have literally bled to death. Factor 8(?, may be 10) in the clotting cascade can be used , but there are difficulties beyond my knowledge as to why it hasn't been used. So, when someone tells you the LMWH's are better uh uh. I 'm telling you this so you know the difference between the two and won't second guess why you are on c/w. Shared this with Ro in a PM. Pondered whether I should post it here. The LMWH's are great drugs, until the trouble occurs as I've said above. What's not happening is that docs aren't explaining this to patients. I think it's criminal, literally. If a patient consents to a drug after full disclosure of risks that's different. Anyone here on that class of drugs, I may have caused serious concern and or fear. Sorry, but if you hadn't been told of the risk, at least now you can talk to your doc. Mea culpa(forgive me) ! Sassy

The info on warfarin really can be scary...you are right.

If you MUST be on it, just remember blood clots in the legs are scary as well. I know dozens <literally> of ppl who have been on warfarin for yrs and are doing very very well. They are both healthy and active.

Ok- here's my p.o.'ed for the holidays. Just a brief, cliff notes backdrop. I was dx with dcis on 10/08/12, 2 days after my mom died. Had umx on 10/29. My outlaws didn't say much about mx other than comparing the surgery to fil having pre cancer "sliced" off in the dermatologists office. Gee- didn't realize mx was now outpatient done under local anesthesia.hmmm they live approximately 5 miles away from us. Not once did they offer to help drive our 3 kids to their various activities- they certainly didn't offer dinner or to assist in any way,no flowers, get well cards etc. they certainly didn't show up or acknowledge my moms funeral. Tonight is their annual Christmas Eve party that we've not been included in for 15 years and I'm stuck playing flipping servant to these people tomorrow for Christmas - just like the last 4 years. They sit on their butts and do NOTHInG to help- I am really resenting that they do not help AT ALL and I repeatedly told my husband that I did NOT want to cook this Christmas and wanted to go out to dinner instead. I've been so busy doing all of the shopping as well as helping a lot with my 13 year old daughters ballet studios production of the nutcracker- I'm starting to get sick...Ho Ho Ho I'm staring to hate the holidays!

Ball's in your court now.  Yep, I know it's bad timing, but the darn game just keep going on - with or without you.  It's time to speak up to your MIL .  Let her know the pain you have gone through- both physically and emotionally.  That's the best " gift" you can give her.  Trust me- unless she is in an inhuman monster., she has been( inadvertently) shielded from all of this by you.  She's essentially been let off the hook.

Call her out.

Made my attempt - I had a very difficult time keeping my temper as my umx was likened to a "boob" job- um, not even close and to mils colonoscopy where she had a polyp. I swear, it just got to the point of trying to explain what a mastectomy is being told"don't get depressed about it" and "you know, you don't HAVE to have reconstruction"- just what I want, a dd boob on one side and either nothing or this fabulously comfortable not matching TE on the other. I give up! Sorry but "F" those people! It's impossible to reason with crazy, etc people! Grrr assh*les- I suppose the one bright thing is they stayed on their asses in the family room while I cooked, with (purposely) the exhaust fan on high so I couldn't hear them. Lol the champagne I was drinking was good - of course, they came empty handed....

I could not agree more.  Perhaps we could try to get MANY of the girls here to email and ask if they would consider standard refund or exchange policies. I will post on  a few threads, AND I will personally shoot an email off right now asking for it.

Perhaps some of you could write and say that you heard of the FARROW glove but also heard they do not have a standard refund or exchng policy so you  dont want to chance them(?) Any takers ? I/we appreciate the support!
